  Chapter 1

Decisions. All day long. Every day. Decisions that affect lives. Sonja Steele had created this company and she ran it quite well. She had done it for the last 10 years. At age 35, she had done quite well for herself and was set for life. She could sell her company and walk away and live the rest of her life in a very lavish manner. She didn’t want to do that, however. She loved the adrenalin rush that came with making all the decisions and having so many people depend on her.

But sometimes she wanted other people to make the decisions. Being a single, never-married woman meant she had to make all the personal decisions as well. Even when she had a relationship with a man she found herself making most of the decisions, even in bed. And she realized she was growing a little tired of it.

Sonja heard a knock at her office door. Looking up, she saw her assistant Tiffany Walters standing there. Over the years, Tiffany had become more than an assistant to Sonja. She was more like a best friend – or as close to a best friend as Sonja would let herself have.

“Come in,” Sonja said, “Close the door behind you and have a seat.”

Sonja couldn’t help but admire how Tiffany looked. She was tall, about an inch from being six feet tall, and she kept herself in great shape. When she got divorced three years ago, she dedicated herself to working out and she looked good. Sonja often thought that if she had been a lesbian she would have been very attracted to Tiffany. Hell, she might be anyway as she had fantasized about Tiffany a few times when she masturbated. She even did it one time in her office, leaning back in her big leather chair. She told Tiffany that she had an important phone call and locked the door. She asked Tiffany not to let anyone disturb her. The perks of being the boss…she could get off and everyone thought she was on an important phone call.

“Boss, I’ve just got a couple of contracts for you to sign. They’re for the new printers we need.”

Tiffany’s voice made Sonja refocus and get her mind back on the present. “Give then to me, I’ll sign them right now.”

Handing the signed contracts to Tiffany, Sonja asked, “Do you have a few minutes? I need to talk to you.”

  “Sure, what’s up?”

“Would you go make sure the office door is locked?”

Tiffany got up and walked to the door, making sure it was locked. “Locked up tight,” she said as she walked back and sat down in front of Sonja’s desk.

Sonja got up and walked from behind the desk. She sat down next to Tiffany, facing her. Their knees almost touched.

  “What’s up, boss?” asked Tiffany.

“First of all, you can cut that ‘boss’ crap out. Right now I’m just Sonja and I need your advice.”

“What on earth can I give you advice about?”

  “I’m tired.”

“Tired? Of what? Are you sick?”

“Oh, no. Nothing like that. What I’m tired of is making decisions all day at work, then going home and having to make more decisions there. I just want someone else to make a few decisions from time to time.”

“What I think you’re saying is that you want a man.”

“Probably. I mean, I don’t’ know what I want. You know I tried a few of the online dating services but had no luck. In fact, it was a nightmare, if you remember.”

“Oh, I remember. No one measured up to your standards. Although I wondered if you were fair to those men. There were a few who I think would have been good for you but you let them go early.”

“Yeah. I probably did. Maybe I was too impatient.”

“I think so. But that’s all water under the bridge. The question is what are you going to do about it now? Do you have any ideas?

“Tiffany, you have thrived since your divorce. Lost weight, got in shape, and have dated a number of men who seemed very good for you.”

“Well, I’ve worked at it. And I let the men have enough time with me so that I could see how they got along with my friends and whether or not they would treat me right and keep up with my hectic life.”

“I guess I didn’t have that much time.”

“Probably not. You are a lot busier than me. So, what exactly are you trying to ask me?”

“You ever answer an online ad for someone looking for a sexual experience?”

“Honestly, I haven’t. Are you looking for sex? Why not just get a male escort or go out of town and get picked up by some strange guy? You sure couldn’t try that here. It would be too much of a risk for you if anyone ever found out you were with an escort.”

“Don’t I know it? Yes, I’m looking for sex but I think I want more than sex. Something deeper.”

“So you want to get into a relationship? Nothing wrong with that.”

“Uh, no. Not exactly. I’m not sure what I really want. Maybe just a friends with benefits thing, you know?”

“But how can I help you?”

“I was thinking we could go through some of these Internet ads later on. I was hoping you might help me go through them and find a
couple that might be interesting.”

“I’ll be happy to help you but our tastes in men are different. You’d probably go thumbs down on any man I might choose.”

