Her Stepbrothers Are Blood Suckers

Elisa glanced over at Beth and smiled. She was laughing, but trying to keep it in.

“What’s so funny,” Lucas asked glancing over his shoulder at her.

“That is the most I’ve heard you say to anyone in a long time. You must really like her,” Beth winked Elisa and Lucas growled.

“Beth…” he shook his head. “Anyway. There is a clearing about a mile away from here that I think would be perfect for you wedding, if you would like to see it?” Lucas turned his attention to his woman.

“Really? That would be nice and give me a chance to scope out my new surroundings.” Lancelot helped her up as the others stood. His woman just kept surprising him.

“I’m sorry, but we can’t have half of those people your mother invited to you wedding. It will be very small.” Lucas said moving next to Beth as they all followed down a path into a forest that was so strange, but beautiful.

He snorted wrapping his arm around her waist as they walked.

Flowers that were twice the size of his hands, colors that were so bright, and that is when Elisa saw something that had her stopping their movement forward. “What is that?” she pointed to the ape like creature and Beth laughed.

“That’s the sex fiend I was telling you about earlier. He has to check out each new person that comes to this world. Your men should watch out, he might steal you away from them, literally,” she growled waving her hands at the thing in a swishing motion. “Go on get.”

“When did he try to take you?” Edward glared at the offending ape animal. “I’ll fry his ass.”

Beth smiled. “So vicious. He learned his lesson and won’t do it again.” Magic swirled around her as she teased their king, Edward.

“Is it safe for the children?” Elisa asked looking down at Teddy and Rick. He could sense her nervousness as she tried to step in front of the children.

He smiled kissing the side of her neck. “Always so protective of others,” he whispered.

Lucas nodded. “I knew she’d be a fine match for you, plus a good friend to our woman.”

“Please, the boys are safe. That monkey does not want to see a pissed off momma.” As if it understood her, he grunted and turned to leave.

“I don’t think you’ll be walking around by yourself for a while. You’d either end up lost or end of surrounded by those things,” Lancelot grumbled and hugged her tight.

“Well then, one of you will have to come with me to explore.” She grinned up at him.

“Don’t forget you’ll have plenty to do helping me cataloging and going through the years of history of our world,” Lucas said.

“I can’t wait. I love to research and work with old things,” Elisa said and covered her mouth. “Sorry I didn’t mean,” she mumbled burying her face into his chest.

Everyone laughed as Lancelot pulled her back away. “I do believe you are the youngest here except for the children,” Lancelot teased.

Elisa went to swing at him and he laughed catching her hand. “Don’t worry, we’ll start your training soon.” He spun her around and slapped her ass. “Now get moving, we have much to do.”

Thirty minutes later, after exploring the woods with the children, they broke free of forest. Elisa stood there with her mouth open just staring as Lancelot did too.

Orange and blue cliffs surrounded them as they stood at the edge of a platform of a purple, white, and blue flowers. The red sun above lit the idyllic scene.

“It’s the same place,” Elisa mumbled and everyone turned to her staring.

He stepped up behind her and wrapped his arms around her. “What’s the same place, Little Geek?” he asked almost afraid of the answer.

  *****

It was the same good dream Elisa had since a child. Her fantasy wedding. Men on weird looking horses, women in clothes of olden times, and most important, surrounded by only a few intimate friends.

She spun in Lancelot’s arms just as Jason and Tarek walked out of the woods to join them. “This is the place I’ve dreamed of since a child. I always believed it was a fantasy type thing, because of the way it looked.” She frowned and peeked over at Lucas. “But in the dreams, my friends were here. They can’t come can they?”

“How many?” Lucas asked studying her.

“Three, I’ve known them from kindergarten,” she leaned back on her heels laughing. “Two of them moved to Cleveland with me and even took classes with me.” She wiggled her eyebrows. “I do believe Turtle has a thing for my Sensei, Darius. Even he acts different around her. Then there are Shelly and Karen. But I don’t know if I can get Karen here.” she snorted. “Well other than the usual being a different plant, Karen is afraid to leave where she’s at. Turtle, Shelly and I were going to make a trip to Oregon to pack her stuff and drag her away, but, well, things happened.”

“Why is your friend afraid to leave her home?” Beth asked as she and Claire came over to her.

Elisa smiled. “This little town is a bunch of religious old farts. Who more or less think women are good for one thing —producing children. It’s one of the reasons my mom was frowned upon because she couldn’t and wouldn’t have more than one child. Needless to say dad didn’t take it too well, and neither did the rest of the community. Let’s just say Karen’s father is three times worse than my father was and he’s not a wimp like my dad.” Elisa nodded to Lancelot.

“He’s about as big as Lancelot, built like a tank and as mean as you can get. Hell, he even hit me a few times when I stepped in front of Karen trying to protect her from him. That was one of the reasons why the rest of us were all taking classes from Darius.”

Lucas nodded. “Let me think about this, we’ll figure out a way to have your friends here.”

Beth glared at him. “There is no thinking, she’s giving up a lot. Anyway it looks like we need to take a trip to Oregon.” Beth cracked her knuckles, but behind her Dred and Rock both growled.

