Jordan blushed and tried to change the subject. “So are you going to stay for the game?”
“Is that what you want to do?”
“Honestly, I hadn’t even thought about it,” she answered truthfully. “Doing nothing sounds pretty good after this week!”
“That sounds perfect,” Charlie smiled. “And after nothing, maybe I can take you to the dance? I mean . . . if you want to go.”
She smiled back, nodding, and let him take her hand as they walked away from the field.
