"How romantic, she has a toyboy. It looks serious," Stacey says.

"If I tried that, you would tell me not to do it in public," I say laughing.

"You are a big lug, you know I am only joking with you," Stacey comments. Her arms are folded in front of her. I love making her mad.

"I think we should be heading back to check if the worm has taken the bait," Stacey says.

"You mean if the fish has taken the bait?" I say, correcting her.

"No, Michelle is definitely a worm," she replies.

"I wonder if Ty is back from his trip yet?"

She slides into the car. "I will call Cally and find out once we get going. There is Owen as well, we need to check with him again to see if there are any updates from his side," Stacey says.

"Maybe we should ask him to come tomorrow, a pair of fresh ears may do us good, especially if Beau is not able to be there," I say.

"Yep, it won't hurt," she says.

Stacey removes the phone from the glove box and plugs it into the hand's free holder. She scrolls the contacts and dials Cally.

"Cally, where are you?" she asks.

"I am still at home, Ty gave me a call a couple of hours after you left and said he was on his way home soon," Cally explains.

"I met an old friend today, she is coming to the club tomorrow," Stacey adds.

  "Who?" Cally replies.

"None other than Tina, she has that same toy-boy."

"The dirty girl, so why is she coming to the club?" Cally questions.

"She says she needs to talk to us, but she wants Beau, Joseph, and Ty there. I told her Beau was busy."

  "Yeah, okay.”

"She didn't say what it was, just that it was sensitive," Stacey explains.

"I don't know, maybe something to do with the old club," Cally says.

"Just text me or call me when Ty gets home, okay."

"Yeah, no problem," Cally says as she cuts the phone call.

We reach the city limits, and the street begins to fall into dusk, the odd street light flickers into action, the amber glow growing on the streets as nighttime slowly approaches.

The docks lay out before us, and we take the new slip road that leads to the club entrance, I can see over the water the construction on the new piers. A few years from now and all this area will be worth millions, most of which, if we went that far, would belong to Beau. I pull the car close to the entrance of the spa. The place is busy again. It is truly remarkable the effect the club has in the city. The place is even attracting female customers. It is a whole new marketplace waiting to be explored.

I walk into Shona's office as Stacey goes to the change room. She is at at her desk busy scribbling into a book.

  "Love letters?" I ask.

"Nah, just a quick overview of the accounts," she replies with a smile.

She lifts her head from the book and puts her pencil into her bunched up hair. Her fingers wrap themselves around each other as she rests her elbows on the desk.

She leans closer to me. "What happens with this place if it all goes wrong?" she asks.

"Very worst case is this. Us three have our memories wiped and re-planted albeit in a diluted form. From there, Beau's body could be either my body or Ty's, not that it really makes much difference," I say. "And whoever’s body is host to Beau’s memories, may not actually know you, or even like you," I say. Even I’m confused by the thoughts racing out from my mouth.

Shona sighs. "That is what I thought, and the body will make a difference, that spark is not just of the mind, it is those tender moments, you know?"

I nod my head in agreement. "I sure do," I reply in truth.

"It can all become a right shower of shit," Shona comments, holding her head, upset by the possibility.

"Not under my watch, fingers crossed. There is no way I am going to lose Stacey that easily," I explain.

Shona nods her head toward the door. I turn my head and see Stacey standing, listening.

"I knew you loved me really," she says smiling.

"So, what were you going to tell me?" Shona asks.

"Go on Stacey, you tell her," I reply.

"I saw Tina today, we went out of town, some small place, White something or other," Stacey says.

"What was she doing there?" Shona asks.

"She has that Orlando toy-boy, and… he is smoking, whoa kinda hot," Stacey says with a wink.

I cough from the couch. "I am still here you know," I say.

"Yeah, I know, but you have to admit it, Orlando is hot," Stacey says.

I suppose he was kind of ruggedly handsome, for a toy-boy.

"I have known Tina for a while, she never does anything like that in secret," Shona says.

"There must be some other reason then, they just looked like they were having a fun afternoon."

"And that was it?" Shona asks.

"Sorry, yeah, she is coming here tomorrow lunch, but Beau can't be here, we have to keep one away," Stacey explains.

"Okay, no worries, I will make sure," Shona says. "But why does she want the guys here?" her voice sounding more curious.

"We will find out soon enough," I reply.

Stacey stands from the table and waves her bag at me.

"The bait has been taken," Stacey says smiling.

"Wonderful," I reply. “That romance novel was so-so!” Stacey pushes my arm.

  "What bait?" Shona asks, confused.

"We have gone on the offensive against The Kingmaker, we have planted some dummy information to see how he responds," I explain.

"I don't understand how he would know from here?" Shona asks.

"I didn't tell you earlier in case it looked obvious, but Cherry is actually called Michelle, she is The Kingmaker's girlfriend," Stacey says.

"I never fucking liked that bitch, I always had a feeling she was watching us," Shona says plainly.

"So, for tonight, all your information is up-to-date, tomorrow is another day, however," Stacey says.

"Where is Beau anyway?" I ask. “My bro?”

