by Miss Janelly

  “Steven, baby I've missed you.”

  “Is this Jade?”

Jade was taken aback by the female voice. “Yes, why?” Jade said concerned, not knowing what was going on.

“How do you know Steven?” the woman asked.

At that moment Jade's chest started to feel hot and she could barely speak. The only thought that crossed her mind was this was his wife.

  “We're just friends. Why?”

“Well, do you know he's my husband and we have four kids together?”

  “Excuse me?”

“I don't understand why he's playing with your mind because I've seen pictures of you. How old are you? You do know that he's almost forty, right? Do you like being a home wrecker?”

Jade almost lost it. Maybe it was a good thing she didn't go to the UK. “He told me he's twenty-eight! Home wrecker? He never told me anything about you,” Jade shot back. “I really don't appreciate you calling me home wrecker.” She couldn't believe that Steven had a wife. Why would he ask her to move in with him? “Where is Steven?”

“Don't worry about that, hun. Just know that he's not leaving his family for you. I've heard all the voicemails you left him.”

“So what? He never told me about you.”

“Please leave him alone. He just used you to make me jealous. Steven does these things all the time. I just want you to know he's staying with me,” the woman said.

“You can have him,” Jade said and hung up.

She had lost the only two men she’d ever loved. Maybe it was only physical what she had with Steven, but she had enjoyed every minute of it. The way Steven made love, Jade couldn't shake it no matter how hard she tried.

Jade couldn't do anything but cry. She let all of her frustration out. She had to just let this go. She shouldn't have cheated on Deshawn. Two wrongs don't make a right.

  Chapter Six

“Jade, baby, please forgive me,” he said, trying to plead his case.

Jade had returned a week later to pick up the rest of her things. She had already made up her mind and she didn't want to be with him anymore. Jade looked at him and shook her head. “I'm sorry but I'm done with you,” she said, placing her ring on the kitchen table.

“Please don't leave me,” Deshawn said, pulling on her arm.

Jade looked down at his hand gripping her arm. “Get off of me I'm late for work,” she said, pulling away from Deshawn.

Deshawn had rage in his eyes and she didn't know if he wanted to put his hands on her. “You have a job? You know you can't survive without me. I'm the reason for all the designer bags and shoes.” He grabbed her purse.

“You can keep all the stuff. I don't need anything from you.” She stormed out of his apartment.

Jade realized that Deshawn wasn't the right guy for her. Even if they got past the cheating, he still was selfish. She had seen a side of Deshawn she didn't like. Jade took a deep breath and drove to work. She arrived on time with not a minute to spare. She actually liked her new job at the Sheraton Hotel. They were the only place that called her back for an interview. She also loved the fact that she was able to stay in a room, free of charge.

The phone rang and Jade answered it. “Hello, Sheraton Hotel, this is Jade speaking. How may I assist you today?”

“Yes, ma'am. I wanted to book a room from next week. I want the presidential suite please,” the caller said.

Jade recognized the caller’s voice but she didn't want to believe it was him. “For how long sir?”

“The whole week, from this Monday to the following Monday, miss,” he said.

Jade only knew of only one person who called her ‘miss’ the way the caller did. But she received thousands of calls. She didn't want to believe it was him. “May I have your name please?”

  “Steven Openshaw,” he said.

Jade wanted to jump through the phone. She had so many words to say to him but she knew that the phone calls were often recorded. She needed answers but didn't know exactly how he would respond.

“Okay sir, I have completed your reservations. You should receive a confirmation email soon,” she said, trying to remain professional.

“Thank you, miss. I can't wait to see you, Jay.”

Jade knew that he was playing games with her heart. But could she have sex again with a married man? It wasn't the right thing to do but she couldn't deny the fact that she loved Steven so much. She had a week to decide whether she would confront him or not. She had a lot of words for him, but could she control herself around him?

  ***

Jade heard a knock at her door. She glanced at the clock. It was around 12 am. Hopefully it wasn't some kids playing around in the hallways. Jade climbed out of bed and wrapped her robe around herself. She looked through the peephole, but someone was covering it.

“Who is it?” she asked, nervously.

  “Room service,” a man replied.

She opened the door only to be surprised at who stood in front of her. His piercing gray eyes filled with lust stared into hers. The sexy man stood in front of her. Naked.

“Oh my....” Jade trailed off, staring at his naked body. The man didn't say anything. He just stared at her body.

Suddenly he picked her up and kissed her deeply, paying special attention to her juicy bottom lip. Jade was instantly aroused being in the arms of this man. He carried her into her bedroom.

Once he laid her down, he removed her robe to reveal her body covered by a small nightgown. He practically ripped the nightgown off of her, trying to get to her sweet core.

He kissed and licked her most sensitive spot. She hadn't had sexual attention in weeks. Jade's body writhed in ecstasy. “Why aren't you saying anything?” Jade moaned, trying to sit up. He didn't answer her. He pushed her back on the bed and continued devouring her sweet core.

Jade started to feel her legs tingle and they began to shake. Her lover knew exactly what was going to happen. Jade’s breathing quickened. She was panting heavily. She could barely handle the pleasure taking over her body. Before she knew it, her lover took her to another world. She exploded and her lover licked up every drop.

