She drew her bottom lip in between her teeth. “I’m glad you feel that way. Being that it’s been so long and all, I haven’t reached my limits.” She wiggled her brows.

“Yeah?” Relief washed over him. He was more than happy to go as long as his body could perform. The way it was reacting, he was getting the feeling that could be a few more times.

“Oh yeah. And there’s something I want to do—a craving I have.” A naughty glint filled her eyes.

He found someone as freaky as him. “I like the sound of that.” His cock came fully alive and bobbed against his stomach.

She batted her lashes. “I’d like to return the favor.” She whimpered and dipped to her knees.

He eased back, stretching his arms across the ceramic tiles. “I won’t argue. I’m already rock hard.”

“Yes, you are.” She looked up at his body through the veil of her long lashes. His chest did funny things.

“Tell me, DJ, do you want my mouth on you?”

  “Hell yeah!” His dick tingled.

She touched her fingers to his sex, then her lips to his head. His clenched teeth drowned his moan. His head was still fuzzy from being in her tight pussy and it didn’t take long before he was lightheaded. The water slid down his body as she stroked his length with her fingers and her mouth.

He leaned his head back against the cold wall, closed his eyes as flashes swirled behind his lids. “Yes, baby. So good.”

She worked his cock, sucking him—gently running her teeth along his head. Her hands grasped his balls, kneading the sacs.

The woman was a sexual vixen. He’d had blowjobs before, but none that felt quite this good—it had everything to do with the woman who was sucking him between her beautiful lips.

His mind turned to mush as his blood pumped like a pounding jackhammer. Her sweet poison dripped through his veins like a shot of endorphins. He could have run a mile with the energy rushing through him.

Parts of him that he didn’t even know existed twitched and tightened. Electrical spasms darted up his spine. Blazing ropes grasped his balls as she continued to stroke him, licking the slit at his tip, then diving her mouth over his shaft.

White light flashed through his eyes as his balls tensed, then came the heat spreading upward in his cock.

He lifted his head and watched her drink him in.

“Oh, fuck!” He’d never seen anything better.

Once the spasms left his body, she stood up and swiped the back of her hand across her mouth. “Yum.”

“That was something, Pearl.” He felt like melted putty, standing before her in awe. Every muscle was weak and his toes were still curled. An invisible tail wagged between his butt cheeks. He couldn’t feel the water as it splashed his body. He’d emptied so quick that he was left in a bit of shock.

“Wash my back, cowboy?” She held out soap for him.

“My pleasure.” He took the bar and rubbed her back. Her skin became slick as he rolled his hands to her bottom, slipped his fingers between her cheeks to the puckered skin. He swirled his pinky around the tight opening and she pressed her hands flat against the wall, lifting her ass high. Allowing the water to rinse the soap from her and his hand, he put the soap back in the container and returned his hand to her awaiting bottom.

Lowering his mouth to her neck, he kissed the wet skin while using his hands to spread her cheeks slightly. Sliding the tip of his pinky into the puckered skin, she groaned deep in her chest. Her body eased and he slipped his digit in a little further, but careful not to go too far.

“Has anyone ever touched you here before me?” he whispered next to her ear.

She gave her head a quick shake, sending damp tendrils of hair slapping across his chest and face. He nibbled her ear lobe and she trembled. “Would you like my finger deeper?”

  “Yes.” She trembled.

He did as she requested. He slid his finger to the first knuckle. She rolled her hips, riding his fingers. Her heavy breathing told him she liked having her backside played with and he was happy to oblige.

“I can think of many more things I’d like to do with you in the shower…and outside of the shower. Wonder if we can manage before time is up?”

His heart lurched. Why did he have to go and ruin things by mentioning time and the inevitable?

As Pearl followed the gravel driveway from the cabin to the house, she felt a sense of distance. She could see a new expression on DJ’s face and it made her wonder if he regretted what they’d shared.

She was still reeling from a dozen orgasms and she didn’t want to allow any harsh feelings to take away her euphoria.

What they shared at the cabin had been unique and wonderful. DJ was a true gentleman and she’d seen that in the gentle way he’d touched her. And he had a romantic bone, although he didn’t think so. She liked it—a lot. There weren’t many other men who’d think about a fire and candles when he was about to get laid. But DJ had.

