Excitement made her almost crazy with lust and need. This was what she wanted. Rocko was pushing his cock into her body. Each tiny increment left her feeling as though she were so incredibly full that she might split apart. Then he gently rubbed her clit with his thumb, and her whole body loosened up.

His cock slipped deep into her channel, and she sucked in a quick breath of shock. There was a burning sensation, but that was quickly gone. He was being very still as if waiting for her to get used to him, but she was already there.

“Please!” she begged. Rocking her hips against him, she begged him again, this time without words, for what she needed.

Rocko’s expression was intense. Lines bracketed his mouth and around his eyes. Then he put his hands on the bed and began to thrust hard into her body. Each stroke made her gasp with the power. He wrapped one arm around her and held her still as he pounded her pussy. Each time he sank deep inside, there was a slapping noise as his flesh joined with hers. He was so deep inside her body that she thought she might split in two, but she could not manage to care about the consequences.

  ***

Lena’s tight little pussy squeezed Rocko’s dick until he could barely move. The pressure was incredible. Every single time he thrust into her body, he felt the direct stimulation as though she were using her hand to pump him.

He braced his weight on his knees and began thrusting in long strokes that had him backing out almost all the way only to shove his cock right back inside her. She was so wet and so ready for him that she fit his shaft like a glove. It was exquisite. He’d never experienced anything like this woman.

Picking up her legs, he spread her wider. He altered the angle, fucking her with a downward motion that sent his shaft skidding across the spread hood of her clit every single time he entered her body. She gasped and shook as she got so close to her orgasm that he could actually feel it uncoiling inside her muscles like a live beast.

But no. He didn’t want her to come yet. He forced himself to pause. She whimpered and squirmed and whined, but he gripped her legs at the ankles and held her wide open. The position left her pussy completely open and vulnerable to his desires.

He gazed down at this amazing creature. He’d never wanted another woman like this. He’d never enjoyed one so thoroughly. He only wanted to fuck and fuck and never stop.

With a groan of deep satisfaction, he stretched up as far as he could on his knees. Gripping Lena’s legs tightly, he lifted her off the bed and held her butt up off the mattress as he began downward stroking her again and again. He groaned at the intensity of each stroke, letting them go on and on until she was begging him to finish her.

“Rocko, please!” she moaned. “I need—I need—I need...”

He felt her inner muscles bearing down on his cock. The tip of his dick began to brush the end of her cervix with each stroke. The extra stimulation was almost more than he could handle. He knew he needed to let her come, but he wanted to feel that one last pleasure before he pulled out of her body for his orgasm.

And yet, for the first time in his adult life, Rocko had the urge to ejaculate inside a lover. It would have been a violation of his most basic personal rule. He did not want children. Ever. So he never allowed himself to come inside a woman. That way there would be no question in his mind that he was free of family entanglements.

And yet, he was so tempted this time to break that rule.

Rocko let Lena’s body drop back to the mattress. He pounded her hard, fucking her pussy until she was crying out with each stroke. Then he felt her bear down hard as she came at last. Her broken shout of pleasure was music to his ears. He thrust once, twice.

Again, the temptation was there to come inside her, to stay within her welcoming heat and just let go.

After a second’s hesitation, he resisted that temptation, yanked his cock free of her tight sheath and held on tight with his hand.

Straddling Lena’s body, he pumped his cock and watched the thick white ejaculate bathe her beautiful breasts in his essence. He strained and trembled as he came harder than he ever had before in his life. Bracing one hand on the bed, he continued to spasm as his seed spilled onto Lena’s creamy white skin. The last few drops sprayed her belly with the hot fluid, and then he was done.

He flopped onto his back beside Lena. He knew he needed to at least get up and get the poor woman a towel. It was what he did for all of his lovers. With a big grunt, he levered himself off the bed and stumbled into the bathroom. Rocko felt utterly spent. The only thing on his mind at the moment was curling up in bed with Lena snuggled into his side.

