Terri giggled. “She playing with your dick?”

  “Yesss.”

Mackenzie’s phone alarm went off. “Dammit!”

Glad for the reprieve, Brandon pulled out and reached towards the nightstand to hit the stop button on her phone. “Time to get up, sexy lady.”

“Yeah,” Terri added. “I need to get home and change my clothes.”

Brandon got to his feet. “You go ahead. I’ll take her to work.” He headed to the master bathroom. “Meet me in the shower, Tink.”

  Chapter 34

Brandon watched the sun starting to set as he sat in the parking lot. Daylight savings time had ended days before. He looked at his watch. 4:30. They had maybe an hour of daylight left.

  “Hurry up, Kenzie.”

He had been there for 20 minutes, waiting with the engine running. When he peeked in her office, she was typing an important email to a client. A few minutes had come and gone. To distract himself, he turned on the radio. It took a while, but he found a rock station. Papa Roach’s “Still Swingin’ ” was playing. He tapped a foot and his fingers drummed on the steering wheel. It was a catchy tune.

Mackenzie walked towards her car and smiled. Brandon had the radio up, banging his head to the beat. He was oblivious to the world. She tapped on the window and he jumped. He rolled down the window, and she started. The radio was louder than she thought.

“Having fun?” She leaned inside and kissed his lips.

He cupped her face and ran a thumb over her chin. “I try.” When she stepped back, he reached over and opened the passenger door. As soon as she opened it wider, he lowered the radio. “I got somethin’ I wanna show you. Get in.”

She sat next to him and belted herself in. “Where we going?”

“It’s a surprise.” He drove out of the parking lot and eventually headed north. When they had crossed the county line, he grabbed her hand. “Close your eyes.”

Doing as she was told, Mackenzie asked, “Are we going out to eat?” She was getting hungry, but they had plenty of food at home.

“Nope. Just keep your eyes closed.” Excited, but trying to hide it, Brandon drove the rest of the way in silence. When he parked in front of the lot, he squeezed her hand. “Open them.” He was glad she hadn’t heard him stop at the gate to use the remote to enter the private community.

It took her a few seconds to adjust to the light again. Then she looked around. “Um, baby. Where are we?” Nothing looked familiar to her. Then it hit her. “Oh my God. That’s our house!”

The last time she had seen it, the building was just getting started. The house was up, but it was obviously not complete yet. She jumped out of the car and walked up the circular driveway that was still just dirt.

Brandon quickly followed her. He knew they started, but not how much progress was made. He stopped just behind her and took her in his arms. “It’s real now, ain’t it?”

  “Yeah.”

She was in awe as she looked up. The windows and doors were installed, but there was no siding or anything on the outer walls. You could see through the windows that the interior was still bare. The ground around the building was only dirt, so that was also still to be done.

“It might be finished when we come back from Cali.” Brandon leaned his cheek against hers. “Can’t wait to move in.” He was glad she was excited about it as well.

Leaning on him a bit, Mackenzie smiled. “Me too. Can we invite everyone here when it’s all set up?”

“Of course,” he quickly replied. “That’s the plan. Scott’s dying to see it.” Then he remembered a conversation with Jon Harris. “Hey, if it’s ready in time, Can we have the guys here after that party I told you about in December? The one in New Jersey? I don’t know how long they’ll wanna stay, though.”

Her smile widened. “Sure. It’ll be like being on the tour again but with more room to breathe.” She chuckled, but Brandon didn’t join her. “What’s wrong?”

The memory of all his bandmates fucking her had come to mind. “Only if there’s not another stupid deal made. At our place, it’s hands-off for that pack of animals.” He let out a low growl, damned if he was going to let Jake touch her again.

“That’s not what I meant,” she said sheepishly. “I meant all the fun we had. Teasing Jake and Jeff amongst other things. I had a lot of fun before the accident.”

He turned her around and crushed her body to his, not wanting to relive that horrible night. It still haunted him in his dreams sometimes. “I’m teaching you to swim,” he mumbled, barely keeping his emotions in check.

