Boys of Disco City

“Hi, Mom, It’s me. I’m back home. At the airport. Can you come pick me up?”

  ~ ~ ~

By the time Mr. Gil Graham’s tale wound up, the eastern sky was paling with hints of dawn over Burbank. Mike Benson didn’t feel tired, though; spellbound, more like. He and Mr. Graham were ensconced in the producer’s luxury suite at the Amarano. His host was yawning, however.

“I reckon we need some sleep. No need to leave. I’ll get some blankets. These sofas are as comfortable as any bed.”

Gil got up, and as he did so young Mike stood too, crossed over, and took the older man in his arms. “If it’s all the same to you, Mr.… er, Gil, I don’t mind sharing your bed. Save you the trouble of digging out blankets.”

Gil gazed back calmly, a hint of a smile creasing his handsome face. “Whatever you say, Mike.”

“There’s just one thing I need to ask you…”

  “And that is…?”

“Was that the last you ever saw of Mike Smith?”

Gil breathed out. “No. We saw each other again, once the impediment to our relationship was finally removed… we got to be the boys of disco city again.”

He smiled. “But that’s another story for another day.”

The story of Gil and Mike begins continues in the third book.

  About the Autor

Born in Switzerland, Oliver Frey a.k.a. Zack ended up in London and, after attending film school, plunged into gay art and publishing. Innumerable illustrations poured from his pen and brush for British magazines HIM International, Vulcan, Teenage Dreams, the Gay Library series, and Mister magazine (which published the late-period Rogue stories). For HIM he created the mold-breaking Rogue comic strip and later The Street, which was part of the inspiration behind cult TV series Queer As Folk. The Internet has spread his reputation to an enormous global fan base through many sites and blogs. Some of his comic-strip work has been published recently by Bruno Gmünder— Bike Boy, Hot For Boys: the Sexy Adventures of Rogue, and Bike Boy Rides Again. As Zack, Frey has taken gay erotic art and comics to new dimensions. He lives with life-long partner Roger Kean in a medieval town on the edge of Wales.

British-born author Roger Kean, who met Oliver at film school, has had careers as a movie cameraman, film editor, journalist, and magazine and book editor. As an author he has written books on historical subjects both factual and fictional, and gay fiction, including Boys of Vice City, Boys of Disco City, and Boys of Two Cities —the third in the series to be published later in 2012 by Bruno Gmünder.
