Seducing Gracie

“Spread your legs, Detective Usher.” Gracie’s heartbeat sped up and a splash of moisture dampened her panties. A second later, Jimmy the IT guy poked his head from under her desk. “Sorry, ma’am, I mean, please move your feet. I gotta plug in your network cable.”

Gracie fought the urge to throw up. So many things pointed to the possibility of the impossible -- Ginny’s return, Hark, the fact that Katherine Banks and William had both disappeared. Why couldn’t Sam be real too? Why?

“Usher, goddamn it, get your ass in here!” The captain’s voice and the slamming of a door interrupted her longing.

She glanced up to see Fields in the office, his mouth moving a mile a minute. The soundproof glass precluded her from hearing his words, which was just as well. Careful not to trip over Jimmy’s feet sticking out in the aisle, she picked her way around the other desks.

“What the fuck is wrong with you, Usher?” Fields screamed before she even stepped over the threshold to the captain’s office. He turned to pace the room.

She bit her lip to keep from saying something she’d regret not regretting later.

Captain Ofner waved her in, his demeanor more reasonable than the overwrought commissioner’s. “What?” she mouthed at him, shrugging.

He shushed her, tilting his head at the window. A shadowy figure lurked there, but getting a good view of the person proved impossible with Fields in the way. A chill touched her skin, though. A familiar, tingly chill.

“Getting married to your missing ex-husband’s brother is one thing, but trying to get him a job here by pulling strings is over the line, Usher. Over the goddamn line! I’ll have your head, you bimbo!”

Amazement rooted Gracie to the spot, her body quivering inside. Logic. Where was her logic? Captain Ofner spoke, but she only caught part of it as he waved her outside. “Good work. Ginny Gunther case. Don’t worry. He’s an asshole.”

Gracie’s legs refused to work right. Her knees were shaky, but she managed to stumble through the door and into the empty aisle. No handsome demon lurked there,

no open arms waited to hold her. Despair threatened and the room whirled. This is whathappens when one becomes illogical, she thought helplessly. Maybe it’s menopause. At thirty-two.

“Afternoon, ma’am. I’m Sam Usher, and I’m looking for a lost Chihuahua.”

Time stopped. Her breathing stopped. She lifted her head and screamed. In three steps she launched herself at Sam where he relaxed by her cubicle, wrapping her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. She rained kisses all over his face, his stunned laughter music to her ears. “You’re real!” she repeated over and over.

He grabbed her ass to steady them both and they remained there, holding each other in the middle of the precinct while curious onlookers whispered around them. It didn’t matter, Gracie decided. She liked to be watched.

Sam carried his pretend wife out the door and into the stairwell, where privacy would allow them the opportunity to finalize some details of their relationship, among other things.

Gracie dropped to her feet the minute they reached the stairwell, and Sam trapped her soft body against the wall. The feel of her, alive and human, warm and willing, spread excitement straight to his groin. He crushed her lips with his, sliding his hand between them. He yanked the hem of her skirt up and beyond the elastic of her panties, where his fingers found her soft, wet pussy ready for him. Retracting his hand, he fumbled with his pants. His cock dripped, prepared to give his woman just what she needed. Gracie shimmied, wiggling her fine ass until her skirt rode up to her hips, exposing her pink panties, which he quickly dispatched.

She offered herself to him, but he turned her around -- how he’d wanted to take her like this since the moment they’d met -- and bent her over the railing, his hand wrapped in her thick blonde braid. He fingered her, and she pressed back into his hand, lightly thrusting, encouraging him to go further.

Sam penetrated her pink folds. Her tightness accepted him, sucking him deeper and deeper inside her, just where he wanted to be. Her pussy clamped down, the muscles contracting around his aching shaft, and he came, his passion for her flowing

deep inside her. She climaxed just after, the intensity of her response assuring him he’d made the right choice.

They stayed there, Sam’s cock happily implanted in his favorite human. He fondled her breasts through her blouse.

“How?” was all Gracie could muster as she took one of his hands in hers. He never thought holding a human’s fingers entwined with his could feel so nice.

“I had to obey the Urge, Gracie, but once the fog took us back, I betrayed my kind and was suitably punished. I’m sorry about William. Please forgive me.”

Without a word, Gracie squeezed his hand, whether in forgiveness or compassion, he didn’t know. His cock slid out of her and he helped her straighten, fixing her skirt in place before tucking himself away and zipping his pants. Gracie’s cheeks glowed and her bright eyes reflected nothing but happiness.

“How? How did you betray your kind?” she said again, her gaze fixed on him.

He sidled up to her, wrapping his arm around her waist, claiming her. Now he had the power, he had something to offer her besides a town full of homicidal maniacs.

“The punishment for betrayal of the kind is banishment to the human kingdom. To get back to you, I killed Gaston when we returned to the fog, and here I am.”

Gracie laughed out loud. She adjusted her arms around him, snuggling close.

After a minute, she glanced up at him, her eyes moist. “I’m glad you killed that mutant pterodactyl, but you gave up who you are. I wouldn’t have asked that. I have nothing to offer you except a dingy little apartment and a Chihuahua.”

Sam fought a grin. If she only knew. He had quite a bit to fill her in on about his new “human” life. Better to let it come out during pillow talk. “Not exactly. We’ll talk details later. Suffice it to say, I can arrange an audience for us whenever you want. And don’t forget, I used to live in a cave -- and it is my Chihuahua.”

She shivered in his embrace and he caught her scent -- pure excited woman. He wanted to explain more, but he should wait until they were truly alone to let her know how important she was to him, how he’d waited eons to find a noble human. How much he longed to be with her forever. So he kissed her breathless.

“Ahem.” A deep voice echoed off the stairwell walls. “Why do I get a feeling there’s more to this little love story than you’ve told the captain?”

Gracie introduced the man staring down at them as her partner Rick, and Sam tightened his arms protectively around her. While he sensed no more emotion emanating from her toward the man than one would expect from a friendship, taking chances was out of the question. Fortunately, Rick gave him a most perfect idea, an idea that would definitely keep the other man from thinking about Gracie, or anything, for a long, long time.

“Hey, I won’t tell anyone. But listen, do you have a sister maybe?” Patrick joked, but Sam jumped on it. So what if his little sister could be a hellcat -- literally?

“As a matter of fact, Rick, I do. Her name’s Lucy, but she’s a handful,” Sam warned, knowing full well Detective Patrick O’Malley wouldn’t listen. None of Lucy’s paramours ever did.

Rick shrugged. “No problem, man. I’m a force to be reckoned with among the ladies. When can I meet her?”

Sam faced Gracie, and just before his lips touched hers, he responded, “At our wedding.”
