Back In The Game (Poker Loser Book 2)

Before she’d at least been able to pretend an interest in some of what was going on around her. Now found all of these people vacuous. Uninteresting. Todd wasn’t just someone who had actually worked to put himself through college, he was someone who cared about others. He’d been promoting a fundraiser for children with autism when they’d been going on their ‘dates’ and he’d talked about it a lot. Obviously it hadn’t just been for his business interests, he’d had a genuine interest in making other people’s lives better. No wonder he hadn’t been interested in having a real relationship with her. She was just another corporate princess.
Since he’d left she’d started paying more attention to other people outside of her social set. Giving to charities. Not just for the tax write offs or because it was “what one did” (like her father), but because she had a genuine interest in it. It felt good to give them money out of her own paycheck. Ever since she’d gotten her first paycheck she’d started refusing her father’s monthly allowance. She wanted to know what it was like to live like a real person, on her own two feet. Maybe then if she ever ran into Todd again she’d at least be someone he could respect.
Allison gritted her teeth. She wasn’t supposed to be thinking about him anymore dammit! Instead she turned her eyes to the tall, handsome blonde next to her, his beautiful green eyes were highlighted by the button down green shirt he was wearing – open to show off his muscular chest – over his forest green bathing suit.
“Can you rub some more sunscreen into my back?” she asked Roger.
“Of course,” he said.
Of course. That was always Roger’s answer whether she needed more sunscreen, another drink, or some food. Still, his muscular hands were very nice as they massaged down her back, rubbing the lotion in. Last summer she would have been in heaven in this situation – able to neglect her hosting duties and having a sexy guy at her beck and call. The alluring hint of command that overtook him every once in a while would have excited the hell out of her. Now she needed more than a hint, she needed… stop that.
Rolling back over, Allison glanced over and her stomach flip flopped. Chad was talking towards her. He hadn’t attended the last family dinner with her Aunt Linda and his father, Linda’s husband Derrick, and Allison hadn’t seen him since she’d been gang banged at Todd’s house. Her pussy clenched at the memory. All those men. All those orgasms. And all throughout it and afterwards, Todd, Todd, Todd. Even when she didn’t have a reminder staring her right in the face she couldn’t forget him, how was she supposed to when one of the men he’d shared her with was walking right towards her?
The blood drained out of her face. Surely Chad wouldn’t say something in front of Roger. She sat up abruptly, looking up with Chad as he stopped next to her chair. Lifting her sunglasses away from her eyes, she let him see the pleading in her face.
“Hey Allison,” Chad said leaning down to kiss her on the cheek and then he quickly whispered in her ear. “Stop worrying.”
The anxious knot inside of her loosened. Chad had become much less of an asshole. Of course she’d also stopped being so much of a bitch. They still didn’t acknowledge each other as family, but at least they weren’t being as antagonistic. Chad had even offered to protect her from Todd when she’d shown up for the gang bang, worried that his frat buddy was truly taking advantage of her.
“Hello yourself,” Allison said, smiling up at him in relief. She turned slightly, holding out her hand behind her to where Roger was sitting. “Have you met Roger Davis?”
Being the well-bred gentleman that he was Roger immediately stood and offered his hand.
“Chad McCormick,” Chad said. “Nice to meet you.”
The two men chatted for a minute, exchanging small talk and social pleasantries, while Allison sat between them sipping her water and trying to cool her nerves. Chad wasn’t going to out her but having him here was doing crazy things to her emotions. It was absolutely insane how two gorgeous blonde men could be right in front of her and all she could think about was one intensely sexy dark haired man.
“Allison, there you are, I’ve been looking all over for you,” Diana said, abruptly popping up next to Chad. Allison had to cough to hide her laughter. She’d brought Diana to the party, but the girl had known exactly where Allison was, and where she had been for the past thirty minutes. There was absolutely no doubt about what had really grabbed Diana’s attention away from the chocolate fountain in the kitchen.
Looking absolutely stunning in a little two-piece dark pink string number with a matching sarong tied around her hips, Diana shook back her long black hair and smiled perkily up at Chad. In less than two minutes Diana was working her flirtatious charms on Chad who responded rapidly. Roger sat down next to Allison, reaching out to hold her hand as they watched the show. Eventually Diana included them in the conversation by challenging them to a game of Chicken. Since Allison was taller than Diana, it was a lot harder for her to balance and she and Roger ended up losing after a rowdy game. She was glad that Diana and her step-cousin seemed to be getting along so well.
When Allison offered to get them some drinks from the kitchen and Chad tagged along to "help", she couldn't help but feeling a little bit of the fluttering excitement as they walked in together. Maybe he’d know something about when (if ever) Todd might be back. They were fraternity brothers after all.
"Roger seems nice," Chad commented as she filled some glasses with juice and rum.
"He is," Allison said shortly. She didn't really want to talk about Roger.
"Mmm..." He was looking out the window to where Diana and Roger sat on some lounge chairs, laughing. "Diana’s still pretty wild, huh?"
