“Thank you, I may have to take you up on that.”

Dad and I swayed back and forth to the beat of the music until the song was over and he delivered me back to my awaiting husband.

“Is it everything you hoped it would be?” Mason whispered into my ear.

“It’s better and I have a surprise for you.” I pressed a kiss to his lips.

He stood back and watched as I made my way to the DJ. I stood behind the microphone and got everyone’s attention.

“I haven’t done this in awhile, but I wanted to do something special tonight. I wanted to show you how much I love you, and what better way, than with a song.” I looked at Mason.

Everyone cheered with their eyes fixed on me.

  Chapter Nineteen

  Mason

I couldn’t believe how beautiful my wife looked standing up there. She said she had a surprise for me but when the music started up to “It’s Your Love” by Tim McGraw, I had to stare at her in awe. I hadn’t seen her sing like that since my drunken night at the bar when I felt like I couldn’t ever have her again.

She stood behind the microphone in her wedding dress with only a single light pointing at her. She was beautiful and took my breath away. I knew one thing right then, and that was that I couldn’t let her give up on her dream.

If singing was the life she wanted, I would follow her around the world to stand in the darkness every night watching her. Nothing was going to hold me back anymore. Lennox was all I’d ever wanted and finally, she officially became mine.

I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. The way she sang to me could move mountains for me. I would do anything to keep this woman happy. When she wrapped up the song, I slowly walked toward her while she made her way to me. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her like I wouldn’t get another chance to kiss her again.

The DJ started back up. Lennox and I were still standing in the middle of the floor kissing when “You and Me” by Lifehouse came on. We slowly moved with one another and danced to a song that described exactly how I felt. Our kiss broke off and I looked down to her beautiful green eyes.

  “I love you, Mrs. Reynolds.”

“I love you, Mr. Reynolds,” she said with a breathtaking smile.

We stayed close and danced the entirety of the song. When we broke apart, everyone was watching, they clapped as we made our way off the dance floor.

Sometime later, I was feeling way too good for it to only be eight o’clock. I didn’t remember drinking a lot, it might have been because I hadn’t eaten since my little monster had taken every bite. Lennox’s dad and Kathryn took Emma inside and put her to bed to let us have a little adult time, and adult time was kicking my ass. Dane finally agreed to give his speech, he stood behind the microphone and tapped his glass, drawing everyone’s attention.

“Alright, so I know this is a wedding and everything is supposed to be heartfelt, but it’s me so don’t expect too much.” Everyone laughed. “First off, I want to say congratulations to my brother and his beautiful wife, Lennox. If anyone in this world deserves happiness, it’s you two. I remember when Mason showed up in my office one night, freaking the fuck out because he thought he was falling in love with this girl. I gave him some bad advice because, let’s face it, I was shit-faced drunk. I think I told him she was going to destroy him and to save himself the pain and stay away from her, but I was hammered, who knows what I actually said. Point is, I’m glad he didn’t listen to me. Not only did Lennox save my brother from a long life of heartache but she gave him the best gift anyone could offer. He got his amazing little girl Emma. “

“And not only did Mason get Lennox back, but she brought my heart back with her. I’m not quite as good as my brother is in the love department, I fuck up everything and I thought I had lost the love of my life. But Lennox brought her back to me. I cannot thank you enough, Lennox. You saved my brother and myself. I hope you two have a lifetime of happiness. I love you both,” Everyone cheered at his speech and his grin widened. “Let’s get this party started.” Dane smacked me on the back.

Everyone danced, drank, and got loud. Alissa was complaining about not bringing any Cheetos, Sarah was off puking in the bushes behind the house, and Lennox was wrapped in my arms on the dance floor.

I pulled away, “I’ll be right back.” I pressed a quick kiss to her lips. I stood behind the microphone and told the DJ what I wanted to sing to my wife. The music started up and I began to sing “Hanging by a Moment” by Lifehouse.

Lennox smiled and laughed like she couldn’t believe I went to sing without being pressed to do it. I gave the song everything I had and kept eye contact with her the whole time. She sang along with me and when the song wrapped up, Dane came up on the stage.

I had started a karaoke war and didn’t even mean to.

I had no idea what he was going to sing, but I knew it would be totally off the wall, it wouldn’t be Dane if it wasn’t. He grabbed an electric guitar that the DJ had sitting beside him and started playing “Addicted” by Saving Abel. I hadn’t heard him play guitar since before our dad died. When he died, a piece of Dane died right along with him. He gave up his music and forced himself to grow up a bit and run Dad’s bar.

We all rushed the stage to sing along with him, drinks in hand. He knew every word of the song and Alissa blushed like it was some sort of dirty secret between the two of them.

“Why are you blushing?” I asked her over the music.

“No reason,” she said before singing along and dancing with the music.

Somehow, word leaked out about the reception going on and before we knew it, the backyard was overflowing. Everyone smashed into the tent, drinks were passed around, and all of us were having our moment by putting on a private concert.

“Trent, your turn,” Lennox said when Dane finished up.

