Heaven Sent:The Reunion

“Yo’ ass crazy as fuck! What was the reason for you to show your ass like that, Heaven? Really? Is it that fucking serious for you to show out at the fucking daycare your kids attend? That shit wasn’t cool at all and it was uncalled for! I would be wrong if I beat the fuck outta you.” By then Zylen had the car door opened with his left leg out. “Take yo’ ass in there and get my kids. I’ll see you whenever I get home.” He got out and slammed the car door shut. Zylen couldn’t believe Heaven was acting all ratchet like one of those chicken heads in the streets. She was better than that shit.
“Where are you going, Zylen? You know I hate driving this damn car!” Heaven hopped out and yelled. Zylen didn’t say anything. Didn’t look back or nothing. He just kept walking and Heaven couldn’t blame anyone but herself. Maybe all that wasn’t necessary, she thought as she walked inside the daycare center. She didn’t know what had come over her but she knew one thing for sure. She had to get things back right with her husband.
Chapter 21
Ali was sitting in his car across from a bar and grill on the strip staring at the sight in front of him. They was sitting outside having lunch without a care in the world. He was disgusted and hated he had to be the one that witnessed the disloyalty in front of him. There were snakes in their circle and there weren’t any room for that. They didn’t get rid of the ones they had, only to gain more and had he not had his son with him, Ali would’ve put a bullet in the center of both their foreheads without thinking twice about it. He didn’t know their connection but he was certainly going to find out.
“Fuck you at, nigga?” Ali answered his ringing phone. It was Zylen. He hadn’t spoken with him since he left La-La’s bridal shop two days ago. Ali didn’t know what went down between Zylen and Heaven but from his understanding she hadn’t seen him since that day, either. He wasn’t answering their calls or anything. To say he was relieved when his phone rang and Zylen’s name popped up would’ve been an understatement.
“Aye man, what you got going on? I need you to come scoop me up,” Zylen said. He’d been staying at the Marriot. He was still highly pissed that Heaven actually put her hands on him or acted out the way she did in public over. Shit, to be honest, Zylen didn’t know the reason for her to snap the way she did. He didn’t know if she was still holding the Tamar situation over his head or if it was because he wouldn’t jump up and move back to Atlanta. Either way, he didn’t give a fuck. The shit was uncalled for.
“A’ight, I gotcha. I have some big boy shit to talk to you about. Man, you’ll never believe this shit that I been sitting here looking at for the past ten minutes.” Never once did Ali take his eyes off the familiar faces. Zylen let him know where he could be picked up from and they ended the call.
Right before Ali pulled off he took one final looked at them. He didn’t know what was being said but he knew they were in a heated argument. Debating if he should stay to continue and watch or go pick Zylen up, Ali was torn between the two. Looking over at Taylen, he rubbed his hand down his face. If he stayed it wasn’t like he could do anything with his son being with him, so going to get Zylen would have been the right thing to do at the time.
Pulling up to the hotel Zylen had been staying at, Ali saw him standing in front holding a conversation with some light-skinned beauty. She stood maybe 5’6”, weighing a good 140 pounds, with a short haircut that complimented her face. Ali just shook his head. He thought Zylen was tripping and only prayed he didn’t do anything that would have his ass in divorce court.
“Yo, Tay, get in the back,” Ali told Taylen. He was so into his game he was playing that he hadn’t noticed Zylen standing at the passenger door.
“Uncle Zy!” he hugged Zylen. Yes, Taylen, was still crazy about Zylen. He knew Ali was his dad but still, he looked up to his uncle Zylen as a father figure.
“What’s up, li’l man?” Zylen pulled him in a headlock and playfully rubbed the top of his head. Taylen giggled and wiggled his way out Zylen’s arms. He got inside and immediately started asking questions.
“Yo, what you saw?” Zylen asked, getting straight to the point.
“Man, we have to watch Kendra’s sneaky ass. I have a feeling that bitch is a snake and I have no problem murking her ass. But check this, before we get to that, what was up with you and ol’ girl you was talking to?” Ali asked, never being one to beat around the bush.
