Elisa looked up into Tarek’s eyes, smiling. “Underneath all that tough exterior, I do believe you have a Little Geekiness too,” she teased. “But really, you guys didn’t have to do this.”

Tarek leaned over the table, capturing her chin in his hands and kissed her lips. “Yes, we did. After all, your wedding is only three days away and as our woman, you have to have the best.”

Lancelot moaned and pushed Tarek back. “We were going to ease into this!” he said, glaring at Tarek, before glancing over at Elisa.

“Wait, five days! That’s Halloween…” she shook her head. “Please tell me she’s not?” Elisa asked.

Lancelot couldn’t help but smile. “You know your mother too well. Yes, your wedding is being planned as we speak. We have a team…” he stopped talking as the stupid phone in his pocket when off.

He pulled out his phone. “What?” Lancelot said as soon as he flipped open the phone.

  “Very polite,” Elisa said.

“We weren’t to be disturbed,” he grumbled.

“Sir, no one told us there would be a dog here. Do you want us to destroy it?” One of Tarek’s men asked.

“Do you have a dog?” he asked her and she narrowed her eyes at him.

“Yes, and if you touch him, I’ll personally make sure all your spices get all mixed up, why?” she snapped.

“Do not harm that dog,” he smiled. “Put it to sleep for now and put it in the bedroom. We’ll grab it when we pick up our things on the way to the airport.” Lancelot closed the phone.

“Mix up my spices, really?” he asked.

She waved her hand. “What are you doing at my apartment and why are we going to the airport?”

“We have much to do before the wedding. I would assume you would like to pick out your own dress?”

“Of course, but what makes you so sure I’m going to marry you or whoever? You haven’t even asked. I mean it’s a beautiful ring, but it could just be a gift.”

“Well then let me change that right now,” Lancelot reached over taking the box from her, while Jason scooted the table back, and the three of them all got down on their knees in front of her.

“What…”she stopped as he took her hand and kissed it.

“Marry us, even though in your laws and customs it can only be one person, which will be me, since I’m the oldest. At least these two have informed me so many times in the past few weeks,” he grumbled.

Taking the ring out of the box, he slipped the ring on her finger. “Be our hope, dreams and love.”

A single tear slid down her cheek as she looked at each of them. “I don’t know how or why, but this feels like it’s right,” she placed her other hand over her chest. “In here. Do you know how many times I’ve dreamed of this over the last year?”

“Does this mean you’ll agree? You’ll marry us?” Never in all the duels, the wars he’s been in, had he been so nervous. That this little female could mean so much to all three of them was amazing.

She leaned down and kissed Jason softly on the lips, before turning to cup Tarek’s cheeks. “You don’t know how many fantasies I’ve had about my boss,” she whispered, and kissed him as he moaned.

“And you, damn.” The picture of him in the stables came to mind and he smiled.

“I’ll be glad to get straw on you, baby, now answer me,” Jason used his voice, watching her nipples harden and her heated scent drift to them.

“Yes”, she whispered, kneeling in front of him and hugging him. “As long as I get that voice at least once a day, and what happens after word to.” She kissed his chest and looked up at him.

“Oh little one, we will take care of you, I promise.” Lancelot leaned down her lips soft against his, he slid his tongue in tasting the liquor and her own flavor.

“Bravo! I never would have believed it if I hadn’t witnessed it, the Casanova of Rome is finally out of commission,” his soon-to- be-dead friend teased behind them. “Nice touch, the knee thing,” Franco said as he stood to help Elisa up, ignoring the rest of them.

“Do you hear something? I swear you’d think Franco wouldn’t allow pests in his own diner.”

“I did hear something about a…” he put a finger over her lips. “There will be no other females for any of us. We don’t want any other. We’ve been waiting for you for a very long time.”

A twinkle in her eye, she smiled. “Really, Franco, I do believe you and I should talk. I’d love to find out all about my intended.”

Lancelot spun around. “Not a word!” he growled and they all laughed.

