Be A Doll

But like everything with Mathis Grimes, he wouldn’t let me.

He did the very opposite to what I wanted and broke the kiss. I opened my eyes and stared at him through heavy lids. I was met with his dazed look and my stupid heart did something strange like cartwheels in my chest.

Both of us heaving, our hands still on each other, we didn’t move for a few seconds until his hands left my hair to stop at my shoulders. He put pressure on them until I leaned back.

Somewhere, somehow, I was aware that I should be slightly self-conscious to be sprawled on the couch in my husband’s office during lunch break with my hair probably a mess and my clothes askew while, and with just a quick glance down his incredible body, my husband sported a very impressive erection tenting his smart slacks. But I didn’t care that we were in his office. I didn’t care if people would be back to their cubicles and offices close by. I didn’t care if doubts would creep in later on once the madness evaporated.

All I cared about was the fire burning inside me, a fire that had nothing to do with self-preservation or surviving instincts for once. That fire was the promise of sex. It was also the promise of my demise.

Lying on the couch with my legs still on the floor, I stared at Mathis. His chest expended with each of his hard breaths, stretching his white button-down to its limits. His cheeks usually fair like the rest of his skin were now flushed. It was yet another sign of his desire, the pleasure he wanted to seek. It was further proof that no matter how brash I was with him, he still wanted me. For some reason it was important to me and it made me want him more.

With a possessive hand, he hiked up my skirt and grabbed my right leg under my thigh, his fingers dangerously high, and pulled it on the couch before hovering over me.

First, we weren’t touching elsewhere but our legs. My naked legs brushed against the fabric of his dark slacks and even though I perceived his heat underneath, it wasn’t enough.

Then, he put more weight on his forearms on either side of my face and dropped over me. That’s when it became harder to keep quiet and still.

His hard cock pushed into me, right where my clit was so sensitive that I knew I didn’t need much to come. I bit my lower lip to keep most of my moan inside, but it was a futile attempt. A low sound passed through my lips anyway and it conjured up his trademark smirk. I couldn’t look away from his mouth.

“The sounds you make…’’ he said hoarsely barely above a whisper and trailed off. “How you feel underneath me…’’ He shook his head then and his dimple deepened. He pushed his hard cock into me once again, giving me a brief idea of what to expect without the obstruction of our clothes and it stole my breath as my heart stuttered. His own breathing accelerated again and his brows bunched over the dark pool of his eyes.

But beyond the way his erection felt against me, it was the way his big body covered me completely that had me surrendering and without any restriction as if my complaints and vows from a few days ago and reiterated that very morning, had never occurred.

My eyes on his, my lip between my teeth, my hips moving with his, the pleasure was so intense sounds escaped me without me noticing until he put a hand forcefully over my mouth.

“I want to hear you scream, but right now I don’t want my employees to know I’m dry humping my wife like a fucking teenager,’’ he grated through gritted teeth, a low moan leaving him without his consent halfway through his sentence. “Shit, I need to fuck you, Lila. Now. Here.’’

My hands balled his button-down on his back in a desperate sign that I wanted it off him so I could feel his skin, let his heat seep through me and bask myself in him while I abandoned all senses and myself to this crazy lapse in judgment.

That’s when, right when he was about to pull away to get his shirt off, or maybe mine, that someone knocked at the door quite loudly.

We both froze, Mathis with his cock pressed against my throbbing clit, and me with my hands still trying to tear off my husband’s clothes. I bet my eyes were round like saucers as my body battled between arousal and fear of being caught in such a compromising position. Mathis’ face first showed surprise, but then annoyance won out as he pulled away and sat on his haunches, giving me some room on the couch to sit up and fight with my skirt to get it back into place to cover my legs.

  The person knocked again.

“You better do something with your hair. You look like you’ve been thoroughly fucked,’’ Mathis said with a cold voice as he glared at his button-down now wrinkled and half out of his slacks.

I scowled at him and quickly ran my fingers through my strands. I ignored how they trembled and how hot I felt, in all the senses of the word, and instead focused on Mathis as he stood up to put some order to his clothes. But with our position of me sitting and him standing next to me, I had a frontal view of his hard cock pressing against the fabric of his slacks, making it impossible to miss the big and hard evidence of his arousal.

I daintily pointed at his crotch and arched an eyebrow at my husband. “You better do something with your cock.’’

He smirked down at me and put his hands on his lean hips, as if showcasing without any shame his erection. In his eyes, the coldness that seeped in when the person knocked at the door seemed to recede some.

  “Are you offering assistance, Lila?’’

“There’s someone at the door!’’ I whisper-yelled and jumped to my feet, tugging my skirt further down and straightening up as if nothing naughty had just occurred and just as if to give me reason, the person knocked again, louder and longer this time.

“Mathis! I know you’re in there, so open up man. It’s important and I’m not missing my lunch break for nothing.’’

Mathis’ head snapped to the door and the coldness basked him and iced me, killing off the last bouts of lust to leave behind only shame for my stupid behavior.

  “Come in, Chance.’’