“Not a damn thing! Shit, she was waiting for her husband and I was waiting on you,” Zylen looked him dead in the eyes. Ali just nodded his head and focused on the road ahead of him. Zylen might’ve been upset with Heaven, but it didn’t change the fact that he loved his wife unconditionally. Never once had cheating crossed his mind since he’d said ‘I do.’
********
“Really ,nigga? Like why the fuck would La-La hook me up with yo’ trifling ass when you and her done fucked around? What kind of sick shit y’all on? All y’all nasty mothafuckas sharing one another. What the fuck is this, smash and pass? Who the fuck I have to sleep with next? Zylen or Ali? Maybe Ali. I mean, you fucked his wife, so why not?!” Kendra exclaimed. She’d been standing in Fred’s face arguing for nearly fifteen minutes. She’d recently received some disturbing news and the way she felt about it anyone could’ve gotten the business at the moment.
“Yeah, try sleeping with them if you want to. You want have to worry about getting fucked up by me,” Fred stated calmly. He never lost his composure once. Hell, all he wanted to know was where the fuck she received her information from. He knew damn well La-La hadn’t told her shit.
“And who’s gonna fuck me up? La-La? Why would she get mad? She fucked my nigga right?! I’m just returning the favor. A fuck for a fuck.” Kendra had no intention of fucking Ali. She was doing exactly what she intended on doing and that was to fuck with Fred’s head. He tilted his head to the side and stared at her. She returned his deadly glare.
“Please don’t get fucked up, LaKendra.”
Kendra knew she had succeeded in pissing him off because if he wasn’t calling her Ken-Ken then he would call her Kendra. To be honest, that was the first time he’d called her by her real name. A smiled crept across her lips as she rolled her eyes and looked away. At that moment she hated how much she loved him.
“I fucking hate you, Fred. Why the fuck would y’all keep that shit from me? Like, how could y’all sit in my face every damn day, smiling and shit like nothing happened? This bitch sitting all in my face and shit knowing she done fucked my man. What would make her think I even wanted to fuck with someone she slept with?” she asked as she took a seat in one of the dining room chairs.
Kendra wasn’t trying to throw shade or anything like that but what real woman would want to date a man that her friend had been with? Hos did that shit in high school. She was a grown ass woman that didn’t play those types of game.
“Kendra, that was in the past,” was all Fred said back.
“I don’t care, Fred. In the past or not, you still slept with her.” Kendra held her head down as she played with nothing in particular. Suddenly she laughed out loud. It wasn’t a ‘that’s funny’ kind of laugh; it was more like a sarcastic laugh. “Y’all got me fucked up,” she said more to herself.
“I can’t believe you tripping on something that happened when we were damn teenagers. That shit been damn near ten fucking years ago.” Fred was beginning to lose his cool.
“Well believe it, nigga! And I really don’t give a fuck if it was twenty fucking years ago. Y’all still should have told me. Let me be the one that decided if I wanted to still fuck with you. I mean, I wouldn’t expect for you to tell me on the first date, but once we started getting serious then that was the time to fill me in on the bullshit. Hell, you could’ve told me before I moved in this mothafucka’ with you.” She gestured her hand around referring to the house.
“If you was a real man and La-La was a real friend then y’all would’ve told me. I shouldn’t have to hear it from another mothafucker. Like what the fuck, man? What type of
sick shit y’all on? Did you sleep with Heaven, too?” Kendra asked. If Fred’s answer was yes, Kendra was going to die right then and there.
“Man, fuck no! If it makes you feel any better I didn’t sleep with La-La, either,” he finally informed her. That caused Kendra to raise an eyebrow. “Man, are you gonna tell me who told you that shit?” he asked. Fred was trying to avoid telling Kendra that he went down and gave La-La the tongue action. Maybe that’s better than fucking her, though, he thought to himself.
“Nope, I ain’t telling yo’ ass shit! Y’all didn’t think about telling me that y’all fucked so why would I give up my source?!” When Kendra stood to walk away Fred stood also.
