Diary of an Incubus

by Diary of an Incubus (lit)

“If you want to keep me around for eternity, why not just make me a vampire?”

He leaned forward and rested his elbows against his knees. “Do you really want to walk in darkness for the rest of your days? To give up food and alcohol?”

“No.” I really didn’t. I didn’t want to give up sunrises and sunsets, not to mention coffee and jelly doughnuts.

“I didn’t think so,” he said. “And I care enough to give you a choice.”

Next, I asked something that had been on my mind for at least a month. “Can’t I have both of you?” I was surprised at the lusty sound of my own voice. Okay, maybe I’d put more thought into this suggestion than I was willing to admit.

I thought Alucard wasn’t going to answer, but then he said very softly, “Am I not enough?”

I slid forward in my chair and looked him in the eye. The whole room seemed to grow smaller. There was nowhere to escape him and I really didn’t want to.

“If I had never known Vincent, you would be enough. And if I had never known you, so would he.”

I never took my eyes from him as I slipped out of my coat and tossed it over the arm of the chair.

“Don’t pretend you do not enjoy the power I have given you. With one word you could end my existence … but with one touch you could give it meaning.”

He reached for me and I slid to my knees. I crawled forward until I reached his feet. Alucard leaned back and I put my hands on his knees, sliding his legs apart. As I knelt between his thighs I took one of his hands in mine and traced the tattoo on his palm.

“I don’t sleep with men I don’t know,” I said. “Tell me about these.”

“They were bestowed upon me by a priest of Ra.”

Well, that would explain why they looked Egyptian.

“And you can control time with these?”

“There is more,” he said. Alucard took his hand from me and unbuttoned the cuffs on his shirt, raising each sleeve to the elbow. He showed me the tattoos on the underside of his forearms. On his left arm, almost in the same location as Vincent’s cross-shaped scar, he had a sun. And on the underside of his right forearm he had a moon.

“Would you like to see the rest of me?”

I might never be able to decide between Alucard and Vincent and I wasn’t going to try tonight. In fact, I was tired of thinking. However I wanted to look at it, this might be my only chance to spend the night with Alucard and I wasn’t going to waste it on thoughts. In that case, there was only one answer to his question.

  “Yes.”

He rested back against the chair and opened his arms in invitation. He wanted me to undress him and so did I. I watched his tongue dart out to wet his lips while I unbuttoned his vest. I pressed my hands against his sides and took a moment to enjoy the way his body felt beneath the silk shirt. The storm howled outside and I could have sworn I heard wolves joining with it in chorus as I started to unbutton his shirt. He helped me slide the fabric over his arms and I noticed another tattoo. This one was on his right arm, near the shoulder. It was a wolf.

I touched it lightly and asked, “Do you have any more tattoos?”

He finished removing his shirt and rose to his feet. I remained sitting in front of the chair while he turned around and moved his hair aside. A large bat was tattooed across his upper back, stretching its wings from shoulder to shoulder. It looked like a cross between a real bat and a gargoyle-like creature.

“And then there’s this,” he said, removing his shoes.

Alucard raised his left pant leg so that I could see a small rat tattooed near his ankle. Each of the designs had an old world feel to them. They certainly weren’t modern designs. They also weren’t in color, all of them were in plain black ink, but they were beautifully done.

“What do they mean?” I asked.

“They represent the beasts that I have power over.”

When he straightened his shoulders and rose to his full height I had the urge to throw myself at his feet. He was thin, but what was there was all muscle. Each move he made spoke of power. As he knelt in front of me I knew that life and death could be found in his hands and I trembled when he reached for me.

“Would you like something to drink?” he asked.

That surprised me. I guess I was expecting him to jump me right there on the floor. Maybe he could sense how nervous I still was. Or maybe he was getting better at playing human.

  “A drink would be nice.”

  “Have you ever tried Absinthe?”

“No, but I’ve always wanted to.”

“Make yourself comfortable. I’ll be right back.”

I watched him leave the room and didn’t feel the least bit guilty for being there. Why should I? We were all consenting adults. I guess my lack of guilt surprised me because I never thought to find myself in a situation like this. Who would? The only bad part was having to decide, but I quickly pushed aside that thought. I didn’t want worry to ruin what might happen tonight.

I curled up in the chair in front of the fire again and stared into the flames while I waited for Alucard to return. I imagined that the flames were dancing and I could have sworn I saw them begin to take his shape. When he re-entered the room I jumped.

“We’ve got to do something about that,” he teased.

He carried a small serving tray over to the bed and when he sat down he patted the space beside him in invitation. I had to stand on my tiptoes to slide up onto the high bed. He sat with one leg underneath him and the other hanging off the side. His toes brushed the floor.

“I admit that I enjoy frightening people, but you should never fear me. Not anymore.”

He placed what looked like a small funnel of some sort over the top of an ornate glass. I watched in fascination as he placed two cubes of ice in the funnel. Next, he took the bottle of Absinthe and poured it over the ice. It dripped slowly into the glass, changing from the dark emerald it had been in the bottle to a pale cloudy shade of sea green.