“You will not be going anywhere. You’re lucky you got to go to the hotel. Are you forgetting what happened the last time you were pregnant,” Dred yelled, coming over to her growling.

One minute he was there, the next he was gone. She turned to Elisa. “Sorry about that, but my husband needed to cool down a bit. Now, what you have to do is take these men with you to Oregon, but before you go, I’ll give you a few spells you can use. I’ve noticed that a few small towns that are very religious are sometimes controlled by wizards who think their shit doesn’t stink.” She smiled up at Edward who came up to her resting his hand on her stomach.

“I’m sorry about Dred and Rock, but you know how upset they get,” Edward said and turned to her. “Since Beth does not have much to do, she’s restricted by her condition, she has been doing research and what she has uncovered is amazing. Even the Grand Wizard was impressed.”

“Don’t pay him no mind, he’s the Grand Wizard, my father gave him his mantel. Anyway, these spells that I will I teach you will help verify my conclusions. I believe you have enough of the gift that you can do this, and I want you to do it before you even step into the city. I’ll explain more later.” They all turned to see a very pissed and wet shifter coming right for Beth, but Lucas stepped in front of him.

“Stop and cool down. She had no intentions of going. You need to start trusting her Dred, or you’re going to drive the wall up again and I won’t have it,” Lucas snapped.

The tension in the air was thick, but again something was off. Elisa stepped away from the group and walked around. “Something isn’t right here. There is a presence, but not. It’s like something is trying to find its way here, but can’t so it’s sending…”

“I think this must be my brother in law! He’s enhancing our negative emotions. Every time I think I have him blocked, he finds a way to stir up trouble, but it is odd that you can pick up on him.” Lucas released his powers, surrounding all of them.

“Someone or something is interested in you Elisa,” Lucas walked around her and Jason stepped forward, but Lancelot held h
is hand out.

  “Why?” Lancelot asked.

“I have no idea, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough. This does change things. If we are going to have this wedding, I say we do it sooner than later. Tomorrow.”

“What?” Beth screeched. “That isn’t enough time to get her friends and everything ready!”

“We have no choice, Beth.” Lucas glanced at her. “I’ll bring your mother and father over today. Beth, take her to the video room. Lancelot, you, Jason and Edward will have to get this Karen out of that town and here along with her other friends. Also let Darius come too. I’ve heard good things about him and he’d be an asset here.” he glanced at Edward.

“Who else on Earth is going to need to be here?” he asked Edward.

Elisa shook her head and started to walk back into the forest. Things were so out of her league it wasn’t funny.

“You’ll get used to it,” Claire said coming up to her side.

“I doubt that. I’m used to doing everything myself. I feel useless right now. Do you know how much I looked forward to kicking Karen’s father’s ass?”

Claire and Beth laughed. “Yea, I know, but the important part is to get them here. You do realize once they’re here there is no going back?” Beth asked.

No, she hadn’t thought of that, but thinking about Karen’s life now, anything would be better, especially since the last time she had talked to Karen, Igor had been sniffing around her friend too much.

No, her friends needed to come here. They wanted adventure, well they now had it.

  Chapter Fifteen

Elisa paced back and forth in front of the big screen, shooting glares at Jason and Lancelot. “Do you know how crazy she’s going to drive us having her here now full time? Did you have to invite them?”

Lancelot laughed. “They have nothing to hold them there on Earth, plus your Mother needs you, Little Geek. Even I can see this. On a positive note, your mother will have another one to worry about soon enough. Plus, it’s safer here for them especially with your mom pregnant.”

She plopped down in the rocker recliner and nodded. “I know, but this so sucks for a honeymoon. I mean, come on, having your mom living with you? You sure there’s no way we can get away for a week or two somewhere?” she asked.

“Nope, not with Beth’s brother paying attention to you. So have you picked out the dress?” he asked, looking at the screen.

“Yes, but it’s not up there. Do you really believe I’d let you see my wedding dress before the wedding? Not happening, and no digging in my mind either.” Elisa got up and moved to where Lancelot was sitting. She crawled onto his lap.

“Did you get the pumpkins, candles and other clothes?” she asked?

“Yes, are you really sure you want us in these old fashioned clothes?” He wrapped his arms around her and nipped her bottom lip.

“Yep, everyone needs to be in Victorian styled clothes. Aren’t you going to like it? I mean it is your time period, or one of them, is it not?” she tried to tease again and he snorted.

“Nope, I was earlier, my sweet Geek,” he patted her butt and lifted her up off of him. “Edward comes. Soon we’ll have Karen here. We’re going to go for her first. Lucas will meet us as soon as we have her away from that city. Tarek is going to stay here with you.”

Lancelot turned to leave, but she grabbed onto his arm, stopping him. “Beth was telling me about the children at the home where she found Teddy. Why not bring the children here? I mean, they would be safe. Shelly and Karen both would be great at helping to teach them.”

“I’ve been thinking about the same thing, but we didn’t have anyone to teach them here. I believe that some of the staff would be willing to come and Lucas has already cleared a few of them,” Edward said coming into the room holding little Betsy.

