Andrew nodded and then pulled open a few of the drawers in the back room. He closed them again when he found them empty.

Annie closed her eyes and tried to imagine her crew here working, the sounds and smells of her restaurant superimposed in this new space. It wasn’t too hard to imagine really the same in some ways but also improved. She could imagine Ryder and Andrew at the counter, and Jack at the grill. She could even picture Sara, Tyler, or Gage picking up coffee on the way to work or the three of them curled up in a booth having dinner.

It would be a whole new experience catering to a crowd of sexually open-minded people. She’d still have some of her old regulars, she was sure, but once people caught wind of the nature of this new town, she doubted too many of the people she served now would want any part of it. Would there be enough business to keep it going? She didn’t think the campground guests alone would provide enough business to support the place. She’d need to attract some of the locals, too.

“Do you want to see the house?” Ryder asked.

Much to her surprise Andrew nodded almost enthusiastically. Was he warming up to the place?

“Yeah,” Annie agreed. “Let’s see the house.”

  Chapter 15

Andrew looked around the master bedroom and tried to envision the three of them living in the space. He had to admit. It was more appealing than he originally thought. Could they really do it? Could this whole new town, new business, and new way of life really happen?

There were so many things that he’d never even considered, but now that he was faced with them, he couldn’t help but want to take the next step. Living with Annie and Ryder? He knew he should feel overwhelmed by that idea, but he didn’t. Andrew was tired of living alone, and he was confident that they would work out the minor details along the way. If Annie wanted the restaurant, and Ryder wanted the campground, then he wanted in, too. Three incomes and three pairs of hands made everything seem more doable.

Running for public office was also terrifying, in its own way, but the more he kicked it around in his head, the more he liked the idea. He’d always been good at his job. He took to police work like a duck to water, but not because he wanted to throw his weight around like some of the other guys that they worked with, but because he really cared about people. He wanted a safer public, wanted to live in a stronger community, and he wanted to be smart about enforcing laws. As sheriff, he’d have a lot more decision making power than he did now, and that appealed to him a lot. The former sheriff, Jeremy, Sara’s ex, had damn near terrorized the town, but those wounds were healing, and the area needed some new leadership.

He tried to picture a typical day in the life…waking up next to Annie, working alongside Ryder, helping to craft a new town, coming home to amazing cooking, a fire in the fireplace, his best friend, and the woman they loved. It seemed almost too good to be possible.

“What are you thinking?” Ryder asked, coming up behind him and startling him out of his daydream.

“I can’t say I’m not still mad at you for springing this on me outta nowhere. You seem to be doing a lot of that lately, but it is a nice place, and I can see how you got thinking the way you did. We could live here—the three of us—make a pretty good go of it.”

  “Yeah. I think so, too.”

“You think it’s going to happen? Really? Think we’ll be the pioneers of a whole new town of people who want relationships like ours?” Andrew asked. “Seems a little like fiction.”

“I think Tyler, Gage, and Sara are incredible people. Powerful people. I think us plus them makes a pretty good start. One or two more and we already have a community. It doesn’t have to be big, but I think it could get big. There’s a lot of people out there looking for some place to belong.”

Andrew nodded. “I think so, too.”

“We’re likely to come up against some people who want nothing to do with it on the onset, but trendsetters always do.”

“What are you two whispering about over here?” Annie asked, coming to join them.

“Oh we’re just trying to figure out how we’ll get a bed big enough for three up the steps,” Ryder teased.

“Well you better figure it out in a hurry,” Annie replied. “Because I’m not getting squished between you two cover hogs on a small bed every night.”

“How would you know if we steal the covers?” Ryder asked.

“Well, I just have a hunch,” Annie answered. “But maybe it’s time I find out for sure.”

Andrew wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. “Are you saying what I think you’re saying, darlin’?”

“I’m saying I think we should move this party back to my house,” Annie said.

