Forget Me Not

by K. S. Thomas

The reader turned friend, who sends you coffee meme’s most mornings and has no idea how often you smile in moments when you didn’t think you could because you were too exhausted, or stressed or anxious or everything was just going plain wrong...before that coffee meme.

The Wattpad crew who patiently waits in between chapters, ignores errors and cheers you on as you figure out what the hell you’re trying to say.

The ex, who picks up two bags of coffee because he knows you’re running low, and dude, that is going to be a problem.

The dad who brags about you when you can’t hear it, but you know him, so you know he does, and that means something.

It’s the damn dogs, who make sure you never sit still for more than fifteen minutes at a time...and sitting is the new smoking, so, they’re keeping all those years tacked onto your life and you can’t be mad about that.

It’s the proofreader who saves your ass at the last minute every time, even though you promised on the last project, next book you’d be better prepared. You’re not. And she knows. She does it anyway.

The PA who popped up at just the right moment to do all the stuff you’re so sucky at and to top it off, gives you the gift of TIME!

The author friends who make writing dates with you and push you when you get off track.

The book bloggers who support you, who shower you with kind words when your own are way too harsh for your book’s good.

It’s the beta readers, who plow through messy first drafts and give you gifts of honest feedback, countless corrected typos and priceless brainstorming sessions.

And, it’s the daughter, who believes in you. Who thinks you’re AMAZING and so, you know, you gotta at least try to be.

This is but a small sample of the long list, but I think you get the idea. I may have written the book, but they’re the reason I was able to. Another reason are the crazy shenanigans we get into in the Fans of all things Coffee and K.S. Thomas group on Facebook.

Awesomely crazy stuff like this group poem we wrote a while back :-D

Just thought you all should know: thanks to all the fun and awesomeness this poem represents,

It's going into the acknowledgements. ~ Me

Oh, and that time I asked everyone to come up with crazy one-liners so I could pick the funniest ones and hide them in the book! Juli and Rachel – Memories Made and Forget Me Not will forever hold a fabulous tidbit of your fantastic humor.

  Thank you.

  Thank you ALL.

  More specifically:

Thanks to Barb, my proofreader extraordinaire.

Thanks to Nicole, the world’s greatest PA.

And, of course, thanks to my beta readers: Paula, Stephanie, Jordan, Christine, Tawnya, Rachel and Jules.

And last, but certainly not least – thank you. Without an audience, telling stories would be a lonely experience.

Did you love Forget Me Not? Then you should read One More Chapter by K.S. Thomas!

Having overdosed on the cold, unyielding aspects of reality at an early age, books became a welcome escape I was happy to dedicate my life to. Editing romance novels seemed like the perfect career choice for the girl who craved fantasy and a world she could exercise a little control over. Bottom line, I like having a happy ending I can count on.

  Until...Jensen.

Where I prefer to have my head in the clouds, unattached to the tumultuous roller-coaster of real life, his feet are so firmly planted on the ground, they're sinking in and getting buried there.

Jensen seems an unlikely hero for any story, let alone mine. He's moody. And confused. And pretty damn sure there's no such thing as happy ever after.

But then that's the thing about all the best happy endings. They show up when you least expect them to.

  About the Author

Aside from being an author, I am also a mom to a beautiful little girl. I tell everyone I named her after my great-grandmother (because that's the mature answer), but really, I named her after my favorite princess - just so happens I got lucky and they had the same name...If I wasn't a writer, I would work on a horse ranch - I'm an animal lover (in addition to dogs, horses are at the top of my list). I wear flip-flops pretty much everywhere I go. I would rather stay awake until 5 am than get up at 5 am (years of bar tending have left their mark), if I can, I'm going to the beach AND I will always be nice to people who bring me chocolate...or coffee...if you bring me both, I'll probably love you forever.

A gypsy at heart, I write the way I live, following the story wherever it may lead, always ready to start the next one. This is clearly reflected in my body of work which to date includes everything from Children's Lit to Thrillers.

I happily reside in sunny Florida (for now) and can be contacted via my blog (www.friedgatortail.com), my website (www.auhtorksthomas.com) or the following social media sites ~
