“Nah, hell nah!” I hollered as the initial officer yanked me up and started towards the patrol car. “I have a show! That shit ain’t mine!” I yelled so loudly that I felt heat in my chest and soreness in my throat. “Y’all planted that shit!”

“Yeah, and I’m the Queen of Saudi Arabia.” He slammed the backdoor in my face.

“Fuck!!!” I shouted, panting so heavily my chest rose and fell.

Something told me to keep my ass at the crib. Shit!

  Mischief

  The next morning…

I was at the police station with Cassie to pick this nigga Kordell up. Chaz was too angry to come, and shit, I was hot too. I didn’t understand how he could get into some shit on an important ass night. I had a feeling the shit had something to do with my father, because that was the only time niggas around here got out of jail in less than a week.

“Stay here, Cass,” I said, about to get out of the car.

  “Why?”

“Because he can see you when he comes out. You don’t want these niggas in the police department associating your face with ours, aight?”

  She nodded.

I got out of my car and entered the building to get my brother out. After signing a couple papers, they told me to wait and they’d bring him to the front. After a few minutes, I could hear his ass talking shit from afar, and I just shook my head. Nigga couldn’t just keep it quiet until we got out of here.

“Better pray I don’t see you in here again, Benjamin.” Some old dried up ass officer glared at my brother as they brought him out.

“And you better pray I don’t let your wife top me off. You know them bored housewives love hood dick.” Kordell grabbed his crotch.

“You motherfucker!” the officer tried to lunge at my brother, but his colleagues grasped his arms and held him in place.

“Kordell, bring yo’ ass on before I leave you,” I hissed, heading out. I checked over my shoulder to see him laughing and following after me. When he caught up, I asked, “How did this shit happen?”

“I ran an errand for Dad and—”

“Are you stupid?” I had to stop walking. “You for one shouldn’t be doing shit for that nigga! And secondly, you shouldn’t be doing shit for him on the day of an important ass show! Chaz had to cancel the shit and how do you think that looked to Static, the fans, and to the venue?”

“I know! I know all that shit! It was stupid as fuck but what am I gonna do about the shit now, Shai? Huh? Only thing I can do is keep it pushing and try to get another opportunity. I’m just as mad as everyone else, trust me, so I don’t need this shit right now.”

Shaking my head, I started towards my car again and he followed. Before we even made it there, Cassie’s dramatic ass was out of the car, and running to him. He scooped her up, and they started kissing like some bitches.

“Y’all come the fuck on I got somewhere to be,” I said, hitting the remote to my car to unlock the doors.

I quickly drove their asses to Kordell’s spot where Cassie had parked her car, and then I went home so I could get some rest before tonight.

I had two sessions, one with Nuzi at noon, and then another at six with Aspen. I wasn’t too much looking forward to the Aspen one because baby girl had become attached after I fucked her throat. She texted me shit that I now knew only girlfriends texted, from dating Laine’s sexy ass. I hadn’t responded to a message from her in days since our last session, and I just prayed she didn’t open her mouth about it. If she did, I would have to hurt her feelings fasho.

As soon as I stepped in my spot and took off my shoes, someone started beating on my door. Snatching it open, I stared down into Brooke’s face, wanting to smash that shit in.

“Aye, get the fuck from ‘round my spot before I pop. On God I will, Brooke.” I was serious as a heart attack. She’d been on some bullshit for almost two months now and I was tired of it. I tried to ignore her but she was relentless and about to make me murk her stupid ass.

“We can’t talk?” she walked in with her arms folded.

I closed the door, and when she tried to venture off into my crib, I grabbed them ugly ass braids and yanked her ass back. I didn’t give a fuck if she was pregnant. Baby probably wasn’t even my nephew so as horrible as it may sound, I didn’t give a fuck about it either. I needed blood work for that.

“Ouch!” she whimpered, massaging her scalp and looking up at me.

