“We’re sorry we can’t offer you a mother-in-law who would be a good second mother to you.”

“It doesn’t matter. My heart aches for the two of you and your relationship with her. And maybe in time, that can be restored. But don’t feel bad on my account, because I just know it’s going to be the same with my folks, where y’all are concerned.

“But you know what? We can’t let other people’s failings weigh on us. We’ll have our Commitment Ceremony here in Lusty, among the family and friends we do have. And we’ll build a life here, where we’re a part of this wonderful community.”

“And you’re good with that?” Jesse asked.

“How can I not be good with what you bring me? The two of you have made all the dreams I was afraid to believe in come true.”

Jesse moved so that he was looking down at her. “Thank you for that. You’ve done the same for us. I love you, Charlotta.”

Barry, on her other side, reached out and caressed her cheek. “You’re everything. We have you and nothing else matters. I love you, Charlotta.”

“I love you both very much. Please, make love to me.”

Barry drew the blankets off them, and then began to kiss his way down her body. They’d loved long and hard the night before, but with the dawn—with this new day in this still very new year—Charlotta knew it was the same for all of them. Their need was as strong as if they’d been days without touching, instead of hours.

She combed her fingers through Barry’s hair as he traveled down her body, spreading her legs for him when he reached her stomach, thrusting her pussy closer when his lips and tongue gave her cunt an incredibly erotic kiss.

She combed her fingers though Jesse’s hair, too, as she wound her arm around his neck. She used her hold on him to draw him down to her mouth. She opened to him, her tongue stroking his, drinking him in, and reveling in the taste and the texture and the essence of her lover.

She adored this, the buildup, the exciting ascent, and when she thought to hold off her orgasm, to greedily ride that tide a little bit longer, her men took control. As if they were of one mind, Jesse caressed her breast, drew her nipple between his thumb and forefinger, and squeezed. Barry slid his fingers inside her pussy, teased her sweet spot, and sucked her clit into his mouth.

Her orgasm burst from her, a flood of pleasure so intense that she felt her juices flow into Barry’s eager mouth.

“You taste so good to me,” Barry kissed the inside of her thighs.

Jesse lifted his lips from hers and she reached for Barry, wanting very much to taste herself on his lips. He never denied her anything—neither of them did—and she gave and took and shivered with the awesomeness of it all.

Their kiss rekindled her passion, a passion that she knew would always be there, ready to tap, ready to please. She’d never cared for this intimate a sharing before the Benedicts came into her life. But these men were her mates, and she understood as never before the difference between having sex with a convenient body, and making love to the men destined to be hers.

When Barry lifted his lips from hers and grinned, she smiled back. “I want to return the favor.” She used her hands to push him and when his back hit the mattress, she coiled around and had his cock in her mouth before he could utter a single sound.

“Ooh, look at what I found.” Jesse’s hand caressed her naked ass.

Charlotta drew Barry’s cock from her mouth and looked over her shoulder at his brother. “You know what they say…finders, keepers.”

“Don’t worry, love I am definitely keeping this pretty ass. And I’m going to fuck it, too.”

The image of the sensations that would soon flood her body as Jesse proved true to his word shivered through her. “Good. I need to feel your cock in my ass.”

Charlotta knew how this would play out—or she thought she did. She swirled her tongue over the tiny eye in Barry’s cockhead, then slid her tongue beneath it, to play over the small indentation there. That always got him hot, and he rewarded her with a drop of pre-cum. She swallowed it gratefully and set to work on earning more.

“Your mouth feels so good on my cock, baby. Mmm, yeah. But I want to come in that hot pussy of yours. Come here and take my cock into your cunt, Shar. Come here and ride me.”

Charlotta grinned around his cock, and then slid her mouth off him, sucking all the way. The loud plop at the end made Barry moan, because that was something he loved, too.

“You just want your cock in my pussy while your brother is fucking my ass.”

