“There are things I’m better at than Trick.”

“I can’t comment on that. I’ve never been to bed with him.”

Ash growled. “You have to trust me on that one. Besides, Trick is head over heels in love with his wife, Kaylee.”

Cassidy kissed him. “I wish you had more condoms.”

“Me too. What am I supposed to do with this?” he asked as he pressed his hard cock against her.

Cassidy pushed at his shoulders, and he rolled to his back. She straddled him and ran her nails down his chest making him hiss in a breath. He looked up to see her smiling down at him.

“What are you thinking?” he asked.

She laughed. “Oh, about something I want to do to you.”

Ash groaned. “Damn, darlin’. Don’t say things like that.”

She leaned down and ran her tongue over his nipples, down his pecs, to his rippled stomach. Ash fisted his hands in her hair. Her hair was beautiful hanging down around her shoulders to the middle of her back. It was so soft, and he loved wrapping his hands around it.

He moaned when she slid down his thighs, and began kissing the head of his hard cock. Fuck! He wondered if this was how he’d die because he wasn’t sure he could take the pleasure of feeling Cassidy’s mouth on him without it killing him.

  “Cassidy,” he groaned.

“What? I’m busy here, cowboy. Hold on,” she murmured, throwing his words back at him, making him chuckle.

“When did you become so wicked?”

Her laughter vibrated against his dick, and he had to clench his jaw to keep from coming too fast. He was like any other man. He enjoyed blowjobs but with Cassidy doing it, he was afraid he was going to come too soon, like a horny teenager. Hell that was exactly how he felt right now. When she licked him from base to tip like a lollipop, he groaned and arched his hips. Son of a bitch! If she didn’t stop, he was going to embarrass himself.

“I’ve only done this once before and I hated it but for some reason, I really like having this power over you. I bet I could ask you for anything right now and you’d give it to me, right?” She laughed again and grinned up at him.

“Holy hell, Cassidy. You’re killing me.”

She licked him again. “What could I ask for I wonder?”

Ash moaned. “Anything. Anything you want, just don’t stop.”

Her mouth slipped down over him, and she sucked hard. Ash fisted his hands in the sheets. He let out a relieved breath when she raised her head and looked at him. Lifting his head, he looked down at her. She held his dick in her hand and stared at him.

“I want to go over every inch of you, Ashford Beckett. I think I could make you beg, but I won’t. I’ll just get back to it.” She kept her eyes locked with his while she took him in her mouth again.

Ash dropped his head back onto the pillow and tried to calm himself, but nothing he did was working. His stomach clenched, and he knew he was too damn close.

“Cassidy, you have to stop now,” he said between gritted teeth.

“I don’t think so, Beckett. I’m enjoying this too much.”

  “I’m too close,” he groaned.

  “Good,” she murmured around him.

“Fuck!” The word burst forward through clenched teeth as his orgasm hit him hard and he came in her mouth. He couldn’t stop his hips from jerking as he grasped the sheets tight in his fists. Finally, he caught his breath and opened his eyes to see her sitting back on his legs, smiling at him.

“I hope you enjoyed that. I don’t do that for just anyone, ya know.”

Ash burst out laughing. “I should hope not. Come here.”

She crawled up his body and lay down on him. Kissing him, she smiled against his lips.

“I really hated doing that for Ross but you…well, I loved it. Turning you on, turned me on. You seriously need to go get more condoms. I’m close to thirty and according to some articles, just in my sexual prime.”

“You are going to kill me,” he muttered with a grin.

Cassidy laughed and laid her head on his chest. “Thank you, Ash.”

Pushing his hand through her hair, he kissed the top of her head. “For what?”

“For showing me what I’ve been missing.”

“It was my pleasure, darlin’.” Ash chuckled.

“Oh, I think most of it was mine.”

Ash laughed and moved her off him then swung his legs over the bed, stood, and looked for his jeans. As he pulled them on, he kept his eyes on her then snapped them and zipped up. He found a T-shirt and pulled it over his head.