"He is at home, he is working on his side of the plan, I really don't know how he can figure it all out. He must have the mind of a calculator," Shona says.

"As long as it is all in place for when the time is right."

"It will be, he has Robin, some really smart nerdy guy helping him," Shona explains.

  “Great!” I say.

"I don't care as long as they come out of it safely," Shona says.

"We will see you tomorrow." Stacey hugs Shona and we leave.

We walk past the bar on the way to my office. Stacey stops and grabs a couple of glasses and a bottle of whiskey.

I look at her. She says, "I might like a little drink. Okay Mr. Luva Luva," she says blowing me a kiss.

I slap her ass, the crack rings around the bar area as my firm hand hits the tight denim covering her cheeky ass. As we expected, there is no sign of Michelle in the change room. She must have grabbed the note and gone off to make a communication to The Kingmaker.

We enter the room and put the things on the desk. We sit and relax before we do anything further. I close my eyes and breathe deeply, thinking how things are slowly drawing to a head.

Beau will be set. All his cash will start evaporating into areas The Kingmaker will never find. We will soon have his location once he is drawn out into the open. The ever-watching eyes of Bob will inform us of any update there.

I see a yellow glow coming from the screen on the wall. I open my eyes and see a large pac-man. Stacey has fallen asleep beside me, I shake her quickly and wake her up.

"Stacey, Bob is making contact," I say.

She opens her eyes. We sit watching the screen to see what happens next. A message is written in the dots.

Turn on the TV and the computer.

I turn both of the machines on, I flick to the twenty-four-hour news channel. We watch for any breaking news. The computer boots and a window pops up for messaging.

  Bob is typing a
message. Pings sent from two places and routed to you, the fake response sent and dispatched. Watch for Berlin and anywhere in Greece. Working on the destination from your office where the information goes to. "Hi Stacey!"

How does he know I am here with you?" Stacey asks.

  Because I can see you…

  "Shit," Stacey replies.

  And I can hear you…

Stacey yells playfully, "Get back to work Bob!"

Already doing it! the final message says.

We watch the TV, breaking news is coming in. It flicks to a television correspondent in Berlin. A massive explosion in a warehouse. Firefighters on the scene, three male bodies found, cause unknown. The camera shows the remains of the bodies from a plane view, they are charred to a crisp.

"Damn, that is some serious shit. I wonder how he did it that quick, and who does he use to do this sort of thing?" I ask.

"I don't know, but I wouldn't expect him to have two lots of triplets in the same area, how suspicious would that look?" Stacey comments, pouring us a drink.

"We just have to wait for the one in Greece," I say.

"Here it comes already," Stacey says.

Breaking news. Terror-related attack on a small church. The three monks killed part of the same family. No group claiming responsibility. The fire started intentionally as the three brothers were sleeping. Doors were sealed from the outside.

"There we have it, two out of two. The Kingmaker can respond in a matter of hours and have someone carry out these attacks," I say.

"It is sickening really that he has so much control. Just think how much control his bosses have?" Stacey remarks.

The bait was taken from Stacey's bag. Check for any communications going to out of the normal area. Text my cell when you have an update on anything else. Off home. I type into the message box.

Will do, over and out. Bob messages back.

"Well there is no more we can do until the morning, so we may as well head off home," Stacey says.

"I couldn't agree with you more, tomorrow I think… is going to be a hell of a day," I reply.

“We could make it a hell of a night, sexy Wet Wednesday!”

  “Stacey, we need some sleep.”

"Just call me the blonde with a license to thrill, number oh, oh, oooh."

  “Romance is alive and well.”

  Stacey

  “Shower is calling.”

We walk into the living room. My cell phone rings in my pocket, Cally is calling.

  "Hi there," I say.

"I know it is late, I had to go out and help Ty, his bike had a flat," Cally explains.

"It's never too late for you to call," I reply.

I glance over my shoulder as Joseph is preparing the shower. I see the steam starting to rise as the hot water splatters against the glass walls of the shower.

"Ty has found out The Kingmaker will be back in town tomorrow, but at what time, he is not so sure," Cally says.

"I am not certain if that is good news or bad news, but things may just be over tomorrow," I reply.

"I better let you go, I can hear that shower calling you," Cally says laughing.

"See you at the club," I say, hanging up.

"What did she have to say?" Joseph calls from the bathroom.

I walk toward him and begin slipping out of my clothes. "The Kingmaker is back in town at some point tomorrow."

"Geez, tomorrow just gets busier and busier," he replies.

Joseph drops his pants to the floor, the golden glow of his skin making me automatically aroused.

"I have just seen a sign," I say.

  "What’s that?" he asks.

"The way the light is shining on your body, you look like an angel sent to save us!"

"God, now you’re talking rubbish," he says.

"Maybe, but it sounds good," I reply giggling.

My bra falls to the floor as I see Joseph looking at my naked body. The pinkish color slowly rising from the heat.

"If anyone looks like an angel, it is you," he says.

"You’re just trying to get into my panties," I say.

"You are not wearing any," he says.

  "Duh, silly me," I giggle.