“I mean, how can a Little Geek girl compete, especially with all those Vegas showgirls?” She turned and sat back down in her chair as they pushed the table back into place. She took the last sip of her drink and looked at Franco. “Could I get a diet coke, please?”

As he sat down next to her, Elisa glanced over at Jason. “What about your sister? Is she going to be in Vegas?” Elisa asked, suddenly, and very seriously.

Jason frowned and looked over at him. “Yes, I’m sure she’ll be there. Why? What don’t we know?”

  Chapter Six

She smiled at Franco who set their appetizers and salad down on the table. The smell of the food made her stomach growl again.

Tarek snorted and reached over, pushing a plate in front of her. “Eat, before that stomach of yours comes after us for not feeding you,” he said, taking a bite of his salad.

“You haven’t answered our question. Why are you worried about Kelly?” Lancelot asked, leaning forward and staring at her.

“Well, Kelly is not my biggest fan, and if you are hoping to not draw attention to us, then you are going to be disappointed.” Elisa stuffed her face, moaning. The food was amazing, but then again she hadn’t eaten since that morning.

“She’s been giving you trouble?” Jason asked, tugging on her hair.

“Let’s just say that once you left the house, the hidden bitch came out. All one hundred pounds of the skinny thing. She can move, I’ll give you that, but Kelly now knows I don’t play around either. Thanks to Mr. Lee’s classes. We had words and a few swings at each other It was one of the reasons I moved here.”

“Wait! You and her fought?” Jason was actually growling next to her, his hands in balls at his side.

“Relax, I held my own.” She frowned and glanced at him again. “Or are you pissed because I fought your sister? I mean, it really didn’t turn out to be much, your dad broke us up.” She shivered.

“Now that was a scary picture. I swear I’ve never seen your dad that pissed. I thought for sure he’d bust a blood vessel. Even mom was yelling. So I gave them less to worry about and left. Plus, it was time to move out. I’d stayed with them long enough and saved plenty from my job.” She took a drink of her pop and glanced up at Lancelot.

She swallowed her drink down the wrong pipe, which went right up her nose, and began to squirt all over the place as Elisa took in Lancelot’s visage. She started to cough, but managed to get out a few words.

“On my God… You’re… just like your… dad.” She took the napkin Jason handed her, as he rubbed her back. Elisa cleaned up her face and blew her nose while trying not to laugh.

“This is not funny,” Lancelot growled and leaned forward. “Do you know the damage she could have done to you? Hell, she could have killed you.”

“Cool it, your father read me the riot act already,” she snapped.

“Yes, dear brother, we don’t want the halfwit to lose her mind,” Kelly, their younger sister stated appearing before them. She and a few men had somehow entered the room without Elissa noticing, and sauntered up to their table to lean over it. Elisa had heard certain vampires could transport themselves here and there, but she never thought this wicked bitch in front of her had that kind of talent.

“So tell me, when’s the last time you’ve talk to Mommy dearest?” she threatened.

Jason grabbed hold of Elisa, thinking she was about to attack. But she smiled, relaxed a
nd waited until he released her.

Before anyone could do anything, Elisa made her move. She grabbed onto the table and shoved it forward. Fast and hard, Elisa pushed the table, backing the bitch from hell up against the wall, ramming the edge into her stomach. Drinks and food went flying.

Elisa leaned over the table at the shocked woman. “I told you once, and I don’t repeat myself. If you ever threatened my mother or touch her, I’d kill you. Just because I’m human means nothing.

Elisa reached over and grabbed the bottle of beer, breaking it on the table and jamming it down on Kelly’s hand. The glass sliced right through her hand and into the table.

Her scream drew her men forward. Lancelot picked Elisa up, pulling her away from the table. “What the hell is wrong with you?” he snapped at her before spinning to face his sister.

But that didn’t matter, nothing did. She looked over at Kelly. “Don’t ever underestimate me again, bitch,” Elisa snapped and spun on her heels. and headed for the door.

