by Hawkeye, Lauren

“Yes. Right there.” She points toward a group of dancers in front of the stage. “That’s Jane.”

“The one with the scarf?” I ask, surprised.

  “Yes.”

The woman in question is grinding on the dance floor with two other women. She’s got short, curly hair and is dressed like a 50s pinup girl, with hot pants and a bright red scarf tied on the side of her head. Her bra is pulled down beneath her breasts and, as we watch, one of the other women takes a nipple into her mouth.

“My,” I say, glancing sideways at Misty. “She’s a free spirit, isn’t she?”

Misty nods. “Jane comes to the festival for the parties. I come for the cultural events and talks.”

Nicolai, who’s been quietly observing all of this finally asks, “Are you okay with...this?” He waves his hand in Jane’s direction.

  “We have an open relationship.”

“And, you don’t get jealous?” While Nicolai waits for Misty to answer, his scrutiny never leaves Jane and the two women she’s dancing with. One woman is behind her, hands all over, caressing her stomach and her breasts while the other woman dances in front, rubbing her own bared breasts against Jane’s.

  “Sometimes,” Misty admits.

Nicolai leans back and takes a drink so I can’t tell if he’s frowning or not, he’s kind of difficult to read right now.

“So,” he says, drawing the word out. “Does your open relationship extend to you as well?”

“I suppose.” She shrugs. “Though I’ve never really been tempted.”

  “Never?”

“Well...” She glances up at me and whispers, “Not until today.”

  Chapter Thirteen

Suddenly Nicolai is staring at me with eyes that no longer seem hazel, but completely black, like polished obsidian, reflecting the spotlights from the stage.

I cock my head in question. What the hell is he thinking? Why is he looking at me like that?

But he averts his gaze and addresses Misty. “There’s something about Tessa, isn’t there?”

“Yes,” she says softly, looking down and swishing the straw around in her drink.

Suddenly the D.J. shouts into the microphone, “SOCIALBLE!” It’s so loud I jerk, spilling my drink.

The crowd replies with shouts and raised drinks and then the D.J. comes on over the sound system again. “Okay, Ladies and Gems, time for our party game! Tonight we’re playing, I’VE NEVER! The rules are simple. I’m going to draw a random slip from our fishbowl and read out the statement. If you’ve NEVER done the thing on the paper. You’re SAFE. If you HAVE done whatever’s on the paper you...”

She holds the microphone out to the audience who all shout, “DRINK!”

  “EXACTLY!”

  I nudge Nicolai. “Let’s go,” I say.

He makes as if to get up but Misty stops us by putting a hand on my arm. “You’re not leaving now, are you? The fun’s just about to get started.”

I catch Nicolai staring at Misty’s hand on me. His gaze lifts to me. His eyes are now as opaque as a cloudy night.

What the hell is that look all about?

He sits back down and says, “Let’s stay. I’ve never played this game before.”

Okay, something’s going on. I’m not sure what. But it suddenly strikes me that if Nicolai is inexperienced in sex, there must be a whole slew of things he’s inexperienced in. Like party games for example. He’s been forced to be much older than his years. Who am I to deny him this kind of youthful fun?

“Okay,” I say and take my seat.

Misty rewards me with a gleeful kiss on the cheek and Nicolai with a strangely suppressed smile.

  “ALL RIGHT! FIRST QUESTION!”

Oh my God. This DJ has one volume. Loud.

“Here we go,” Misty claps her hands together in anticipation. Her eagerness is so sweet, it makes me smile. Man, she reminds me of Nicolai. On one hand she seems so knowledgeable and worldly, on the other, she’s got this endearing sort of innocence mixed with unintentional sensuality.

  It’s a turn on.

Know what else is a turn on? Nicolai’s hand resting on my upper thigh.

I wriggle forward in my chair, forcing his hand higher.

  “I’VE NEVER...”

The crowd hoots and hollers in anticipation of the first statement.

  “...PLAYED I’VE NEVER!”

“Oh sheesh!” Misty blushes like the question is X-rated or something, and takes a drink.

  Nicolai looks at me. “Tessa?”

