Mr. Right Now: Vol. 3: Drinks On Us Tonight
Page 6
“Yeah,” Cole mumbles.
“My sister swore to god that I was dating him and even had herself convinced I was engaged to him, so she hired a PI to follow me.”
“And?” Cole feels his blood boil at the thought, and wonders if that’s why he treats her like trash.
“And what do you think?”
Cole pushes back from the table and stretches his legs out with one arm relaxed on the chair.
“I’m thinking he wants you.”
Salads are placed in front of the couple, but again it’s like the rest of the world is blocked out when they’re together.
“Oh, he had me. Fucked me all night one time. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but I just wasn’t feeling him.”
Cole sits straight up, furious. “Fuck, Jax…”
She breaks out in laughter before he has a chance to scold her about the workplace and dating.
“Gotcha, player.”
“Don’t call me that anymore.”
“Why? It’s who you are.”
“What if I don’t want to be that with you?”
“I’d say you might have to kiss me again to convince me.”
Cole sits forward and reaches over the table until his lips meet hers, and the whole world vanishes again.
Cole’s hand rests on Jax’s thigh again on the drive home. The restaurant had closed down while they talked the night away on the balcony, but the management never asked them to leave. It was Cole who picked up on the chills running up and down Jax’s arm.
“Dinner was amazing. I don’t think I’ve had a meal like that since high school. I’m used to the cafeteria food.”
“Hey, the cafeteria food isn’t that bad.”
“You’re right.” Jax covers Cole’s hand on her leg.
“How was dessert?” he asks, smiling and looking straight ahead.
“Sinfully delicious.”
Cole stops the car in front of her apartment, and neither of them makes eye contact. Jax finds herself willing Cole to ask about the nurse outfit. She has no idea why or how he’s turned her into this.
“Thanks for dinner and returning the favor.”
“Anytime, Doc.”
Cole climbs from the car and opens her door, holding his hand out. She takes it and lets him walk her up to her apartment. They travel in silence, but their thoughts are presently clear to each other.
Jax unlocks and opens her door. “Well, thanks again.”
“You work tomorrow?”
“No, I’m off for a couple of days.”
“Well, thanks for the night.”
“Bye, Cole.”
Jax closes the door, feeling a bit deflated he didn’t offer her any more or tease her about the nurse’s outfit. She slips the high heels from her feet and throws them across the room, and then slides down the wall until she’s sitting on the floor. She buries her face in her knees, remembering the feel and taste of Cole. She’s never opened up so easily to someone before. Hell, none of her co-workers even know about her childhood. Tears begin to prick at her eyes, but Jax refuses to shed one single tear and chalks it up to exhaustion and wine.
“Jax.” A knocking on her door startles her.
She stands and peeks through her peephole to see Cole, and without another thought, she opens the door.
“I, uh...” Cole tucks his hands into his pockets. “I don’t want to be a player with you, but we did agree on steak and the naughty nurse costume.”
Jax smiles at Cole’s stumbling over his words. Her own eyes have seen the images and read the stories on the World Wide Web, and he’s trying so hard to be different.
“Listen, player, sometimes a naughty nurse needs a bad boy just for one night.”
“One night?”
“I need one night with you, Cole.”
He takes two giant steps toward Jax, grabbing her by the face and slamming into her. Their lips meet and take over like they did in the restaurant, neither of them holding back now. Cole grips Jax’s ass and easily lifts her up and wraps her legs around his waist. He finds the nearest wall and presses up against her.
Jax pushes back from him, but he makes it impossible to do. She tries again and again, until he finally gets the clue.
“Nurse outfit,” she says breathlessly.
Cole looks at her with an odd expression.
“I bought a nurse’s outfit for tonight. Let me go put it on.”
He drops his forehead to hers. “You really bought one?”
“I wanted dessert.”
Cole sets Jax to her feet. “Then by all means.”
He steps back and watches her sashay down a hallway.
“But I’m only giving you five minutes before I come looking for you.”
Jax giggles as she makes it halfway down the hall, sprinting to get to her closet. She pulls on the knee-high white stockings first, then slips out of her dress. She catches her reflection in her full-length mirror and wishes like hell she was brave enough to go out there dressed only in the stockings. Jax smiles back at herself, proud of how beautiful her body is. She was raised to always be better, and if she wasn’t, her parents would fix it. She turned down the offer of a boob job and nose job in high school, and standing here she’s glad she did so.
“Two minutes, Doc.”
“Hey, it’s Nurse Nancy to you.”
Jax throws the dress over her head. She tugs it down as low as it will go and then stuffs her breasts in it. She checks her ass out in the mirror, and it’s barely covered by the bottom of the white material. She doesn’t stop too long to think about the degrading costume because the ache between her thighs controls her every decision.
“Thirty seconds.”
Her trembling hands open the door, and she begins strutting down the hallway.
“Wait, Cole, close your eyes.”
“Jax, you’re killing me.”
“Close your goddamn eyes now.”
“Fine.”
Once she sees his eyes shut, she races over to her high heel shoes and places them on her feet and then turns to Cole, who is settled on her couch.