“Look, I don’t know what the fuck yo’ problem is, Brooke, but if you go to my brother hollering that I’m your child’s father, I’m gonna have my homegirls from the set jump you and then I’m gonna pump two in your dome.”

“But you know it’s yours you—”

“How!” I roared so loudly that she jumped back and fell onto the couch. “I’ve never touched you! I’ve never even nutted in the same room as you, bitch! You got the wrong muthafucka! I’m telling you, baby, the wrong one! I am not the nigga you want problems with.”

All of a sudden, she started crying, head dropped in her hands and everything. I wasn’t Kordell, so if she thought I was about to console her hoe ass, she was sadly fucking mistaken.

“You don’t have to be so mean. Just because you don’t remember,” she sobbed.

“You better take yo’ ass to Figueroa where you were probably selling pussy and find the real father. Maybe he’s a repeat customer and will show up.”

  “Fuck you,” she cried.

“I’ll pass. Now get out. Get ya ass up off my couch and go.” I gripped her small arm.

  “I don’t need you to—”

“I don’t care what you need.” I flung her across the threshold, holding the doorknob of my front door in my other hand. “Get a DNA test for that kid. I don’t want you pinning that shit on my bro.”

“I will when it gets here!” she turned on her heels but stopped when she felt my gun prodding her spine.

“Nah, you gon’ get that shit before.”

  “How”

“Figure it the fuck out.” I gritted up against the back of her head with my gun still poking her. I then shoved her with my piece, and watched to make sure she left out the gate of my apartment complex. These hoes would never learn.

Nuzi left about forty minutes ago, so in that time I went to get myself something to eat, and then decided to just chill and eat it in the studio room. I couldn’t remember if Teagan said I could eat in here or not, but I was going to, so I guess the shit didn’t matter now.

As I polished off my burger from Shake Shack, this place around the corner from the Static building, I realized I’d gotten an Instagram DM. When I clicked it, I saw it was that hoe Markisha, sending me a picture from Laine’s profile, asking if she was my girl. She said something else too, but the picture had my attention by then so I didn’t care to read.

The photo was obviously from a photo shoot because it looked professional, and Laine looked way too fucking sexy. She was sitting down wearing a short white top that exposed her stomach, and some thin ass black panties. She was doused in water, and her head was tilted back, allowing her hair to fall. The picture was a frontal, and her knees were up, so you could see between her legs. The comments niggas were making had me replying like some crazy jealous ass nigga, but I didn’t care.

Pissed as hell, I dialed her number and surprisingly she answered.

“Fuck is up with that picture?”

“What picture? And I thought you told me not to contact—”

  “Take it down, Laine.”

“No,” she laughed. She knew I was hot as fuck.

“Laine, don’t fuck with me. Take that shit down.”

  “Nope!”

  “Aight.”

  “Mischief—”

I hung up the phone, grabbed my keys, and left to get into my car. I was in Hollywood, so it didn’t take me too long to get to The Model mansion in West Hollywood. When I got there, I parked all fucked up in the driveway, and then rushed up to the door to beat on it. Only a few short seconds went by
before Jude’s short bald ass answered the door with bucked eyes.

“Can I help you with something?”

“Aye my nigga, I’m gonna ask you politely to step to the side so I can go talk to my girl.”

“I don’t think so. You can’t just come to my house—”

The sound of me removing the safety off my handgun cut him off as he stared down the barrel of it.

“Move, nigga,” I stated sternly, finger itching to pull on his ass.

He promptly moved to the side, rushing off to probably call the police. I hit the stairs, taking three at a time, and was elated to see the doors had names on them. I quickly scanned them as I walked by, until I reached the one with Cassie and Laine’s name.

“Ahhh!” Laine, Rita, and some other bitch yelled.

Bursting in, not caring who was naked or not presentable, I darted over to Laine who had jumped off her bed. Rita and the other girl scurried past me like I was a black mama holding a belt, as Laine and I stared at one another. Looking down into her face, I moved closer until her body was touching mine. I was sure she was about to shit on herself if she hadn’t already.

