Q: You have a full-time job and a lot of other hobbies. How do you find time to write?
A: I don’t find time to write. I make time to write. Writing takes a lot of discipline. I have to carefully budget the time or I will never have enough time or energy to finish anything. Setting deadlines for myself helps me focus. Making sure that I have easy access to my writing tools also really helps in case I am suddenly surprised by a random burst of free time. I have to make writing a priority and take my writing seriously. As an obscure, self-published author, I know that nobody cares if I ever finish my novel. I have to care enough to get it done and do it well, even if that requires sacrifice.
