Savannah grunted, “Sounds about right.”
He exhaled a rough, ragged breath, “Are you going to make snippy comments or are wait for me to finish eating crow?” He asked. “I honestly thought you aborted our child. I went insane, I think. I couldn’t see beyond that. God, I never meant to be such a jerk."
Savannah lifted a brow, “Hmmm….”
“But, I realized something—"
“Oh I can’t wait for this.”
“Shut up, princess.” He grasped her shoulders. “I came here to see you and only you. I didn't even know about the...baby. Yeah, I’ve had major trust issues past and present…and I acted like a bastard to you. I even contacted Sean believing you aborted our child not because I wanted to punish you, but because I realized for the first time in my life I truly loved a woman and I pushed her away. "
She heard him say it, but she couldn't believe it and--it stung. "You can't do this, Hexon. There isn't a revolving door in my life where you can come and go as you please. In case it escaped your notice, I have a lot more to think about than punishing you.” She pointed to her stomach.
Hex swallowed hard, "I know. Dammit, Savannah. Just listen to me for once."
"Why should I? I can't sit around waiting for you to make up your mind or brood away your misery. I am not Jessica and I certainly don't need you twisting my life into hell when you begin to question my motives."
"Hell, I didn’t even blame you for not wanting to the baby…I deserved everything you gave me and then some, princess. I went to see Sean and I begged him to let me see you and tell me where you had gone. Your sister overheard us and intervened…and we concocted a plan. But, in truth…they set us both up. I didn’t know about the baby, Savannah or at least I didn't realize the baby still lived even after knowing the truth. My mind has been so fucked up crazy--I haven't been able to think of anything else but you. Just you, Savannah. I came because I wanted you back…not because of the baby...not for any other reason but because I love you. You Savannah. I. Love. You,” he admitted. Oh--he more than loved her…he ached for her down to his empty soul. He’d give anything to see her smile again and find a measure of happiness.
She pushed his hands away in a rush to stand, moving towards the closet, "Thank you. I appreciate your apology,” she said, flipping the light on and searching for her suitcase.
Shocked, words were lost to him, "Where are you going?" Fuck! He just poured out his heart and she rejected him? Oh, hell no!
"To pack."
His molars gnashed together. "Why…? Haven't you been listening to anything I've said?"
She threw out a large suitcase into the middle of the bedroom floor, "Yes, but I want off the crazy train. I can't sit by and wait to piss you off and then have you gloss it over with words of love. Jamie and I need more than that."
His blue eyes narrowed, "Jamie?" He drew closer, trapping her in the closet entrance, blocking her escape.
Tears gathered in her obsidian eyes, "Never mind," she murmured, trying to turn away, but his hands descended on her shoulders forcing her to face him.
"Stop running the fuck away from me. Talk to me. Please, Savannah,” he croaked, smoothing her tears away with his fingers.
She blew out a ragged breath and drew in another, her heart slamming against her ribs. She could no longer deny the truth, “I am having a boy. I planned to name him Hexon James...Jamie for short." She hated how emotional she had become since her pregnancy. "It doesn't change anything. Jamie and I will be fine and I won't prevent you from being part of his life."
"Oh, you are indeed generous princess.” His voice dripped with a measure of sarcasm, his eyes dilated with anger. Did she think he was leaving? Fat chance! He had his princess and he wasn't going anywhere! Ever!
Savannah tried to turn away, but Hexon pulled her into his arms...straight into his lips.
Fire? No…lava detonated, exploding between their mouths in thirsty pursuit of heaven. His tongue rolled over hers, warm and lush stealing her breath and she didn’t care. Every part of her body rejoiced in overwrought sensation of primitive need. God, how she needed him. The inner hussy so long denied her biker god vibrated on the edge of take-me-now and damn everything for just one more sample of his taste…one more stroke of his tongue. Please, her mind begged. Please more.