“That’s exactly why I asked you. You know me and you know my tastes, my personality. I just think you might pick somebody I would ordinarily turn down who might be a good match for me.”

“Sure, I’ll help. Maybe I can find myself a man, too. When do you want to do this?’

  “How about tonight after work?”

“Tonight? Sure, I can do that.”

“Let’s meet up at my house around seven o’clock. I’ll get Maria to cook us a nice dinner and we can take our time.”

“You’re so lucky to have a lady like Maria to help you keep house and cook for you.”

“I realize how fortunate I am. Having Maria around helps me concentrate on the important things in my job and avoid wasting time on trivial matters.”

“Perhaps you need to try a few trivial things. It might help you relax.”

“You may be right. Let’s get back to work and I’ll see you at my house at seven.”

Tiffany stood and walked to the door. She put her hand on the knob and looked back at Sonja, who was already working. Tiffany quietly opened the door and let herself out. She barely heard the door shut when she closed it. She didn’t want to bother her boss.

  Chapter 2

Tiffany pulled into Sonja’s drive, five minutes early. She was happy she had developed the habit of being early and she knew Sonja appreciated it, especially at the office. One thing Sonja despised was wasting time. Tiffany hoped this exercise in finding a man for Sonja wouldn’t be a waste of time. if it was, Tiffany worried that Sonja might give up on the idea altogether.

As Tiffany walked up to Sonja’s front door, it suddenly opened and Sonja was standing there. She said, “Come on in, let’s get started!”

“There’s never any wasted time with you, is there?” asked Tiffany, only half-joking.

Both women settled in behind Sonja’s computer. Sonja already had a website pulled up. It was one Tiffany had never heard of but then again, she didn’t have any trouble finding men. She sensed that maybe Sonja was very confident in her work, but not so confident in her personal life.

“Let’s look through this one,” said Sonja.

“You seem exited to get started.”

“Yes, I am. I don’t know what to expect but I decided to have fun with it.”

“Good attitude to have. Hey, look at this guy. He’s kind of nice-looking.”

The man was decent-looking thought Sonja. Brown hair, 40 years old.

  “Oh, God!” exclaimed Tiffany.

“What is it?” asked Sonja, her voice filled with fear like she thought something terrible had just happened to Tiffany.

“This guy is a freak! He wants a woman to undress him, powder his behind, and put diapers on him!”

“Are you serious?” asked Sonja as she started to read the description the man had written about himself.

“Oh, no,” Sonja added. “Besides being weird as fuck, I couldn’t be with this man. I’d have to make more decisions than ever. I’d even have to decide which diapers to buy. And could you imagine someone who knows me catching me in the store, buying damn diapers?”

“They would think you had a kid. It would totally mind-fuck them!”

“It would be funny but I’m not going there. Let’s move on to the next guy.”

Tiffany pulled up the next man’s web page. “This one doesn’t have a photo. But he does like to eat pussy, so that’s a plus.”

“No, not going to pick anyone who won’t put a picture up. That’s just lazy and it makes you think the guy is trying to hide something. The pussy-eating is a nice thing, though. But I want to know what the man looks like who’s eating my pussy.”

  “Right,” laughed Tiffany.

“Let’s move on. Maybe we’ll get lucky.”

“Here’s another one. Sonja, he looks good. Oh, well now, he’s into swinging and loves orgies. Want to go with him?”

“Well, orgies sound like they might be fun but frankly, I’m just looking for one man right now.

“Knowing you, you’d be telling everyone at the orgy what to do.”

“You’re probably right. You ever been to one?”

  “An orgy?”

  “Yeah.”

“I suppose you could call it an orgy. Remember my old boyfriend Alan?”

  “Yes.”

“Well, one time we were out and ran into another couple he knew. So we all got to drinking and one thing led to another and we were in this hot foursome and another couple Alan knew just happened to drop over and they joined us. He probably had the entire thing set up.”

“So three women and three men?”

  “Yes.”

“Did you do the three men?”

“I sure did. And so did the other two women.”

“Did you do anything with the women?”

“Actually, no. We talked about it but I think we were all a little timid about it and we finally left it that if we ever did that again, we would have sex with the women, too.”

“That sounds kind of wild. Hey, now this looks interesting.”