  Chapter 16

Annie barely managed to get her key in the front door before collapsing against the wall in a tangle of limbs with her men. All thoughts vanished from her mind as she was overcome with the warmth of their passion. She’d waited too long, and now it felt as if she couldn’t get close enough fast enough. She needed them. Now.

The whole way home, Andrew had made out with her in the backseat of Ryder’s SUV, kissing her with such intensity, touching her in ways that she’d never before experienced. He’d started slowly, kissing her, nibbling at her bottom lip, running his hands over her arms and legs. Now she was so hot she was ready to explode.

She wasn’t even sure whose hands were whose, but the three of them mostly managed to stumble out of their clothes as they traversed the hallway to the bedroom. Ryder had taken the more aggressive role, as soon as he’d parked the car, and the intensity of the whole experience had rocketed upward.

By the time they’d reached the bed, Annie was fully naked, but both men still had their jeans on, a fact that stuck her as horribly unfair. Attacking Ryder’s belt buckle with her fingers, she tried to remedy the situation, but Andrew was climbing up on the bed after her, spreading her legs from behind as she knelt over Ryder.

“God I’ve wanted you in this position for so long,” Andrew whispered. He ran his hand down her back and over the curve of her ass reverently. “Naked, between us, just where you should be.”

Ryder captured her lips from below, dipping his tongue into her mouth and getting a good fistful of her hair. It was just rough enough to leave her panting. She wanted to undress them, to feel their naked skin against hers, but they took turns holding her wrists, lacing their fingers through hers, so they could touch her with maddening devotion. She pushed her ass up, rubbing back against the rough material of Andrew’s jeans, and he indulged her, putting his thigh between her legs to give her friction.

Ryder cupped her breasts, pinching her nipples between his thumb and index finger, before releasing them and starting again. The pressure sent bolts of electricity right to her core, and she couldn’t help but moan at the pleasure. He added his mouth a moment later, sucking and nibbling at the underside of her left breast and then the right, her nipples still pinched firmly between his fingers.

From behind, Andrew slipped his hand between her legs and found her clit. All she could think was I want more! It was exquisite torture being pressed between the two of them. “Please,” she begged softly, unable to form anything more coherent.

Andrew disappeared from the bed for a moment, and her back side was suddenly cool without his warmth. To her delight she heard the unmistakable sound of his jeans hitting the floor, and then the tearing of a condom packet.

Ryder kept her occupied, grinding against her from below, kissing her lips and her neck.

Andrew rejoined them a moment later, this time now gloriously naked. “Are you ready for me, sweetheart?” he asked.

“God, yes,” Annie panted. She hadn’t caught her breath since they’d gotten out of the car.

With both hands planted firmly on her hips, Andrew entered her from behind. Arching back, she took his whole length, with a moan that was half pleasure and half relief.

“Fuck that’s beautiful,” Ryder said. Annie looked down to see him wa
tching her being fucked by his best friend.

Cupping the back of her head, Ryder pulled her in for a deep kiss. She cried out into his mouth as Andrew started long deep strokes that she could feel all the way down in her toes. Ryder smiled at her loss of control, and then went to work on her breasts all over again.

Annie gave into the heightening sensations letting the two men take control of her. Ryder’s clever fingers found her clit as she writhed on Andrew’s cock and before she could hold it back a powerful orgasm was raging through her. Andrew increased the pace fucking her right through it and finally crying out behind her as he spilled his seed inside of her.

Annie collapsed onto Ryder’s chest, feeling tingly all over. Would it always feel this good? God, she hoped so.

  Chapter 17

“Huh uh. I’m not done with you yet.” Ryder chuckled, rolling Annie over onto her back.

His erection was so hard it was almost painful. It had taken every last ounce of his self-control to not explode in his pants while he watched Annie come all over his fingers and Andrew’s cock.

She let out a little moan that sent pulses straight to his balls. God, how he wanted her. He needed her.