Allison nodded automatically, as she put the juice away. “So. Um. Heard anything from Todd lately?”
She could practically feel Chad’s blue eyes digging into her shoulder blades. Keeping her face averted from him she loaded a tray with three of the drinks, pushing Chad’s towards him. There was an ominous silence. Allison glanced up at Chad to see an expression alarmingly like pity on his face.
“He was in town last weekend. He didn’t call you?”
Her stomach roiled. Immediately she looked away, blinking against the tears that suddenly threatened in her eyes.
“No.”
That was all she could say without losing control over the threatening tears.
“Do you want me to kick his ass for you next time he’s in town?”
Allison laughed, a harsh bitter laugh. “Thanks, but no.”
No, Todd hadn’t done anything that deserved an ass kicking. He had only given her what she asked for, nothing more and nothing less. The fact that he took her heart in the bargain wasn’t his fault. At the same time, as she and Chad went out to the backyard, him opening doors for her along the way so that she could keep the tray steady, a slow burning fury started to rise inside of her.
So she meant so little to him that he couldn’t even call her when he was in town? It had just been past a month last weekend since they’d seen each other. Apparently that was all the time he needed to get over her. What the hell was she doing still moping around over him?

Later she managed to get Roger up to her old room with the pretense of looking at some of her old photo albums. Not that she’d ever try to truly inflict those on a guy. Although, to his credit, he’d actually seemed somewhat interested in looking at pictures of her as a child and teenager. It wasn’t too long before they were kissing on her bed, just the way she’d hoped. Well, almost the way she’d hoped. He wasn't on top of her, or even under her. They were side by side where she couldn't really feel the whole heat of his body. She could barely even feel his hardness pressing into her. It had her monumentally frustrated, and she ran her hands over his body, down to his hips, trying to encourage him to more.
For a moment, it seemed that she had succeeded, and one of his hands ran up along her body to cup her breast. The touch was gentle and light, and she moaned into his mouth, pres
sing it against him, trying to get him to squeeze her breast harder. Instead, it was just still the same light teasing touch, as he stroked her with feather light touches, igniting a fire between her legs without doing anything to quench it. She stirred a little, her hips moving against his more firmly, his dick was hard in his bathing suit, she could feel it. Why wouldn't he do anything??
She was a little afraid to try anything too forward with him, because that’s not what good little corporate princesses did. There was still a large part of her that was afraid of condemnation for her desires; it was one of the things she’d like best about Todd. Not only had he not thought she was a slut, he’d liked that she wanted things to be wild. In fact, he’d pushed her boundaries far past what she would have ever done on her own. And it had meant nothing to him other than more pleasure for both of them, not once had he judged her for what she wanted. Mostly he’d just indulged her.
Pushing thoughts of him aside, Allison redoubled her efforts with Roger, focusing on how good he smelled, the way his lips felt as they moved against hers, the soft touch of his hands.
An hour later they hadn't gotten farther than his light touches on her aching breasts and it was time for him to go. She clung to him a little as he left, kissing him deeply and passionately, wishing that he would pick up on her needs and follow through with them. But he just said goodbye and that he looked forward to seeing her again. A last press of his lips against hers and he was gone.
Turning, she saw her father and Chad chatting as they walked down the hallway.
"Bye Allison," Chad said as he opened the front door to leave, then he paused for a moment as if he'd just had a thought. "Hey, are you doing anything tonight?"
"No." Not since Roger couldn’t go out and she and Diana hadn’t made plans because she’d hoped that Roger might come over.
"Wanna come out to this new club with me? My friend owns it and supposedly it's killer... and maybe you could see if Diana wants to come."
Mutely Allison nodded as Chad smiled and left. The perfect excuse to get out and forget about things. Dashing out to the backyard she asked Diana, who said she'd be happy to come along and was very pleased that Chad had asked for her in particular. It made her happy to set the two of them up again, although a little jealous, but she realized that she wasn’t particularly disappointed that Roger wouldn’t be there. No, she was still thinking about another man entirely.
Chapter 2
The evening before going to the club was torturous for Allison. Diana left and she had dinner with her parents, as she’d promised. They wanted to know all about Roger and how their relationship was going, how her job was going (somehow managing to show disapproval even while congratulating her on her promotion), how living on her own was going (was she sure she didn’t want to move back home?), and what she thought her plans for the school year might be. The more they disapproved of her the more she found herself digging in, wanting to force them to accept her decisions about her own life. It was obvious that they wanted to control her every move, although they never came right out and said so.
“We’re so happy that you met Roger,” her mother said, as she hugged Allison goodbye. “He’s such a nice young man.”
“Very fit,” said her father agreeably. Whatever that meant. As he gave Allison a kiss on the cheek he slipped something into her hand and dropped his voice to a whisper so that her mother wouldn’t hear. “Very proud of the promotion.”
That last compliment made Allison’s heart swell. At least her father showed some real support for her wanting to make something of herself, her mother definitely didn’t understand at all. He looked rather torn between pride and disapproval as he stepped back. She curled her hand around the paper he’d given her as she forced a smile before heading out the door with a sense of supreme relief.