Barry’s grin was nothing short of lascivious. It was a look he surprised her with from time to time, and one that always made her even hornier than she already was.

“That’s right, so get up here, Dr. Carmichael. Let’s ride.”

She loved it when they laughed and teased as they loved. She loved it when they were rough and raw. She loved it when caresses and sweet sipping kisses spilled into hot, soft, gentle loving.

She loved making love with these two men any way and every way she could get it.

Charlotta crawled up Barry’s body. He held the base of his cock for her, keeping it upright, while she impaled herself on him. Before he removed his hand, he flicked his finger over her clit.

Charlotta closed her eyes and stretched her arms high above her head, reaching for the stars as she rolled her hips. The action brought an image to the forefront of her thoughts, an image that she’d suppressed for far, far too long. She stilled on him, and then opened her eyes and met his gaze. “I’ll give you the kind of lap dance I never gave anyone else.” And as she imagined doing just that, she could hear Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ It Down” in her head. When she’d heard it the other night at the Dancing Pony, she’d had to push the thought of her moving just for her men out of her mind. Now, she embraced that thought. Her body began to move and rock and swirl. She undulated her hips in a sultry, sexy rhythm. Barry’s smile widened, and she leaned her torso over him and gave her breasts a tiny shake, teasing him with their nearness. It was the first time she’d dared to bring her dancing into their relationship—into their lovemaking.

“Oh, baby. One of these days.” Barry sighed, reached up and caressed her breasts. “Maybe we’ll have a pole installed in the house we’re going to build.” He gave a quick grin. “We’ll put in an exercise room.” And then he raised his eyebrows twice in rapid succession, a mock leering look that made her grin.

“Well, lover, pole dancing is very good exercise.”

“You pole dancing would be damn good exercise for all of us.” Jesse came up behind her on the bed, and kissed her shoulder. “You’ll make us hot, and we won’t be able to keep our hands off you.” Then he licked the shell of her ear. “Give me your ass, woman.”

Thoughts of dancing for her lovers slid away as she laid her head on Barry’s chest, her breasts nestled against him and her ass pointed toward Jesse. He kissed a trail up her spine while his fingers spread the cool, slick lube. He used two fingers to insert some lube inside her ass, to protect her, and then she felt his condom-covered cock pressing against her anus.

She loved this kind of sex best of all, when the three of them became joined together. Jesse seemed to read her thoughts, because as her anus opened, as he began to penetrate her, he said, simply, “Ours.”

“Yes, ours.” Barry echoed his brother, and then thrust his cock up into her.

Hot, tight, and oh so good, Charlotta knew that just as she valued this joining as three into one, they valued the symbolism of possession—their possession of her. It was raw, it was feral, it was not politically correct.

But it was right. It was very, very right, and called for a response. So she gave them the only response. “Yes. Yours. Now and always, yours.”

Then she rocked her hips and contracted her inner muscles, caressing the cocks inside her. And because she was a twenty-first century woman, she said, “Mine.”

  “Yours,” they said together.

  “From this day forward.
 Jesse vowed.

“Even beyond forever.” Barry stroked the back of her head. “We’re yours—and only yours.”

Passion ruled, and they became lost in the music of love, and the heat of their bodies, rocking, rolling, riding, sliding, until together, they shared the jubilant rapture.

Sometimes, in the aftermath, it was like this, the shivering, a physical reaction to the most potent orgasms. Barry cuddled her close, turning on his side so she had a pillow under her head. He brought the blankets over them both, snuggled her in, and when Jesse slid into the bed behind her, she sighed with the wondrous sensation of being sandwiched snug between them.

“It gets any better, and I won’t be able to walk.” She didn’t think she’d mind that so much.

Masculine chuckles sounding more than a little smug were her prize for that observation.

“Yeah,” Jesse said. “I think Valentine’s Day is a good Ceremony date for us.”

