A Love to Cherish (Finding Love Series Book 2)

“You girls could have eaten before you got here,” I tell them both. Clairabella’s little tongue is out while she practically salivates at our now dished up plates.
“I told her that, but Clairabella wasn’t having that. She wanted to meet you and eat breakfast with you. Who am I to deny her,” Lyla states as we all take our seat to eat.
“This is delicious, Auntie Lala,” Clairabella says while shoveling her food in her mouth. There’s no other way to describe it either.
“Slow down or you’ll choke,” Lyla places her hand on Clairabella’s shoulder.
“Fine, but you’re no fun. Next time I’ll go to Auntie Pres and Uncle Linc’s house,” she says with a huff.
“Sorry about your luck, kiddo. But you’re stuck with me for right now. Noah is sick and we can’t let you get what he has and still go to school,” Lyla looks at me and mouths sorry after she’s done. I shake my head, I’m enjoying every moment of this, it gives me insider information on just how amazing Lyla will be when she’s a mother herself.
“That was delicious girls, thank you for for breakfast,” I tell them when I take my last bite.
“Auntie Lala makes the best breakfast. Auntie Pres hates breakfast, so we never make breakfast there,” Clairabella states.
“I see. How about we let Lyla get started on some work and you can help me figure out what color to paint the Camaro that we just brought in?” I ask her.
“I can do that. Gramps has a Charger and its bright orange. He let me pick the color too!”
“You sure you’re okay with her? I shouldn’t be too long, and if she gets to be too much let me know, I’ll have her color or she can use her iPad,” Lyla comes up to give me a hug. “She’s okay, babe, promise.” I kiss her on the lips and then Clairabella grabs my hand and leads me out of the office.

“I think my ovaries have exploded,” I murmur out loud to myself. Seeing Colt hang out with Clairabella made for a less than productive day. It was worth it though. Plus, it’s Saturday, I’m not even sure why I was willing or trying to work. I really need to re-evaluate my own schedule.
I shut down my laptop, pack everything up and go find the two people that have seemed to steal all of my attention for the day.
“Hey, you,” Callie says coming up while I’m deep in thought.
“Hey! You’re off earlier than I thought you would be. Our girl is off making paint colors with Colt,” I tell Callie.
“I can’t wait to get a look at your man. And, about that, if I don’t have a job come Monday and need a place to live, we’re bunking with you.” Callie’s dressed in her business attire. She’s wearing black slacks, a white blouse, her hair in a bun, and her reading glasses are perched on top of her head.
“That bad?” I question, ignoring the “your man” comment.
“Let’s just say I told him if he doesn’t quit fucking with my weekends, he can find a new administrative assistant, and since he can’t seem to keep one as long as I’ve been there, he shut up and told me to take the day off. But I know him, he’ll be back to his usual asshole attitude come Monday. So, I’m going to get Bella early and take her to have some Mommy and me time, then meet with you girls later this evening.” She plops down in the chair in front of my makeshift desk.
“You know you and Bella are always welcome at my house, but like you said, I doubt he’ll fire you. You’re irreplaceable.” We talk about her job for a few more minutes, both of us stop talking when we hear Colt and Clairabella come through the door — she’s telling him the car he’s working on is super cool and she hopes to have a car just like that.
“So, you’re telling me you don’t want a car like Auntie Lala’s?”
“Nope, I want a car that has history,” Clairabella responds. I swear she’s too grown up for her age.
“Wow,” Callie mouths.
“I know,” I whisper back.
We listen to them until they get to our office, only then making enough commotion so they can hear us. “Mommy,” Clairabella says, running towards Callie, leaving Colt in the dust.
“Hey pumpkin pie. Did you have a good time today?”
“Yes, I did. We had breakfast together and Mr. Colt let me help him come up with a color for a Camaro!” She wiggles out of Callie’s arms.
“Wow, that’s great. Did you tell them thank you?”
“You must be Callie, nice to meet you,” Colt says hugging Callie.
“Nice to meet you, too, I hope it wasn’t a bother with Bella being here today?” Callie responds.
“Nope, it was fun.” Colt comes over to where I’m standing. His hand reaches the base of my neck and he starts massaging it.
“Thank you, Mr. Colt, thank you, Auntie Lala.” She gives us both hugs.
“Love you, Bella. Love you, Callie. See you tonight!” I tell them as they walk towards the front door.
“Love you, Auntie,”
“Love you, see you at Maverick’s,” Callie waves.
Colt and I watch them leave before he says, “I guess that answers my question about dinner tonight.”
“I’m sorry, it’s girls’ night, but I can call you if it ends early and we can watch a movie or something? I have a feeling with Noah, Presley’s son, being sick and Callie having a rough day, it may get rescheduled anyways. God, that feels amazing,” I tell Colt as he continues kneading my neck.
“Keep me posted, if things change it’ll be me and you tonight, babe,” he grunts before moving me to where we’re now face to face.
“I’d like that, a lot,” I lean up towards him, my lips seek his, our kiss deepens, and I’m completely consumed in all things Colt.