“I heard someone had a boo-boo.” Jax bites down on her pointer finger.
Cole opens his eyes and gasps. “Holy fuck. I thought you were shitting me.”
“Where does it hurt, little boy?”
Cole remains speechless on the couch with his eyes roaming Jax’s body. She appreciates his stare of approval. Jax drags her hands to her breasts and readjusts them.
“Where is your owie?”
Her voice snaps Cole from his seductive glances, and she watches his hand glide from the back of the couch to rest on his crotch. Jax’s jaw drops as she watches him lightly squeeze it.
“Right here.” He puts his hand on the back of the couch again as he stretches out further.
“Let Nancy take a look.” She saunters over to him, straddling his lap but leaving ample space between them. “Show me where it hurts again.”
Cole reaches down again, but doesn’t grab himself. Instead he unbuttons and unzips his pants. Jax chews on her finger, watching him. Playing the role is exhilarating and exciting her beyond control. She’s not sure how much longer she can stay in character before she begs Cole to fuck her.
There’s nothing hotter than watching a man release his hard cock.
“Keep going, little boy.”
“Show me yours first.”
Cole’s voice is drenched in hunger and need. Jax pulls her dress down, exposing her bare tits, and watches him advance on her.
“No, no, show me your boo-boo.”
Cole is quick to pull himself the rest of the way out and then tries flipping her again.
“Wait. I’ve a boo-boo to take care of.”
Jax slips off his lap and sinks to her knees. Cole plays with her breasts, and she allows him that bit of fun.
“All the pain will be gone in a minute.”
Her mouth covers him, and she can’t help but moan when his silky, steel-hard cock da
nces on her tongue. It takes Jax several seconds to recover before she can lap at him. She drags her tongue from the base all the way to the tip, making swirling motions around the head. She finally swallows him whole and begins sucking. She grazes her teeth along his flesh, applying the right amount of pressure.
After several minutes she looks up at him. “Feel better?”
“I need you,” he growls.
“Take me.”
***
Those are the two words Cole’s been dying to hear since she opened the door in her little black dress and red heels. He had to distract himself at dinner with a question and answer session, and then force himself to leave because he didn’t want to be with her as the player. When she opened the door the second time and basically put the words in his mouth, he was hard and ready for her.
Cole effortlessly picks Jax up from the floor and heads down the hallway, finding her bedroom easily. He lays her on the bed and begins stripping, watching her watch him.
“Jax, I fucking need this now.”
“Want me to show you where it hurts?”
He watches her lift her hips from the bed and hike up her dress, and then follows her fingers as they sink inside her. She begins to moan and buck, but never breaks eye contact. Cole reaches for the foil packet in his pocket and then settles on his knees between her spread legs.
Using his teeth, he tears open the packet and rolls the condom over himself. He pulls Jax’s hand from her core and licks her finger clean. His body begins to cover hers, and he keeps her hands pinned above her head.
Teasing her, he begins to push into her but then backs out.
“Cole.” Jax tries to push her hips forward, but he’s too fast and pulls back. She reaches up and nips him on the bottom lip and growls into his mouth. “Fuck me, and fuck me hard.”
Cole loses all of his willpower and plunges into her. He’s been with plenty of women and sunk in the tightest of assholes, but Jax’s pussy does something to him. Cole pins her hands tighter to the mattress as he destroys her, thrust after thrust. He can hear her screams and even feel her tighten around him as she comes, but it’s all distant sound as he experiences the best sex of his life.
He slows the pace, rolling over and dragging Jax to sit atop him. Her dark brown hair is a mess, streaming down her shoulders, and her face sparkles with a light, sweaty glaze. A little smile forms on her face as she begins to rock back and forth. Cole grips her hips, encouraging a steady rhythm, and in a few moments he’s lost all control again, slamming her down hard on him, meeting her with thudding thrusts.
Jax screams out again, and when her pussy clenches his hungry cock, he explodes, seeing stars from the most powerful orgasm of his life. Jax collapses on his chest in a sweaty heap, breathing heavily.
“Best fucking sex ever.” He feels each word mumbled into skin.
“Best fucking sex ever,” he repeats, and he wasn’t fucking lying either.
“Whatever, player.” Jax slides off to the side, tracing his banner tattoo covering his chest.
He grabs her chin with a painful force. “I’m not fucking lying, Jax.”
Cole lets go off her face, scared of how forceful he was with her. He has no intentions of hurting her, but she needs to know the truth.
“Sorry,” she whispers.
“I’d never lie to you, Jax. That’s the one thing I can promise you.”
His eyes grow heavy while she continues tracing each of the tats on his chest. Soon her finger stops and her breathing slows. It’s the most comforting thing he’s ever felt, and he soon floats away into slumber.
Jax rolls over in the sunshine to find an empty bed. She sits up, halfway asleep, looking around for signs of Cole. Her hand lands on a piece of paper next to her.
Doc,
Have a quick business trip out of town. I’ll call you when I’m back. Thanks for last night. It was the best conversation and fun I’ve had in a long time.
Cole Sterling
PS- Breakfast is waiting for you in your kitchen.