His heart rammed against his ribs, taunting him in a savage force. Nothing penetrated his mind but his sweet woman over his tongue. Hex vented all his longing out through his lips until his inner prison released. Freedom so sensuous--so achingly violent surged through his body and he fought back the pound of heavy excitement, pacing himself into gentleness. He may not be a gentleman…but he would treasure her with his heart. Yet, his mindless pep talk was lost on the wings of the exquisite bliss of her mouth under his. And still he craved more.
He eased back to lick his tongue over her bottom lip, "I love you, dammit and I want you in my life."
Her glassy, dark eyes gazed up into his with wariness, unsure if she could really trust him with forever. "You say that now…" she hedged drowning so hard in his amazing closeness. His essence on her lips and his scent washing over and under her until nothing but her fondest memory of him abounded with a hard rush of please more. She was exactly where she wanted to be…in his arms…nothing, but Hex upon her—she wanted forever.
He shook his head, "I say that now and always, Savannah. I want you as my wife. My wife. Mine." He shook her gently. "Why do you have to be so stubborn?"
She snorted, pulling back more so she could see all his face, "Do you really want me to answer that?"
He ignored her question and stared hard into her eyes, "Tell me you love me...and that you forgive me for being a jerk.”
She looked away. "No."
Undaunted, he leaned forward and trailed his mouth along her neck, "Say it, princess."
His nickname almost unraveled her, "Stop that...I-I can't think when you..." she whispered as his mouth burned down her throat, his hands flaming up her back.
"Not until you admit you love me.” He sucked against her spring scented skin, hoping to mark her…brand her his.
She sighed against the pressure of his mouth. At that moment, she would sell her soul for eternity with her biker god, “You--I ...oh god. Hexon, I love you."
"Finally!" In a rush, he picked her up his arms, rewarded with a startled gasp.
"I'm too heavy," she exclaimed holding on to his neck in fear that he might drop her.
He tested her pregnancy weight, "Never princess…" he murmured, his blues eyes never still, and devouring every inch he could see. He strode over to the bed and laid her down with care.
Without a word, he stripped her pants down her legs, pausing when his eyes fell on the motorcycle anklet. His heart shredded in pain-mixed-love. He bent and swirled his tongue over the charm, caressing up her knee. “Savannah…” he breathed until all he could do was stare at her, unmoving. "Goddamn...I'm so sorry, baby."
“I never took it off.” She slipped the buttons open on her shirt, tossing the garment aside. “Come to me Hex…I’ve missed you so much. I need you.”
He swallowed hard, his eyes drawn to every sweet, naked inch laid bare before his eyes. "Can you...can we...is it safe?" he asked smoothing his hands up over her swollen belly and leaning forward to place a chaste kiss upon the haven his child rested so sweetly.
His mouth caused a wonderful heat to radiate out through every nerve of her body. A soft smile edged her lips, remembering his one-time reference to ninja sex. “Haven't you ever heard of pregnancy sex? I've heard it's some of the best…now will you shut up and touch me?"
Hex chuckled and shucked his own clothes before joining her and gathering her close, "No need to ask twice princess.” But, he simply held her in his arms, relishing her warm body in his arms.
"Hexon…" she breathed against his skin, her arms coming up to encircle his neck.
He rolled up over her, staring down into her lovely face, mesmerized. “Tell me you
love me…”
“I love you.”
He settled between her thighs, his shaft brushing up against her warm, wet heat, “When did you know you loved me?”
Savannah shrugged, “You’ll never believe me,” she whispered gasping as the tip of his shaft entered her body with a sweet slide.
One of his dark brows anchored up, “I think I would believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy at this point. Please tell me,” he rasped inching deeper into her heat, sighing deeply at her welcome after such a long journey of heart and soul—torment released.
She moaned in her throat from the wonderful pleasure of his body within hers and she rocked her hips upward, embedding him deeper inside her, gasping. “The morning after you left me at the hotel, I rolled over and realized you were gone, but my happiness crashed and burned when my eyes landed on your note. I never imagined a goodbye.” Savannah closed her eyes against the pleasure of having him inside her and her painful memory...emotional pinnacles at different times in her life.
