  “I love you, too,” she managed to whisper. Hyung sighed in relief and he smiled. Talia smiled too, they looked at each other with a kind of happiness they hadn’t known until that moment. Then, they kissed. Their lips met in a tender touch that sealed the confession they’d just made.

  Chapter 12

  Hyung barely managed to enter the code to his front door. His mind was split between Talia’s lips and the buttons beneath his hands. He would never know how he eventually got it right. But he was happy when they eventually stumbled inside. They nearly tripped over their feet but that didn’t made them pull apart. On the contrary, Talia giggled against his lips, before she continued to kiss him passionately. Hyung’s hands were on her body, his fingers dug inside the thin material of her dress. He was holding back so much not to rip that dress apart.

  Talia gasped when her back hit the wall, Hyung’s tongue took the opportunity to invade her mouth. It sought Talia’s tongue, it invited it to a dance that it wasn’t going to forget for a long time. She dug her fingers through his hair, her fingers tugged at the strands of hair as if pulling him closer—as if that was even possible.

  They were both fighting for dominance, they touched and felt one another as if their very lives depended on it. In moments like that Hyung realized he didn’t even know how to breathe alone anymore, he needed her for everything. His heart would stop the second she walked away. His fingers slowly raised the dress, her legs were slowly revealed.

  Hyung’s mouth had abandoned hers, it was now trailing down her neck. He sucked at some spots, his touch made her shiver beneath him. He loved how she reacted to him. It assured him that she wanted him as much as he wanted her.

  “Let’s go to the room,” she whispered breathlessly. Hyung would have gladly had her there and then. He didn’t really mind where they were as long as she was there. But she was probably right. Hyung had to gather his strength to pull apart.

  Talia smiled and walked away. She took a few steps towards the steps that led upstairs. As she walked away she made sure to look into his eyes. She took off her coat first, she fluttered it in mid air before she let it fall against the floor. Hyung swallowed the lump in his throat and struggled to undo the buttons of his shirt. They climbed the stairs one by one, and with each step she took, Talia made sure to reveal more of her body. She teased him all the way to the bedroom, and like a madman he followed her.

  Talia was like a drug to him. Every cell of his body craved her, it wanted her fully and wholly. Hyung had never thought it could be possible to want someone so badly. When he was with her it was like he was finally complete. Every curve of her body seemed to be made for him, to mold against him and complete the puzzle.

  Once they were inside the bedroom Talia was already naked. She was wearing nothing but her red panties. But he planned to rip those apart. He might have held back from shredding the dress, but he wasn’t ready to do it again.

  She crawled on the bed slowly, flashing him her curvy posterior. Then she turned to look at him. She lay on the bed, her eyes looked right into his. She supported all her weight on her hands. Then, she spread her legs. Hyung gulped, his eyes became wider and darker. He threw his pants and whatever remaining cloths he had and then climbed in bed with her. He was between her legs, his mouth was on hers, his hand trailing up and down her thigh.

  “It’s not nice to tease,” Hyung whispered in her ear before he bit her lip. “It can be a dangerous game.” The second those words left his mouth his finger reached her core. It slipped past her panties and onto her. He felt her moisture almost immediately. It was like a welcoming sign for his preying fingers.

  “I’m ready for the consequences,” Talia said.

  Hyung groaned and kissed her again, while his fingers massaged her core. Her hips were now moving to the same rhythm as his hand, they were both dancing to a specific song that only their bodies knew. Heir breaths were shallow and only getting deeper. The sound of Talia’s moans and cries were like music to his ears. He made sure to tease her, to drive her crazy until she knew how he felt. He made sure to give her a taste of what he had to endure whenever she was around.

  He then pulled away, his fingers retreated from deep inside her, and her body relaxed under him, but not for long. Hyung tore the thin strap of her panties, just as he’d dreamed, and then positioned himself in front of her entrance. He looked her dead in the eye and then he thrust in for the first time. Her back arched, she took a second to adjust to him, then their bodies began moving as one again. They moved against one another, the beat to their moves were their deep and shallow breaths. Talia called his name, and the sound of it made him go faster.

  The two consumed their love. They used their bodies to express what their mouths couldn’t. Words were never enough, so that was as close as they could come to materializing their love. Soon, their love was consumed and Hyung fell beside Talia. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer.

  “Happy New Year,” he whispered before they drifted asleep.

  “He is such a sweetheart,” Talia gushed over the little baby in her arms. She smiled and tickled his sides, making him giggle.

  “He likes you,” Mia said from beside her. “He doesn’t like a lot of people.”

  Talia smiled and kissed his cheek again. That was her first time handling someone so little. Up until that moment she hadn't had the opportunity to hold a kid that young. Little Ethan was only six months old, but he was so smart already. He struggled whenever he was on his back, his legs kicked and pushed in an attempt to turn on his side.

  “Hey there, little man,” Hyung interrupted from behind her. “She's mine!” he warned, his finger pointing towards him. “We'll find someone your own age.”

  “Maybe Talia can help with that.” Alec chuckled as he handed Hyung the beer he'd asked for.

  “We may be friends, but I'll kick his butt if he comes around my little girl!”