Even his fucking handwriting is sexy. There has to be some sort of finishing school where the Sterlings went, she thinks to herself again. Jax climbs from the bed and gasps when the covers drop to the ground, exposing her naked body. Never in her life has she done what she did last night.
She’s not Virgin Mary, but far from a ‘ho. Jax experimented with a couple different boyfriends in college, but it took them several grueling months before they even made it to second base with her. Not Cole Sterling. He slides right into home plate, and the sad thing is she begged him for it.
Jax wraps herself up in her robe and makes her way to the kitchen to see an assortment of pastries and a very large bouquet of red roses. The card peeking from the flowers reads “Nurse Nancy.” She snatches it and quickly opens the card and is surprised to see his handwriting and not typed letters.
Naughty Nurse Nancy,
I found my experience at your clinic very exhilarating and to the utmost standards of care. Thank you for allowing me to be your patient. If you ever have another opening, please let me know.
The Patient
Jax searches the counter for her phone and races over to it. She pulls up his number and sends him a quick text.
Jax: Thank you
The Player: Thank you
Jax: You should’ve woken me
The Player: I don’t sleep very well ever and you were out
Jax: I wanted to say good-bye to you
The Player: Yeah?
Jax: Yeah
Jax settles on her couch with a pastry and her phone. She turns her head, inhaling Cole’s lingering scent from the couch.
The Player: Re-do? So you have the chance to say good-bye
Jax: Yes!!!!!!! Be here in five minutes?????
The Player: I wish.
Jax:
The Player: I’ll call you when I get back into town. It will be later tonight.
Jax: k
The Player: Remember the best ever
Jax forces herself to put the cell down, or she’d go back and forth with him all day. Having the day off is never her friend; they always end up being the longest and most boring days of her life. She usually ends up going for a run then coming home and staring at the walls. Today, though, after her run she plans on going shopping. Yes, shopping is her least favorite activity, but she intends to look for something naughty to wear for her one re-do with Cole. Just one more time with the man won’t hurt anything.
Her phone rings, startling her, and her hopes are dashed when she sees her sister’s name on the caller ID, and not Cole’s. She doesn’t want to answer, but knows her sister will call back twenty times and then start calling the hospital for her.
“Hello?”
“Jacquelyn, you answered the first time.”
The sound of her formal name makes her cringe. Only her family members call her by it.
“Yeah, what’s up?”
She knows her sister, Carolyn, never calls because she’s interested in Jax’s life, but rather has a demand.
“Well, you, my dear, owe us a dinner. It’s that time of year to see you again.”
“When and where?”
She doesn’t even try to postpone it.
“Let’s do two Fridays from now at our normal place.”
“Okay, bye.”
“Bye, Jacquelyn, we’ll see you there.”
And by ‘we,’ Jax knows she’s referring to her hot as hell husband who also happens to be way too full of himself. The man is trapped in a loveless marriage and tied to her family for eternity; she can’t be too hard on the asshole.
Her phone rings, and this time it’s the hospital.
“Fuck, not today.”
It’s her professional responsibility to answer the phone, and when it comes right down to it, being a surgeon is her drive in life.
“Yeah?”
“Jax we need you in here.”
“On my way.”
It’s all that’s ne
eded and she’s racing off to work.

Cole stretches out on the tiny plane as it descends into L.A. It’s late and has been an extremely long day, but he’s anxious to get back to Jax. He flew home to check on the clubs and tie up some business, but before he went, he found Kam and straightened his ass out. He’s still not sure what’s going on with him. He has suspicions of drugs, but Kam’s never been the addict type.
His pilot signals him that he can turn on his phone, and he immediately types out a quick text to Jax, but gets no response as he exits the plane. He even sends a couple more on the way to the hotel and becomes a little panicked when she doesn’t respond. She seemed overeager last night and this morning via text.
His worry gets the best of him and he finally dials her number.
“Hello.”
“Hey, Doc.”
“Cole, I’m so sorry. I got called into work, and it’s a madhouse. There was a twenty-car pileup. I tried to text you back, but…”
Chaotic noise fills the background, drowning out her voice.
“I thought you were ditching my ass.”
“Never.”
“So, is there a sex room in the hospital like on Grey’s Anatomy?”
Jax laughs at his joke. “No sex room, and I’ll call as soon as I’m off. Come pick me up?”
“I’ll be there, Doc.”
“Just one more re-do, Cole.”
“Just one more.”
Cole hangs up the phone, relieved to know why Jax didn’t respond. The hotel lobby is already in full nightlife swing, with bodies scurrying everywhere. He needs a hot shower and a meal. Cole heads straight for the elevator, avoiding prying stares and women wanting his key card. But when the elevator doors open to his penthouse, he’s pissed with the party in front of him.
He really can’t be too pissed, seeing that he’s thrown his fair share of parties, but tonight he really wanted some silence to digest everything. He recognizes Dax and Birdy sitting in a corner. He’s really shocked to see them here, since they’re usually holed up in room 211. He knows his brother, Dax, is anxious about his court date and has yet to divulge all the information to Birdy. Their lawyer better work his fucking magic to get Dax off.
He grabs a beer from the counter and makes his way over to them.