The thought gave him pause. Why did he want her there with him? He should have been considering sending her to the other end of the trailer to sleep in the bed that no longer belonged to Stone.

Strange. Even the possibility was abhorrent. Not just of asking Lena to be in a space that had once belonged to a man who had assaulted her, but the notion of not having her at his side. Perhaps he might want to have her again before morning. Yes. That had to be the reason why.

He rinsed a washcloth with warm water and headed back into the bedroom. Lena was still lying on her back. Her eyes were open, but she appeared to be staring at the ceiling. Rocko leaned over and began to gently wipe away the cum on her breasts and belly.

“Why did you do that?” she asked softly.

He could have pretended not to know what she was talking about, but that wasn’t his way. “I don’t come inside my lovers.”

  “Why not?”

“I don’t want kids. My father was a shit example of a parent, and I don’t feel like I have anything to offer a kid. Why bring a kid into this kind of life?” He shrugged as he wiped up the last bit. “So I never come inside a woman to make sure she can never show up one day and tell me she’s going to have my kid.”

“I suppose that makes sense.” Her tone was very matter of fact, but there was something about the way she spoke that made him feel like she didn’t quite agree with him.

Rocko tossed the washcloth into the hamper and crawled back in bed. He pulled the covers up over their naked bodies. “After everything your father has put you through, can you honestly tell me that you want to deal with a kid someday?”

“Someday? Yes. I do.” Then she rolled over and gave him her back.

  Chapter Eight

Lena needed a game plan, and she needed it quickly. As she listened to Rocko lightly snoring beside her in the bed, she wondered what it would be like to fall asleep like this every night. Would she get used to having a big, warm man to swallow up all the space?

Each time she tried to move to the edge of the bed, he rolled closer. Finally, she had given up trying to keep space between them on the mattress. At the moment, Rocko was lying on his side in the center of the bed. He had one arm thrown over her, and his leg was pinning her to the mattress. It was not exactly unpleasant. He was warm.

Since her father didn’t have a lot of money, Lena never turned up the heat in their Airstream. She just added blankets to her bed. Still, she always felt cold at night. Nights in the desert could be incredibly chilly. So the warmth was certainly welcome. And Rocko smelled good, which was nice.

Ugh! I’m not supposed to be thinking about all of the benefits of having this man around.

Lena thought about her father. Chester was probably all by himself in that Airstream. There would be nobody to make sure his clothes were washed or that he ate a decent dinner. He would fall asleep in front of their tiny color television, and nobody would wake him up and get him into bed. What if he got drunk? There would be nobody to take care of him.

Her belly tightened into a series of hard little knots as she thought of all the reasons why she needed to get back to her father. He depended on her. That was enough. Which meant that she needed to find a way out of this situation that did not involve a lifetime’s worth of slavery and got her father out of his debt to the Road Rashers.

Squirming onto her side, Lena stared at Rocko. She
couldn’t see much in the dark. What she could see of his handsome features was steeped in dark shadow. She had thought of him as hard and unfeeling—a criminal. It turned out he really wasn’t like that at all. There was feeling in him. He just wasn’t wearing his heart on his sleeve. Obviously whatever had happened in his childhood had made a huge impact.

She rolled to her other side, facing away from Rocko. Looking at him made it difficult to think. She didn’t want to think about someone yelling and screaming at a cute little boy with his blue eyes and tousled dark hair. And she really didn’t want to imagine someone beating him, even though she suspected that’s what had actually happened to him as a child.

It would explain a lot. Especially since he seemed so set on never having children of his own.

She rolled onto her back and shut her eyes. That lasted all of twenty seconds before she heard Rocko inhale a deep, shuddering breath. For some reason, she became completely aware of the fact that he was awake.

“Are you all right?” Rocko rumbled. “I can feel you tossing and turning.”

“I had a few things on my mind.”

He sighed. “Thinking about your father?”

  “Yes.”

“I remember when I first left home.” He lifted one hand and rubbed it down his face. “I felt so much damn guilt for leaving my father on his own.”