“Delete the fucking picture,” I said slowly and calmly.

  “I-it’s a work photo, Shai—”

“Pick another one that don’t have ya pussy on display. I know you got others and if you don’t then too bad. I told you from day one I didn’t want niggas seeing my shit, especially ya pussy.”

“I have on underwear! And I’m not with you anymore!” she whined like a little child as she deleted the photo and searched for a less provocative one from the shoot.

I simply bent down to kiss her lips a couple times before she pushed me off.

“Next time don’t make me do this. Hit me up when you’re ready to come back to daddy.” I started towards her bedroom door so I could leave before the police got here.

“I’m never coming back!” she yelled.

  “K.”

I rushed out of the house, and hopped back in my whip so I wouldn’t be late for my session with Aspen. When I got there, it was a few minutes after, so she was already inside wearing some little ass jean shorts and a top that barely covered her breasts.

“Thought you stood me up,” she smiled, getting up from the couch and setting her phone on the counter like area.

“Nah, just had to handle something.”

“Oh.” She moved closer to me. “You smell good.”

  “Thank you.”

I went to sit down at the soundboard, and she did the same, sitting next to me. As I started all the shit back up, I could feel her staring like always.

  “You haven’t texted me back.”

“I know,” I replied, turning to look her in the eye so she’d understand I didn’t give a fuck.

“Why though? I thought we had a good time that one night, and the sessions after.”

Ain’t my fault she wanted to suck me up after her sessions.

“I didn’t have anything to say and I wasn’t in the mood to talk so I didn’t text back. Muthafuckas aren’t obligated to reply to texts, you know that, right?”

“I mean, yeah, but it’s rude not to.”

“Being rude is the least of my worries, baby girl. But look, if you gon’ be getting all emotional over sucking my dick, we can cut that out. My priority is your album and it should be yours too.”

“N-no, it is. Yeah, my album is my priority. I was just asking because I thought maybe your phone was messed up. I’m good though,” she grinned, and rubbed my knee. “I can’t wait until after the session though.”

Laughing, I said, “Nah not today, baby. I have some shit to handle. Gon’ get in the booth for me.” I licked my lips and she bit hers, eyes full of lust.

I wasn’t in the mood for no mediocre ass head. Bitch could never make me bust, and the last time I let her go for almost half an hour. I wasn’t into training hoes, so today I was gonna pass.

  Chapter Five: Brooke Wilden

I was beyond stressed and totally over being pregnant. I wish I’d never gotten pregnant, but I thought I was invincible since it hadn’t happened in all the years I’d had unprotected sex. Now don’t get it twisted, I wasn’t letting every nigga that fucked me do so raw, but the few times I did, like with Kordell, nothing happened. Then again, most of the time he did pull out.

Walking out of CVS on Prairie and Rosecrans, I spotted a very familiar black truck parked next to my car. I looked around the large shopping center parking lot, as if someone would be able to rescue me, but I knew it wasn’t happening. Turning my attention back to the car, praying that since we were in broad daylight I would be safe, I watched his big ass get out of the truck and smile. I moved towards him, giving a smile to hopefully disguise the fact that I was nervous out of my mind.

“Get in the car,” his deep voice blared over the whole parking lot it seemed, even though he wasn’t yelling.

“I have to be somewhere and I umm need to—”

“In the car.” He yanked the back door open. I swear if you stacked a person the same height as me on my head, he’d still be taller. And his muscular arm was about the size of my thigh… well the thigh before I got pregnant.

I hesitantly got into the back seat slowly, holding my belly. He scoped the parking lot for a second, and then got in to sit next to me. The driver rolled up the tinted partition to give us some privacy, but I kind of wished he hadn’t.

Staring at the Popeyes across the lot, I said, “When is this gonna be over?”

