Magic, New Mexico: Touching Topper (Kindle Worlds Novella) (My Crazy Alien Romance Book 2)

“Fascinating. She appeared to me in the sky and showed me where you were buried under the snow,” Stark said, leaning in to look closer at her. “I think she even sent the dogs to help dig you out.”
Topper shook her head. “And she told me that she was Gaia’s messenger… along with many other things that I’m still thinking about.”
Thor sucked in a breath. “She is with her goddess then?” he asked.
Topper nodded and pointed. “I believe she is with Gaia and she looks just like that.”
Thor rubbed his chest and closed his eyes. “Thank you for letting me know, Topper. I find that idea very comforting.”
Topper crossed her arms. “Don’t thank me yet. She also said to tell you that your destiny is a lot more complicated than the life you had with her. I’m paraphrasing because I forgot exactly how she put it, but I know she wanted you to stop grieving her death and move on. She was insistent I tell you this.”
Thor nodded. “I trust your words. It was what she said to me just before she died.”
Reaching out, Thor touched the disk again, and when the image disappeared, he put it back in his pocket. “I should go, but… I will come and visit soon… if you are sure you want to involve yourself with me.”
Stark nodded. “I’m sure. And if we have to tell the Directors you live, we’ll tell them you and I accidentally found each other. There is no need to explain anything else. And I will lie for you so you will not stain your honor further.”
“Lie, sir? I would not want you to sacrifice your honor either.”
“Then let’s call our story a creative truth,” Stark advised, “for a higher purpose. That is all anyone need know of your existence here.”
After Thor left, they ordered room service again, because Topper was starving once more. Then she made Stark lie down with her. She didn’t think she could tell him what she’d learned while they were standing up.
“Something else happened when I saw Thor’s old mate,” Topper began.
Stark reached over and splayed a large hand across her abdomen. “Whatever decision you make will be fine with me. I was searching for a way to tell you what might have occurred. The words just would not come.”
“Goddess, you already know about the baby?” Topper demanded.
Stark sighed. “No… I merely knew it was possible, but I was afraid to reveal it to you. You seemed so happy with thinking it was just our passion that caused your euphoria.”
“So now you’re telling me ‘creative truths’ as well?”
Stark chuckled. “I would never do that about something so important. That’s why I chose silence. I felt the spark happen that night. Has the light sought it out? That I did not intend.”
Topper nodded. “Yes, and apparently that light was what was causing my crazy power fluctuations. Once I knew what was going on I let the light find it because the baby seemed to want it to. Is that crazy of me?”
“No. It is brave and adventurous and startling, but not crazy. Children are a gift.” Stark pulled his mate closer and kissed her cheek, her eyes, her purple hair. “I have no words to tell you how much your acceptance of my child means to me. I thought my chance for children was long gone.”
“Don’t get too happy there, Daddy Alien. I think this first one is going to be a bit of a challenge,” Topper warned.
“I’m sure she will be. First one?” Stark repeated dryly, lifting his head and staring down at her.
“She?” Topper repeated back, staring up at her mate’s sparkling gaze.
They both laughed.
“I can feel that she’s female,” Stark whispered.
“I have on good authority she’s also a witch. If you were hoping I’d birth a little alien icicle controlling baby, you’ll have to try for that next time. And I’d like to name her after my mother.”
Stark laughed. “So long as it isn’t an ugly name.”
“Her name was Jessica.”
“Jessica is a good name,” Stark said, kissing his frightened mate who working so hard to be brave. “So is Topper. We could name her that. You must love it since it’s not your real name.”
Topper snickered. “I may be sappy and pregnant, but I am not telling you my real name. I don’t care if this is our honeymoon. No one speaks that name to me and I intend to keep it that way.”
“Now there’s that sweet, docile female I adore like the five suns of Erasus. Goddess, I’ve missed her caustic tongue wagging at me all the long day… and what it does at night was even more sorely missed,” Stark teased, rolling on top of his now giggling mate. “Kiss me so we can celebrate this alien witch we’ve created between us.”
“Goddess, I love you, Stark. You are never, ever allowed to go away,” Topper said, suddenly aware how precious what she had with Stark really was. “We almost died out there in the snow, didn’t we?”
Stark shook his head no—an enormous creative truth—but sometimes they were necessary when you needed to calm your pregnant mate.
“It was just an adventure we needed to take together, Topper. In fact, I think we should do another before the baby comes. Let’s do something easier next time though, like climbing a mountain or deep sea diving or bear wrestling. Now those I’m sure we can handle with no mishaps at all.”
Topper didn’t stop giggling until he’d kissed her senseless.

MATCHMAKER ABDUCTION
Book 1 of ALIENS IN KILTS
Click Here To Read An Excerpt!
True love is said to defy time, but can it survive space, aliens, and being abducted? Angus MacNamara and Erin O’Shea are about to find out.
The big blue planet that most call Earth desperately needs matchmakers. There is only one small—okay, BIG—problem. No one wants the alien dating service job… No one. The original matchmakers are dead, and much worse, their DNA is no longer viable for cloning.
Solution? Go back in time to some of Earth’s other—thankfully slower spinning—versions, and retrieve the alternates of the one couple in any universe who seems able to do the job.
Far easier said than done though, especially when the alternates are anything but a loving couple, and both are none too pleased to be thrown into the future.
What does oil and water create? Salad dressing or a real fecking mess of aliens, humans, and matchmaking fun!

About the Author
After many years of doing everything for a living except writing books, I finally published my first romance novel in March of 2011. Thirty plus novels later, I am living my own happily ever after as a full time author.
I do my best to give back to the universe by hanging out to write at local coffee shops and helping keep them in business.
My work spans several genres, such as romance, paranormal, and science fiction. Humor is the most common element across all my writing. Addicted to making readers laugh, I include a good dose of comedy in every book.
I love to hear from readers. Here’s some easy way to get in touch.