“What are you doing?” she asked him with a tilt of her head.

  “Going to get condoms.”

Cassidy fell back on the bed in fits of laughter. “Ash, it’s okay. You can wait until tomorrow.”

“Oh, hell no. I might wake up in the middle of the night and need you.” He sat on the edge of the bed, and pulled on his socks and boots then stood and stomped his feet down in them. He leaned down, kissed her lips quickly, and straightened up. “You stay right here until I get back.”

“Yes, sir,” she said, saluting him.

Ash grinned as he slapped his hat on his head and walked to the door. “Damn right.”

He strode out the door closing it behind him and headed down the hall to the elevator. He knew there was a twenty-four-hour pharmacy across the street. He’d be back before she could miss him.

  ****

Cassie lay on the bed staring up at the ceiling and couldn’t believe how good the sex had been. Ross had never brought her to an orgasm, and she’d even begun to think it was just her. In fact, when Ash had said Ross hadn’t been doing his job in bed, she now believed it. Now she knew the men she created in her novels really did exist. Ash proved it.

She nibbled on her fingernail. What now though? What happens when they return to Hartland? Do they keep seeing each other?

Rolling to her side, she knew she wanted to but she wasn’t ready to fall in love. She snorted. Who was? After her disastrous marriage, she was terrified to give her heart to someone again. Ross had ripped her heart out and stomped on it. Ash had had his heart broken too, although it had been a long time ago, and he’d obviously gotten over it. Apparently, he hadn’t sought out another relationship since he was still single. His relationship with Belinda had been just about sex according to him. Well, he hadn’t said that exactly, but she knew that was what he meant when he said she wasn’t his girlfriend. What would it be like to be his girlfriend? Girlfriend? Such a silly word for a couple their age to use.

“You’re not even a couple, Cassie,” she muttered.

Sighing, she rolled off the bed and stood then took a T-shirt of Ash’s off the top of his duffle bag and pulled it over her head. It smelled like him. Pulling the collar up over her nose she inhaled and sighed. She needed to go to her room and get some other clothes but she’d wait until he came back. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to get in if she didn’t return before he did since he’d left the keycard on the table. She laughed thinking of him going after condoms then shivered at what it meant for the rest of the night. The man sure knew how to please a woman in bed and in the shower. The shower sex had been fantastic too, and yet another new experience for her. Ross really had not been doing his job as her husband.

Sitting back down on the bed, she picked up the remote and watched the news while she waited for Ash to return. They needed to talk about what would happen when they returned to Hartland. She knew she wanted to continue to see him, but she didn’t want her parents knowing about it yet. They’d be thinking that she and Ash were a couple, but they weren’t. Or were they?

Blowing out a breath, she wondered how Ash would feel about keeping it a secret. Shrugging, she’d have to tell him it was that way or not at all. She wanted to spend time with him, but she didn’t want to fall for him. If Ross had broken her heart, Ash would rip it out. Damn. Could she really keep seeing him without falling for him? He was so sexy, and she’d never felt this
way before. Was she close to falling for him already?

Lord! She could not fall for him. It was way too scary to fall in love again, but the sex was way too good to not let that happen again.

Twenty minutes later, someone knocked on the door and she crept to it then peered out to see a white paper bag held up to the peephole with a pharmacy logo on it. Laughing, she opened the door and Ash came striding in. She closed the door, leaned back against it, and stared at him. Her eyes ran down over his tight jeans, and she was sure she had drool dripping down her chin.

“You just open the door to anyone holding up a bag from a pharmacy?” Ash asked as he set the bag on the table.

“I figured it was you,” she said walking toward him.

“It’s my room though, so why wouldn’t I use the keycard?”

“Uh, because you left it on the table,” she said nodding toward the table.

He glanced at the keycard then back to her. “Smartass.”

“What else is in the bag? Did you bring me more chocolate?”

“Nah, you’re easy now.” Ash reached into the bag, pulled out two boxes of condoms, and tossed them onto the bed.