Hex moved with sleek steady strokes, burning her and himself, a strangled cry tore through his throat from pleasure-pain all at once. “God, princess…so long?” His horrified expression bled his pain, suffering and regret.
Savannah nodded, “Yes…" she whispered, drugged on the hard reality of her biker god with her…within her.
Still he pushed the edge of sanity…loving her…loving her body with his tender movements. The moment wasn’t about sexual gratification, but healing. A time of…balm and renewal for all the time they lost.
“I’m so sorry, baby. I really handled everything so badly.”
True, he did. “I have loved you all these months and I planned to come to you with Jamie in my arms after he was born. I wanted to prove to you that I hadn’t done the…unthinkable.”
Tears burned behind his eyes and he didn’t bother to hide it. The time for pride had come to an end the only thing left was her. His everything. “You really are the most tolerant, remarkable woman I know. To put up with me…you’d have to be.”
Savannah was humbled by his tears; she tilted her face, swiping the drops with her tongue, his saltiness cleansing her broken heart in powerful waves. The baby kicked between them and she gave a soft laugh. “Oh, Jamie agrees to that.”
With a choked cry, Hex brushed his lips over her mouth, “I hope he won’t mind…but I’m going to love his mother…the way she deserves. Then, I’m going to start all over again.” His words had a double meaning…but fire captured their substance on the wings of climax. He was so tender, moving with such delicate care within his sweet beauty…for she was and would always remain…precious.
A few moments later, Hex moved down and laid his head against her stomach and Jamie kicked again. "I think Jamie is awake."
Savannah smiled sleepily, "I can't imagine why?" She grew serious, lifting a hand to caress through his overlong hair—the silk soothed her skin just like the man. Her man. "What if you get restless, Hexon...what if…"
He raised his head and his azures bore down hard with his love reflected in his eyes, “Savannah...I love you. You and Jamie are everything I need. You know these last few months, I really thought long and hard about everything. What a jerk I had been--what a mess I made of our lives--how I didn’t deserve you. By my heart, I let go of the past. I only want you with me because without you...I'm nothing. I know I am not the easiest man to love, but you have my heart."
"That makes two of us. I am certainly a diva in the love department."
Hex grinned, "Who said? Line 'em up right now and I'll beat their ass!"
She smiled remembering the last time he said those same exact words. Her expression softened, “Hexon James Montgomery...will you marry me?"
His smiled never wavered, "I'm a betting man, princess, would you like too see how fast I make you into an honest woman?"
She ducked faced just as Katie taught her, "Well, not if it involves strip poker, I’m not feeling very sexy lately…not since the Pillsbury Doughboy and I can share clothes,” she said dryly.
He shook his head in a flat refusal, “You’re beautiful…sexy and my forever, Savannah.”
“Just don't take too long, I am pregnant--my honor is at stake," she said with a wink, reaching for his hard shaft and smiled when he hissed with pleasure.
His hips rocked against her hand, never able to get enough of her. A small laugh escaped his lips, "Oh I plan to remedy that, princess." Hex he moved over her again…and pushed his erection up against her entrance—ready for her again, "Shall we see how fast I can make you scream for mercy?"
Savannah bit down lightly on his lower lip as he inched closer, "Mmmm, only if I can return the favor."
Hex’s mouth took hers for a few breathless moments, “I'd have it no other way…on second thought...there are other positions we haven’t tried yet," he murmured, nuzzling her neck.
She sighed in the pleasure of his caress, shifting to accommodate his entry, her hands smoothing up over his tattooed shoulders, "I'm not opposed, biker god...now…make love to me...and make it forever."
Blue fire lit within his azure eyes, reflecting all his love, “Forever, princess…”
Downstairs…the phone rang, but neither moved nor cared to answer it.
Epilogue
A year later
The wind blew gently over the fresh September morning at the Montgomery sci-fi as dubbed by Mrs. Hexon James Montgomery. Sunlight gleamed off the Olympic size pool in the backyard with sounds of family and friends gathering for a Labor Day barbeque. Their laughter wafted on the air filled with happiness and so much love abounded from the heart of the one-time bachelor pad. It was hard to recall emptiness ever existed within its walls.