“Let’s see. Well, the guy looks good. Age 45. Is that too old for you?”

“No. And I like the dark beard. Nice, steel-blue eyes. I even like his name. Van Todd. And look at what his description says.”

“Sonja, it says, ‘I’ll tell you what to do.’”

“Very brief and to the point. I like it.”

“But that’s all it says. That’s kind of…well, kind of odd.”

“But it’s what I want. And his eyes captivate me.”

“I don’t know. It’s your call, so go for it if that’s what you want.”

“Yes, I believe this is what I want. Let’s work on my response.”

  Chapter 3

A few days later, at the office, Sonja called Tiffany to her office.

“What is it?” asked Tiffany, standing at the door of Sonja’s office.

“Excitedly, Sonja said, “Close the door and lock it. I’ve got news.”

As she closed and locked the door, Tiffany looked at Sonja. “Okay, what do you have?”

  “He responded.”

“What? Oh, you mean the guy from the website? What was his name? Van something?”

“Van Todd. And he’s interested in me. He asked me for a picture and I sent him one.”

“You did? Be careful about doing that. You never know if the guy is a nut or pervert, or worse.”

“I’m meeting him in an hour.”

  “What? Are you serious?”

“Oh, yes. It’s just at the coffee shop down the street. The one on the corner.”

“Want me to come with you?”

  “Do you mind?”

“No. He doesn’t know me so I’ll sit in the corner away from you guys, just to make sure he doesn’t try anything weird.”

“Okay, thanks. Let’s get ready. Meet me here in 30 minutes and we’ll head out.”

Sonja and Tiffany walked the short block to the coffee shop on the corner. Tiffany suggested that she go in first and get a seat, then when Sonja came in, if Van Todd was in there, he wouldn’t know the two women were together. Sonja liked the idea and Tiffany made her way into the shop.

Sonja spent the next five minutes standing in front of the coffee shop. She was looking in the window of the boutique next door when a man walked up behind her, touched her on the arm and said, “Sonja? I’m Van Todd. Hello!”

Startled, Sonja turned and sure enough, the man standing there looked exactly like the picture in the ad on her computer.

“Hi. Yes, I’m Sonja. How did you guess?”

“I saw your reflection in the window of the boutique and for such a pretty lady as you to be standing out here alone, I thought it might be you. Let’s go inside and get some coffee and get to know each other a little better.”

“Okay,” replied Sonja, as Van opened the door for her.

“That hardly ever happens to me,” thought Sonja as she felt Van’s hand at the small of her back, guiding her inside the coffee shop. She quickly searched for Tiffany and found her in the far corner, facing the door. Tiffany must have liked what she saw, judging from the grin she could barely control.

Sonja and Van sat down near Tiffany because the place was almost full. “This is good,” thought Sonja, “In case he gets too weird or puts his hands on me.”

Sonja and Van talked about the usual get-to-know-you stuff. Tiffany overheard most of it. Pretty bland and tame, she thought. She began to wonder what Van’s message of “I’ll tell you what to do” really meant.

Van’s tone changed as he suddenly got serious. “Why are you searching for a man?”

Taken aback by such a direct question, Sonja noticed Tiffany’s eyebrows go up in surprise or shock. Sonja wasn’t sure which emotion Tiffany was experiencing and she wasn’t sure how she felt about such a direct question, either.

“Probably for the same reason you are looking for a woman,” she replied.

“Oh, I doubt that,” said Van, very matter-of-factly.

“Well, you tell me why you’re looking for a woman and I’ll tell you why I’m looking for a man.”

“No. I asked your first. So you tell me.”

Sonja thought, “Well that is true and damn if he isn’t already telling me what to do. I’ll go along with it and see where it goes.”

  “Okay, Van, I’ll tell you.”

Tiffany nearly choked on her coffee.

“I’ve been alone for longer than I care to admit. I own my own company and I tell everyone there what to do, when to do it, and how often to do it. Then I come home and have to make every damn decision for myself. Sometimes, I think I’d like someone else to make a few decisions.”

“I see,” mused Van. “Those are pretty good reasons. I’m looking for a woman because I have a need to tell her what to do. I’ve had several girlfriends but they were superficial relationships at best. I’d like to develop a deeper relationship on terms that both the woman and I can understand and follow.”