Once she got into her car she turned on the overhead light and looked at the check her father had given her. One thousand dollars. Allison rolled her eyes. Her daddy still couldn’t get past his little girl actually working for money or the idea that she might not need or want his. Still, at least she knew he was proud of her work ethic, even if he wasn’t thrilled with the idea of her actually working. She’d donate the money to charity. Maybe split it between several of them.
Once she got home she immediately rushed to her room to get dressed. By the time she was finished her brown curls tumbled just a little ways past her shoulders, resting on the top of the curves of her breasts. The shirt was made of satiny silver material, a halter top with thin straps, the front dipping down in a "V" over her stomach, the tip of the V ending at her belly button. With loose material hanging at the top of it and pooling between her breasts, it emphasized her perky 34Ds. She was wearing one of those bras that stuck to her skin, her first time trying one out, so that they wouldn’t get too sore while she bounced and danced. It also gave her something other than her skin to stick the fashion tape to, to keep her shirt from gaping open. The short black skirt hugged her hips and ass snugly, the hem fluttering just two inches below her firm cheeks while black leather boots encased her legs all the way up to her thighs. She looked damn good.
The doorbell rang, announcing Chad’s arrival to pick the girls up, and Allison hurried into the living room, running into Diana who was looking sexy in a long skirt that was slit up almost to her hip on both sides and a lavender tube top which hugged her small, perky boobs. Chad gave them a low whistle and the guy nod of approval when they opened the door, making both girls blush happily. Wrapping his arm around each of their waists to walk them to the car, he announced that he was in heaven.
Allison laughed, but she felt a twinge of jealousy as Diana leaned into him. Still, she made sure that Diana took shotgun. Just because she was miserable and lonely didn’t mean that her friends had join her.
At the club there were plenty of guys willing to dance with both girls, although Chad monopolized most of Diana's dances - something which didn't seem to perturb the fun loving girl at all - and kept an eye on Allison and her dance partners as well. Most of the guy's dancing with her used the flashing lights and sexual dance moves to their own advantage, sliding their hands down her waist to roughly squeeze her ass before moving them back out before Chad could look over. They seemed to realize that she had a guy watching out for her, but all that meant for Allison was a lot of teasing as they rubbed their hard bodies against her. One of them was even brazen enough to reach up into her shirt and squeeze her hard little nipples, making her moan with desire. He was tall with dark hair and in the dim lights it was all too easy to pretend she was dancing with Todd. She began to resent Chad's watchful eye after a while, as guy after guy eventually left to go in search of easier meat.
Allison managed to enjoy herself for the most part, despite the fact that Chad was doing a good impersonation of a guard dog. It didn’t escape her notice that her preference for light hair and light eyes seemed to have been subsumed by a marked interest in guys with dark hair and dark eyes. Although, none of them were quite like Todd. Even the ones that got handsy with her, exciting her body, didn’t have that same kind of dangerous air to them.
The ride home seemed to take forever as Chad and Diana talked and laughed in the front seats. In the total darkness of the back seat, Allison rubbed her clit through her thong, shuddering a little as the pleasure ran through her. Just being around Chad had reminded her way too much of Todd and after all the light kissing she and Roger had done today, she was feeling anxiously horny. It was hard not to squirm and play with herself, losing herself in memories, with Chad’s voice setting off all sorts of visuals. When he dropped off her and Diana she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and hurried inside.
She might not be able to watch the video of her and Todd, but she could still get herself off. This time she skipped the butt plug, just lying on her bed, feet planted firmly on the mattress with her legs spread as she rubbed her pussy with her hand. Trying to be good, she visualized Roger… the occasional glimpse of a dominant alpha mal
e that would spark in his eye… but of course his blonde hair turned dark, his green eyes slid into deep brown ones that she felt like she was drowning in, and by the time she was climaxing, Allison was holding one hand above her head, grasping at the headboard, pretending both her arms were tied there and she was lying helpless as Todd pounded into her.
Her dreams that night were haunted by a demanding and passionate man with jet black hair and amused brown eyes.

Since it was the beginning of the fiscal year Allison’s current job consisted of data entry for the benefits elections that everyone had chosen. It was an easy but tedious task; however she appreciated it because it demanded just enough of her attention that she wasn’t constantly thinking about Todd. Being a receptionist the first few weeks, before HR had started utilizing her free time, had nearly killed her. Now she only thought about him once or twice an hour. And every time she thought about him she forced herself to think about Roger instead.
Her favorite times were in the evenings when she and Diana would eat ice cream and watch Sex in the City or The L Word or Tudors together. That had definitely not been something she could do at home - how embarrassing would it be to watch shows with so much sex with her parents around? She found that she really liked marathons of their favorite television shows while getting some girl time. Chad had started coming by on a regular basis to see Diana, who seemed to be more interested in him than she had the first time around. Although Diana still did a lot of ordering Chad around, he didn’t always hop to, and she seemed to like that.