“That’s neat,” I said, readjusting myself so that I could watch the alcohol drip through the ice.

After a couple of drinks I was more than relaxed and still full of questions. Alucard was reclining against the pillows at the head of the bed and I was stretched out on my stomach facing him. The tray and the Absinthe were between us.

“So, nobody noticed you and this wizard doing what you did? People in your household didn’t suspect? It’s not like you were twins.”

“We did look a lot alike. Believe it or not, my eyes used to be green. The only difference was our height. I was about three inches taller. But that didn’t really matter.”

I laughed. “Only a man would think that three inches isn’t enough to matter.”

He threw back his head and laughed and I loved the sound. There was no magic in this laughter, no creepy undertones. It was just … real and it did me good to hear.

“When you’re already over six feet tall, people don’t immediately notice.”

I wasn’t willing to drop the subject just yet. I was still trying to wrap my brain around the concept and now I was drunk on top of being confused.

“How come you don’t have an accent?”

“I spent years learning to cover it up. Just like actors fake having an accent, I have learned how to not have one. I even studied different patterns of speech, expressions, and different languages.”

I remembered Matthew pretending to be Irish when I’d first met him and Alucard’s explanation made perfect sense.

“Will you speak to me like that, like you used to? I would love to hear it.”

Alucard picked up the tray and set it onto the nightstand. Next, he reached for my empty glass and put it on the tray. There was nothing to separate us now and I crawled toward the head of the bed to rest against his side.

“Would you like me to speak to you about my homeland?” he asked and his accent was pure Transylvanian. I don’t know what to say except it did it for me. “Would you like to learn of the pleas
ures that await among the shadows in the night? Perhaps I could describe to you the beauty of the mountains at sunset. I do still remember what the sunset looks like.”

“Maybe later,” I said. “I’ve got one more question.” I ran my hand over the front of his pants. “Do you still impale people?”

  Chapter Nineteen

“I try to limit myself to willing victims,” he teased.

After touching him that way once, I could not keep my hands to myself any longer. I rolled on top of him and pressed my lips against his chest.

“I am willing,” I said breathlessly. “What are you waiting for?”

He took my face in his hands and tilted my head upward. Just as I had loved Vincent with my eyes, Alucard was worshiping me with his.

  “Who said I was waiting?”

With those words he closed what distance remained between us. He wrapped his arms around me and I was lost. His kiss was hunger, his touch longing. I ran my hands down his sides, enjoying the muscular curve of his hip bones. I pulled back and straddled his waist. He watched, licking his lips while I removed my shirt. Had I known where the night would take me, I would have worn something sexier. Then again, you can’t beat basic black for sex appeal when it comes to lingerie. My bra was made of a sheer see-through fabric. It seemed his very gaze made my nipples grow hard.

  “Touch me,” I whispered.

He cupped my breasts in his hands, rubbing gently back and forth. The friction was a delicious agony, but I wanted more. I could feel him growing hard beneath me. Yes, that’s what I wanted. He started to sit up to kiss me and I met him halfway, wrapping my arms around his neck.

“Take off your pants,” he commanded softly.

I had to get off of him to do that. Since I didn’t think I could remove them gracefully while sitting on the bed, I stepped off to the side and slid them down. As soon as the pants were off he was on me, lifting me and pinning my body against the wall. Though he moved with unbelievable speed, he wasn’t rough with me. His hands were around my waist and he bent forward so that I had no choice but to put my legs around his neck, placing my hands against his shoulders for balance.

Alucard held me easily with one hand while he used the other to pull my panties aside. I didn’t have time to contemplate what he would do next. His lips were on me in an instant. There was no more place for words, only action. When we had danced before his body spoke to me of bad things he would like to do to me and I was more than ready to finish that conversation.

  “Yes,” I moaned.

I couldn’t form a single coherent thought. All I could do was grind against him, writhing with a mixture of agony and pleasure. He did just enough to get me there, but not quite enough to push me over the edge. His tongue lapped at my clit with fervor while his fangs gently grazed my flesh. He pulled small sections of my skin into his mouth and sucked until I nearly cried for release.

When he looked up at me now the irises of his eyes were so dark they were nearly black instead of red. For just a moment he looked human again.

“Do you still want to be impaled?” he asked, still using the accent I found so appealing.

  “Yes.”

He continued to hold me with one hand and I could hear him unzipping his pants with the other. He helped me to slide slowly down the wall and onto his rock hard erection. I could feel my pussy stretching as I slid further down and I cried out, writhing enthusiastically against him.

“Do it,” I gasped. “All of the things I see in your eyes … do it.”

He put a hand on either side of me and pressed me flat against the wall in one move. He was so big and hard that I truly felt like his cock was holding me up, pinning me against the stone wall. I wrapped my arms around him. I wanted to feel his ass flex as he thrust into me over and over again. He moved faster and I was so close to having an orgasm that it was driving me crazy.

I dug my nails into his back. He moved once more, slow, deep and hard and I came. I wrapped my body around him, losing myself entirely to the pleasure. It wasn’t until he lowered me slowly to the floor that I realized I still had my panties on, he’d just pulled them aside.

