Humbled that such an incredible man could want her so much, and that he could find so much pleasure in her, Kendra laid a hand on his chest, smiling when he wrapped his around it. “I was hungry for you, too.”

Grant had an intensity and gentleness about him that made her feel warm and womanly inside. He had a darkness and bitterness in him that showed now and then, a hurt that she desperately wanted to heal, and some instinct told her that she’d already made a start.

It humbled her and gave her a good feeling inside, one that increased the sense of intimacy she felt with him.

Her stomach rumbled, earning a chuckle from Grant.

“We’d better go feed you. I’m sure the others are anxiously waiting to see you again.” He flicked on the light before moving to his dresser.

Kendra stiffened defensively, blinking and shading her eyes. Sitting up, she pulled the sheet up to cover herself, unable to resist admiring his naked butt.

“Do you think so?” She frowned, hating that she needed reassurance, but now that she’d made love to Grant, she felt vulnerable, and didn’t know how the others would react.

Pulling clothes from the drawer, Grant turned at the waist to look at her. “I know so. Barrett, Mason, and Quinn are probably downstairs now wishing they were the ones up here making love to you. Barrett’s probably hard as a rock, thinking about what you looked like and the sounds you made when you came.” Smiling, he disappeared into the bathroom.

How could she tell him that this meant more to her than pleasure without sounding as if she expected something more?

Slipping from the bed, Kendra wrapped the sheet around herself, clearing her throat and raising her voice to be heard above the sound of running water. Shuffling her feet, she looked down at them, wondering if the men would think her feet sexy if she painted her toenails. “Um, Grant? I just want you to know that this was very special to me.”

When Grant reappeared, she realized that he’d gotten rid of the condom. Smiling, he closed the distance between them and lifted her chin, dropping another kiss on her swollen lips. “To me, too. More than you know.”

Aware of Grant’s scrutiny as he dressed, she gathered the clothes she’d worn the night before and headed for the bathroom. “I’ll be down in a few minutes.”

Wishing she had the bag containing her new sweat suits and her suitcase, she cleaned up the best she could, brushing her teeth with a fresh toothbrush she found in one of the bathroom drawers.

Once finished, she made her way back into the bedroom, relieved and disappointed to find it empty.

  Her stomach rumbled again.

She couldn’t put off facing the others forever.

Bracing herself, she left the room and headed down the hall, smiling when the smell of bacon reached her.

She went down the stairs to the kitchen, her stomach clenching tighter with each step.

Pausing at the bottom of the stairs, she found herself once again struck by the sight of all four of them together.

The camaraderie between them couldn’t be mistaken. They moved around the kitchen in a smooth rhythm, the kind that took years to establish. She could well imagine them working just as well together as they went about their chores on the ranch.

She couldn’t help but think about how they’d move together while making love to her.

She sucked in a breath and let it out slowly, her breath catching when she realized that all four men had stopped what they were doing and turned toward her.

Crossing the foyer and into the kitchen under their narrowed and watchful gazes, Kendra smiled at each of them. “Good morning. Can I help with something?”

Grant straightened and came toward her, holding his hand out for hers. “Good morning again.” He kissed her forehead, rubbing a hand down her back. “Coffee?”

“Sure. I’ll get it.” She started to move away from him, stopping short when Mason approached.

Grinning, Mason lifted her chin. “Good morning.” He shocked her by dropping a kiss on her lips, his eyes searching as he straightened. “I’ll get your coffee. Do you feel better?”

Embarrassed and a little overwhelmed at their sudden and sharp attention, she shifted her feet, her cheeks burning. “I, uh—”

Mason threw back his head and laughed. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

Fighting the urge to rub her lips, still tingling from his kiss, Kendra smiled and nodded. “I feel great. I’m afraid you’ve only seen me at my worst. Hurt. Scared. Mad. Tired. I’ve been a mess since I got here.”

“You’re not a mess now, Kendra. Come here.”