Fuck everyone, she was tired of being threatened. It was time to pick up her special order and as far as she was concerned the three assholes behind her could take a flying leap off the nearest bridge.

She stepped out into the nippy night air, not carrying that she didn’t have a coat. Elisa had all she needed as she scanned her surroundings.

The asshole that had hurt her twice was still out there, further away, but Elisa could feel him in her head again. She opened her mind and showed him what she had done. “Mess with me asshole and you’ll be next.” She sent a vision to him, making sure he saw everything. Careful of where she crossed the busy road to the little shop across the street.

“Elisa!” Tarek yelled from behind her, across the street, but she ignored him. Going to the place she should have gone to last week, but had been distracted from going. Her personal trainer would have the knives ready now for her.

Elisa had been lucky to find him, a vampire and her sensei. For two years she had been working with him, weapons training and in all forms of Karate.

Elisa was tired of being the victim and it was obvious she would need to prepare herself for the change in her life that was about to happen.

“Osu Sensei,” she bowed her head as she stepped into the small store seeing him going through his inventory.

“So you have come for the knives? I was hoping you wouldn’t need them.” He turned and glanced behind her, when the door opened again.

“Pay no attention to them. It’s obvious I’m going to need them. I’m tired of being attacked and my mother being threatened. I have passed all your classes and you promised you would make them for me.” She ignored the door as it opened again.

“Elisa!” Jason stepped up next to her, staring down at her. “Darius. it’s nice to see you again,” Jason extended his hand to her sensei.

“You…” tears flooded her eyes. “You couldn’t be around me, but you had to make sure you controlled everything, didn’t you?” Elisa was furious and hurt. “And you. I thought you. Never mind I need my purchase, please. I have things to do tonight.”

Her sensei stepped in front of her, frowning. “I do not like the way you are thinking. I took you in because you needed it not because of Jason here. He is a friend from long ago. He didn’t know about your lessons here,” her sensei told her.

“Then I apologize to you. I shouldn’t have snapped, even if my life is all screwed up right now.” Elisa wanted to cry. She was tired and angry, but she wouldn’t give Jason, Tarek or Lancelot the show.

“Your purchase is in the back, come.” He looked at Jason and Tarek who had come up to her other side. “She is yours?” her sensei asked, and Jason nodded.

“She’s ours, but right now I have the feeling she’d rather cut our balls off then admit it,” Jason let out a big sigh.

“And she could do it too.” Darius turned and she followed him towards the back of the store. Jason and Tarek followed.

“She’s really that good?” Jason asked behind her.

“Yes, she’s really that good. For a human, she’s my best student. I’ve seen her take down two vampires in the street before I could get to her. Her specialty is knives.” Darius glanced over his shoulder. “Wasn’t that your specialty?” he asked Jason.

“One of them, yes,” Jason’s gaze turned hot as he watched her unwrap the special weapons she’d had made up. “Let me guess. The knives are made with Saux?”

“Yes, it won’t kill us, but it will put one of us down fast and make us very sick at the same time. It will give her time to maim or kill whatever is attacking her.” Darius said, watching her as she lifted her leg up on the chair and pushed up the skirt she was wearing, revealing a sheath attached to her leg.

Tarek and Jason snarled. “What the hell are you doing?” they both asked, but she ignored them, removing a utilitarian knife and replacing it with one of the new ones, then she covered her leg again.

She took the second one and slid it into an empty sheath inside her shirt, under her right breast. The third and fourth knives replaced older knives she had on her person, leaving only the fifth and longest knife still on the table.

“Do you have the case I ordered for this one?” Elisa asked, and Darius grinned.

“Of course.” He leaned over and pulled out something white wrapped in tissue paper. “I hope it’s what you wanted?” Darius said.

Elisa took the case and unwrapped it, sucking in her breath at the needle work that had been done on it. “Little Ninja” had been worked into the leather case, his personal name for her.

