Katie is gorgeous with her baby doll looks. She has pale blonde hair and light features that doesn’t tan. Hell, she has to wear sun screen all of the time or she burns. One time I asked her what her nationality was, and she told me Northern European. Whatever that means.

Briana is Italian and her family is rumored to be in the mafia. However, that is what normally happens when someone is fresh off the boat from Italy. I don’t think her dad is a part of the mafia but then again, I’m not the best judge of character. She’s really tan with blondish brown hair that reaches her ass.

Then there’s me. Daddy and Mommy are Spanish, they were born and raised straight from Barcelona. They moved here shortly before they had me and many people like to say I’m an anchor baby, but I don’t agree. Mommy and I are average height with a Coke bottle shape, but I haven’t developed my boobs yet. We both have brown eyes with specks of gold in them that sometimes seem to glow in the dark. Our dark hair is both short in a similar fashion.

“Shush,” I whisper harshly as we creep down the stairs. It’s important that we get out before Dad can question us. I have instructed my friends that we are going to the mall to see a movie and that’s it.

  “Kennedy!”

  Crap!

“Hi, Daddy!” I sing and jump down the remaining stairs into a hug with him. He swings me around in a circle and sets me down. “One of these days I will be too big for that!”

“Never, mija. Where are you guys going?” He sets me down and then examines our outfits.

Katie and Briana stop on the stairs and examine the situation. Luckily, they are doing what I told them to do and that was to keep their mouths shut. Daddy is trained in investigating and interrogation. Hell, I can’t even think of a lie without him calling me out on it.

I smile and snuggle my head on his chest. He’s a sucker for this and I’m a Daddy’s Girl. “We’re going to see a movie. You know that new chick flick? Trainwreck. It’s supposed to be really funny!”

He reaches into his back pocket and tugs out his wallet. “Here’s a hundred. You girls have fun!”

My two friends nod their heads frantically and grin. Daddy sticks the money in my hand and tightens his arm around me. Well, that is until Nixon comes over and pushes his arm off of me.

“I’ve told you, you need to stop spoiling her! Pop, come on! She needs a job.”

Daddy kisses my forehead and squeezes me tighter. “He’s just jealous because he’s not perfect like my baby girl.”

I beam a big smile and kiss his cheek. “Thank you, Daddy.”

I watch as Nixon and Daddy walk away from us and into the room in the back. The room in the back has always been off limits for me and I can’t tell you how many times that I have tried to break into it. There’s no such luck. Daddy has it locked up tight and not even Mommy can get into it. Nixon can. But that’s because he’s a guy or something.

Briana and Katie fly down the stairs and wrap their arms around me. “I never want to leave your house! Your brother is so hot!” Katie speaks fast and squeezes me tightly.

We walk out of my house and into the new car that I got for my birthday. It’s a Lincoln Navigator that is black on black. I love it because it’s mine and mine alone, Nixon can’t take it from me. He’s tried to take away my bike that I got for my fifteenth birthday saying that it’s a man’s job to ride and a women’s place in the kitchen… ha, that is never going to happen, and he’s a big ass.

“Yeah! Your brother is sexy. Is he dating anyone?” Briana asks me as she walks around the truck. “Shotty no swiping!” She yells and jumps into the passenger seat.

I laugh and get into my seat while pushing the button to start the car. “My brother is not hot. Nixon is an asshole. Don’t let him fool you!” I say sternly and start driving through the circular driveway. “Where are we going?”

Katie grumbles in the back seat and stretches out. “Hey, I like it back here. It’s roomy!”

I giggle and pull my phone out of my purse and hook it in to my stereo so we could listen to Pandora. “I don’t know anyone here… Promise you guys are going to stick with me?” I say and pull onto the highway entrance ramp.

“Of course, girl. You know we got your back! Can we stay the night?” Katie says as she stretches.

  “Yeah, can we?!”

I think to myself for a minute and then let a big breath out. “You only want to stay the night so you can spy on Nix! You guys are gross!”