I roll my eyes and drink.

  “NEXT QUESTION!”

Okay, someone needs to tell the D.J. to turn the microphone down a few decibels. We might be drunk but we’re not deaf.

  “I’VE NEVER...TRAVELED TO AMERICA!”

There are some cheers but mostly groans from the crowd.

I look at Misty who shrugs her shoulders at me. “Never been outside Europe.”

Nicolai crosses his arms over his chest and leans back. With a smirk he says, “Drink, Tessa.”

  I take a sip.

  “READY? I’VE NEVER...GONE SKY DIVING!”

Again I’m the only one at our table to drink.

  “I’VE NEVER...BEEN SCUBA DIVING!”

Seriously? This is getting ridiculous. I need new friends. So much for thinking these two are worldly.

The following questions come fast and furious and, for the most part, I’m the only one who has to drink...every single blasted time.

  “I’VE NEVER...

  “SWUM WITH THE DOLPHINS...

  “PARASAILED...

  “BOOGIE BOARDED...”

Yep, a whole beach-themed set of questions. Considering Nicolai lives on a beach, he should be drinking way more than he is.

“I’VE NEVER...KISSED A GIRL!” The D.J. plays a clip from Katy Perry’s I Kissed a Girl and the crowd goes wild.

Finally, finally we all three take a drink. Misty notices my drink is nearly empty and dashes off for refills.

  Great.

I’m well on my way to getting hammered and the sex questions have just started.

  “I’VE NEVER...MADE LOVE ON A BEACH!”

  Oh God. Here we go.

When I hear Nicolai stifling a laugh, I shoot him an unsteady evil eye. Gah! If he’d just hold still and stop wavering in and out of focus, I could really let him have it. I’ve got a wicked evil eye, let me tell you something.

“Here you go.” Misty sets a fresh drink in front of me.

Okay, this is it. No more.

  “I’VE NEVER...MADE LOVE ON A BOAT.”

Oh brother. I grab Misty’s glass and look inside. It’s still practically full. “C’mon. You’ve had sex on a boat.”

She shakes her head. “Jane doesn’t like the water.”

Nicolai laughs. I kick him under the table. He grabs my barefoot and holds it captive on his lap, caressing my instep with the back of his knuckles.

  “I’VE NEVER...MADE LOVE TO A MAN!”

  The crowd cheers.

I groan. You’ve got to be kidding me. I take a tiny sip while Nicolai does naughty things to my foot.

  “I’VE NEVER...MADE LOVE TO A WOMAN?”

  The crowd goes insane.

Misty shouts, “Finally!” and downs her whole drink in three gulps.

Nicolai leans forward, “Drink up, Tess.”

I mutter something under my breath about this not being fair. His response is to laugh and press my foot against the crotch of his shorts.

  Bad boy. Bad, bad boy.

Misty notices Nicolai hasn’t touched his glass. “Come on, handsome. Drink up.”

He points to his glass. “It’s water. I’m driving.”

  Water?

I grab the glass from him and down it. The sweet, fruity drinks I’ve been consuming have made me thirstier than ever. I may be well on my way to inebriation, but I am still ‘with it’ enough to know that if I don’t drink more water, I’m going to have one hell of a hangover tomo
rrow.

With Nicolai’s now empty glass in hand, I weave my way to the bar. It’s not where I remember it to be and somehow I manage to collide into more than one person. Sheesh people. Have the decency to hold still and not move right into my path.

When I finally make it back to the table, the game has ended—thank God—and the music is back in full swing.

I catch Misty and Nicolai huddled together, whispering, thick as thieves.

I collapse into my chair. “What’s going on,” I ask, though my words sounds more like, “Wuz goin-non?”

“Nicolai and I have been chatting.”

  “Oh? What about?”

Misty looks at Nic and then leans toward me. She tucks my hair behind my ear and whispers, “Mostly...you.”

I sit up straight and look at Misty then at Nicolai then back at Misty.

Her eyes are shining, her cheeks flushed. She leans forward and kisses me full on the mouth and then not-so-secretly winks at Nicolai.

  I have no response.

When Misty stands, I am still sitting, dumbfounded.