The door opened to a tall, blonde man, the same one I recognized from the wedding ceremony standing next to Mathis. I remembered him to be Mathis’ closest and oldest friend according to Megan. It was obvious that man must attract quite a lot of female attention and where Mathis’ dark sex appeal was quite entrancing, Chance’s easy smile and good-natured predisposition made him appear a lot more approachable. But then again, I didn’t know the man and only exchanged a few formalities on the wedding day.

When Chance’s blue eyes found me over the shoulder of his friend, his lips stretched wide into a smile that would have been pleasant in any other situation. Right now, it made me feel three feet tall. Where was my poise?

“Now, I see why you took your time to tell me to come in.’’ He then fixed his friend a look and while I saw my husband tensing, Chance didn’t seem impressed in the slightest. “I hope I didn’t interrupt at a bad… ah… time.’’

Oh. My. God. Please, kill me now.

My face went up in flames as I hurried to the chair in front of Mathis’ desk to gather my things. I was ready to bolt and hide. It was one thing to know that people assumed I was having sex with my husband, but it was something else to be stuck in the situation and be caught right when I was begging my husband to take me as if I had no self-esteem.

“You could have had better timing,’’ Mathis said calmly, rounding his desk and sitting regally as I shouldered my purse. I felt his eyes on me. In fact, I felt both men’s stares weighing on me. “We’ll resume tonight, Lila. I’ll be back home early.’’

  Resume tonight?

I blinked at Mathis and shook my head, both to regain coherent thoughts and to deny his meaning. His only answer was to trace his lower lip while still staring at me. I pulled back my shoulders and then turned around, offering a fake smile through my embarrassment to Chance and bid my goodbyes to both men before I stalked out on teetering heels and wobbly legs while my core still wept from the lack of action it got.

I had to remember that sex was just sex. It was hormonal, didn’t have to be linked to any emotions. I couldn’t escape sex and r
ight now I didn’t want to.

I’d have sex tonight and then Mathis would resume his life, starting with extra-marital sex while I’d focus on the day to day life until came the date when I could get a divorce with a few million to my bank account to start a new and quiet life away from all of this.

I had been delusional thinking sex would never happen.

  MATHIS

As soon as the door closed after Lila, I reclined in my desk chair and sighed as I exchanged a look with my oldest friend Chance. Chance and I met back freshman year at Harvard. He had been the first one, and probably the only one, not deterred by my cold behavior and my insane drive to make it big in the business world as quickly as humanly possible. It was a good thing that all people attending Harvard happened to be driven.

Chance’s blue eyes danced as he waggled his eyebrows at me and laughed when my eyes narrowed. He had never been very impressed by me and it’s something I secretly appreciated, but at that very moment, I only wanted to punch away that damn cocky smile. Sexual frustration wasn’t a good color on me. Just like blue balls weren’t.

“Get it out now so we can talk business,’’ I muttered dismissively and pinched the bridge of my nose while I winced when my hard cock pushed against the zipper of my slacks.

Just thirty minutes or so more and I’d have fucked my wife. I’d have finally discovered if her pussy was as tight as I imagined. I’d have finally heard my name coming from her mouth when she orgasmed. I’d have finally experienced her fire with nothing between us, not even clothes to hinder my exploration of her.

Just thirty more minutes and my curiosity would have been quenched and maybe, maybe, I’d be back to normal and she’d be no more interesting to me than any other woman. Wife or not.

“She must be something if you can’t keep your hands off of her at work. It’s not your style, man,’’ Chance said in observation and grabbed some files from his briefcase, but soon enough his laughing eyes found mine.

In any other circumstance, meaning that if it had been about any random woman, I’d be smirking and exchanging a few disrespectful words with him, but in this case it was about my wife. I wanted to fuck her to move on, but the fact remained; she was my wife and she would still be my wife for the foreseeable future.

“Don’t push me, Chance,’’ I warned in a voice that didn’t leave any space to argue.

He shrugged and shook his head, not once losing the amusement in his eyes. That man while very professional and smart in his work, was always taking everything as a joke, women most of all and because he was so charming and compelling, they usually didn’t hold it against him when he put the brakes on any type of ‘relationship’ he was in.

“Blue balls don’t improve your disposition. Can’t blame you.’’ He pointed at the door Lila closed behind her. “She’s a stunner. You picked good at that marital agency or whatever that is you got her from.’’

I glared at him, a man I’d known for years, the exception to my rules of keeping people at a distance and put my elbows on my desk, leaning forward. “She’s off-limits. You don’t even lay a finger on her.’’

He stiffened and glared right back, but with his bronzed skin, blonde hair and clear blue eyes, it didn’t have the same kind of potency as it did when I had the same expression on my face. “I would never touch a woman already taken, even if she’s only bound by a damn contract to protect your business ventures and your need to give your mother what you think she’d have had with your brother.’’

“Be careful of what you’re saying,’’ I said through clenched teeth. My hands were closed into tight fists and every muscle in my body contracted. He knew not to go there.