Mel banged on the partition, and the driver pulled off, headed somewhere I didn’t know. I saw one of his flunkies get in my car and follow us. I hated that he had access to my whip.

“It will be over once you succeed in what I need you to succeed in. You’ve only done half the job, and my people are telling me that you didn’t even pull that off well.”

“It was only so much I could do with that. I can’t control Mischief or his ratchet girlfriend for that matter. If she wants to be stupid, I can’t stop her.”

“Well you better figure out how to do so. Because if not, you nor that baby will make it, you hear me?” he hooked my chin so I could look into his dark eyes.

“You would kill your own baby?” I sniffled, letting the tears ski down my cheeks.

I was pregnant by Kordell’s father, but trust me, I didn’t want to be. It just happened, and now I was stuck doing all this crap to appease his crazy ass. If I could go back in time, I swear I would.

It all happened because I was tired of Kordell cheating on me, and I went to his parents’ house to see if there was a way his mother could talk to him. Only person there was his father, and we ended up talking for a while. After that, he would always make sure I was doing okay, and send me little gifts as if he was just trying to be fatherly. One thing led to another, and there I was sleeping with Kordell and his dad. I didn’t want to fuck his father, believe me, even though he was a halfway nice looking guy. I only did it because I felt like I had to because of all that he’d done for me.

I know it’s not Kordell’s because he broke up and stopped sleeping with me two months before I found out I was two weeks pregnant. It just didn’t add up… at all. He thought I was seven months, but I was only five and some change. I was just eating a lot, and carried big, thank God. Plus, Kordell didn’t know what size I was supposed to be anyway. That was the upside to dealing with men; they were ignorant to a lot of things regarding the female body.

When I told Mel about the baby, at first he tried to deny it, but then he promised me that if I passed it off as Kordell’s, I would never want for anything. My life was fine until Mel realized Mischief was serious about not taking over his empire, and now he wanted to use me to ruin his life.

The first step was to break him up from his girlfriend by making her believe I was pregnant by him. I planned to pop up on her one day, but they broke up before I could do so, so I’m assuming she saw some of the many texts I’d sent at the urging of Mel.

Once he snatched Laine from Mischief, he wanted to further ruin him by fucking up his relationship with Kordell. Chaz wanted nothing to do with his father, so he couldn’t go that route.

Anyway, when the time was right, I was going to tell Kordell that I slept with Mischief and this was his baby. Me being seen outside of Mischief’s spot two days in a row was all a part of the plan. I knew someone would tell Kordell, and then later on when I admitted to having slept with Mischief, it would all make sense to him.

I honestly didn’t know what Mel’s end game was, because once the baby got here, Mischief would find out it wasn’t his and so would Kordell.

“Yeah, I would kill my own kid. I have enough of them and they cause me enough problems as you can see,” Mel scoffed and shook his head.

“I’m just scared,” I whimpered, moving my braids from my face.

“Of what?” He turned to look at me with a face of disgust.

“You, your sons! Mischief told me he was gonna kill me if I kept coming at him about this child. He knows it’s not his because we never had sex!”

“It’ll be your word against his.”

“And then Kordell, he’s gonna kill me when he finds out this baby isn’t his. He’s spent a lot of money, more than he had to, to buy things for it.”

“Who are you more scared of? Me or my pussy ass sons? Stupid bitch.” He shook his head and scoffed again. “You will do what I tell you to until that nigga hits rock bottom! I want him to lose everything he cherishes, and aside from music the only thing he cares about are his brothers and that bitch.”

“You have to promise me that you’ll make sure I come out of this unscathed, Melvin.” I was crying so hard my vision was blurry. I had never been so scared in my life. Mel was psycho and so were his kids. I wasn’t trying to make an enemy out of any of them. “I should have just gotten an abortion—”

  WHAM!

My head flew against the window as blood seeped from my busted lip.

“That baby is the only reason you’re alive and you’d better remember that.” He threw me his handkerchief to stop the bleeding.