“It would give my friends a reason to be here. With Turtle’s computer knowledge, I’m sure she can set up computers so the children aren’t so cut off from everyone. I’m sure once you show her how you’re getting your information here, she’ll be able to do miracle work. Plus, I’d miss my web surfing and my books.” She smiled at Edward holding out her hands.

  “Can I?” Elisa asked.

“I was hoping you would. Beth will be here in a minute. She’s taking Teddy over to Claire’s so you two can make plans about housing for your friends.” He handed her the little girl.

“She’s been fed so Betsy should be good, but just in case, here’s an extra bottle and a change of clothes,” Edward stated dropping a small bag onto the table. “You ready?” he asked.

“Wait, I should give you something so Karen won’t flip out.” Elisa frowned. “Ask her how she did on her final in High School?” Elisa laughed. “She’ll know I sent ya.”

“So when will I get to see your home?” Elisa asked Lancelot. She sat in the chair where he had been sitting and looked down at the baby.

“Not until our wedding night, Little Geek. We have a few surprises for you, plus after midnight there is no seeing the bride remember?” he grumbled.

Her mother had stomped her foot and demanded that her men stay away from them tonight. So Beth’s house was the girl’s house while the men would be bunking with Lancelot at his.

“Ours,” he leaned down and kissed her lips quickly and smiling at the little girl. “She is a beauty and very talented already from what I’ve seen. Now, be good and we’ll take you out for a walk later so we can have some alone time before we spilt up.”

“Ha, what am I going to do, sitting here with a baby?” she asked and he rolled his eyes.

“Remember the night you stayed home alone when my father took your mom to visit some friends?”

Elisa looked up at Lancelot and then busted out laughing. “Hey, I was a teenager. We have parties when parents go away,” she smiled so hard her cheeks hurt.

“Parties? There were over 300 kids there. Did you know how long it took Jason and I to send them home, and to make sure they weren’t loaded when driving?”

Edward laughed behind them. “I think I actually remember you telling me about that party. You got called away from the adult party, if I remember correctly.”

“What my husband is saying is, Lancelot got called away from an orgy. Before we married it was common practice to have them in the castle. That was until Edward got a little jealous and he didn’t want me seeing any naked men.” Beth said

“You have four men who service your every need, you sure don’t need any other,” Edward grumbled pulling her into his arms and kissing her hard. “Now be good and just in case, Dred has volunteered to stay behind and help you with anything you need.”

Beth looked over to the door to where Dred had stepped into the room. “I’m not talking to him.” She moved over to the computer and started to type information in.

“Beth you have to settle this. One it’s not good for the baby for you to be so upset and two…” Edward said but stopped when she spun on him.

“Don’t even go there! He’s the one that jumped to conclusions! Do you all really think I killed our child? I thought we had this behind us, but it’s obvious we didn’t.” Her lips started to quiver and Elisa even wanted to cry.

The little one in her arms did cry. She was not happy at all, sensing the unhappiness of her parents.

“What’s wrong?” Little Teddy came running in holding a little Boy Scout knife.

The Queen swallowed and took a deep breath. “Nothing is wrong Teddy,” Beth came over and took Betsy into her arms. “I was just having a little heated dispute with your fathers… and are you supposed to be running with that?” She glared at Edward.

“He’s old enough to have it and Teddy was just coming to your rescue, but your mother is right. You shouldn’t have been running with it. Remember what I told you.” Edward said and ruffled the boy’s hair as Lucas and Rock came in next.

“Jeez, I’m fine just a little emotional. You know it’s going to get worse as I get further along?” she asked them and
they all moaned.

“I don’t think we’re going to survive this,” Rock said coming over and hugging her with the baby too. “I’m sorry. You’re right I was thinking the same thing earlier and it was wrong. You didn’t do anything, please forgive me, Little Witch.” Rock said rubbing his chin against her head.

“I’m fine, let’s not do this here in front of our guests.” She leaned up and kissed his ear. “But it hurt, more than anything you two have done,” she said sitting back at the computer with the baby in her arms.

Elisa got up and moved to the desk. “You know I was thinking we could work on some pumpkins. I thought we have so many a few carved would look cool placed around. Plus it will give us something to do with the little ones later.”

“Thank you,” Beth said reaching over and taking her hand squeezing it. “Could you make sure we have ten pumpkins brought up here before you leave?” She asked Edward and he nodded.

“I’ll bring over your favorite Chinese food for dinner?” he asked and she smiled.

“You like Chinese, don’t you? I mean I can’t ask our cook to make us dinner when he’s getting married tomorrow.” Beth asked and Elisa nodded.

“Sounds good and I know for a fact Karen loves it. You’re so going to love her, Beth I just felt so bad for her being there isolated and I couldn’t do a damn thing to help.”

  *****

Lancelot watched Edward as he whispered the spell, Beth had given him. In a moment, they were standing on the city limits, along with Rock and Jason.

Even though he knew it wouldn’t take all of them to retrieve Karen, Lancelot would personally see to Karen’s father.

“Let’s go. I do believe we will find Karen at her job at the grocery store,” Edward said moving forward, but Jason and Rock stepped in front of him.