“The truth you mean? Oh come on, it’s obvious that you married that woman also because of your brother and your mother. She’s always hinting at you settling down and from what you’ve said about your brother, it doesn’t take a genius to realize that you wanted to give that to your mother because of Max.’’

“You have no idea of what you’re talking about. Friend or not, remember who I am, Chance.’’ I stood up and turned around, breathing too fast. I fixed on the view outside with all the tall skyscrapers gleaming in the daylight. There was nothing better than to bring up my deceased brother to kill a boner.

I breathed deeply and forced the anxiety to subside, forced my muscles to relax and my head to empty to keep only business related topics. In this office, nothing but work mattered. Nothing but work existed. Nothing could get to me.

  Not my wife.

  Not my mother.

  Not Chance.

  Not my father.

  And not my brother.

I was the master of this universe. I had control. I was the one ruling here.

I nodded to myself and turned back around and saw Chance rubbing his forehead with that same movement he had always had when he was regretting something or getting ready to apologize. I held up a hand when he opened his mouth and sat again.

“Save it. Let’s get back on track. What do you have for me?’’

He stared at me a beat longer, but unlike most people, I didn’t feel the urge to twist in my seat or drop my eyes to avoid his examination. I remained perfectly still, eyes on his almost daring him to bring a subject up I never talked about.

But he proved to me he’s not completely stupid and brought the files he had in his hands to the desk and opened one. The logo of a company I had been working hard to acquire for the past four months caught my attention.

“It’s looking up with the company making GPS chips. Old man Tober canceled his next appointment with Hartmann and he didn’t give a counteroffer to Hartmann.’’

I leaned back in the chair as appreciation filled me, chasing away the last remnants of my close encounter with an anxiety attack. Now, my mind was fully on this new development.

“It’s funny how it happens right when word got out that I’m a married man now. I told you it would work. An old man like Tober is old school. He was already warming up to me when we broke the news regarding my engagement to Lila.’’

Garry Tober was the head of a company making GPS chips and while the business was thriving, old Tober got the word out a year ago that he wanted to retire and get his company bought for a hefty price and a good business plan. Considering he had no kids or family members to get in the business and because he was firmly attached to family values, Tober wanted to sell his company not only to the best bidder and with a real vision for his company, but to a man he thought showed what he thought was important; a balance between business and personal life.

A few months ago, I realized that my drive to succeed in my work and my lack of a wife waiting at home bothered him greatly. He was one of the main reasons why I had made the decision to find a wife to marry for the time being and that idea became only more burning when my business relationships with others deteriorated when rumors started to get out regarding my lack of interest in settling down, my overeager use of women to discard them in my next breath and my excessive drive regarding my work, thought unhealthy. That, plus my young age and I was stagnating. I couldn’t have that. I wouldn’t.

My business was all I had and I didn’t care if it was unhealthy or if I was judged for it, but I wouldn’t let my intense workaholic disposition compromise my business and the plans I had for GM Enterprises. That would be quite laughable to be shunned because I was a hard worker.

“Don’t think it’s a done deal yet,’’ Chance warned me and handed me the files. “In here you have the last business plan and projections for the next six months for Tober’s company and a few other things regarding business deals in shambles now that it’s well known he’s retiring.’’

“It’s no surprise.’’ I grabbed the files and also found Chance’s reports regarding the financial states of a few subsidiary companies I own and a few that Tober’s company works with. As usual, Chance was ever efficient and thorough. There hadn’t been a day when I had regretted hiring him as CFO, both for his skills
needed for such a position, but also for his sneakiness in gathering information thanks to his amicable behavior. “A company changing hands always goes through a tough time. That’s why we need to hurry things up.’’

“Speaking of, I heard that you’re going to get Moran’s company. Hostile takeover, Mathis, really?’’

I shrugged and offered him my trademark cold smirk. “He opened his trap where he shouldn’t have and as a perk I’m screwing with my father indirectly.’’

“It’s not exactly like you to act in spite.’’

He wasn’t entirely wrong there. While I had already made drastic choices when stepped on the wrong foot by someone, it was always with the sole purpose to further my empire. Here, with Moran, it was more of a yelled ‘fuck you’ than anything else, even though it wouldn’t hurt my company if everything went according to plan.

“I’m entitled to a few…’’ I trailed off looking for the right word but failed. “Let’s just say that I hate the man and he ran his mouth where he shouldn’t have. It only helps the role of infatuated husband I have to incarnate anyway.’’

“It’s about your wife, then.’’ He chuckled and stood up, buttoning his gray suit jacket. “Interesting. Careful there, man. In no time I’ll be thinking you have a soft spot for your wife.’’

It was on the tip of my tongue to reply with something biting, but instead I remained stoic and nodded at my friend as he left my office on a laugh. I didn’t care what he thought because it wasn’t true. I was only going through a hard time acclimating and the lack of sex wasn’t helping anything.

The fascination I had for Lila had nothing to do with infatuation and my need to be inside her was only natural. She was a beautiful woman and the spirit in her was all the more attractive.

I glanced at the clock on my computer screen and cursed.