Seriously, Nix will fuck anyone and everyone. I have walked in on him having sex more often than I’ve walked in on him eating. He’s a whore but he’s my brother. I guess, he’s attractive but it’s gross to think that my two friends are going to fall for him.

“No, Kennedy! We wouldn’t do that,” Briana giggles and nudges my arm.

  “Liars!”

Katie yells and points her arm to the side of my head. “Take this exit! You can see the beach!” She squeals and jumps in her seat. Well, she has a crush on this senior who is supposed to be coming…. So, Briana and I are here as back up in case it works or doesn’t. Honestly, I think she’s nuts.

I park my car in a line of junkers and instantly feel ostentatious for having such a nice vehicle. Great. I slip out of my seat and flinch when my door shuts because everyone turns and looks at us.

Briana and Katie are dressed in short shorts with their bikini tops on so I know that they are looking at them. I try to stay blended due to my family. Everyone knows my family and it makes me nervous. I want them to like me for me and not because they’re afraid of Daddy.

  Chapter Four

  Isaac

I got divorced about two years ago. This was a situation that you never think of when you get married at eighteen. And now at the ripe age of twenty-eight, I’m a divorced single man working as a substitute teacher.

As I pull my piece of shit car into the lot of my apartment complex, I let out a shuddering breath. Being home and entering this shoebox apartment is something that I’m not really looking forward to. I don’t even have a pet. Not even fish. That is how you know I’m pathetic.

Carolyn took everything in the divorce including our three-bedroom Colonial house that my parents bought us as a wedding gift. She also took my boxer, Sadie, and my brand-new car. Since I’m broke as hell from being divorced, I couldn’t afford a new house or anything.

Until a few months ago, before I got this steady sub job, I couch surfed at all my friend’s houses. I knew it was time to move out when my buddy’s wife told me she’s tired of seeing me all of the time. Way to make me feel welcome, yeah?

I reach into the back seat and grab my briefcase that holds all of my lesson plans for the remaining week. I only have another week with the kids that have entertained me so much. Yeah, I’m going to miss them but I’m hoping that I will be able to find a full-time position now.

While walking up the three flights of stairs to my apartment, I’m looking through my texts.

  CHRIS: yo, whatcha doin tonight?

CHRIS: you better not blow me off

CHRIS: big party at the beach tonight

CHRIS: pick yo ass up at 9

CHRIS: wear somethin that doesnt make you look like mr rogers

I roll my eyes at his last comment. He’s making a reference to the fact that I have to dress conservatively to teach. Honestly, he’s a lawyer. What the hell?

After opening the door to my apartment, I look around. The walls are bare and the kitchen, living room, bedroom and dining room are all connected. There is one bathroom that is so small that I even feel claustrophobic, but this is an expensive city.

I throw my briefcase on the counter in the kitchen and shrug out of my sports coat. After taking that off, I loosen my tie and walk towards my fridge. Yeah, I need a beer. Once that’s popped open, I sit on my shitty couch and stretch out.

For the first half of my beer, I try to think of reasons why I shouldn’t go to this party. Reason one, I won’t know anyone besides Chris and he’s probably goin
g because of some chick. Reason two, I’m tired and lame. Reason three, I just don’t want to go.

My phone rings from my coat pocket and I jump up to walk the four steps to get to it. Sure enough, it’s Chris. “Yeah, I’m comin’, man.”

“Good! My sister invited us to go to the party and it’s supposed to be filled with college students! It’s time to unwrap your dick, buddy.”

I plop down on my couch and roll my eyes. “Insulting me isn’t making me want to come, dude.”

“Don’t be a pussy. Be ready in twenty. We need to swing by the liquor store and get a keg. See ya!”

See, I know better. His twenty minutes means an hour. He’s always running late, and I think that’s why he likes to be a lawyer. There he doesn’t have to be on anyone’s schedule besides his own. Since I’m a teacher, I have to be on time and can’t roll like that.

