“Hello.”
“Elise. It’s Michael. ”
“Hello Michael.”
“I hope you have had time to think about what we talked about.”
“I have. Listen, Michael. I’m not sure I’m ready to pursue any kind of relationship with you right now. We’re both in the same business, and I think mixing business with pleasure would be too difficult for me, especially since . . . well, since you are so much more . . .”
“I don’t believe it would be in your best interests to avoid me, Elise.”
“What?”
Was he threatening me? Would I never live down what he has done for me . . . or to me?
“I don’t mean that as a threat in any way. I’m saying this because we are in the same industry and will be working together quite often. So to completely avoid me like I know you want to . . . well it probably won’t happen and it will make for a very uncomfortable situation each time you are near me.”
“Okay that I will agree with.”
“I think we need to establish some sort of a relationship as soon as possible.”
“What did you have in mind?”
“Donovan Jones is playing tomorrow night. A group of us are going and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to possibly start over on a familiar ground.”
I must have hesitated too long.
“I’ll pick you up at seven for dinner.”
“Make it nine. I have dinner plans.”
I wasn’t completely convinced about Michael and his intentions, but I was willing to give him a chance, especially where Donovan was concerned.
Chapter 3
Michael was right on time and dressed to kill. Earlier in the night, as I got ready, I felt very confident and sexy in my dress I chose, but after Michael picked me up, I felt demure very quickly. He helped me into the limousine and we drove off to the concert.
“You look beautiful.”
I smiled at his compliment, but didn’t feel it at all. I felt very awkward and insecure. He must have known, because he popped open a side panel and produced a bottle with two small glasses. I watched him pour a little in both goblets and hand me one. I just held it and watched him bring the glass to his lips. He stopped and looked at me.
“Drink it. It will calm your nerves.”
I took a sip, feeling the heat of the whiskey as it trickled down my throat. I took another sip and felt it starting to soothe me. Another sip gave me a sort of numbing feeling deep inside me. I looked at him. He was watching me, smiling at me.
“Thank you,” was all I could say.
He nodded and downed the rest of his whiskey. The car pulled up to this little theatre and the driver let us out. I marveled at the beauty of the building. It wasn’t what I had expected at all. The building was a landmark originally built in the eighteen hundreds and restored about forty years ago.
I looked at Michael, and he was still watching me. I smiled at him, feeling the effects of the whiskey and realized I had been way too uptight about everything. This was going to be a great night. I could feel it.
We walked in the theatre and met up with some others—a few faces, I recognized from working with Michael, and some I had yet to meet. I looked around for Donovan, but couldn’t see him. I felt Michael’s hand on my lower back as he led me to a table down toward the front of the stage. Within minutes, a waitress approached, and he ordered drinks for everyone.
A few of us made small talk until the band started playing. As soon as the music started, I paid attention. Donovan ran on stage and grabbed the microphone, looking around the crowd. He sounded so good, and the way he danced mesmerized me. A few songs later, I finished my drink and turned to see if Michael had finished his yet. He wasn’t in his seat. I glanced around and didn’t notice him, so I motioned for a waitress myself.
I was having so much fun, and when the music stopped, I jumped up to find Donovan. I wanted to let him know I was there, hoping he would be happy to see me. I walked to the stage and looked around. He seemed to vanish, so I made my way back to the front.
Michael was over by the wall, talking to someone. His back was to me so I couldn’t see who was with him. I made my way over and as I rounded the table just behind him I saw a woman leaning against the wall. She was smiling and flirting with him. He had his hand on the wall close to her, leaning into her. It was a very intimate setting, even though the theatre was packed. I stood there and felt my stomach turn to lead. He leaned in closer and whispered in her ear. She looked up into his eyes, slid her arms around him, and kissed him deeply.
I knew I had no right to be angry, but at that point I was. For someone who wanted to re-create a relationship with me, he sure had a funny way of showing it.
I sat back down and ordered another drink. I tried to act like nothing bothered me when he rejoined me at the table but I also ignored him as much as I could. I talked with the others and gave him one word answers the rest of the night. Toward the end of the last set, I excused myself feeling the effects of the alcohol I’d drunk throughout the night. I almost made it to the ladies room and I felt someone behind me. I stopped and turned around to see Michael grabbing me and pushing me into the bathroom. No one else was in there, so he locked the door and shoved me against the wall.
“Michael! What the hell are you doing?”
“Don’t act like I don’t know what you are doing.”
“What I am doing? What about you? You invite me to this thing and I see you making it with some other chick? Boy, you really are something else.”
He grabbed me and pushed me up the wall until my toes were the only thing touching the floor. He pressed his body into mine and forced a kiss on me. I couldn’t help but melt, but as soon as he let me go, I slapped him in the face. He kissed me again and pressed into me harder.
“Do you have no clue how I feel about you?”
“I could give a shit less how you feel, Michael. I told you before I didn’t want anything from you, and if this is how you treat me, then I guess I was right in my decision.”