“I love you so much and I missed you,” Jade said, reaching out to touch him, but he moved away.

“Jade... I can't do this. I gave up everything for you and I didn't get anything in return,” he said.

“Don't leave... let's talk,” she said, trying to plead with him.

Her lover crawled from between her caramel legs and walked into the living room. Jade ran behind him.

“Please don't leave,” she said, blocking the door. She knew that she didn't love anyone more than him and wanted to work it out.

“I have to. You made your choice. You didn't want me,” he said, not making eye contact.

“Steven...” She watched him walk out the door, out of her life. This time the tables were turned and he was the one leaving her.

Jade woke up from her steamy dream. She couldn't believe how aroused the dream had made her. Except for Steven walking out, she wished it was real. “I need to fix things with him soon.”

  Chapter Seven

“Who is Jade?” Megan yelled, going through Steven's phone. Tears fell from her piercing blue eyes. It was only a matter of time before Steven's world came crashing down. He didn't want his love for Jade to ruin his family. He loved his children with all his heart. It's been a few weeks since he has spoken to Jade and just the mention of her name did something to him. Steven closed the bedroom door because he didn't want his children to hear their conversation.

Steven didn't look at Megan. How could he tell his wife that he was in love with a woman thousands of miles away. A much younger woman he met online in a chat room. Hell, he had only known her for a few months. “A woman I'm seeing...” Steven said, lowly.

“When did you decide to see someone else and not tell me?” Megan asked. Megan had fury in her eyes. He had never seen his estranged wife this upset before. He couldn't deny the love for her. The last co
uple of years had been trouble after their last child was born.

He couldn't admit to her that he had fallen in love with another woman. Images of Jade ran through his mind, causing him to smile.

“Why are you smiling at a time like this?” Megan asked. She shook her head in disbelief.

He shrug his shoulders. “I don't know..” Steven lied. He couldn't deny the fact that he was willing to move to the states just to be with a woman he had only known for five months.

“Well, I called her and told her to leave you alone.”

He stared at his angry wife standing before him. He had fallen in love with her ten years ago and now he didn't even want her.

“Why would you do that to me?” he asked. He knew that it hurt her, but he wasn't in love with her anymore. But he couldn't continue to live a lie, he wanted to be happy.

  “You are my husband...”

“We're very much separated...” he said, staring into her blue eyes. Sure, she's beautiful but things had changed tremendously between them. She had gained forty pounds and dyed her beautiful blonde hair black. She now weighed a hundred and fifty pounds. Megan had gain a few pounds over the years but it never took away from her beauty. Megan had cut her hair into a short bob once he filed for separation. Megan and him were the perfect English couple.

“It doesn't matter... so does this woman lives in the U.S?”

  “Yeah...”

“You met her on a business trip?” Megan asked.

“Listen it doesn't matter. This is none of your business,” Steven said, walking out of the bedroom. He honestly couldn't stand Megan. He had married her ten years ago and things changed after the first year. Even from the beginning he didn't want to marry Megan. She had been what his colleagues, and family wanted for him. The perfect image, she was a stay at home mom and he was a hard worker. He just prayed Jade would be different. If she ever choose to be with him instead of Deshawn. Just the thought of Deshawn made his stomach turn. Why would anyone want to cheat on the sweetest woman he'd ever met.

Steven laid down on the couch. He really didn't want to hear Megan's complaining. It was only a matter of time before he officially moved out of their house. He wanted to have a nice, cozy spot place with Jade, but she probably didn't want anything to do with him.

  ***

Jade's dream last night about Steven made a few things clear. One thing, she's still madly in love with him but he's married. She couldn't understand why he hadn't called her to clear his name. Maybe he was married but she knew that soon their paths would cross and she would get her answers. Her mister is definitely a married man with four children. After talking to his wife, she didn't want anything to do with Steven. She did want to hear his point of view but she didn't want to fall for his charm. He definitely had a way with his words to persuade her to do anything. No matter what issues she was going through she still had to go to work.

Jade continued doing her paperwork until she was interrupted by a familiar female voice.

When Jade's eyes met with Sara's, she wanted to reach over the counter and slap her. But then she thought about how much Sara really did her a favor calm her down. It's a good thing she's no longer engaged to a cheater.

“How may I help you?” Jade said, trying to be professional.

“Yes, I would like to book a room, it's so nice to see you again. Deshawn's doing fine, just in case you wanted to know,” she smirked.

Jade knew that Sara only want to make her life a living hell. She stole her high school sweetheart, right from under her.

Jade ignored her rude comment, “What day would you like to book it for?”

“Tonight, my boyfriend and I have something special planned,” Sara laughed.

Jade wasn't amused but it didn't matter because she rather be alone than with a cheater.

Sara finished her paperwork and snatched her receipt from Jade.

“You're so lucky I care about my job because if I didn't...” Jade stopped herself when she watched Deshawn walk in and wrap his arms around Sara.

“Wow, a working woman, surprise you were able to get a job..” Deshawn laughed.