I’m sitting at home watching the hockey team when my phone beeps with a message from Lyla.
Lyla: Girls night is over. Can you pick me up from Maverick’s? Pres is staying with Linc and Callie left an hour ago.
I look at the clock. It’s not even nine o’clock at night. From what Lyla tells me, it’s usually an after-midnight type deal, with all of them pouring into one of the girls’ parent’s vehicles or Lincoln will take them home.
Me: Heading your way now, everything okay?
Lyla: Yeah. All of us are tired, think we might move to Sunday morning brunches.
I don’t bother responding, instead I put my shoes on, grab my wallet, keys, and head to get my woman. Hell yeah, I love the sound of that.
Thank goodness for the small town of Shiloh. I’m backing my truck into a parking spot in less than fifteen minutes, making my way inside to pick up Lyla.
I grab my phone out of my pocket to text her.
Me: Walking in, where are you?
Lyla: In Linc’s office, I’ll come get you.
Walking into Maverick’s, the place is packed, bodies are every fucking where. There’s no way I’m letting Lyla walk through this place on her own.
Me: Stay there, I’ll come get you.
“Can I help you?” A waitress comes up to ask me.
“I’m looking for Lincoln’s office,” I practically yell to her.
“Follow me,” she nods her head to the side, doing as she asks, wanting to get to Lyla as fast as possible.
The waitress knocks on Lincoln’s office door before walking in. I take in the woman who has my heart beating out of its chest half the time, not to mention my cock. It’s rock fucking hard for her.
“Hey, you!” Lyla yells, coming towards me. Her arms around my neck, I lean down and kiss her. Wanting to deepen it, but now isn’t the time or the place.
“Hey, babe,” I whisper out once our lips part from one another’s.
“I told you he was perfect for Lyla,” Presley says to her husband Lincoln. He and I have met before, in a small town with us being business owners, we tend to run in some of the same circles.
We walk our way over to them and make introductions, I shake Lincoln’s hand, “Good to see you, man,” I tell Lincoln.

sp; “You too, man. This is my wife, Presley. Presley, this is Colt, Lyla’s man,” I shake my head. You have to love small town life.
“Nice to meet you, Callie already gave me the details. Any man who has the patience to hang with our Bella Bug is a saint in my eyes. She’s been talking nonstop about that Camaro,” Presley laughs.
“She’s a trip, I don’t think I’ve met a smarter little girl in my life,” I respond.
“That’s our girl,” all three of them say in sync.
“You ready to go?” Lyla asks, a yawn over taking her.
“Whenever you are,” I tell Lyla, wanting nothing more than to fall asleep with her in my arms.
“Love you guys, have a good night,” Lyla wags her eyebrows and gives an over exaggerated wink.
“Love you, see you tomorrow at the barbeque,” Presley says.
“Oh, that’s right, I forgot. If you don’t have plans, our parents are getting together for lunch. Feel like being interrogated even more than you already have been?” Lyla asks.
“You’re funny, babe. I’ll be there,” I chin lift Lincoln and Presley. My hand goes to the nape of Lyla’s neck and I hold her there while we make our way outside and towards my truck.
“Can we stay at your place tonight?” She breaks the silence as she slides into the truck.
“I don’t care where we stay as long as it’s together,” my hand finds her inner thigh as we head to my place.

Lyla
It’s been a few weeks of Colt and I alternating where we stay, either at his place or mine. Most of the time, it’s mine. That’s why last night I asked if we could stay at his place. When I was there earlier this week, I was packing my overnight bag to take to my place, Colt stopped me though, “Leave it here, mess up this place. I want the reminder that you’re here with me, even if you aren’t.”
I did what he asked. I left my toothbrush in the holder next to his, my hairbrush was on his bathroom counter. I even had a nightstand where I kept a phone charger, my lotion, and even my Chapstick. It’s something I always have in my possession.
I managed to wake up laying half on top of Colt, literally clinging to him through the night like an octopus. He laughed about it earlier this week, now he just grabs me and brings me into him every night we sleep together.
“Good morning,” he murmurs. My body is still on his chest, we’re both naked. I can feel every hard plane on his body, the taut to my softness. Being around Colt is like being around a live wire, the electricity between the two of us always sizzles.
“Good morning,” my voice is raspy from sleep. I take in the way his face is soft from sleep, his hair is a rumpled mess. His clear blue eyes are sparkling with mischief already.
He rolls over, I’m now underneath him, my legs are spread. His hips between mine.
“Oh god, Colt, don’t tease me,” I moan, my hands are cupping his shoulders, his forearms are boxing me in.
“You want this?” he questions.
“Yes, please,” I beg, my hips move along with the ministrations he’s doing with his own.
The tip of his cock breaches my entrance, I throw my head back, “God, you feel incredible,” I grit out. Colt is moving so tortuously slow.
“You want more, Lyla?” You can hear the teasing tone in his voice. If I had the strength, I would flip him over, and take what I so badly want.
Instead of answering him, I take one of my hands off of his shoulder, moving my hand to my clit. I use the palm of my hand on my center, while my fingers go to the shape of a V and wrap around his length.
“Fuck, Lyla,” he groans.
“More,” I whimper, he finally quits teasing and bottoms out inside me. The stretch and pull of his length and girth, it feels amazing.
“Look at you, working those hips with mine. You were meant to be mine, Lyla.” He never stops thrusting, the sounds of our heavy breathing, the way he’s looking at me, as if he’s seeing the very depth of my soul.
“And you were meant to be mine,” I rasp out, my legs lock around his hips, both of my hands find purchase on his shoulders, his lips find mine. He takes over the kiss, and I let Colt dominate me in every way possible.
“Lyla,” he grunts, my pussy tightens its hold on his cock. That’s when I feel it, I feel every single jet of cum that blazes me from the inside out, triggering my own release.
My own words are blocked inside my throat. I have no words on how amazing coming together is for me, it’s on a whole other atmosphere.
Colt tucks and rolls, never breaking us apart as I now straddle his hips while lying down.
“That was amazing,” I finally get the words out.
“Hell, yes it was,” Colt replies with a smile on his face. We lie like that, me lying on top of him, my chin on his chest, enjoying one another.