Cassie laughed. “I’ve never been called easy.”

Ash folded his arms across his broad chest and smiled at her. “You don’t sound too upset about that.”

Cassie stopped in front of him. “I’m not as long as it’s only with you.”

Reaching out, he pulled her into his arms and lowered his head. “Let’s keep it that way.”

He pressed his lips to hers.

She moaned and wrapped her arms around his neck. His tongue entered her mouth, and she wanted to toss him down onto the bed. Ash pulled his lips from hers and glanced down her body then back to her eyes.

“My shirt sure looks good on you, darlin’,” he said with a grin then he reached for the hem, pulled it off over her head, and tossed it to the floor. “But you look better without it.”

“You do too.” She tugged at his T-shirt and pulled it off. “I love your chest and this six-pack,” she murmured as she scraped her nails down it, making him suck in a breath.

“I say we get started on one of those boxes,” he said as he lowered his head to take her lips in a deep kiss again.

Cassie sighed when Ash’s lips met hers. Ash Beckett could kiss like no one she’d known before, and she could feel it down to her toes. It shocked her that she was naked, plastered against him. Reaching between them, she unsnapped his jeans and lowered the zipper then she slipped her hand inside wrapping her fingers around his cock. It thrilled her to feel it growing in her hand and how her touch made him growl into her mouth. She pulled back from him.

  “Commando?”

“Hey, I was in a hurry to get the condoms. The girl at the counter gave me a big smile when I placed two boxes on the counter. I’m sure she thought I had a hell of a night ahead of me.”

Cassie laughed and glanced at the boxes on the bed. “Two boxes? Magnum?”

Ash shrugged. “I’m a big man, darlin’. I don’t buy them just to make me look good.”

“No, you don’t,” she said as she squeezed him in her hand.

His eyes closed then snapped open to look at her as his hands moved down her back to her ass and squeezed then lifted her up against him. She wrapped her legs around his waist. Laying her in the center of the bed, he came down beside her.

“I want you so much,” he whispered against her lips.

“I want you too. Please, Ash,” she moaned.

His finger slipped between her slit and moved up and down. She couldn’t help but arch her hips. Biting her lower lip, she moaned as he rubbed her clitoris.

“Damn, baby, you’re so fucking wet.” Ash groaned.

  “Please, Ash. Now.”

Ash rolled to his back with her on top of him. Cassie moved down his legs, removed his boots, and then pulled his jeans off. His cock stood at attention. Climbing up his body, she grabbed a box of the condoms, opened it and removed one, tore it open then rolled it down over his hard length. Looking up at him, she saw his jaw clench and his eyes close. His hands moved to her hips.

“Ride me,” he said when he opened his eyes and stared into hers.

Cassie pressed her lips to his as she lowered herself down over him. When she sat up after she’d settled on him, they both groaned. She moved up and down on him. His hands gripped her hips making her laugh.

“We’re doing this my way, cowboy.”

  “Damn, you’re killing me.”

Cassie threw her head back and laughed but continued moving slowly. She ground her hips against him and felt the now familiar fluttering in her belly. Placing her hands on his chest, she rocked harder and faster against him. Her orgasm hit her hard, and she bit her lip to keep from screaming.

Ash sat up, wrapped his arms around her then flipped her onto her back, and drove hard into her. She wrapped her legs around him and pulled him to her tight. Flexing her vaginal muscles around him, she laughed when he growled low in his throat. She gasped when he moved his hand between them and rubbed his thumb against her clitoris, and she cried out when she came again. Ash groaned and lightly bit her neck when he came. He kept moving until he finally collapsed on her, breathing hard. Blinking her eyes quickly, she knew she was in so much trouble here. She was so close to the edge of falling for him. What was she going to do?

  Chapter Eight

Ash wrapped his arms around her as she laid her head on his chest. Sex had never been this good, and he wondered what was going to happen when they got home. Taking a deep breath, he blew it out.