My legs wobbled slightly as I took off the undergarments and tossed them on the floor. Next, I grabbed his pants at the hips and snatched them down to his ankles. The look in my eyes was all the invitation he needed to continue with what he wanted to do to me. He spun me around and lifted me onto the bed, but remained standing directly behind me. I rubbed my ass against his stomach and he put his hands on my back, nudging me forward. He was holding back with me and I didn’t want that.

  “Do it,” I repeated.

He pushed me down into the mattress with one hand while he restrained my wrists with the other behind my back. In one move he entered me and I screamed. All the while the storm was growing louder. Thunder rumbled, the rain came harder and so did I. It was nothing like I had ever experienced. He thrust into me like a machine, hard and unrelenting until I could take no more.

Finally, he released me and I rolled to my back. He was still standing beside the bed and as he crawled onto the mattress I backed up to give him room.

“Now,” he whispered. “For what I really want.”

He leaned over me and the look in his eyes was nothing like I expected. There was tenderness in his expression and he ran his hands over my body with nothing short of reverence.

“You are so beautiful.” We were both slick with sweat. He placed his tongue on my stomach and licked all the way up to my breasts. “And you taste so sweet.”

I reached for him and Alucard took me gently into his arms. He moved between my thighs, but he took me slowly this time. He let me see him, all of him and it was nearly too much. I cried. The look in his eyes would be forever burned into my mind and so would the feel of his hands on my body. His lovemaking was beautiful.

“Come for me again,” he said softly. “Look at me when I make love to you and let me see the pleasure in your eyes.”

And that’s exactly what I did. Orgasm washed over me almost on his command. I had never had such an intimate moment and I had never expected to have it with Alucard. To know that intimacy was what he really wanted made me feel … loved. Was that possible? Did he love me?

I was speechless. It had nothing to do with being exhausted, even though I was. It was about not knowing what to say after seeing someone’s soul behind their eyes. And who would have suspected Alucard even had a soul?

He rolled to one side and kissed my forehead before getting up. I rolled toward the window and watched the storm. I could hear him in the adjoining room and from the sound of running water I assumed it was the bathroom. I had never felt this way. The feeling was so new to me I couldn’t even find words to express it. I felt satisfied, yet I wanted something … complete, though somehow lacking. I felt wonderful, but almost lonely. I closed my eyes and saw Alucard staring back at me as if he were tattooed on the backs of my eyelids. My heart fluttered with what felt like the first gentle stirrings of … love?

He was lighting candles, I could smell the matches. I wanted to know what he was up to, but didn’t have the strength to move just yet. Besides, I was enjoying the moment. A delightful sort of languor was settling over my body and with the sound of the storm outside I could have easily slept.

After several minutes he returned and crawled up beside me. I had never seen someone so naked still manage to look so graceful. He brushed back my hair, smiling down at me. Once again the level of emotion in his expression gave me pause. He turned me over gently, rolling me to my stomach so that he could get a better look at my back. I sighed contentedly as he traced my dragon tattoo with his fingertips. I really enjoyed his touch.

“Tell me the meaning of your tattoo,” he said.

“He was supposed to be my protector … to watch over me.”

“And guard you like a precious treasure?”

  “Yes.”

He continued to move his hand over the design and his touch was like fire ac
ross my skin.

“You know, the dragon has long been a symbol of my family, a crest. I could be your protector if you would let me.”

  “I know.”

“Nothing has ever felt like being with you,” he said softly. “I do hope you will seriously consider becoming my servant.”

“I’m still a little unclear on all of that.” My voice sounded dreamy and far away.

Alucard lifted me into his arms. “I’ll explain while we take a bath.”

He carried me into the bathroom and gave me a few minutes alone to take care of the necessities. I also took a minute to look around. His bathroom was just as big as the bedroom. Tapestries hung on these walls too, except here there were images of Roman bathhouses and naked maidens bathing beside streams. Candles were sitting on every surface and there were no mirrors. Interesting. The tub was enormous. Instead of being built up from the floor like mine, this tub was sunken into the floor like a swimming pool. It was also three times the size of a normal tub.

I was watching the tub fill when he asked, “Can I come in now?”

“Yes. I was just admiring the view.”

“What a coincidence,” he said, smiling as he walked toward me.

I watched as he poured lavender scented oil into the water and tossed a mixture of dried flower petals across its surface. I felt like I was at a spa. Once the tub was full, Alucard stepped inside and helped me to do the same. He rested back against one side and while he explained more about the whole human servant thing, I rested against him.

“You would become my most trusted and loyal companion, not my slave,” he said at last. “And of course, you would never grow old.”

“That’s always a plus.” He poured some shampoo onto my long hair and began to massage my scalp. Once again, I could have easily slept. “This would make a great story.”

He laughed. “So long as names are changed to protect the guilty.”

  “Of course.”

After a few quiet moments I felt it was time to bring up a subject that might not go over so well. I didn’t want to ruin the mood, but I wanted to know. I waited until he had rinsed my hair before I spoke. I wasn’t sure how to go about saying what I wanted to say so I just blurted it out.