  “What?”

“Nothing.” He didn’t want her to know how much that night still affected him. “Let’s go home.”

After they had crossed the border back into Broward County, Brandon said. “Hey, I been meaning to ask you something.” He glanced her way and found her staring at him. “In your bin of toys and stuff, there’s a new one. Why’s that one so small?”

“Um…” She looked at her hands. “I was hoping you would let me try it on you.”

He remembered how much smaller it was compared to the vibrator she tried on him once. “Uh, so, I guess you mean up my ass, right?”

“Well, if you wanna suck it down your throat…”

He rolled his eyes when she laughed. “I can take two of Scott’s fingers.” He paused, wishing he didn’t know that. “It was narrower than that. I think.”

“It is.” She was sure of that. “If you can handle that one, then can I try a bigger one on you?”

His body shivered. “I don’t know. Couldn’t it hurt again?”

  She frowned. “I’ll be careful.”

Curiosity got the best of him. From the moans he heard Scott and Austin make as they fucked, he was sure it could feel good if done right. He wondered if Scott was willing to give pointers without getting involved.

Mackenzie was thinking along the same lines. After the first time hurting him, she was afraid to put him through that again. They could bring the toys to California and Scott could show her how to do it right on Austin. That sounded a bit unsanitary. Maybe she should ask Scott if they had their own dildos.

“Would you be willing to let Scott help me do it?” She expected an outright no.

Brandon thought about all the times they had been in a threesome or foursome together. Not once had Scott taken advantage of the situation. “I think so. It may depend on how I feel that day.”

She hid her excitement for all of a few seconds. “Can we go pick out new toys, then?”

“OK. But I get to pick them out right?” He was suddenly nervous. “No huge ones that look like Jake’s dick. Got it?”

Laughing, she replied, “I would never do that to you. We’ll stick to something in your range at the max. OK?”

  “Yeah. OK.”

She patted his knee. “Head over to 441, and go south.”

Once inside the store, Brandon relaxed. They had gone to many sex shops in the past. A few times, they had sex in the theater of their favorite one in Baltimore. He followed Mackenzie around, since she knew the layout.

When she led him to the wall they were looking for, he checked around him. No one was watching them. Most kept to themselves. The biggest thing he was worried about was being recognized and a story coming out about him having some crazy fetish. Since he didn’t know they were going anywhere, he’d worn no disguise at all.

“This is in between.” She held up one that was thinner than his cock, but almost as long.

He blushed as he nodded; thinking everyone in the store knew it was to be used on him. “So, then we have to get another one?” He tried to let the embarrassment go. “I wish I had my Oakleys.”

“Yeah.” She studied the items before her. “This way it’s gradual.” She spied a group of strap-on harnesses. When she reached for one, Brandon seized her hand.

“Don’t even think about it,” he growled softly. “No way am I letting you do that.”

  She shook her head.
“It’s the same thing.”

“No, it’s not. Not to me.”

He closed his eyes and let her hand go. It was getting to him again. Scott and Mackenzie had both assured him he was normal, but he was worried he wasn’t. Then again, what was normal? If I like it up the ass, did that make me bi? He asked himself that question too often.

“Would you rather I do it or Scott?”

  Brandon’s head whipped around. “Huh?”

“I see you fighting it again.” Mackenzie sighed. “Would you be standing here with Scott if he asked to do what I asked you?” She was trying not to say it, knowing he was still embarrassed.

“Hell no!” He quickly lowered his voice. “You know I wouldn’t be.”

She smiled and put a hand on his chest. “Then you’re straight. Please stop doubting yourself. But you know I’d love you regardless.”

  “But I like—”

Cutting him off, Mackenzie put her fingers over his mouth. “Did you forget what Sasha admitted to?” Sasha hinting that he liked her to force him to take a vibrator up the ass was a shock to Brandon and she knew it.

He thought for a moment. “Oh yeah.”

“And he’s as straight as they come.” She tilted her head. “Or didn’t you notice?”