Her body warmed. He’d touched her in places, kissed her in places no one had explored before. She’d wanted more but as the sun dropped in the evening sky DJ had pulled away and was ready to go.

She watched him walk ahead. His head was down and his shoulders were tight. She wondered what he was thinking.

  “DJ?”

He stopped and looked over his shoulder. “Yes?”

“I thought what we shared was great.” Her bottom lip trembled.

  He nodded. “It was.”

  “Then why are you brooding?”

  “I’m not brooding.”

She sighed and covered the distance between them. “Sure seems like you’re disappointed.”

The area between his brows wrinkled. “No, Pearl. Never.” He tugged her close and brought his lips to hers, kissing her with latent intensity. When he pulled back, some of the tightness had left his jaw.

She searched his expression as she wrapped her arms around his middle, not ready to end the hug.

But when the sprinkles of rain started, she knew they had to move into the house—unless they could have a repeat of earlier.

“The truck is back.” DJ pointed his head toward the driveway.

  “The truck? What truck?”

  “Nash’s truck.”

Fitting enough, the sky opened up and another downpour came.

DJ grabbed her hand and they raced toward the house, kicking up water with their shoes, until they reached the porch.

They stepped into the house and followed the noises coming from the kitchen.

Nash was standing at the counter, peanut butter in one hand and a knife in the other.

He looked a lot like DJ, but with shorter hair and leaner shoulders.

He turned, knife held high in the air. “There you two are. Get caught in the rain?” Nash’s eyes twinkled. They were a pale blue.

Pearl liked him. She’d always gotten along with the youngest brother, although they didn’t know each other well enough to be considered friends. But when Nash dropped the knife and strolled toward her, licking his fingers, his smile didn’t show any signs that she was practically a stranger. “Howdy, darlin’.” He held out his hand and Pearl shook it, feeling the calluses on his palm. “So you shot my brother in the ass? That’ll be a story we’ll share every holiday, I’m sure.” Nash thumped DJ on the shoulder.

“I’m sorry you had to leave your trip early, Nash,” Pearl said.

He shrugged and his red plaid shirt tightened on his wide shoulders. “Ahh…I didn’t mind one bit. Besides the pretty ladies and good looking horses, there wasn’t much happening.” Nash went back to preparing his sandwich.

“That seems like quite a lot.” Pearl crossed her arms over her chest. Would DJ want her to leave now that Nash had come?

“Don’t let him fool you, Pearl. He couldn’t wait to come back to poke fun at me for getting shot. He wants to change the bandage.” DJ laughed.

Nash’s gaze narrowed. “No, I’m not here to change your bandage, bro.
That ain’t happening. I’m here to take up your slack.” Nash dropped the knife into the sink and took a large bite from his sandwich.

“Well, as far as the agreement, I still have a few more days left on my nursing contract.” Pearl noticed how DJ looked at her, curious. Did he think she’d be packing and leaving as fast as her feet could carry her? Her breath caught. She’d been so against coming here, and now why didn’t she want to leave? If she investigated too closely she might not like what she found.

But two Walters cowboys under one roof?

This would be a very interesting next few days.

  Chapter Seven

DJ heard the clanking of dishes in the kitchen. “What are you doing, Pearl?”

“Give me a minute!” she called.

He leaned back in his chair and rubbed his neck. He was grateful she’d decided to stay after Nash came home. He wasn’t sure how he would have taken her leaving right after their lovemaking.

He knew she’d leave soon, it was bound to happen, but he hoped to prolong the unavoidable as long possible.

He saw a flash of light and looked up as Pearl came into the living room carrying a cupcake topped with a lit candle. She brought it to the coffee table and set it in front of him.

  “What’s this all about?”

“Really? Are you going to act surprised? Why didn’t you tell me today is your birthday?”

He smiled and shrugged. “I guess because it’s no big deal. Nash tell you?” She nodded. “Thank you. It’s nice you thought of me.” Since yesterday in the cabin, he’d done what he could to keep his distance, but her thoughtfulness made his wall crumble some.

She held out two forks, handing him one. “You don’t mind sharing do you?”

  “Not at all.”

“First you have to make a wish and blow out your candle.” She plopped next to him on the couch. Her eyes were glowing in the golden light.