Trent took the mic and started singing, “Up All Night” by Hinder. Lennox somehow managed to strip off her wedding dress and instead wore a short pair of jean shorts, flip flops, and a white tank top that said, “Bride” in hot pink. Her hair was flowing down her shoulders as she danced and spun along with the music. Watching her dance and move stirred parts of me and I couldn’t wait to have my wife in our bed.

“What do you say we turn in for the night?” I asked pressing my lips to her ear.

“I think you’re on to something.” She took me by the hand and led me toward the house.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked picking her up and carrying her over the threshold. She squealed and laughed.

“Shh, people are sleeping,” I whispered in her ear. She covered her mouth but couldn’t be quiet for anything. I carried her up to our bedroom and closed the door behind us. Lennox pulled her shirt over her head to reveal a sexy white, lace bra. Then she slid her shorts down to show off the matching panties. I couldn’t take my eyes off her as she slowly walked toward me. When she was close enough, I pulled her in for a kiss. I placed my hands on her hips and picked her up, carrying her over to the bed.

“You’re so fucking sexy,” I said, looking down on her. Before she could get a word out, I covered her lips with mine. She undid the buttons on my shirt and pushed it out of the way before flipping me over to trail kisses down my chest. She unbuttoned my pants but before she could pull them down, I rolled her over and covered her body.

“I have to have you right now.” I pulled her panties down and pressed a kiss to the inside of her thigh.

I couldn’t think of anything but being inside her. I needed her like I needed air to breathe. As soon as I got my pants down enough, I entered her. She moaned the moment I was inside her and she clenched around me.

“Oh, God, baby. You feel so fucking good,” I said moving in and out of her. My head was spinning from how amazing she felt around me. She pushed against me and we rolled over. She climbed on top and slid down my dick. My head fell back just watching her ride me. I unfastened her bra and let it fall off her shoulders so I could watch her. I wanted to
see the pleasure she got from me. She arched her back and moaned out while moving up and down, causing me to lose my mind.

I was ready to come when she picked up the pace. I grabbed ahold of her hips and moved her at the perfect speed for the both of us to fall apart together. Once our earth shattering high ended, she leaned forward, resting her ear to my chest without breaking our connection. I wrapped my arms around her and held her tight. I wasn’t ready to leave her yet. When she squeezed and tightened her muscles around me, I was ready for round two.

I rolled her over and pounded into her hard and fast. I lifted her legs over my shoulders and it was the key to both our orgasms. She moaned my name as I pounded into her one last time, filling her. I collapsed on the bed beside her, breathless.

“I love you so much,” she said curling to my side.

“You have no idea,” I panted out.

I watched as her eyes closed. I couldn’t sleep yet, but I wasn’t going anywhere. I had everything I ever wanted and I wanted to watch her while she slept in my arms. The sun was rising before I finally allowed my eyes to close.

We woke the next morning with Emma jumping on the bed.

“Wake up. Dada. Mama. Hungry,” she said jumping up and down.

“Hi, baby.” Lennox cooed, picking her up from the bed and setting her on the floor. I watched as she pulled herself from bed and put on a long t-shirt.

“Don’t forget people are here,” I said sitting up.

“Glad you reminded me.” She walked off to the bathroom.

“Did you have fun at the party, baby?” I asked Emma who was waiting patiently for her mom to make her some breakfast.

“Yeah, cake.” She had a big smile.

A laugh slipped from my lips. “I liked the cake too.” I nodded just as excitedly as she did.

“Okay Emma, let’s go get some breakfast.” Lennox took Emma’s hand and led her from the room.

Once the girls were gone, I pulled myself from bed and found some clothes before heading downstairs to assist with breakfast.

Lennox was stirring the eggs and burning the toast.

“Let me help,” I said taking over for her.

“Thank you.” She took her coffee and sat down next to Emma.

“So, who invited your mom?” I asked thinking back on the wedding.

“My dad. She tried talking to me but I didn’t want to hear it.”

  “What did she say?”

“She said that she was sorry for everything. She never should have let my dad go and she was a bad wife and mother. I told her she was right and she left.”

“You told her she was a bad mother?” I asked setting down Emma’s plate.

“Yeah, she was a horrible mother. Either way, I doubt we will hear from her again. I got everything I need right here. Don’t I, Emma?”

Emma smiled up at her mommy and nodded her head like she knew what we were talking about.

“See, Emma agrees. Now, let’s eat.” She held out her hands for her plate.

We finished breakfast and put Emma down to play in the living room while Lennox and I cleaned up after breakfast.

Someone knocked at the door and I went to answer it. I opened the door to see Lennox’s mom.

“Oh, hey. We thought you left,” I said not opening the door for her to come in.

“I did. Can I speak with my daughter please?”

“Sure.” I opened the door. “Lennox, your mom is here.”

The three of us sat down in the living room and watched Emma play.

“She reminds me so much of you,” Rose, Lennox’s mom, said.

“I’m surprised you remember me at that age,” Lennox commented back.

Rose let out a breath and pushed her dark hair behind her ears. “Lennox, I wasn’t always the evil mother you believe me to be. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for her birth. I didn’t know.”