“You’re certain you want to hook up with a couple of outcasts?” Barry asked. “Be sure, princess, because once we give our vows and have our rings on your finger, you’ll never be able to get rid of us.”

“You’re not outcasts to me,” Charlotta said. “And I’ve got news for you, cowboy. The real vows have already been given and accepted. It’s already too late for you, Barry Benedict. And that goes for you, too, Jesse. Y’all will never be rid of me.”

“Thank God,” Jesse said. “And as for being outcasts, I don’t care. I don’t give a damn what anyone else thinks. I only care what you think, Charlotta. We have you. We don’t need anything else.”

“I think I’m the luckiest woman in the world. And I am going to love every moment of the next fifty or sixty years.”

  “Princess, that sounds perfect.”

“It sounds like heaven.” Jesse kissed her shoulder.

Charlotta thought it sounded just right, too.

  * * * *

It was beautiful country—cold, but beautiful. The majestic mountains in the distance boasted shimmering white caps, and the air smelled fresh and light and clean. Charlotta had never breathed in anything quite like it.

“I think I understand why they call this Big Sky Country.” She tilted her head and met the gazes of the men on horseback beside her. “Thank you for showing this view to me.”

They’d ridden out from the ranch an hour ago on horseback to a rise in land that overlooked a valley and the mountains beyond. Jesse and Barry had both been relieved that they could make this ride—they said the snow was not nearly as deep as normal for this time of year.

“Whenever we felt stressed, we’d saddle up and come here. It reminded us that no matter how tough our problems seemed, they were small in the big picture.”

“Sometimes, we’d be riding our trucks and, once in a while, the helicopter to get ranch business done, days on end,” Barry said. Then he flashed her that fun-loving grin of his. “One of the things we like best about our place in Lusty is that we don’t have to do that anymore.”

“You’re both old-fashioned cowboys, aren’t you? You prefer the horses.”

Jesse nodded. “Yes, baby. We are.”

Both men seemed to be taking in the view with a sobriety she’d rarely seen on them. Charlotta’s heart broke for them a little, because she understood they were likely looking at their favorite view for the last time.

Or at the very least, for the last time for years to come.

“We shouldn’t have come to Montana,” Barry said.

“No, you’re wrong, darling.” Charlotta let the counselor out. “You both needed to try. You needed to tell your mother what was in your hearts. You needed to reach out. I’m very proud of you both. I don’t know if I have the kind of courage—or the kind of love—I see in you to do the same.”

“Baby, you have more love in you—and courage, too—than just about anyone I know.”

Charlotta grinned at Jesse. “Yup, I’m gonna start calling you ‘slick.’”

  Jesse and Barry both laughed.

Charlotta pulled out her cell phone and took some pictures of the magnificent view. She knew someone who could take this picture and make a print large enough to frame. She thought there was a nice piece of wall in the bedroom it would look really good on.

“I have an idea,” Jesse said. “Let’s head out after dinner, instead of waiting until the morning. We can check into the Marriott by the airport. That way, at least, we can spend the night in the same bed with you between us.”

Norah had decreed that they most certainly would not share a bed under her roof. That decree, given the moment they’d stepped into the house, set the tone for the short visit. Charlotta had prepared her men for possibility that she’d say that very thing—and told them before they’d arrived that she had no problem with that at all. They should respect their mother’s wishes in her own home.

They hadn’t liked it, but they’d agreed with her.

And they’d let Norah know at her first sly insult aimed at Charlotta that they expected her to treat their fiancée with equal respect.

It had been a trying couple of days for everyone.

Addison had been a bit of a surprise. It hadn’t taken Charlotta long to realize the eldest Benedict daughter wasn’t as unwelcoming as her brothers had expected. Charlotta couldn’t claim that they’d bonded or anything like that. But they’d spoken, and had spent a bit of time together when Jesse and Barry had headed out to help their dad for part of the day, yesterday.