Blinking at the demand in Barrett’s voice, Kendra turned toward him, her face burning at the memory of his touch. She moved to him as if in a trance, her nipples tingling at the memory of his hands and mouth on them.

Smiling her thanks, she accepted the cup of coffee from Mason as she made her way to stand beside Barrett’s chair. “What?”

Barrett sighed and got to his feet. “I want to see if you ripped your stitches.”

  “I didn’t. Hey!”

He grabbed the cup out of her hand and set it aside. Seconds later, his hands closed over her waist and he lifted her to the island. “Kendra, when it comes to your health, I’m in charge here.” Lifting her skirt high, he studied her stitches.

“Damn it, Barrett.” Sucking in a breath at the feel of the cold marble on her ass, she tried to keep her skirt pulled down, sucking in a breath at the feel of Barrett’s hands on her thigh as he held it immobile.

Quinn came around on her other side, his smile pure sin. “Very nice.” Sliding his hand up her uninjured thigh, he leaned close and took her mouth in a searing kiss. “Nothing like a bare ass on the island first thing in the morning to wake me up. Where are your panties?”

“Grant ripped them and I don’t have my suitcase or bag upstairs. Oh!”

She jolted at the feel of Quinn’s fingers sliding over her mound, her gaze going to Grant’s, searching for any sign of anger.

To her surprise and relief, he smiled and moved in behind her, reaching across the large expanse of granite to rub her back. His smile and the tenderness in his eyes made him even more handsome, something she hadn’t thought possible. “I didn’t want to take the chance of hurting her thigh. You saw how she was squirming, though.”

Barrett lifted his head. “Yeah, but you held on to her. Her stitches look fine.”

Kendra shivered when Barrett leaned close, her breath hitching when Quinn pulled her thighs wider. Low, soft moans poured out of her, moans of pleasure she couldn’t hold back. The feel of their hands holding her—moving over her—surpassed even her wildest fantasy.

Barrett’s lips touched her cheek at the same time Quinn parted her folds. “I’ll buy you some new panties. All pink.”

Quinn grinned. “Why? I like her without them. You’re wet. I’ll bet after coming this morning, your clit’s really sensitive.” He slid his fingers over it, his eyes darkening at her cry. “Yes. Very sensitive.”

Grant’s arm came around her from behind, easing her back against his shoulder, his lips warm against her ear. “Her clit and nipples are sensitive, too. She loves attention to her nipples. It made her so crazy that almost as soon as I had my mouth on her clit, she came.”

Quinn cupped her breast through her wool dress. “Is that a fact? Passionate little thing, isn’t she?”

Leaning against the counter, Barrett kept a hot hand over her right thigh, keeping her from moving it, his eyes flaring with heat.

On her other side, Mason smiled as he cupped her other breast, his thumb working back and forth over her nipple. “I can’t wait to explore. Yeah, she likes that. We should make her go without a bra. You know, I’ve never talked to other men about how we’re going to please our lover. This is a hell of a lot more fun than I’d expected.”

Spread over the island, and the focus of their rapt attention, Kendra moaned again, hardly able to believe that this was happening. Gritting her teeth, she glared at him, at least as muc
h of a glare as she could manage under the circumstances. “I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself.”

She couldn’t imagine anything so erotic ever happening to someone like her. Her inhibitions melted away under their hands, and under the quick movement of Quinn’s fingers over her sensitized clit.

Mason gripped her foot, pushing it back and forcing her legs wider. “So are you, darlin’. She’s gonna come.”

Quinn’s pressed a hand to her belly. “Yes, she is. Damn, I’d love to have her naked like this.”

The warm tingling proved irresistible, Quinn’s expert fingers working incredible magic on her already sensitized clit. With her legs spread wide, she couldn’t close against him, allowing him the freedom to hold her folds parted and his fingers to move with an accuracy and speed that left her crying out in pleasure and grabbing at Grant. “Oh, my God! I can’t stop it. Oh, God. Yes!”

Her body bowed as she came, the awareness of all four of them touching her, watching her, making it an unreal experience, one unlike anything she could have imagined.