He kissed me again, and I let him. My body responded almost involuntarily to him when he was so aggressive with me. He let me go. I looked at him, hesitated, then slapped him again.
“Stay away from me.” I walked out of the bathroom and left him there.
I walked toward the table with tears in my eyes to get my purse and jacket. I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. Just when I was approaching the table I saw Donovan. I took a breath and wiped my eyes. I wasn’t going to let Michael get me down, not tonight.
I walked toward the stage, and as if he could sense me, Donovan turned around and smiled as soon as he saw me. He walked to me, picked me up, and twirled me around as he hugged me.
“Oh, now, you’re a sight for sore eyes.”
“I could say the same thing.”
“Come on. I want to introduce you to the band.”
I walked back stage with him and was greeted by a group of people who seemed very interested in who I was.
“Hey, you’re the girl from the magazine. Donovan, you devil, usually those pictures are Photoshopped to death, but she is just gorgeous.” The drummer of the band was circling me like his prey. I felt him grab my ass, and I turned quickly. “Very nice.” He winked and tackled Donovan playfully.
“Dude, we’re just friends . . . with a few little benefits.” He grinned a very sexy grin at me and winked.
“Donovan, is this the little vixen you’ve been talking about?”
I turned and saw one of the back-up singers standing there grinning at me. She was adorable, with long, dark hair, and a gothic look that would turn anyone on.
“The very one. Elise this is Summer. Summer . . . Elise.” He smiled at me and kissed my lips before jetting over toward the equipment. “Hey! How about some pics with the band?” He grabbed the band camera, nodding toward one of the stage crew and throwing the camera at him. The guy caught it without missing a beat.
I would have
contemplated saying no, but the tilt of his head and the way he jutted his lip out in a pout sold me.
“How could I say no to you?” I ran over to him and jumped into his arms, swinging myself around him and looking back at the man with the camera. He started clicking away, and the other band members joined us. The pictures were very playful and candid. A few others who were gathering around wanted some pictures as well so I decided to play the part of the famous model who showered her fans with signatures and pictures. The longer I did this, the more I realized I didn’t have to play that part. I was actually being bombarded by fans who knew who I was from my magazine spread with Donovan. I was loving the attention.
“Excuse me. Miss Savannah?”
I stopped and my eyes widened. No one knew me personally as Miss Savannah. My pictures on that site were very provocative and racy. I looked at Donovan, and I could tell he had no idea what the guy was talking about.
Chapter 4
“Miss Savannah?” Donovan furrowed his eyes playfully. “Is there something you’re not telling me, Elise?”
I shushed him and turned toward a man who seemed completely in awe of me.
“Yes?”
“I love you . . . um . . . your website. I can’t believe I’m talking to you. I have almost every picture you ever put online.”
“Well thank you.” I looked at Donovan, and he stepped a little closer to be sure I’d be safe. The man handed Donovan his phone and stared into my face.
“Would you mind if I took a picture with you?”
I honestly thought the man was going to fall over. I quickly stood next to the man and Donovan snapped a couple of pictures. He handed his phone back to the man and pulled me over to him.
“Thank you. Oh my . . . thank you.” He stared at me the whole time he walked away, almost tripping over himself, and then falling over some lighting equipment, breaking one of the lenses.
“Dude! What the fuck!” The drummer pushed the guy and escorted him out the back door.
I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Wow, did you see that?”
“You are becoming quite the enigma, Elise Shay . . . or should I say, Miss Savannah.” He raised his eyebrow, grabbed his phone, and started taking picture after picture of me.
“Oh . . . Miss Savannah . . . let me touch you . . . Oh, Miss Savannah . . . please show me your boobies . . .”
“Enough!” I threw a towel at him and smiled. “It’s not my fault I’m so irresistible.”
He grabbed me and pulled me to him, wrapping his arms around me.
“No . . . no it’s not your fault.” He kissed my nose and smiled. A little out of character for a big bad rocker dude, but not so out of the ordinary for the Donovan that I was getting to know.
People were starting to clear out and I knew it was getting late. I assumed Michael was long gone by now, and I honestly didn’t care. I didn’t want the night to end.
“Compliments of the bar owner for a job well done tonight.” One of the band crew went back stage with a cooler full of assorted alcohol.
“Wow. Look at all of this.”
“We can’t end the party now, can we?” Donovan looked at me, and we both reached in and grabbed a half bottle of wine. We opened our bottles, waited for a few others to join us, and toasted to an amazing night, good friends, and a prosperous future.
“Picture!” The drummer snapped the camera, and both Donovan and I looked at the camera at the same time with a sleepy sexy look in our eyes. “Oh yeah. Keep it going. It’s like a replica of the photos from the magazine. Mmmmm, baby, give me the look.” We started posing like we did for the magazine, and things started heating up.
Donovan picked me up like he did during the last shoot we did together and looked at me with that same sexy stare. He let me slide down his body, and as I reached the floor, Summer the back-up singer I met earlier, was there to help me down. She slid her arms around me and pulled me into her.
She put her mouth to my ear and licked the side of my face with just the tip of her tongue.
