Val and Sandra also had a relationship crisis. They’ve come through it too, thank goodness. They both dote on Kola and having something mutual to dote on has brought them closer together.

Brian and Martin’s relationship still has no solid form to it. I’m hoping it will develop along clearer stronger lines next year.

Teddy and Maurice’s relationship looks to be permanently over. None of us, including Teddy, have heard from Maurice in a few weeks. It’s rumoured he’s taken some time off work and gone abroad.

My sister Maryann has no idea where her relationship with Callum is going, if anywhere. My mum and dad say she deserves better, but love is a strange thing and we’re not always masters of our heart. I don’t like Callum, but if she loves him she loves him.

Lulu longs to have a permanent relationship. I hope the next year will bring someone special his way. Twinks has set his heart on Stuart Cramer being the man for Lu. He’s sent him an invitation to contribute to or preferably drop in on the charity event at the shop. To my mind it’s a long shot, a very long shot, but who knows. Christmas is a time for miracles.

My mother and Priscilla entered another chapter in their relationship by becoming husband and wife. Marriage is often seen as the conclusion to a relationship, but really it’s another beginning with a whole new set of challenges. They seem to be doing well enough so far.

Twinks hopes his newly forged ‘relationship’ with his sister Caroline will lead to some kind of reconciliation with other family members. Somehow I doubt it. I think Lu has more chance of getting off with Cramer than Twinks has of being welcomed back into the cold bosom of his family. However, you can never tell what lies ahead. We can only wait for life to happen and deal with it as it comes.

The relationship I would like to see come to an end in the near future is the one between our hate mailer and us. If life emulated art and pantomime then a magic genie would appear at this point and grant my wish of coming face to face with the wielder of the poison pen, or the glue stick in this case. I’d like to ram it down his or her throat.

If I’ve learned any one lesson this year it’s this: time moves on and can never be reclaimed, so live each day with joy and relish every moment you share with the people you love.

My delicate fairy queen is stridently hailing me. He looks like an angel and sounds like a fishwife. We’re going out to the PP tonight and our taxi is here. Thus I must shift my arse before he pulls my plug and forcibly disconnects me. Honestly, I'm bullied I am. Farewell for now.

  End.