Brandon sighed. “Yeah, I guess.” He knew he needed to let it go. “OK. He checked the wall again. “That one’s the biggest I can handle. I think.”

Mackenzie took the flesh colored toy and added it to the one in the crook of her other arm. “Then we’re done?”

“Unless you want something else?” He glanced at her.

“Nothing I can think of.” She smiled and headed to the cashier. After putting the items on the counter, she watched the clerk look at Brandon several times. “Something wrong?”

The clerk shrugged. “Nah. He just looks familiar. Maybe it’s just me.”

Brandon checked out his boots, hoping they could get out of there before the clerk recognized him. He handed over the cash to pay for the purchase. No way was he chancing giving someone his name. When they walked outside, he sighed with relief.

“I swore he was gonna blurt out my name,” Brandon said as he started the SUV. “That woulda sucked.”

  Mackenzie nodded. “True.”

After having dinner at the house, Brandon tugged Mackenzie out to the lanai. “Beautiful night.” It was warm, summer like. He looked around. The fence around the yard was higher than their neighbor’s window. “How about we go skinny-dipping?”

Memories of drowning came to her. “I don’t know.” She flinched as she saw the world from underwater. Jake’s legs were kicking, and she was falling. “No. No.”

It was that moment that he realized she feared the water. Not once had she come within five feet of the pool. He knew he had to help her over it. “I won’t let you go. I promise.”

  “You swear?” Her hands shook.

He pulled her into his arms. “Yes. It’s like a horse. You need to get back on. Please, Kenzie. For me?” He couldn’t let her fear water deeper than a bathtub for the rest of their lives.

  “OK.” Her voice was shaky.

She closed her eyes. He could keep her safe. If he had seen what was happening sooner, he would have stopped Jake from letting her go. In her heart, she knew that. Yet, she was still scared shitless. When Brandon started to undress, she did the same.

“That’s it,” Brandon urged Mackenzie, and he walked backwards towards the pool stairs. He had both her hands in his. “Take your time.” He went down a step. The water was perfect.

When her foot touched the water, she closed her eyes. “I’m scared.”

“It’s OK.” He came up to her and took her in his arms. Then he lifted her. “I’ll walk. You just hold on.”

With a death grip, she clung to his shoulders. The water got higher slowly. “Please no.” She started crying when it was up to her chest. “Take me out. Please.” She was terrified to move.

“I’m here.” He took another step into the deeper water, but, then she started to cry again. “OK. OK. We’ll sit on the stairs. How’s that?”

She nodded and dug her nails into his skin. When he sat and put her on his lap, she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Bet-t-ter.” Her voice was shaky.

Brandon felt bad for pushing her. He ran a hand up and down her back slowly. “See. You’re safe. I got you.” He couldn’t imagine what she went through. It must have been awful. “Never gonna happen again, Tink. Never.” He would never let her near water without him close by. “You’re doing good.” She had calmed somewhat. He kissed her nose. “You wanna try going out a bit further again? You used to like it.”

  “Not yet.”

She knew the fear was irrational since he was holding her. However, Jake had been holding her too. Then she started thinking about them playing as teens in the neighbor’s pool. It was four feet deep. Whenever she went under, Brandon was always there to pull her up, even though she could stand. Maybe that’s what she needed, to touch the floor.

  “Slow.”

He looked in her eyes. “Slow what?”

“Walk slow. In the pool.” She carefully slid off his lap and clutched his hand. “Don’t let go.” She stood on the step. It wasn’t so bad. Like a big bathtub.

Brandon was concerned she would freak out again. “You sure?” With pursed lips, she nodded. He took her other hand and stood up. “Tell me when to stop.” He walked backwards towards the deep end, watching her.

The water hit Mackenzie’s waist and she shivered, but ignored it. Then it was at her ribs. She pulled on Brandon’s hands.

“We’re stopping.” He hugged her and stayed in place. “You did it.” He kissed her lips. “Can we try to go a bit further every night?”

She nodded and laid her head on his shoulder. “Thanks.”