“What was that for?” she asked him.

“I guess I’m wondering what happens when we go home.”

  “You mean us?”

“Yes, well, seeing each other…this.” He tightened his arms around her.

“I still want to see you but—”

“But what?” Ash moved away to gaze down at her.

“Well, I’d like to keep it to ourselves for a while.”

  “Why?”

“Ash, I’m newly divorced, and I don’t need my parents or anyone else wondering about us.”

“I see,” he murmured, although he didn’t really.

Cassidy rolled over on top of him. “Could we just do it my way for a while? Please?”

Ash wrapped his arms around her. He wasn’t happy about being her secret but perhaps for a short while—till she was ready for more. “All right.”

Her smile was enough to make him happy that he’d agreed. She was so beautiful, and he knew he was close to falling hard for her. Hell, to be honest, he’d been close since the first day he saw her.

“I’ll have to get up early to get back to my room.”

  “Why?”

  “I need to shower, Ash.”

“There’s a shower here, in case you’ve forgotten.” He leaned up and kissed her neck then grinned when she shivered.

“Stop. I have to get clean clothes too. I’ll set my alarm on my phone for seven, go back to my room, and meet you in the lobby at nine as we agreed.”

Ash sighed. “Fine. I don’t like it, but I’ll do it.”

Cassidy laughed and rolled off him then snuggled against him. Yeah, he could get used to this but why would she want to keep it a secret? She was twenty-nine years old, and she didn’t need to hide things from her parents. Ash didn’t understand, but if it meant keeping her in his life, he’d do whatever she wanted—for now.

He could feel sleep taking over as he pulled her closer and closed his eyes. Oh yeah, he could get used to this.

  ****

Cassie woke before the alarm went off. She sat up, picked up her phone to check the time and turn the alarm off. Ash rolled away from her. Glancing over her shoulder, she smiled looking at him. He lay sprawled out on his stomach with the pillow over his head. The sheet was across the back of his waist covering the lower half of him. Not a sound came from him. She snorted then covered her mouth so she wouldn’t wake him whe
n she thought about waking up last night and wondering why she didn’t hear him snoring. For a few seconds, she thought she’d done what he’d accused her of, and killed him. Laughter bubbled out.

“It’s too damn early to be finding anything funny, sweetheart,” he said, his voice muffled from under the pillow.

Cassie burst out laughing. “I’ll tell you about it later. I have to go. I’ll see you in the lobby.”

She leaned over and kissed his back then stood, put her clothes on, and left him to go to her room. Walking to the elevator, she pressed the button and waited. It was quiet in the hallway. When the doors slid open, she stepped in and pressed the button for her floor. She leaned back against the wall. The elevator jerked to a stop, and the doors opened allowing her to exit. Striding down the hall, she entered her room, locked it behind her, and then walked into the bathroom to shower. Reaching in, she turned the shower on, stripped, and stepped inside the stall. She washed her hair then herself. After grabbing a towel, she stepped out, dried off, and then swiped the mirror to see to dry her hair. Picking up the blow dryer, she aimed it at her head then put her hair in her usual braid. She rarely wore it down. It was too long and got in her way.

Ash had told her he loved it down. She was excited about going to the sale, about going with Ash, and she really hoped she’d be able to save that skinny mare.

At nine o’clock, she was sitting on a sofa in the lobby keeping an eye on the elevators. When the bell dinged, and the doors slid open, her heart thumped in her chest as she watched Ash step out and stride across the lobby. Glancing around, she noticed that almost every woman within view watched him too. Smiling, she stood and knew the moment he spotted her. A grin lit up his gorgeous face, and he walked right up to her then kissed her.

“Good morning, darlin’,” he whispered against her lips.

  “Good morning. Are you ready?”

His eyebrows shot up. “For you? I’m always ready.”

Cassie laughed and swatted at him. “I meant to go to the sale.”

Ash chuckled and took her elbow in his hand. “Yes. Let’s go save that mare.”