“I feel like dancing. Would either of you care to join me?”

“Maybe in a few minutes,” Nicolai says.

Misty takes her drink and walks barefoot through the sand to where her girlfriend is dancing. When Jane sees her, she holds out her arms and Misty steps into her embrace. They kiss and afterwards, she looks over at us. What’s she doing? Making sure we’re watching? I glance at Nicolai. He’s leaning back in his chair, his arms crossed over his chest, taking it all in with an unfamiliar expression on his face.

“What the hell are you up to? What did you say to her?” I ask.

He gives me a casual shrug. “I asked her if she’d like to help out with my lessons.”

I give him a smack on the shoulder. “You did not.”

“I did.” He moves within whispering distance. “Don’t you like her?”

  “Of course I do, but—”

  “Because she likes you.”

“Nicolai, what did you ask her to do?”

  “Nothing you’ve never done before.”

“Why? Why would you do that?”

“I like watching you with other people. It’s fascinating.”

  “What?”

“You have no idea how many heads you’ve turned tonight, do you?”

I smack him again. “Don’t be absurd.”

  “It’s true.”

I lean back, pointing. “Look who’s talking.”

“I don’t turn heads.” He looks around. “Particularly here.”

“Even here. You’re a beautiful man.”

“I don’t want to be a beautiful man.”

“No?” I ask, feeling out of breath. “What do you want to be?”

He leans even closer, moving my hair away from my other ear. “Just a man.” He takes hold of my chin and holds my face still so he can kiss me. The touch of his lips, his scent...all of it, is like a fuse lit in the pit of my belly.

“Let’s get out of here,” I say.

  “No.”

  “No?”

He shakes his head and his eyes flick past my shoulder to the dance floor. I turn around. Misty is facing us, swinging her hips in time to the music, sipping her drink...watching.

“I want to watch you...with her.”

  Chapter Fourteen

My mouth drops open. My half-empty glass of water slips from my grasp to the sand. “You can’t be serious.”

“I am.” He looks at me with this lazy, heavy-lidded look. It’s completely sexy and making me completely aroused.

  “Why?” I whisper.

“Seven years ago, I saw more than just kissing between you and that woman and...I’ve never been able to forget it.”

“What do you mean, you saw more?”

“You were on the terrace. My window overlooks it.”

  “You were spying?”

“I heard a noise and then...you couldn’t have paid me to look away.” He raises his brows as if to ask, Can you blame me?

I think back to that night with Casey. I have a vague recollection of standing at the rail of the terrace with her. She was talking about the constellations in the southern hemisphere and how different the night sky was. Then...we started touching, followed by kissing and...oh shit! I remember taking the cushions off of one of the lounge chairs and using them as a sort of bed, right there, on the terrace.

It was romantic. No, not romantic. It was hot—X-rated hot.

  “You saw that?”

He nods. Leaning even closer he says, “Do you know how many times I’ve pleasured myself to the memory of that night?”

Sweet Jesus. “Now you want to watch me...with Misty?”

He nods and there is an immoral light shining in his dark eyes. “But only if you want to.”

I tear my gaze away and turn to look for Misty. She’s no longer dancing. In fact, I don’t see her anywhere.

Reading my mind, Nicolai says, “She’s buying another drink.”

“Oh.” I chew on my lip.

“You don’t have to, Tessa. It’s just, it’s a...a fantasy of mine.”

“Fantasies are important,” I say absently.

  “Are they?”

  “Mmhmm.”

  “What about sharing fantasies?”

  “That’s important too.”

He takes my hand, “It’s up to you. But, seeing the two of you tonight? Your interaction. The effect you have on her.” He kisses my knuckles. “It’s so...fuck, it’s hot. I can’t stop thinking about it.”

Wow. Based on what happened only a few days ago, who would have thought Nicolai would be asking me to engage in this sort of fantasy? Of course, just because he’s inexperienced doesn’t mean he doesn’t fantasize. In fact, what else has he had but his fantasies? And, the girl on girl scenario is pretty much number one for hetero-males.

If there’s one thing I know about Nicolai, he is one hundred percent hetero-male.