“Say what you want, but I refuse to be with a cheater,” Jade said. She had enough of listening to the couple upset her. She booked the room and walked away from the front desk and went into the backroom. She couldn't believe that Deshawn was dating Sara. Could that have been his plan all along? Jade didn't want to feel sorry for herself anymore. She simply smoothed her hair back and fixed her clothes. Jade had a lot to offer a man and it didn't matter if Steven or Deshawn didn't see it. Jade's day went as usual, a routine. She found herself after work thinking about Steven. She wanted to call but she wanted him to tell her everything face to face.

Why can't I stop thinking about him. He's a married man. Jade couldn't erase her feelings for Steven. Things just seem so confusing right now. Jade just wanted to be happy and she didn't even tell her folks about the wedding being off. She really didn't include them into her life anymore. Jade had centered her life around Deshawn so much, she didn't really have friends. She wished that she had a best friend to lean on right now. At the moment, Jade didn't have anyone to depend on. Leaving her all alone.

Jade went into the worker's lounge. Jade had been off for about three hours but she was bored in her room.

“Hey, Tasha what's going on tonight?” she asked her co worker.

“It's supposed to be a party in ballroom C tonight and we're supposed to crash it. No one texted you about it?”

“Nope, I'm always out of the loop.”

“It's because you're new, I'm forwarding you the information now,” Tasha said looking at her phone. Jade knew that everyone always focused on Tasha's good looks. She had really long wavy black hair and beautiful hazel eyes. Which both were real. Everyone always admired her gorgeous light skin. Overall, Tasha was the total package. She always got hit on at work. Tasha was the only other black female at work. Sometimes when they worked together, they would talk about different thing. But still Jade didn't consider her as a friend, just a coworker.

  “Thanks.”

“I'll see you tonight,” Tasha said.

Jade wanted to have fun tonight and forget all about her problems. She hurried to her room to pick out a cute outfit for the party. A few hours past and when Jade arrived to the party, everyone was having a good time.

Jade found Tasha at the bar ordering a drink.

“I'm so glad you came out,” Tasha said.

“I'm glad too..” Jade said, looking at the drink menu. She ordered three shots of Patron. Jade loved drinking, she often did to cope with her problems.

“So, do you have a boyfriend?” Tasha asked.

“Nope... single as a dollar bill. What about you?”

“No, I want to enjoy myself. Some guys are overrated and working at the hotel doesn't make it better. Guys just want me to come up to their room. I'm not that type of girl. I've been working here too long. Since I was eighteen, I've been living here for almost four years now. It's time to make some moves,” Tasha said over the music.

“Yeah, I used to live with my boyfriend until I caught him cheating. But I knew it was going on. I just had to see it for myself.”

“Yeah.. but you have a degree Jade, you have options. I wanted to be a model and that didn't work out for me. I should have went to college.”

“You still have time,” Jade said, sipping on her mixed drink.

  “Yeah,” she said.

Before Jade could say another word, she locked eyes with a tall, dark, and handsome man. God he's sexy. She couldn't take her eyes off him. He walked up to Jade and her co-worker. He smiled widely and Jade inhaled his cologne. She loved his scent and couldn't take her eyes off his body. The sexy stranger had a muscular built. His hair cut and goatee said a lot about him. Obviously the man wanted to talk to Tasha. But the man looked at Jade.

“You want to dance?” he asked Jade.

“Sure,” Jade said, surprised. Tasha smiled
at her and put her thumb up.

Jade knew that it felt good to be held by a man. A strong black man, she missed Deshawn a little bit. Deshawn held her the same way this guy did. Very close and secure.

The two strangers danced for several songs. He seemed to be interested in Jade by the way he grabbed her waist. The two strangers danced like they were familiar with each other. A slow song came on and he wrapped his arms around her waist. Jade arms automatically fall over his shoulders. He looked into her eyes and said “You are really beautiful. I'm the luckiest man in the world right now to share a dance with you.”

Jade laughed and said “Stop it...”

The song ended and Jade sat down at the bar and he followed her. Jade blushed because she knew he was following her.

“So, can I have your number beautiful?” he said, whispering in her ear. The dark skin stranger looked so tempting. Jade couldn't deny the man was fine.

“I'm sorry I just got out of a long term relationship.”

“Okay, I'll see you around,” he said, kissing her hand.

  Chapter Eight

Jade had a good time last night but she woke up thinking about the guy. Maybe she should have given him her number. All she wanted was to be happy. She knew that Steven wasn't thinking about her so she had to move on. She couldn't be with a married man anymore. The crazy thing is he's supposed to be her mister, not the other way around. How could she have been so silly? Deep down inside she had to know he wasn't telling her everything. One thing she can't stand is liars. She finally had a day off and she wanted to enjoy it. She put a robe on to go downstairs for breakfast. The same guy at the party was sitting alone.

“Sweetheart..” he said, as she walked past him. Jade turned around and replied “Yes?”

“Have breakfast with me, you at least owe me that.”

Jade let out of a breathe and said “Sure.” She couldn't deny how sexy the man is. If anything she knew he could make her toes curl. She wasn't looking for anything serious, just a good time.