Coming inside of Lyla is nothing I could ever describe. The downfall after making love to her was definitely her phone. That thing was beeping nonstop as text after text came in, then her phone started ringing. When she reluctantly got up to check if there was a fire to be put out, I slid out of her.
“I swear there better be a reason the national guard seems to be after me,” she grumbles.
“Fuck,” I groan out loud. I see my cum painted on the inside of her legs and it does something inside of my soul. I want to see her round with my child, the swell of her stomach stretched tight, knowing she’s nourishing her body for our child.
“Are you okay?” Lyla asks while looking down at her phone.
Throwing my legs over the side of the bed I sit down, grab her hips, gaining her attention, “I’m perfect. Everything okay?”
“Yes, mom started a damn group chat with my brothers and me. The news is out, they all know we’re dating, and I kid you not, Mom is planning our wedding,” her face is red from blushing.
“Good, it’s one less thing you’ll have to do,” I reply. The fact is that I know I’ll be asking Lyla to marry me and soon. I don’t want to wait, not at all if I have anything to say about it.
“What?” she drops her phone, looking at me. We’re both still naked from earlier.
“You heard me, let her plan it. You have to know that’s the next step. I want my ring on your finger, our child in your belly, a life full of nothing but making amazing memories,” I confess.
Lyla looks around the room as if I’m looking at someone else, she knows damn well that I’m talking to her, “Are you sure?” she finally asks.
“It’s going to happen, babe. I just need you to catch up with me. Now, you ready to get a shower, stop at the store, and have a family day?”
“Yep!” She picks her phone up, places it on the nightstand, then darts off to the shower. I chuckle to the now empty room before I follow my woman. I already know we’ll be late to the barbecue. I have plans for Lyla in the shower, I want more of her body, fuck that, I need more of her body.

“Nice of you to finally join us,” Silas says as we walk into my parents’ house. I saw the line of cars down the street, it looks like the whole tribe is here.
“Har, har, har. We had to stop and get Mom some flowers and wine for the girls and me,” I retort back at him.
“You better get to the backyard fast, Dad is on a rampage looking for you,” Nash comes in and inserts what I already know.
“I’m going! If you two knuckleheads would stop harping,” I start to walk towards the back door, when I glance over my shoulder. Colt is shaking hands with Silas and Nash, like they’re the best of pals.
“Hey, Colt. Would you mind joining me?” You can hear the laughter I’m trying to hold in come out.
“I’ll talk to you guys in a bit,” he pats their back and then follows me outside.
My eyes clock my parents, a warm smile takes over my mom’s face, and she’s for sure making plans for our wedding.
The disgruntled look my dad has does not bode well for us, “Great,”
I breathe under my breath. Colt must hear me because he chuckles, then his hand is on my lower back as he guides me over to the grill my dad is manning.
“Look how precious they look together, Dylan,” Mom says as she hugs me, then hugs Colt welcoming him with open arms.
“Mom this is Colt, Colt this is my mom, Grace. You know my dad obviously,” I roll my eyes, trying to lighten the mood.
“Colt,” Dad says, yet still shakes his hand.
“Hello, Dylan,” Colt responds.
“Okay, Daddy quit with the intimidation factor,” I tell him as I go up to him and hug him.
“You’re my only little girl, don’t care how old you are. You’ll always be my little girl. I at least have to pretend I don’t like him. What would Steve think if not?” he grouses, talking about Presley’s Dad and how Lincoln and she eloped.
“I think he’d think the same thing you are, you want what’s best for all of us, even those rowdy boys you demanded Mom have,” I roll my eyes, it was really all Moms idea to have more kids. Mom said two was plenty, but Dad somehow got his way.
“Love you, Love Bug,” he kisses my forehead before returning to the grill.
“Love you, Daddy,” I return my attention to Colt and my mother.
Mom has her arm looped through his, and it’s then I realize the two of them must be scheming something. “Good Lord, I’m in trouble now,” I mumble to myself.
“If you don’t quit talking to yourself, you’re going to look like the weirdo we all know you are,” Reed responds, coming to sit down right where I was about to plant my ass.