Sure enough, fifty minutes later, I hear my phone chime. Chris hates walking up the stairs, so I know he’s in his car like the lazy person that he is. I shove my feet into my shoes and do a quick check to make sure I have my keys and wallet. And when I do, I’m walking out of my apartment and down the stairs.

He’s double parked in front of the building with music blasting. This is pretty normal even though it’s frustrating as hell. I can’t stand the metal music and I find it highly annoying. Before I hop into his car, I do a quick assessment. Maybe I should just take my own car.

I slide into the seat and he claps my shoulder. “It’s about time you get out of your Mr. Rogers get up!”

“Fuck off,” I shrug his hand off of my shoulder. “Where are we going anyways?”

He starts driving and I sit in the seat with my eyes open examining the situation for what it is. Chris is the one that likes to be wild and crazy while I enjoy being mellow and having things be peaceful. Carolyn made things chaotic and I’m liking the quiet.

“My sister got invited to some beach party and I’m wanting to go to see some new chicks.”

Hooking up with girls is the last thing that I’m interested in doing. Hell, the thought of it makes my stomach turn. After my divorce, I tried to date, but I always found one reason or another to not go on a second one. Don’t get me wrong, I love women. I just am looking for something new. I want all new. “Which one of your sisters?” I ask only because he has four of them and the baby is in high school still.

He turns off the highway and points to the bonfire with excitement. “The one in college which I don’t think you met her. She’s a great catch and not for you. You try to hook up with my sister and I will cut your dick off and feed it to you.”

  “Fuck! Graphic much?”

Chris parks the car next to a nice Lincoln Navigator and I wince. Why is it that these punk kids have nicer cars than we do? I swear. The student lot at the high school is full of high-end cars and the teacher’s, well it’s all full of junkers.

As I unfold myself out of the seat, I adjust my shirt and wipe my hands on my pants. Being around a bunch of people that I don’t know makes me nervous and I’m considering leaving. Yeah, as a teacher you would think that I managed to control my social anxiety, but teaching is different. It’s a passion that I have, and I love to watch their eyes light up when they understand something new.

“All right, Isaac. Let’s go find you someone new to hook up with!”

  Chapter Five

  Kennedy

I’m watching my two friends interact with all of these people and I’m mortified that no one has come to talk to me. I guess the fact that I’m the daughter of the president of Bandito’s Motorcycle Club, the most feared and well-known gang, put a damper on my social life. They all look at me as if I’m about to pull up on my Harley (which I do have! Daddy bought it for me for my birthday) and take out my knives or something.

Seriously, people are watching too much Sons of Anarchy. Yeah, I don’t know what my dad does when he’s away on business, but I can assure you he’s not doing that bad stuff. No, he’s a good man. Except, he’s probably different when he’s gone.

Everyone seems like they are having a good time and I swallow some courage. After one look to the sky as encouragement, I walk towards Katie and Briana. I wedge myself right in between them and hope that my forwardness isn’t going to back fire. “Hey, I’m Kennedy,” I introduce myself to everyone and they give me a chin lift.

I can just imagine what they are thinking. I come from a family of savages and I am one too. But I’m not and they aren’t.

“Hey, look! There’s my brother!” Katie says and dodges his wandering eyes. She wasn’t supposed to come to this because she’s so young, but I think she loves to piss him off. I’ve only met Chris once and I sincerely doubt it that he remembers me. We are on two different planets. He’s classy and I’m bike couture.

Briana shrugs and pulls both of our hands for us to follow her. It’s weird since she’s usually not the leader. “Chris will tell my dad that I’m out at a college party and I can’t get in trouble again!”

I look back and notice that Chris is with this really cute guy. The guy has that rocker hairdo where it’s long but looks respectable and I feel the urge to dig my hands into his hair. He’s very tan, he almost looks as if he is Arabic or something since his skin is so golden. I like the way he looks and walks. It’s as if he has swagger and he knows I’m looking at him.