Hex sat in his favorite place...with his feet propped up on the balcony as he had a million times before. Only this time, he wasn’t holding conflicting thoughts or drowning his sorrow in tons of beer. He held seven-month-old Jamie…snuggled up against his chest, enjoying the fine mid-morning breeze drifting over them.
“Here’s the deal, little man,” he said stroking the fine black hair on his son’s head. “This month is the anniversary of my end of stupidity. Sure, not my finest moments, but I’m going to share a little secret. Women are the hardest to understand, but the loveliest of beauties—especially your mother. And for me…it’s only her—she’s worth every sweetness in the world. You and I are going to make a packed, little man…a promise to always take care of her—love her and always keep a smile on her face.” He turned Jamie in his arms, smiling as his son grinned—his eyes reflected the same azure blue.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” Hex smiled, kissing each smell-sweet cheek of his son.
“Hey you two…everybody is here,” Savannah said from behind them and walked up to wrap her arms around Hex’s neck, planting a kiss on his cheek.
He winked at Jamie, his son cooed. “We’re finished up here, princess.”
“Good because Ricardo just arrived and wants to set up the barbeque.” She smiled, smoothing Jamie’s cheek affectionately, her heart overflowing with love for both her favorite men.
From behind, Jagger walked up, “S…did you find them?” he asked strutting in casually and whisking Jamie into his arms without ceremony. “Ah…there you are monster! Hiding up here when there are so many cute girls downstairs? Aunt Katie just brought a cake…we better go to have a taste,” he murmured leaving in a rush, ignoring everyone but his little nephew.
Savannah started forward after them, “Jay, wait! Jamie can't—”
Hex grabbed her around the waist, hauling her into his lap…her laughter abounded and his heart swelled with pleasure. He wasted no time cutting off any words she might have said with his mouth on hers. Finally, he drew back, rubbing his lips back and forth, “I love you, Savannah.”
An elegant black brow went up and her smile always in place for her biker god, “I love you too. Always. What were you and Jamie talking about before I walked in?”
He shrug
ged, his chest puffing with pride, “Man business.”
She giggled and her hands traveled up his chest and looped around his neck, caressing his hair. “I bet I can offer up some couple’s business,” she volunteered, now having gained enough practical experience to probably write a couple of books.
A sexy grin split his lips, “I’m sure you can…but with a house full of guests, we may have to wait until later.” His hands moved to caress her hips with warmth of man…wanting his woman. “But, I’m never opposed…I have an amazing flare for ninja, baby.”
She couldn’t help but laugh, “I totally agree, but what I have to offer isn’t necessarily in the form of skin to skin action, biker god.”
Hex frowned, pulling back to eye his wife, “What?”
Her dark eyes gleamed with amusement, “Do you remember our family vacation to Jamaica last month?”
He tilted his head to the side, eyeing his wife, “Do I ever. A repeat performance wanted by far, princess. Why?” He cupped one of her breasts, flicking his finger over her nipple—her sigh definite music to his thirsty desire. The memory of his sweet beauty atop a blanket on the sand remained burned forever in his memory. His body tightened at the thought, wanting more. Always more with her.
She leaned close to his ear, flicking her tongue over his lobe, “Because we made more than just a few memories, Hexon. We are going to have another baby,” she whispered and leaned back to watch his reaction.
Stunned silence ensued…and Hex stilled…his face paled, and then filled with a warm flush of red. After a few moments, he breathed, cupping his wife’s face, “Dear God…” he said raggedly brushing his lips over hers. “You are wonderful, do you know that? But, are you okay? Do we need to see the doctor? And soon…oh my god…is it too soon for you? I mean you just had Jamie seven months ago--”
She placed a finger over his lips, “Yes, but I love it when you tell me. I am okay and no, I already went. It’s not too soon,” she said with an impish wink, answering all his questions. “So, are you happy? Or do I need to air out the Merrick mansion in LA?”
