“I love you,” I choked. I’d been waiting to say the words until I could look into her eyes. She looked startled at first, but quickly recovered.
“I love you, too.” Her cheeks turned pink. Her fingers traced my jawbone. “I didn’t want to leave you. Maybe one day I can explain everything that happened, but right now I’m too tired to do much of anything but lie here and look at you.”
I loved her so much it hurt.
“Now explain why the hell I feel like my entire unit of werewolves is in my head.”
“Pack bonds.”
“Pack bonds? Did you? Are you? What happened?”
I kissed her on the cheek. “Let’s just say I can stay in Wisconsin and help finish that resurrection project you call a house.”

Jacky Russell is married to a non-werewolf and lives in North Carolina on a farm that serves as a half-way house for demon dogs and other animals who have lost their way. When not hard at work on the next adventures of Bravo Company and the Wisconsin Werewolf Pack, Jacky is a vocal fan of the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team.