“And maybe if you weren’t too busy running around with God knows who and tried to stay in contact with me, you would have known.”

“Look, I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life. I never should have done the things I did. I never should have let you and your father go. It will always be my biggest regret. I just wanted to let you know that I love you and I am sorry for the things I put you and your father through. I would very much like to be a part of your and Emma’s life, when you’re ready, of course.” She stood. “It was very nice meeting you, Mason. Please take care of my daughter and granddaughter. Hopefully, we will see each other again soon.” She turned and let herself out.

“She seems like she’s really sorry,” I pointed out.

“She should be,” she said not willing to cut her any slack.

“Look, what you decide regarding her, is completely up to you. I will back whatever decision you make, but I think you need to give her a second chance.”

She looked at me like I kicked her puppy. “Why?”

“If you haven’t noticed, we don’t have a lot of family. Both my parents are gone and I would give anything to have one more day with them. I just don’t want you having any regrets.” I kissed the top of her head and went to finish cleaning up the kitchen.

Dane and Alissa finally woke up around noon. They came down the stairs looking like the living dead.

“What the fuck happened to you two?” I asked putting the last dish away.

“We drank too much.” Alissa leaned over, resting her head on the island.

“Well, someone drank too much. I had a great time.” Dane smiled.

“Shut up asshole. You’re the one that made me take all those shots.”

Dane rubbed her back. “Come on, we need to go pick up Jax.”

“See you guys later,” Lennox said from the living room.

I turned the light out in the kitchen and sat down next to her to watch Emma play.

“Have any ideas about the honeymoon yet?” I asked.

“No. I don’t know if I want a honeymoon right now,” she answered.

  “Why not?” I asked confused.

She brought her green eyes to mine. “I don’t want to leave Emma.”

“We can take her along.” I shrugged.

“That’s more of a family vacation, not a honeymoon.”

“Okay, then let’s take a vacation. Anywhere you want to go.”

  “Disney World?”

I cocked my head to the side. “You want to go to Disney World?”

She laughed. “Not really, but I bet Emma would enjoy it. Wouldn’t you, Emma?”

Emma cheered and clapped her hands.

“How does she even know what Disney World is?” I asked laughing.

“I’ve been showing her YouTube videos.” She smiled and shrugged.

“Plotting against me already,” I joked, holding Emma down to tickle her.

She slipped through my hands and ran to her mommy.

“Mama, Mama!” she yelled before bailing into her lap.

“Emma, what do we tell daddy?” Lennox asked her.

“Peas, Dada?” Emma asked with her bottom lip sticking out.

I laughed. “That’s going to get me in so much trouble,” I said just thinking about all the times she was going to use that against me. “Disney World it is.”

Lennox and Emma cheered and clapped.

I had a feeling I was out numbered. We really needed to get to work on that boy, and even things out. Who was I kidding? If we had a boy, I was sure he would be wrapped around Lennox’s finger just like his daddy is. That wouldn’t help me out any.

Lennox pulled out the laptop and started planning our family vacation/honeymoon.

“We should get my dad and Kathryn to come with. Then we might get a little mommy/daddy time.”

“Whatever you want,” I said holding Emma in my lap.

Lennox was so happy she was glowing. Seeing her that happy made me happy. I would’ve given her the moon if I could. It didn’t matter what life was going to be for us, as long as we all had each other. I knew we would be fine.<

  Chapter Twenty

  Lennox - One Year Later

It had been one year since Mason and I tied the knot. I had plans for our first anniversary and couldn’t wait to surprise him. Dad and Kathryn agreed to keep Emma for the night so Mason and I could have one last night together before my tour started.

Mason and Emma were going to join me, that meant they wouldn’t get to see Emma for six months. I was excited to get to share that part of my life with them, but I was nervous having a small child running around on a tour bus. The tour was small and I knew that it was my first and last tour for awhile. I still wanted music to be a big part of my life, but I couldn’t make my family suffer to do it.

I knew Mason said he was more than happy to follow me around the world, but I didn’t want to do that to Emma. She deserved a normal childhood, where she could run around in a back yard, not on a bus. Dad and Kathryn had just picked Emma up and I was waiting on Mason to get home.

They had packed up my old room so Emma could have her own bedroom at their place. They brought all of my old stuff over and I had been going through it for several days. I found stuff I forgot I had and stuff I never thought I would see again, a white summer dress in particular.

It was the dress I had on the day Mason and I met. I tried it on and it still fit, even after all those years.

After I walked in and found Ashley in bed with Mason, I threw the dress away thinking I would never be able to look at it again. I guess my dad found it after I left for Tennessee and put it away from me.

It had been years since Mason had seen the dress. I hoped that he remembered it, I wasn’t sure if he would or not.

I pulled the dress on and slid into a pair of white flip flops. My hair was hanging down in loose curls and I put on just a touch of makeup. When he walked through the door, I was standing at the top of the staircase. His eyes traveled up the stairs, to my legs, and up my body.

I saw something in his eyes change. They became softer and lighter as he looked up at me.