“Kennedy! What’re ya doing?” I’m broken out of my fantasy with this man by my friends yelling at me for my attention.

The waves are crashing into the bay and I perk up a little bit as the cold from the water hits my toes. I feel as if I have been brought back to life once the water hits me and I love it. “Can we stay here?” I ask and am met with head shakes.

“No! Come on, let’s go dance!” Briana yells and we follow behind her. “Screw it, if he’s going to rat me out, then whatever.”

There’s music that is playing from a Jeep’s stereo off to the side of the bonfire that is playing eclectic music ranging from rap to rock. Deciding that I need to stop being caught up in my own head, I join my friends and start dancing to “Anaconda” by the great Nicki Minaj. I shake my hips to the beat and put my hands in the air and wave them to the beat of the music.

We have successfully submerged ourselves into the dancing group and I’m getting caught up in the excitement of it. Here, I’m not Kennedy White the daughter of the president. No, I’m Kennedy White, a normal teenager.

I have managed to get lost in the song change from “Anaconda” to “Chop Suey” by System of the Down. My thoughts fade away and I slide into a bliss of being with two friends who don’t judge me or treat me like the daughter of a savage.

I move and roll my hips to the beat and then I feel someone’s hands on my hips. Startled, I stop and look over my shoulder at the man who came in with Chris. He smirks and a side dimple appears through his goatee that is perfectly trimmed. I smile shyly and he pulls my hips closer to his groin and I look at his face more. “Want to dance?” His silky and velvety voice caresses my skin.

  Chapter Six

  Isaac

Chris and I have walked through the whole bonfire and I can’t keep my eyes off this girl who screams innocence. Maybe it’s the fact that I just went through a divorce with an evil whore, but this girl is keeping me interested.

She’s wearing this long dress that clings to these delicious, fuck me hips and an ass that begs me to bite it. I feel like a shark on the prowl as I approach her and grip her hips.

The girl is probably just eighteen and I’m hoping she’s not jail bait because that would suck donkey dick. “Yes, I would love to.” Her voice is sweet and chocolatey as it coats my ears and I just want to eat her alive.

I pull her closer to me and we start dancing in a dirty rhythm. After “Chop Suey” is “GDFR” and she dances closes to me. I start tucking my head into her neck and singing the words to her and since I’m so close, I don’t miss the shivers.

“You come here with anyone?” I ask against her
ear and I run my hands along her sides. In order to tease her some more, I stop right underneath her breasts.

She shakes her head and I bite carefully along her earlobe. “No, you?”

  “No, my baby. I didn’t.”

Where the hell did that nickname come from? I have never been one for terms of endearments, but it fit her perfectly. I’m not a tall man and she’s not a short woman, but we mold well together and I’m digging it.

  “I’m Kennedy. What’s your name?”

Everything about this girl is cute. I want to eat her alive. She’s got the sweetest little voice and the fucking cutest name ever. I should leave her alone. Something about her screams dangerous but I want her. She’s like my magnet. “Isaac.”

Her hands are resting on top of mine that are slung tightly around her waist, but I want them around my neck as well. I lightly tug them, so they are tight around my neck. “Perfect. Now, you are exactly how I want you.”

“Maybe I want to be this close to you,” she whispers into my ear.

  “Oh, my baby. Be careful.”

The song changes to “Whatdoya Want From Me” by Adam Lambert and she dances closer to me. I actually know this song because my sister, Joy, was obsessed with it and I started singing it in her ear. I’m not the best singer but I felt her become putty in my hands.

We dance like this for the whole song and then at the end of it, I spin her around and look at the biggest and more beautiful brown eyes I have ever saw.

“Is that how you feel?” Kennedy asks and looks at me as if she is looking through me.

Noticing that I have become very vulnerable, I shake it off but before I do, I know she can see it. What the hell have I done? I’ve given it all away to her and now she knows more than I wanted her to. I hope she doesn’t know how lonely I am and how much I might need her.