“You did?” She somehow had difficulty imagining Rocko Trapp feeling guilt at all. “For what? If he was abusive, then you needed to leave.”

“That didn’t mean I didn’t feel like it was my responsibility to take care of him,” Rocko said in a wry tone. “Isn’t that what you’re feeling?”

“But my father isn’t abusive,” she stubbornly insisted. “He loves me. He’s never beaten me or yelled—well, sometimes he yells. But he’s always provided me with a roof over my head and a job.”

Rocko rolled onto his belly and snorted. “You really believe that?”

  She couldn’t answer that.

Why was he poking at her like this?

He heaved a giant sigh. “We feel responsibility for people because they’re family. Because we’ve always taken care of them. Because we thought they took care of us. And sometimes just because we’re afraid of what would happen if we up and left.”

  “I’m not afraid!”

“I didn’t say you were.” He glanced over at her. She couldn’t read his expression in the dark. “I’m talking about myself. Before I finally left, I’d never known another life other than the one I was born into. I’d lived in that little house since I was born. After Mama ran away, I had nothing but my father in my life. I covered up for him for so long that I could no longer tell the difference between the lies and the truth. I was terrified to step out and try something new. The beatings hurt, but they were bearable. I knew that life. It was familiar to me. The big world out there wasn’t at all familiar. I was afraid. And I was afraid that what I was doing was wrong. He was my dad, right?” He gently touched her shoulder. “But it’s not the child’s responsibility to take care of the parent. It’s the other way around.”

“I’m tired,” she whispered, her throat tight. “I want to go to sleep now.”

“Good night, Lena,” Rocko murmured. “Sweet dreams.”

  ***

When he spotted Stone shuffling his way over toward the trailer the following morning, Rocko should have unceremoniously booted Stone past the boundary gates. But for some reason, there was a spring in Rocko’s step and an even stranger feeling of goodwill toward anyone who didn’t have it as good as he did. He attributed it to incredible sex and a good night’s sleep. At the moment, he didn’t care to examine what Lena herself had to do with his unusually good mood.

“I thought I told you to get the fuck out,” Rocko growled.

Stone was limping this morning. He was hunched over and looked as if he were in some pretty serious pain. Flanking him were five men who had always been his cronies within the Rashers’ ranks. Rocko exchanged nods with the men to let them know that he wasn’t going to punish them for their loyalty to a friend.

“I’m here to beg you to let me stay.” Stone snuffled a bit, wiping his nose with the back of his hand. “I don’t have anywhere else to go. This has been my home since I got out of juvie.”

“Then maybe next time you need to remember that before you go and throw it in my face.” Rocko used a severe tone. He needed Stone to understand how badly he’d screwed up. “Do you get what you did?”

Stone went down on his knees. “She’s just a woman, Rocko. Don’t let a woman come between us.”

“She’s my woman,” Rocko snarled. “Forget anything about her other than the fact that you assaulted a woman under my protection. That’s disrespecting me. It’s making me look the fool. You think I’m going to tolerate that?” Rocko grabbed him by his hair and forced Stone to meet his gaze. “Because I’m not. You get me? You want to stay here? Fine. But if you think I’m going to leave you second in charge around here, you’re dead fucking wrong. You can stay with your pals here. They’re responsible for you. You put a foot out of line, and they’ll pay for it too. Understand?”

  “Yeah.”

There was fear in Stone’s watery gaze, but there was smoldering hatred there too. But Rocko knew in his gut that Stone was still his friend. They’d known each other for so long. It was hard to think that this was really going to be the end. It was why he hadn’t chosen a second from among the Rashers just yet. Rocko was still hoping that Stone would come around.

“Now get out of here and don’t let me see you the rest of the day.” Rocko thought over what might make Stone chill out the fastest. “I want you tending bar at the Watering Hole tonight. You got that?”

  “Yeah.”

“And I want you tending bar every damn night until I tell you otherwise.” Rocko gave a hard nod.

As Stone got on his bike and left, Rocko could feel the stares of every other Rasher around him boring right through him.