“You’re right, Donovan. She is sweet.” She turned my face toward her and pulled me toward her mouth. Her tongue slid out and made contact with my lips. She slowly kissed me, and I felt the warmth of her breath on mine. The taste of the whiskey on her tongue mixed with the sweet taste of wine on mine made me hungry for more. The whole thing sort of threw me off, and before I knew it, I was in between her and Donovan. She hugged me as he leaned in for a taste of her whiskey. They took my breath away as hands roamed my body and mouths tasted parts of me.
I looked around and saw that most of the crowd had left, but the few still around were crew members checking out the show and one or two others I didn’t recognize. A thought or two entered my mind that we should stop before we did something publicly we would regret, but the alcohol mixed with the sexual tension between us helped wash that all away.
I felt a hand slide up underneath my shirt and loosen my bra; another hand caressed my breast. I closed my eyes and leaned my head back. Her mouth kissed my neck, his mouth bit my side, her hand caressed my breasts, his hands slid inside my pants. I was in another world, and I never wanted it to end. The world around me was fading like water paints in the rain.
Somehow we made it to a dressing room where there was privacy for just the three of us. She raised my arms up over my head and kissed me deeply again. She stepped back and he pulled my shirt up over my head. He slid down onto his knees and unbuttoned my pants. I stared into her eyes as she watched him strip the material from my body. As he did, she removed hers as well. She knelt down and covered one of my nipples with her mouth. It felt so warm and sweet as she bit down with enough force to add just a bit of pain to my pleasure.
From behind, I felt Donovan’s naked body pressed up against mine, his fingers exploring the depths of my womanhood, and moaning as he did. Could a woman feel any more sexual that this? I didn’t think it was possible. I was in complete ecstasy and never wanted to come down from such a high.
He pushed me forward as Summer lay down on the carpet. I let my instincts take over and kissed her neck. I cascaded my tongue down her body to the nubs of her breasts. They were hard as glass as I licked one of them. I played with it and teased it with my teeth. She reared her head back and buried her hands in my hair. Just as I started moving down her stomach, I felt Donovan enter me. I hesitated as I felt him inch inside me agonizingly slowly. He had a firm grip on my hips and took control. I tried pushing back to feel him faster but he denied me. His teasing was building the fire inside me faster than any sex I had ever had.
I sat up and let him fuck me. His slow and sensual movements reminded me of a lava lamp hot and mellow, building more heat. Summer had turned around and was adding to my pleasure. I had my arms down to the side of Donovan’s body as I felt him move in and out of me from behind, my hands gripping his ass feeling his muscles tense with every thrust. I looked down and watched Summer feast on me. Never have I ever been in such a situation. I felt wicked and dirty, and I loved it. The arousal from deep within me had slowly festered and taken over my body, warming every fiber of my being, controlling my thought process, my body, my soul and my need for anything else.
I could feel it gain control and dominate my entire existence. I felt it grow to an aggressive and demanding entity of its own, seizing me and then crashing wave after wave over me like some sort of demonic possession.
As soon as Donovan let me go, I collapsed to the floor, breathing so hard I thought my lungs would give up. They both lay next to me and wrapped their arms around me until I floated back down to reality.
Chapter 5
I could hear the light clinking of glasses and silverware. Soft whispers spoke words I couldn’t comprehend. The world around me was slowly seeping in to my deep sleep as I broke open my eyes, squinting at the bright light around me. I didn’t see anyone but I could hear them talking very quietly. Before moving much I looked around. I was in a room unfamiliar to me. It was clea
n and smelled like fruit and coffee.
I covered my head with my arms and rolled over just enough to look in the opposite direction.
The sheets slid across my body and I lifted them up looking at my body. I was naked. Donovan was sitting at a small table eating fruit and pancakes with the drummer of the band. I looked further into the room and saw a couple of other members flipping through a television with no sound and playing on their cell phones.
I groaned. Donovan looked at me and smiled.
“Good morning, gorgeous.”
He slid out of his chair and crept onto the bed. His hand moved the hair in my face, and his kiss on my cheek was sweet.
“Want some breakfast?”
I just groaned again.
“My head hurts.”
“It’s the wine. You’re not used to drinking. It just got to you a little more than you are used to. Here.” He got up and reached across the table. He plopped back on the bed and handed me a bottle of water. “Drink this . . . with . . .” He reached into his pocket and opened his hand. “. . . These.”
I sat up and looked in his hand. Two small orange pills awaited my grasp. I looked at him and furrowed my eyebrows.
“Pain meds. Trust me.”
I opened my mouth and he dropped them in. I sat up and took the bottle of water from him after he opened it. I washed down my breakfast and squinted at the night stand.
“What the hell did we do last night?”
“You mean, you don’t remember?”
“I . . . remember the club, the dressing room with you and . . .” I put my head down and smiled as I recalled what happened. “But I’m not remembering after that.”
“Rest assured, you were just fine after that. I wrapped you up and carried you to the car, brought you here and watched over you as you slept. I promise, no one touched you.”