Finally freeing his aching cock from his fly he discarded his pants and underwear as fast as he could. Andrew handed him a condom and he smiled gratefully in return. He was sure Andrew could appreciate his need for urgency. He’d fantasized about this moment for so long, it was almost hard to believe it was happening.

Andrew lay down on the bed beside Annie, and she turned her face to him, kissing him sweetly while Ryder slid the condom onto his length. Moving between her legs, Ryder pushed her thighs apart with his palms and sunk into her hot wet pussy. It was the most exquisite feeling he could remember ever experiencing. This was the start of something incredible.

“Fuck, feels so good,” he breathed, starting to pick up the pace.

Annie met him stroke for stroke, lifting her hips to take him deeper. If she was tired from the first orgasm, she gave no sign. He wanted this to last for a really long time, but there was no way it was going to. Annie dug the fingers of her right hand into his hip, pulling him tight as he rocked into her. Her other hand was laced through Andrew’s fingers. Andrew was whispering to her, and Ryder couldn’t make out all of the words, but whatever he was saying, it seemed to be driving her crazy.

“Our girl likes it rough,” Andrew said, louder, looking at Ryder. “Give it to her hard.”

Ryder didn’t need to be told twice. Putting his hands under Annie’s ass, he lifted her hips and pounded into her. “He right?” Ryder asked. “You want it hard?”

  “Oh God yes,” Annie answered.

“You like having your pussy fucked by us?”

Annie tossed her head back and moaned her agreement. Her leg muscles tensed around him.

“You gonna come for me? Let me have it,” Ryder commanded.

Waves of heat crashed over him as she came. Unable to hold back any longer, Ryder followed her down with a cry of satisfaction. The orgasm was so intense he saw black spots for a moment before he collapsed on the bed beside her.

Exhausted, they curled up together, and lay panting.

Andrew placed a gentle kiss on Annie’s spine. “Most beautiful thing I ever saw,” he whispered.

Annie smiled, and Ryder had to agree.

  Chapter 18

Annie woke feeling warmer and safer than she ever had in her life. Both of her men were still sleeping, one on either side of her, despite the sunlight creeping in the windows. What time is it?

Squinting at the alarm clock she saw it was almost 6:30. Shit. She was supposed to be opening the diner in half an hour. Hopefully Jack was there on time and already getting started.

“Guys, wake up,” she said reluctantly, putting a hand on each of their shoulders to shake them. She was greeted with nearly identical mumbling that would have been adorable if she wasn’t going to be late. “Time to get up.”

Ryder finally cracked one eye open. “What day is it?”

“Wednesday. 6:30 a.m. I’m supposed to open in half an hour. You can sleep in, but I wasn’t sure when you had to be at work.”

Ryder blinked a couple of times before answering. “Wednesday. We don’t go in until this afternoon. Three to eleven.”

“Then forget I woke you,” Annie said, placing a kiss on his forehead. “Come over for breakfast when you get up.”

“Hey,” said a groggy voice from the other side of the bed. “Don’t I get a kiss too?”

Annie laughed and walked around to kiss Andrew’s forehead, too. “Not on the lips with my smelly morning breath. I gotta go. Come over when you get hungry.”

She showered as quickly as possible, smiling when she realized she was a little sore between the legs. Those two had done a number on her the night before. She replayed it over in her mind as she rinsed. Yeah. She wanted more of that.

She was changed and out the door in fifteen minutes. The smell of coffee and the sizzle of the grill told her Jack had indeed been on time.

“Jack?” she called, coming around the corner.

“Already poured you a cup, boss,” he answered, handing her a cup of fresh coffee.

“Oh my god. You’re a life saver.”

“Rough night, huh?” he asked with a wink. “I saw you had company. Figured you’d be late.”

“You don’t know the half of it,” she answered, ducking into the back to get two dozen eggs. “But thank you for opening up. Before anyone else shows, can I ask you something?”

“Are you going to ask me what I’ll think if both of those cops walk over here from your house for breakfast?”