  “I'm not even pregnant! What are you guys talking about?” Talia exclaimed.

  “I'm warning him just in case,” Hyung said as he raised his arms in defense, his eyes still lingering on little Ethan. “When is Damon coming?” he asked.

  “He called me half an hour ago. They finished moving his grandfather into the hospital ward. He should be here soon.”

  Talia felt bad for Damon. They'd all surpassed their hardships but his were still lingering. However, judging by the doctor's prognosis, it wasn't going to last for too long. Talia handed Mia the baby and went to stand beside Hyung. She wrapped her arms around his torso and smiled. It was good to be there. Hyung's friends had became her friends too. In fact, they were more than that. They were people she could rely on. After Hyung and she announced their relationship Talia had gotten to know Mia better. She was so much like her. They soon became close friends, almost as close as the guys were. She'd shared her story with her, she'd shared the hardships Alec and she had to face before they were finally able to be together. Their story seemed like something taken out of a movie. It was almost unbelievable. But, hearing it made Talia realize that everyone had a story. Everyone had to face hardships before they were able to get a taste of happiness. Talia wished she'd known it before, maybe then she wouldn’t have felt so alone when she was facing those bitter days. But then again, everything came at the right time.

  “Alec, can you help me change Ethan?” Mia suddenly said. “I think he surprised us with another smelly bomb.” Mia was already halfway to the
staircase.

  “Duty calls!” Alec said before he followed his wife upstairs.

  Hyung and Talia were left alone. They were silent for a second, enjoying the warm summer day. But Hyung broke that silence. He turned to look at her, his eyes came to bore into hers. Their gazes melted on one another.

  “I can't wait to have that with you,” Hyung whispered. The words made Talia's heart stop. Her breath hitched and all her body froze. She was used to that effect by now. It was the effect Hyung had on her.

  “It's a bit too early for that, don't you think?” Talia joked, although deep in her heart she couldn't wait either.

  “Time is irrelevant. I love you, I know you are the one for me. I am lucky enough to be able to support a family. There is nothing that can hold us back.”

  Talia gulped the lump in her throat. She looked at him through her lashes, her lips were parted but she wasn’t sure how to answer to that. He was always so good with words, she never had something to top his.

  “Wow, did I just witness a proposal?” Damon's voice came out of nowhere. It made Talia jump, but not Hyung. He turned to greet his friend as if nothing had been said, the smile on his face only getting wider. “I’m the best man,” he announced.

  “You’ll have to talk to Alec about that.” Talia wasn't sure if she was the only one overwhelmed by the topic. A proposal was so serious to her, how were they able to joke about it so easily?

  “Talk to me about what?” Alec asked as asked descended the stairs.

  “I'm the best man. Hyung wanted me to tell you.”

  “What are you guys blabbing about?” Alec asked in confusion. “Who's getting married?”

  “Hyung,” Damon said nonchalantly.

  “What? When did he propose?” Alec furrowed his brows and looked between Talia and Hyung.

  “He didn't. Damon is just messing around,” Talia said shyly.

  “I didn’t?” Hyung’s question only confused her more. She looked at him and shook her head. She wasn't sure what he was doing, but something was awfully fishy. Hyung pursed his lips and acted as if he was thinking, then he reached for his back pocket. “Then I should change that.”

  Hyung approached her with slow steps and then knelt. Even when he was on one knee Talia couldn’t understand what he was doing. Her mind couldn’t wrap around the idea. It was way too much for her to handle. It took Talia a few seconds to acknowledge the velvet box in his hands. She heard a feminine gasp from behind Hyung, but she didn’t dare look. Her eyes were glued to the man in front of her.

  “Talia, I know our journey was bumpy, that we had to go a long way before we finally had the courage to admit our feelings for one another. But let us not wait that long again. Let’s not deny our hearts the happiness to be one. They’ve been yearning for that from the moment I met you.” Talia felt tears in her eyes, she was hardly breathing, the weight of his words was pressing on her chest. “Damon is an ass. He knew I wanted to wait for a special moment to ask you, but just like always, life has another plan for us. So, I’ll ask you in front of my friends, in front of my chosen family and the people that stood by us from the very beginning.” Hyung took in a deep breath before he went on.

  “Will you marry me?”

  Talia’s gaze traveled from Hyung and then to the people standing behind him. They were all looking at them with so much happiness and love. Mia was even crying. He was right, that was the perfect moment for a special event. They didn’t need fireworks and flowers to make a moment special. They needed special people, people like their friends. Talia was silent for a moment, but she wasn't hesitating on the answer. She’d known it from the very beginning. She was just searching for the strength to say it. She didn’t find it. So, instead, she reached for him and pressed her lips to his. She kissed him without thinking of the people standing around them. There were cheers and chuckles and laughs, but she heard none of them over the sound of her own blood in her ears. Hyung smiled against her lips and pulled back.

  “Is that a yes?” he asked.

  “Yes, you idiot! Of course it's a yes.” Hyung and Talia kissed one more time before he slipped the ring on her finger. Everyone cheered and Hyung turned to look at his two mates.

  “So, did you settle who’ll be my best man?”.