I make a sudden, and perhaps drunken, decision. Standing up, I say, “C’mon. Let’s go dance.” As we make our way toward the throng of dancers, I have to give my head a little bit of a shake. Today’s been...weird. I don’t know how else to describe it. Maybe it’s the lingering effects of my panic attack, but I’m feeling off-kilter and my emotions are running amok.

Could be the alcohol. Can’t exclude that possibility.

But, in the few seconds it takes me to consider Nicolai’s proposal, I realize this is exactly what I need because for some reason I’ve been avoiding being alone with him today. Maybe it’s because things are getting so intense between us and I need something else—someone else—to ease the pressure between us. Yes, I’m pretty sure that’s what it is, and Misty? She’s perfect.

If I were on my own, she would be exactly the kind of woman I’d go for. Curvy. Sweet. Shy. Sexy in an understated way. I can already tell she’s the kind of woman who likes to please.

We haven’t even danced one song before she joins us and between her and Nicolai, they keep me sandwiched between their bodies. The contrast drives me mad. On one side there’s Nicolai; tall, hard and masculine. On the other, Misty; soft, sweet and lusciously feminine. We don’t kiss, but our bodies connect, rubbing and grinding in all the right places. Two songs later, when Careless Whisper by Wham begins to play, the three of us are slow dancing, with me in the middle being caressed by two sets of hands.

  It’s heaven.

Before the song is over, Misty tugs my hand, and in turn, I take Nicolai’s. We stumble down the beach in the direction of her hotel. It’s a small two-story building and she struggles with the key until Nicolai takes it from her and opens the door for us. The hotel is older and the room is quaint with antique furniture and a high ceiling with a fan spinning lazily in the center. Thankfully, the bed is queen-sized, large by Greek standards.

“I can’t believe I’m going to do this,” Misty whispers in my ear, her mouth warm and wet and fruity sweet.

  I c
aress her cheek and give her a soft, lingering kiss. She wraps her arms around me, pressing herself against me. “Are you sure you want to?” I ask.

  “Oh yes.”

I finish the kiss and carefully disentangle myself. “Okay,” I say, out of breath. “Nicolai? Seeing as this is your fantasy, you’re going to tell us what to do. You okay with that?”

The wicked way he smiles is enough answer for me.

Caressing Misty’s bare shoulder, I ask softly, “You okay with that?”

  She nods enthusiastically.

I can’t contain my grin because her eagerness indicates my assessment of her is spot on.

“Tell us what to do,” I say to Nicolai while focusing all my attention on Misty, sweeping a tendril of hair out of her eyes.

  She sighs.

Nicolai leans against the wall by the bed. “Take off her shirt, Tess.” His voice is deeper than ever.

Misty’s wearing a halter top tied behind her neck and I reach around and untie it. Slowly. She’s only inches away, her eyes glued to me, her breathing hard and irregular. Once the ties are undone, I let the top fall. It’s one of those tops with the built in bra, so once it slides down, her full breasts are revealed. She’s much larger than I am and—surprisingly—both nipples are pierced with a silver barbell.

“These are nice,” I whisper, touching them lightly and giving them a little twist.

She shuts her eyes and breathes in raggedly.

  “Kiss her.”

I move closer and touch her lips. Her mouth opens and I move slowly over her soft, kissable lips. Kissing a woman is so much different from kissing a man. It’s playful and sweet. Her lips are pliant and wet and I imagine what it would be like to spend a whole night just kissing her.

  “Tess? Take off your shirt.”

Without breaking off the kiss, I undo the buttons on my sleeveless top. It doesn’t take long before it drops to the floor.

  “Your bra too.”

I go to reach around my back, but Misty’s there first. Her fingers are shaking and clumsy, kind of like how she was with the key, but I let her finish, holding her chin as I deepen the kiss, waiting for her to successfully remove my bra. After a couple more tugs, the band gives and she hastily pushes the straps off my shoulders.

Stepping back, I cup my hands beneath my breasts so that our nipples touch. I rub them back and forth, nudging the piercings until both sets of nipples are erect and aroused.