The men were uneasy. He got that. A change of leadership always made the gang feel a little unsettled. The only real solution to that was a ride. They needed to feel that sense of camaraderie that made them a gang in the first place. It was the only real answer.

He raised his arms to the rest of his gang. “Let’s ride! We need to be seen in our territory or we’ll lose it, right?”

There was a whoop around the assembled men. Their shouts brought more people out of their trailers. Bikes were started up, and men laughed and called out to each other. The mood turned from uncertain to that of a party, and Rocko knew he’d made the right choice. They would go ride the switchbacks down the highway a bit, harass some motorists, make fun of tourists, and then stop by the casino for a drink. It was the best way to bond with his men and show them that he was still the same Rocko.

  “What’s happening?”

He turned as he flung a leg over his bike. Lena had appeared in the yard with her hands pressed to her ears. He grinned at her and started up his bike. “We’re heading out. You’ve got the place to yourself.”

“When are you coming back?” She acted almost frantic. “What am I supposed to do here while you’re gone?”

“Learn to cook?” he suggested. “There are cookbooks in the kitchen somewhere. Use them.”

“Learn to cook.” Her voice trailed off, and he could see the fire in her eyes.

That wasn’t acceptable. “I don’t have time for this shit right now.” He hit the gas, and his bike shot out of its spot beside his truck.

In moments he was riding at the head of the pack. The Road Rashers fell in behind him, and Rocko forced himself to stop thinking about the red-headed temptress he’d just left on her own.

  Chapter Nine

  Learn to cook.

Lena stomped back toward the rickety porch steps. The dog growled, and she turned and bared her teeth and snarled back at it. The animal drew back. Its expression of doggy surprise was actually hilarious, but she wasn’t in the mood to laugh
.

“What if I don’t want to learn to cook?” she muttered. “Did he think of that? What if I hate cooking?”

She shoved her way through the nearly ruined front door. The plastic and particleboard that made up that narrow trailer door had certainly seen better days, especially after all of the shoving, kicking, pushing, and beatings that had taken place the night before. Not that the state of this dump was her problem anyway. As far as Lena was concerned, the thing could burn down and she’d stand there and laugh.

Moving into the kitchen, she put her hands flat on the Formica countertop and sighed. She closed her eyes. Why was she so angry? This was all her fault anyway. She was supposed to be figuring out a way to get Rocko to forgive her father’s debt. He wanted her to learn how to cook? Fine. She would attempt to make a meal. Or something.

Lena began rifling through the cupboards. There were some basic ingredients. She spotted flour, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder. There was a container of salt and its matching cheap pepper shaker. And in the very last cabinet, she uncovered a small stack of dusty cookbooks.

“How weird is that?” Lena murmured as she stood on tiptoe to get them down. “Why does a biker gang leader have cookbooks?”

The answer was inside the front cover of the first book. Lena propped her hip against the counter and brushed her fingers down the page. GINA LOUISE TRAPP. The carefully block printed letters were repeated in every single one of the old, well-used books.

Thumbing through the tomes, Lena realized that Gina Louise Trapp—possibly Rocko’s mother—had earmarked recipes, scribbled notes in the margins, and generally made the books very much her own. It was readily apparent that Gina had been a woman who enjoyed cooking. Lena could not help but wonder what had happened. Rocko had told her just last night that his mama had run away. Had Gina Louise Trapp just up and left her son there with an abusive father? Why would a woman do that? At least her mother had died. And her father wasn’t abusive.

Lena shut the first book and stared out the window at the wide desert landscape. There were twisted hills, scrubby mesquite bushes, and dunes bigger than this trailer out there. She felt so isolated here. Why had Rocko taken her deal? At first, it had seemed almost providential. Now she was wondering if he wasn’t just a little insane. It was absolutely ridiculous to take a person for thirty days as payment for a huge monetary debt. Sure, she had slept with him. But Rocko Trapp could get any woman he wanted for free. Why had he done it?