It was like a dream, a fantasy, that she hoped would never end.

Mason smiled as his gaze held hers. “We will.” Sliding his fingertips over her inner thigh and through the slick moisture there, he chuckled. “We will definitely have her naked every chance we get, and I love having her here on the island. We can all get to her at the same time.”

Releasing her clit, Quinn slid his arms around her and pulled her against him, his affectionate gesture surprising her. Holding her close, he ran his hands up and down her back, chuckling softly when she moaned and dropped her head on his shoulder.

“Poor thing. Wore you out, did we?”

Delighted with the sexual tension in his voice, and the slight shake in his hands, Kendra buried her face in his soft shirt, breathing in the warm masculine scent that was uniquely his. “This isn’t exactly the kind of thing I usually do.”

Lifting her head, she pushed against him, relieved when he lifted her from the counter and placed her on her feet in front of it. Avoiding their gazes, she retrieved her coffee cup and stepped away. “Grant and I had sex this morning.”

Confused about what they wanted, or expected from her, she wanted to be honest.

“We know.” Quinn came forward and ran his hand over her hair before moving back to the sink. “We already talked about you and realized that we could have quite a bit of friction between us if we weren’t honest about you.”

Kendra blinked. “You talked about this? You talked about me?”

Grant straightened, running a hand down her arm on the way to his chair. “Of course, we talked about you. We had to sort this out when we realized we all wanted you.”

Barrett said nothing, his eyes hooded as Mason wrapped his arms around her from behind.

Hugging her close, Mason buried his face in her neck. “I would have kicked all their asses for you.” The teasing in his voice didn’t hide the hunger in it.

Barrett raised a brow, but didn’t reply, his eyes never leaving hers.

Struck by how good it felt to be in Mason’s arms, she leaned back against him, aware of Barrett and Grant watching them. “You do realize how strange this is, don’t you?”

Standing there with Mason’s cock pressing against her back, Kendra shook her head. “I still can’t believe all of this. Bullets flying, a boss with gambling debts, a plane crash, and now I’m staying here with all of you. It’s like something out of a movie.”

Mason laughed softly and ran a hand over her bottom. “An X-rated movie. Don’t worry about the other stuff. You just stay in the house and we’ll get answers for the rest.”

Over breakfast, Kendra looked at Quinn. “Do you always do all the cooking?”

Quinn shrugged, pointing with his fork. “Grant had a wife, who had a housekeep and a cook. He can open a can of beans and heat them, but that’s about it. Barrett’s wife cooked for him. He can cook a little better, but nothing has any taste and is always burned on the bottom. Mason always ate out. I don’t think he even knows how to turn on the stove. I like to eat food that’s actually edible, so I cook it myself.”

Barrett frowned. “I bought the damned slow cooker and a cook book, didn’t I?”

Mason chuckled. “That’s because you don’t like to wait. As big as you are, you’re ready to eat your horse by the end of the day.”

Despite Barrett’s scowl, a glimmer of amusement shone in his eyes. Ignoring Mason, Barrett focused his attention on her. “Do you cook?” The warmth in his eyes, and male interest had Kendra shifting in her seat.

Shrugging, she smiled. “I always did the cooking for my sister and brother-in-law, remember? I’m willing to do the cooking while I’m here. I can do the laundry and cleaning, too. I can’t just sit here all day doing nothing.”

Quinn grinned. “I wouldn’t mind someone else taking over the cooking.”

Barrett pushed his plate back and sipped his coffee, eyeing her over the rim. “Jim from town comes in once a week to bring the groceries now. When he comes out, he brings his wife and daughters, who clean the house, so there’s no need for you to clean, but if you need anything from the grocery store, let us know tonight so we can call him. He’ll be out tomorrow.”

Nodding, Kendra finished her breakfast. “I’ll look through everything today. You said that you have other men here. Do they eat somewhere else?”

Mason got to his feet with his dishes and reached for hers. “The majority of them are single and live and eat in the bunkhouse. The married ones live not far from here.”