A single tear rolled down her cheek. “You’re one person I’m going to miss. Thank you.” She reached over and hugged him tight. “I don’t know what I would have done without you when I first came here.”

“You would have survived. You have a warrior’s heart, but you must remember to not let words cause emotions to direct your actions,” he said stepping back and looking at her.

She nodded. “You are right. Next time there will be no words, just death.”

“Little Ninja,” her sensei gave her the look.

“Yes, I know what you are talking about, and sorry.” Elisa bowed her head and he laughed.

“Jason, I do not envy you. This one is a hard head, you will have to keep after her. I take it you will be taking over her training?” he asked, and she stiffened.

“Of course, but I’m not the only one who will be working with her,” Jason stated, glancing behind them as the front door opened once more.

Her gaze met Lancelot’s furious one. Even Darius stepped back, bowing to him. “Sir,” he said.

“Thank you for keeping our woman safe, Darius, and you are right, we do have our hands full, but I do love a challenge. Let’s go Elisa.”

She reached into her side pocket and pulled out her credit card, but already her sensei was shaking his head. “No, this is my gift to you.” He leaned down and placed a kiss on her cheek. “If you think I was tough, he’s the one who taught me.” Darius nodded to Lancelot.

“Thank you for the gift and I wouldn’t know about that. I still haven’t decided if I’m going to marry him.” Her gaze went to Lancelot. “Seems we need to make a few things clear before anything happens and right now I’m too angry to do that.”

“Sir, have you seen Mrs. White lately? I was going to go over there yesterday, but had something that came up at work.” She asked trying to move to the front of the store, but Lancelot shot his arm out and trapped her against his body.

“No, as a matter of fact, I haven’t. I’ll go visit her tonight,” Darius said, smiling as Elisa tried to pull out of Lancelot’s arms.

“Stop!” he snapped and she glared up at him.

“Right now is not a good time to try and control me. Why don’t you go baby your sister some more, that way the next time she threatens my family, I can finally take care of her ass,” Elisa hissed and tried to once more yank away from Lancelot, but he was too strong and countered every move she made.

  Chapter Seven

Lancelot wrapped his hand around a big chunk of her hair and pulled her head back, staring into her fierce gaze. She was furious at him and his Little Geek might have a point, but the risk she put herself in wouldn’t, and couldn’t, be ignored.

“Didn’t we just talk about this? You obviously didn’t listen to a word my father said, did you?” he snapped, staring at her.

Tears filled her beautiful eyes. “And did you hear anything I said? Not even for you will I allow anyone to hurt my mother. You would know this if you have done your research. But you know what has me more furious than anything?” she asked, as a single tear slipped down.

“Not one of you stood up and said a word to her. You let her go on spouting her bullshit, even though it hurt me. Why has no one stopped her? She’s called me names and slyly threatened my mother a number of times, not just here. So fuck you Lancelot, because if that would have been my family, I would have been in her face in seconds.” She slammed her foot down on his, shocking him and giving her the time to slip out of his arms.

“She’s dead,” he said, watching her step to the front of the store.

She stopped, her head lowered and Lancelot saw the tears rolling down her face. “I’m sorry, so sorry.” Elisa turned, the anguish in her face tore at his heart. “I never wanted this. I tried, I really did, but she hated me the second she saw me, now so will your father.” Elisa lifted her hand up, staring at her ring. “Maybe we shouldn’t…” he didn’t give her time to finish that sentence.

“Never say that Little Geek, never,” he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight. “As far as I’m concerned, she had fair warning, and Father does not hate you. He’s sad, but knew something was off with her ever since she was small. He can’t wait to see you, Elisa. You have always been his little girl.” He kissed her forehead when she looked up at him, her mascara running down her face.

“Really, but she was his blood.” Lancelot shook his head.

“No, there is where you are wrong. She wasn’t my father’s daughter. We knew that last year. Seems my mother wasn’t as faithful as she claimed she was, but then again, they weren’t Blood Mates.”
