Douglas Lain is a novelist, short story writer, and editor whose work has appeared in various magazines including Strange Horizons, Interzone, and Lady Churchill’s Rosebud Wristlet. He is the author of two novels: Billy Moon, which was selected as the debut fantasy novel of the month by Library Journal, and After the Saucers Landed, which was nominated for the Philip K. Dick Award. He is also the editor of the speculative fiction anthology In the Shadow of the Towers: Speculative Fiction in a Post-9/11 World.
Lain is the publisher of Zero Books, which specializes in philosophy and political theory, and hosts the Zero Squared podcast, interviewing a wide range of fascinating, engaging people with insights for the new millenium: philosophers, artists, economists, and a diverse group of fiction writers. Lain lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife and children.