Grant frowned as he stood. “Stay away from the men.”

Surprised at his jealousy, especially under the circumstances, Kendra smiled, leaning close. “I was going out there today, flashing my ass at them and seeing if I could get a little action on the side.”

All four men whipped their heads around, the shocked fury on their faces so identical, she burst out laughing. “God, you’re gullible.” Shaking her head, she went to the sink to rinse the dishes. “Also, it’s insulting, but I can’t blame you under the circumstances. What time do you usually come back for lunch?”

Grant shared a look with the others. “What the hell does that mean? Nobody insulted you, damn it.”

“Good.” Kendra squirted soap into the sink. “See that you don’t. I’ll take inventory and see what I can put together for lunch and dinner.”

Quinn scrubbed a hand over his face. “Damn, woman, you’re all over the place today.”

Sparing a glance at them out of the corner of her eye, Kendra hid a smile at the look of confusion on their faces.

Pleased to see that she’d managed to surprise them, something she figured might come in handy, she began to wash the dishes. “I told you that you’ve seen me at my worst. I’m independent and used to taking care of myself. I’ve been a little off my game with everything that’s happened, but I just don’t want you to think I’m usually this dependent.”

She waved a hand dismissively when they all started to speak. “I know. I know. All of this is a little out of my league, and I have to admit that I feel safe here. I’m independent—not stupid—and certainly not suicidal.”

Barrett glanced at the others before nodding once. “Good.” He looked just slightly disconcerted, as though she’d ripped his argument out from under him, which gave her another boost of confidence.

Concentrating on her task, she snuck another glance at them, warmed to find they all watched her as they sipped their coffee.

“In other words, I’m a big girl. I know that between the plane crash, and whatever the hell’s going on with my boss, I’ve been relying on all of you. That has nothing to do with this—whatever it is—between us. The sex is good. There’s an attraction. Let’s leave it at that.”

Quinn’s chair scraped the floor as he turned to face her. “Don’t try to convince us that you’re experienced or as nonchalant about this as you’re trying to appear because none of us are buying it.”

&n
bsp; Leaning back in his chair, Grant smiled. “This morning, she had her first orgasm, didn’t you, honey?”

Aware of their sharpened attention, Kendra shrugged, keeping her face averted as she washed another plate. “When I was younger, I had better things to do.”

Barrett rose from the chair and came toward her, and even leaning back against the counter next to her, towered over her. His eyes, dark and hooded, held hers. “Such as?”

Moving away, she grabbed a dish towel and wiped her hands, smiling. “Tony. He’s a sweetheart, and I spent every waking moment catering to his every whim.”

Hiding a smile at the pregnant silence, Kendra picked up her cup and started for the coffee pot for a refill. Turning, she ran straight into Barrett, who’d straightened to his full height and blocked her way.

  “Who the hell is Tony?”

Grinning, Kendra pushed at him, once again struck by his size. “My nephew. God, you really are gullible.”

Barrett blinked. “I wouldn’t count on that if I were you. You’re real close to getting that spanking you so richly deserve.”

  Kendra blinked. “Excuse me?”

Quinn’s brow went up. “You heard him. You called us Neanderthals, remember? You were more right about that than you think. If Grant would have paddled his wife’s ass, she wouldn’t have done the things she did to him.”

Kendra turned to look at Grant. “You mentioned something about being looked at by someone with dollar signs in her eyes instead of desire. Your wife?”

She couldn’t imagine anyone looking at Grant and thinking about his wallet instead of his handsome face, wide shoulders, and incredibly tight butt.

Grant sighed. “I’d rather not talk about my ex-wife while I’m eating. It’s been a wonderful day so far. Let’s not ruin it.”

Straightening, she turned away, making a mental note to get back to it when they were alone. “That doesn’t excuse spanking a woman.”

Mason chuckled. “Women always get all offended at the thought of a spanking, but once they actually get one, they sing another tune.” Shrugging, he took another sip of his coffee. “At least the threat of it will keep you from doing something stupid.”