We step in the shower, the hotness flooding over us, the steam and the water splash and rise up against the tiles. I lather my hands with the soap and begin rubbing Joseph’s back, the broad bunch of muscles under the skin of his broad shoulders is divine. I run my soapy hands down the curves of his back, I caress his firm buttocks and run my hands down the backs of his thighs.

"That just feels so nice, I could have a shower and then go straight to bed," he says.

"I was thinking the same, we don't want to be worn out and tired tomorrow, plus you had your fun earlier," I say.

"Thanks for that by the way, it was a new one for me," he replies.

"I tell you what you can do for me though," I say.

"What's that?" he asks, now curious.

I slap the bar of soap against his hard chest. "You spend some time giving me a good lathering before bed!" I laugh.

Joseph lathers his hands and runs them over the soft pink skin of my ass, he moves them up the curves of my womanly hips and lifts them against the taper of my body. His fingers glide over my feminine shoulders and down my arms. The nape of my neck now receiving tiny kisses from his hot and luscious lips. His chin rests on my shoulder as his body pushes against mine. I raise my arms and push against the glass of the shower.

He lathers himself and runs his hands under my arms, his soapy digits running around the curves of my ample breasts. His fingers brush over the rosy, tipped peaks of my nipples as I bite my lip.

My head tilts to the side. Through the misted glass, I see someone in the bedroom. I stop Joseph and tell him to be quiet. I point. We see a shadow in the bedroom. Someone is walking around. We carry on talking as if nothing has happened. Joseph opens the shower door and steps onto the white tiles. He slowly inches his way to the bedroom door and peeks around the corner.

"Can you see anyone?" I whisper.

He nods his head to say no.

"Do you know who it is?" I ask.

He nods his head to say no.

  "Who is it?"

He holds his hand to the side of his body and bends his wrist back and forth.

"I have no idea what that means, it looks like you are ringing a bell," I murmur.

I see the shadow on the floor as the person walks further into the room. They walk level with the door and turn their head toward us.

"Bell, what the hell are you doing here again?" I ask.

I walk into the bedroom still wet, I stand there full of surprise.

"I was never expecting to see you again, or at least not this quickly," I say.

Bell looks at me and smiles. "You do realize you are naked… and wet?" she asks.

"You have seen it all before," I say. Joseph looks surprised to see her as well.

Joseph throws me a towel and a robe. I dry off and slip my body inside and tie the belt around my waist.

"I am out of the club for good. Ty has no reason to go back now The Kingmaker is nearly here, he told Drake as payment for the last shipment, he was taking me," she replies.

"At least you're safe. What's your plan now?" I ask.

"I am having a well-earned rest for a while, I just need somewhere to stay, and for tonight, the only place I could think of was here," she explains.

"Not a problem at all," Joseph says. "There is another room down the hall, stay as long as you like," he adds.

"That will be great, I appreciate it. So, are you going back in the shower?" she asks.

"Nah, early night, we have a significant day tomorrow," I explain.

"No harm in asking," she says grinning.

Bell says good night, and we dry ourselves ready for bed. I climb under the covers and rest my head on the soft pillows. Joseph lays beside me. We stare at the ceiling and slowly begin to slip off into sleep.

  "What
s the plan for tomorrow?" I say sleepily.

"We need to go and see…" Joseph starts to say, but falls asleep.

I wake early and look at the clock. The glow of the numbers reads seven ten. I swing my legs from the bed and head to the shower.

Come on Stacey, the day of reckoning is here.

I grab a cold shower and dress ready for action.

"Come on Superman, time for action," I yell to Joseph.

"What time is it?" he asks.

"Seven forty, we need to be going."

I walk to the kitchen and am surprised to meet Bell making breakfast. She is wearing one of Joseph’s shirts.

"I hope you don't mind, I just left all my stuff there, this was in the drawer," she says.

"Not a problem, so what are you cooking?" I ask.

"A good old country breakfast, a bit of everything that was in the refrigerator," she replies.

"A hearty feast," I reply, looking at her sexy, smooth legs.

"I have even thawed those strawberries out in the freezer and made smoothies," Bell says.

"Very tasty," I say, slightly pissed she used my strawberries.

Joseph comes down the stairs. "Something smells good," he yells.

"It's called breakfast, something you never buy me," I yell back.

We sit at the table as we bring Bell up to speed on all the events of the day ahead.

"If you need my help, just ask," she says. I guess I could forgive her for touching my strawberries.

"As far as we know, we have everything in some order, in our minds at least. The only thing we don't have is an idea of what The Kingmaker looks like," Joseph says.

Bell chomps down on her toast and muffles something, she runs off to the bedroom and returns with a picture. The quality is not the best, but it gives us a basic idea.

"That is The Kingmaker, all the people crossing the border with one of the gangs have to have their photo taken," she explains.

"How did you get hold of it?" I ask.

"It got passed by quite a few hands. It pays to stay friendly with the Mexicans," Bell says.

"We need to show this to Owen and see if he still recognizes him at all," I say.

"We better get going, better to be prepared than finding out something has gone belly up," Joseph says.