“Something like that, yeah,” Annie agreed, brushing a loose hair back from her face.

“I’ll think it’s none of my damn business.”

“Good man,” Annie said with a small sigh of relief.

  “Annie?”

  “Yeah?”

“I’m glad they are making you happy.”

Annie stopped and set down eggs. “I am happy,” she stated as if she’d just made up her mind. “And you know what?”

  “What?”

“If you can keep a secret. I’ll tell you.”

  “Sure can,” Jack agreed.

  “I think we’re moving.”

  “Moving?” Jack asked, surprised.

“Yeah. Have you ever been up to that little campground of exit 97? Used to be Sunshine or Sunnyview or something?”

“Sunny Ridge, I think. I’ve been past it.”

“Well I think we’re going to buy it and move the diner over there. I’m hoping you’ll be up for coming with me.”

“Well that’s not too far from here, really, but I’m renting month-to-month in my current place, so I see no reason not to move closer if I can. I like to be within ten or fifteen minutes of work to save on the gas. You buying the whole place or just the restaurant part?” he asked.

“Whole place, I think. Ryder is going to run the camp, and I’m going to run the restaurant. I haven’t even told them yes yet, but I saw the place yesterday, and I like it, and I think it’s time for a change. What do you think?”

“Well I obviously haven’t seen it, but you seem really excited about it.”

“Morning,” Karen, one of the other waitresses called as she came in through the back door.

“Just between us for now?” Annie asked Jack.

Jack nodded before pushing a fresh potato through the cutter. Annie went to unlock the door.

If anyone other than Jack noticed when the boys walked over from her house for breakfast, no one commented. They both had big goofy grins on their faces, and as soon as she saw them, she realized she’d been walking around all morning with the same stupid look. She didn’t care though. Jack was right. They made her happy. She was jumping in with both feet, consequences be damned.

“I slept on it,” Annie said as soon as there was a break in the action. She was speaking mostly to Ryder who was about ha
lfway through a stack of blueberry pancakes, but Andrew was definitely listening. “And I’m in. I want to move the restaurant to the campground. If you buy the place, I’ll rent from you, or we’ll work out some sort of lease-to-own deal, or I’ll take part of the mortgage or whatever, but I’ve thought it through, and you just let me know what you need from me to get going.”

Both men smiled but Ryder’s was full of pure excitement and Andrew’s was a little bit of a nervous smile.

“Assuming, of course,” Annie continued, “that Andrew is in, too. Package deal. But I think the three of us could do it, with a little elbow grease.”

“I haven’t had quite enough time to think the sheriff gig over yet. And I’m worried about the three of us all making major life changes at once, but as long as we’re not talking about resigning from work right away, I’m in,” Andrew said. “I can’t remember too many nights more enjoyable than last night. I want to come home to that every night.”

“That last part goes for me, too,” Ryder added.

“You finish up at eleven?” Annie asked.

  They nodded their agreement.

“I should be home by then. Just let yourselves in.” She pulled a shiny object out of her apron pocket and laid her spare key on the counter in front of them.

  Chapter 19

“Feels a little unreal doesn’t it?” Andrew asked over the top of his coffee cup. He’d been feeling that way a lot lately.

They were in the station waiting on a witness to arrive. It had been a long evening. They’d made a fairly major drug bust right at the start of their shift. They’d pulled the guy over for erratic driving, probably a DUI, but then the plate turned up a red flag. The car was wanted, and it turned out the driver was, too. The suspect had been extremely paranoid and had tried to stab Andrew through the window as he approached the car. Fortunately, Ryder hadn’t been far behind him, and the two of them had subdued the suspect about as easily as you could with a drug addict. He’d overdosed and had probably been a few minutes from passing out behind the wheel. They’d likely saved his life by getting him to a medic, but he’d do jail time for sure. They’d found enough cocaine in the car to get him for intent to distribute, maybe more.