“But I didn’t fuck her!” he yelled out. Kendra’s body spun around so quickly, you wouldn’t have known she was pregnant.
“You a black ass lie! You did fuck her!”
“Man, I didn’t fuck her! I ain’t gon’ even lie. I just gave her head.” Saying fuck it, Fred went on and told the truth. The look on Kendra’s face was priceless. To her that was even worse.
SLAP!
“Nasty mothafucker, that’s worse! I’m kissing on you, catching all her damn coochie juice,” Kendra indicated as if she was about to throw-up on the floor. Fred shook his head because she was really overreacting. It wasn’t that damn serious.
“Really, Kendra? Yo’ ass need to stop. That shit was so long again I honestly had forgot it happened. It was one night we all was high and drunk as fuck and the shit just sort of happened.
That’s the first thing a person say when they cheats. It just sort happened or they didn’t mean to. Kendra was so over it. She was exhausted and tired of going back and forth with him. All she wanted to do was crawl in bed and get some much needed rest.
“I’m over it, Fred. It don’t even matter.” She threw her hands in the air and walked off.
Once he heard the bedroom door slam shut Fred fired up the already rolled Blunt. He needed that motherfucker in the worst way. Smoking all he was going to smoke, he put it out and headed to his bedroom, only to find the door locked. Shaking his head, he went into the spare bedroom. Kendra could sleep in the room; he didn’t care. Fred was just thankful that she wasn’t trying to leave him.
Chapter 22
Zylen stooped in the foyer of his and Heaven’s home, in a trance. All that was running through his mind was the words he’d overheard his wife speak to whoever she had been on the phone with when he walked in. She was so intrigued in her conversation that she didn’t even hear him enter.
“Whatever happened that night is in the past. I love my husband and there’s nothing you or anyone else can say to change that. Can you do us both a favor and stop calling my phone, please!?” Heaven’s words were stuck in his head.
There was always suspicion in the back of his head that his wife had cheated on him. The funny thing about it was, there was one mothafucker that stood out; her bitch ass boss Derrick. There was always the uncomfortable look that would display on Heaven’s face when the three of them would be in the same place together. But because she would swear up and down that there was nothing going on with them, Zylen had no other choice but to leave it alone. He still didn’t have full proof, but best to believe he would be paying Derrick a visit.
“Daddy!” Hydeia ran to him screaming, startling him. Zylen was so deep into his own thoughts that he didn’t noticed his kids were standing there. Picking Hydeia up then Li’l Zy, he headed in the living room where Heaven sat. He would be lying if he said he didn’t miss them the two days he was away.
“Baby, I didn’t know you were here.” There was that damn uncomfortable look again. Heaven didn’t know how long he’d been there so she didn’t know if he’d heard her conversation or not. Paying attention to Zylen’s body language, she watched as he sat next to her on the couch with both their kids in his arms. He then leaned over and kissed her before smiling. That brought a smile to her lips and she relieved the breath she had been holding.
“Yeah, I just walked in,” Zylen lied before giving his kids all his attention. He was trying to give his wife the benefit of the doubt until further notice. It would be hard but Zylen was willing to put on a smile and act as if he had the perfect wife.
“Can I have some attention too?” Heaven smiled. Zylen looked at her with a raised brow.
“Oh so yo’ ass done calmed down?” he asked seriously. She chuckled and looked away embarrassedly. She didn’t know what caused her to snap on Zylen the way she did but she was truly hoping he wouldn’t hold it against her.
“So where have you been staying?” she asked, changing the subject.
“You don’t think you owe me an apology?” Zylen then asked. Heaven rolled her eyes upwards as she sighed deeply.
“Yeah, and you know I’m sorry baby.” Heaven dived over to his then empty lap. Laying across him, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed all over his face before his lips. “I love you and I really am sorry.”
“Yeah, I know you are.” He patted her on the butt. “Get up,” he said. Standing to his feet, Zylen headed for the stairs to shower and get some rest.