The most poignant moment had been when she’d met Charlotta’s gaze. “They’re all happy, aren’t they? Cord and Jackson, and Veronica?”

“I’ve spent some time with all of them—Veronica and Hank and Travis, as well as Cord, Jackson, and Ari. So I can tell you absolutely, yes, they really are very happy.”

“That’s good. I can see changes in Jesse and Barry. They’re happy now, too—well, not with Mother, of course. But inside themselves.” She nodded slowly. “I’m glad for that.”

Charlotta wasn’t certain if she’d actually seen longing on the young woman’s face or not. It was hard to say. But she felt something. When she got home, she’d make a point of trying to keep in contact with her. It would balance the scales, a way of making it up to the cosmos for the way she’d prejudged Veronica.

A cold wind began to blow and Charlotta shivered. Her men noticed immediately, of course. She was wearing more clothes than she’d ever worn in her life at one time before—and was colder than she’d known she could be.

“Come on, baby. Let’s get you back to the house.”

“Okay. I guess it would take me time to get acclimated to this.” Something needed to be said, from her heart. “But, guys? If you ever want to move back here, of course I’ll come with you. My home isn’t in Lusty—or even in Texas. My home is with the two of you.”

“I love you so damn much, Shar.” Jesse leaned over and kissed her—the kind of light, emotional kiss he liked to give her a lot.

Barry, on her other side, did the same. “You’re one of a kind, Shar. And I love you with my whole heart. Our home is with you, too. Let’s see what we can all build together—in Lusty.”

They took their time grooming the horses—whether because of the animals themselves or to put off going into the house, she couldn’t say.

Once inside, they went to their respective bedrooms to shower and change for dinner. Charlotta didn’t need long to pack her bag.

Norah was an excellent cook, and presented a fine table. Charlotta understood those two things were important to the woman. Dinner didn’t seem as tense as the two previous ones, at least not at first. But it felt like a storm was brewing.

“You’ll have to make your own breakfasts in the morning,” Norah informed them. “I’ll be sleeping in. These last two days have been dreadfully stressful for me. I feel a migraine coming on.”

“Actually, we’ve decided to head out tonight, Mother. I’ve already booked a room for us at the Marriott.” Jesse looked at hi
s mother. “And don’t worry, it’s the one by the airport. There’s no danger of any of your friends from the club seeing us there.”

Apparently, that was enough of a provocation. Norah threw down her napkin. “Why can’t you be more like Liz’s boys? They may have their faults, but at least they aren’t contemplating living a sexually deviant lifestyle.”

Silence exploded in the formal dining room, a silence punctuated by the shocked gasps of George and Addison Benedict. Charlotta was appalled that a mother could say such a thing to her sons.

Jesse set his fork down, and folded his napkin. He sighed, and Charlotta knew he’d reached the end of his patience.

Norah might have heard reproach in his voice, but Charlotta heard only heartbreaking longing.

“Mother, why can’t you be more like Grandma Kate? She might not be our real grandmother, but she sure as hell knows how to love.”

The question went unanswered, of course, and pretty much ended the visit, right there and then.

  Chapter 27

There’s no other place on earth like Lusty.

Charlotta had believed she was beginning to get a handle on the relationship dynamics of her new hometown—until tonight.

No question that Lusty Appetites was a successful business. And yet here it was, a Friday evening in the middle of January, and the business part of the restaurant was closed while the doors had been thrown open, welcoming anyone and everyone to eat as much as they wanted. The Town Trust, she’d been told, footed the bill.

“You can see why it was just good sense to expand this place,” Jesse said. “The restaurant is seriously packed.”

Charlotta knew her beloved well enough to know the humorous tone covered a well of emotion. If this party had been thrown a couple of weeks earlier, or maybe even a couple of weeks later, he might not have been quite so moved.

But coming as it did on the heels of their visit to Montana, he and Barry were both overwhelmed. Those that should have offered unconditional love didn’t, while those who didn’t need to did.