  “For what?”

  “Making me do it.”

He leaned his head on hers. “I didn’t make you. Encouraged you, maybe. You’re the strongest person I know.” He closed his eyes. “If anyone can beat this fear, you can.”

  Chapter 35

Scott looked around his room late Saturday morning. He and Austin’s four-bedroom duplex had two master bedrooms, one on the either end of the house. They had bought it years before, with the intention of being roommates with benefits. That had gradually changed. At that point, they shared Austin’s room. Scott’s room still held his clothes, but that was so Austin’s closet wasn’t cluttered. Scott spent almost every night sleeping in Austin’s bed since they had come home from the tour.

A cleaning crew had scrubbed the house from top to bottom that morning. Scott wanted everything to be just right for Brandon and Mackenzie. His room was orderly, and he had hidden anything that might make Brandon cringe. The pictures of him and Austin with various partners, as well as all of their sex toys, were in Austin’s room. He sighed, sure the room was the way he wanted it.

“Just hope they let me watch them fuck at least,” he mumbled to himself.

He checked the attached bathroom next. The day before, they stocked it with male and female friendly products. He double-checked his choices. They didn’t want Brandon and Mackenzie to bring too much with them. A three-week supply of shampoo, body wash and stuff would take up an entire suitcase. Things looked good to him.

“Why’re you so nervous?” Austin stood in the bathroom doorway. “It’s just Brandon and Kenzie. They don’t care that you bought new towels. Relax.”

Scott turned to him. “I know.” His focus flitted around the room. “I’m—” He pursed his lips, trying to stop his hands from shaking. “I promised you, though.”

“Oh, that.” Austin hadn’t even thought about what Scott wanted to do while Brandon was staying at their place. “And if he balks at it?”

Shrugging, Scott watched the floor. “I promised I’d let it go if nothing happens.”

“And if something does?” Austin was getting worried. He could see Scott was aroused just thinking of Brandon. “We
ll?”

Scott looked up. “He loves Mackenzie. You have nothing to worry about. The thing with him, with both of them—is just sex. I don’t wanna spend the rest of my life with Brandon. I wanna spend it with you.” He clamped a hand over his mouth. That was not when he meant to say, although he did mean it.

“Finally.” Austin took two steps forward and pulled Scott into his arms. “I love you, Scott.”

Eyes closed, Scott hugged Austin back. He wasn’t sure what to say. Those three words were complicated for him. He felt how happy Austin was though. How could he ruin that by pushing him away?

Austin pulled back slightly and bent his head a bit. “I love you,” he whispered. Then he pressed his lips to Scott’s. “Never thought I could love someone this much.” He stepped back, hands gripping Scott’s arms. “Let me know if you need to talk about the Brandon thing. I promise not to judge or get jealous.”

“Thanks.” Scott had no idea how he got so lucky. “I won’t act on anything unless you’re OK with it.”

Grinning, Austin squeezed Scott’s arms. “I trust you.”

Scott nodded, unsure what else to say. “Everybody coming for lunch?”

“Yep.” Austin backed into the bedroom. “I got the chicken and ribs prepped and marinated, burgers are pressed and the good hot dogs defrosted. Gene and Mom are on their way to help with the potatoes and stuff.” He was glad his brother would get to hang out with his friends. Although he worried Jake would corrupt the 15-year-old. “Come on.”

They walked to the kitchen. Scott was still nervous but wasn’t exactly sure why. Maybe it was because Mackenzie had never seen their place. Or that Brandon had not stayed there more than a few days. He took a deep breath and grabbed a beer from the refrigerator.

“What can I help with?” Scott set the bottle down on the island counter.

Austin looked around the room. “Uh, maybe make sure the bar and fridge are stocked outside. I didn’t check that.”

“Sure.” Scott found the outside refrigerator was fully stocked with everyone’s favorite beer and the bar didn’t have any bottles that needed replacing. “Looks like we’re good,” Scott shouted. He walked back through the sliding glass doors. “Do we have pickles and sauerkraut?”