The next morning Zylen awakened bright and early. He’d tossed and turned all night as he recited the words he would say once he approached Derrick. He was planning on having a man to man talk but the first time Derrick decided to jump stupid would be his ass. Zylen succeeded in getting out of bed without waking Heaven. One thing he didn’t need was for her to wake up questioning him.
Walking into the building, Zylen headed straight to the elevator. Luckily, the doors were just opening. Stepping in, he heard a voice call out for him to hold the doors. A smiled formed across his face because it was none other than Derrick. Just the mothafucka’ I need to see, Zylen said to himself.
“Mr. Reid, what are you doing here? You do know your wife no longer works with us, right?” Derrick asked with a light chuckle. Zylen shook his head as he pressed the emergency stop button for the elevator to stop.
“Look, I’ma get straight to the point. What’s the deal with you and my wife?” Zylen looked him dead in the eyes and asked. He watched Derrick’s facial expression but to his surprise it was blank.
“Nothing,” he simply said nonchalantly. Derrick kept his eyes on Zylen as his watched his every move. Zylen ran his hand down his face because his gut was still telling him that something went down with Heaven and the nigga.
“I’m gonna ask you this only once…have you fucked my wife?” Zylen held his breath as he waited for his question to be answered. Though he’d asked, he wasn’t sure if he could handle what would come out of Derrick’s mouth.
“I think you should ask your wife that question. See, Mr. Reid, she’s the one that has to explain shit to you, not me!” Derrick had the nerve to say with a cocky ass smirk. Is he trying to get smart? He must not know who I am!
Before Zylen knew it he had hauled back and punched Derrick right in the mouth. Out of reflex Derrick motioned as if he was going to make a jump but stopped dead in his tracks. The look upon Zylen’s face let him know that wasn’t the right move to make. The two men had a stare down. Had they been on the streets, Zylen would’ve sent a bullet right in his fucking mouth, since he liked to run that mothafucka’ so much. Zylen never took his eyes off Derrick as he pressed the button for the doors to open.
“Stay the fuck away from my wife,” he said just as the doors opened. Just as Zylen stepped out he heard Derrick’s words loud and clear.
“You should be telling her that!” Derrick taunted.
Zylen turned around with murderous eyes just as the doors were closing; but the smirk that rested on Derrick’s face was very visible. Zylen hurriedly walked away before he ended up doing the unthinkable. He would catch Derrick another time and place and the shit wasn’t going to be pretty.
********
“Where have you been?” Zylen flicked on the switch to the lamp that rested on the end table just as Heaven was walking passed the living room. He’d been sitting
in the same spot for nearly four hours waiting on her.
“Zylen, you scared me, baby. Why are you sitting here in the dark?” Heaven walked over to where he sat on the couch. Sitting her purse down, she leaned down to kiss him. What Zylen did next caught her totally by surprise. Not knowing exactly what was going on, she wanted to slap the taste out his mouth. He’d mushed her head back with so much force to prevent her from kissing him, Heaven could have sworn she heard her neck snap. Smacking her lips, she was highly pissed.
“Why the fuck would you do that shit, Zy?” she asked.
“Where the fuck have you been, Heaven?” he asked once again. Zylen’s voice held so much damn bass that it slightly scared Heaven. She didn’t know what was gong on.
“Zylen, what the fuck is wrong with you?” Heaven didn’t like his tone or the attitude he was giving her. She couldn’t think of anything she’d done wrong for him to be so blunt towards her. As a matter of fact they went to sleep on a good note the previous night. He’d left at the break of dawn and that was the first she’d seen or spoken to him all that day, so why he was acting as if he would snap on her at any given minute was beyond her.
“Since you can’t answer that fucking question, maybe you can answer this…when did you fuck that fuck ass nigga?” Zylen asked calmly as he slid to the edge of the couch, waiting for her to reply. Though he was doing a good job of holding his composure, his eyes had darkened and his face held a look of hurt, disgust, betrayal, and anger all mixed in one. Yes, Zylen had asked her many time had she slept with Derrick but that one particular night it was as if he knew for certain she did.