Hell, there were tons of wishes he could make. He wanted to get his own place built soon. Get a loan to build more cabins maybe. Instead, he went with a wish that came out of nowhere. In one breath, he blew out the flame.

“What did you wish for?” She clasped his elbow.

“If I tell you it won’t come true.” Probably wouldn’t anyway, but a cowboy could hope.

“Okay. I won’t pry.” She laughed.

  My God, she was glowing.

  His heart took a hit.

What the hell was wrong with him?

He pulled the candle from the cake and licked the chocolate icing from the wax. He dug his fork into the dessert and brought it toward her. “The baker gets the first bite.”

She closed her mouth around the fork and he pulled the utensil away. Chewing, she delicately wiped the corners of her mouth and it triggered something wild inside of him. His cock did a dance in his pants and the zipper confined his parts. He shifted.

Her gaze dropped to his thighs. “Something wrong?” She shook her head.

“Not wrong, but very, very right.” He forked another bite of cake and ate it. The confection practically melted in his mouth. “Did you make this?”

“Yes. There are more. I thought we’d share with Nash.” Her eyes sparkled.

DJ grumbled. He was still upset that his brother had shown up, but Nash would be out late on the land. “You’re spoiling me. Steak, mashed potatoes, rolls and now this delicious dessert. A man could get used to this.” Did her gaze narrow a bit?

“I’ll be leaving soon.” Did he catch a quiver in her tone? Or was that his heart cracking?

“Uh-huh.” He stuffed his mouth with another bite.

“What does uh-huh mean?” She lifted a brow.

What was she fishing for exactly? “Well, that was part of the bargain. You stay as long as needed and then leave. Right?” Don’t let your wall crumble.

“Yes, that’s right.” Her shoulders slumped some. He gave her another bite and she chewed.

  “An agreement is an agreement.”

She pushed a lock of her hair behind her ear. “I wanted to tell you why I was angry with you over the years.”

He sighed. This should be good. “Why I became the target of your animosity?”

“After you and I kissed…you know, behind the barn…I expected to hear from you again, but you disappeared. Not even an explanation. I mean, I realize we weren’t a couple but a girl expects a man who kisses her like you did me to at least come and see her before he leaves town.” She played with the hem of her shirt.

He watched her slender fingers move over the material. “I’m sorry about that, Pearl. I was young and had my focus on the future.” No way could he tell her that he’d wanted to see her again, but his feelings had scared him.

“That’s no way to treat a girl.” She moistened her lips.

“You’re right.” He reached for her, pulling her close.

“But let’s not think about the past. Let’s enjoy every minute we have.” She stood up and grabbed his hand. “Think we can get kinky before Nash comes in?”

He jumped off the couch. “I think we’ll get the privacy we deserve. Nash will be asleep as soon as his head hits his pillow.”

  ****

Ten minutes later, they were both stripped of their clothes and Pearl was crawling into bed, patting the spot beside her. “Don’t make me wait, cowboy.” She used her most seductive voice.

He climbed in next to her and he was barely under the sheet when she was pushing him back onto the pillow. “Hmm. Feeling frisky, huh?” He chuckled.

“I’m feeling horny. Must have been the chocolate cake.” She kissed his jaw, his neck, downward across his six-pack. His breath caught. “And by the looks of things,” she skimmed the tips of her fingers across his full erection. “You are too.”

“I always am around you.” His words vibrated his chest.

She licked his hipbone. “Then we shouldn’t waste one second.”

“I’m going to be honest here. I’ve never had a woman in my bed. You’re the first.”

She looked up his body and met his gaze. A big piece of her heart melted. “Aww…I feel special.” And she meant it.

“Well, when a man is living at home he doesn’t get to bring chicks back to his bachelor pad. I mean, I could have, but I would have my brothers acting like childish idiots. That doesn’t impress the ladies.”

His confession made her smile. Most women probably wouldn’t like a man who lived at home, even when he looked this good. But she realized his circumstances were different. He wasn’t freeloading, but he had a plan in the mix. He ran a business. He was successful and the living-at-home aspect wouldn’t last long. He had plans to build his own house. Not that it mattered to her. After she’d mentioned she would be leaving soon, he shrugged it off as unimportant.

She wrapped her fingers around his girth and led the tip to her mouth. She licked the pearl of pre-cum from the slit and he shivered. “Now this is a birthday I’ll never forget.”

“That’s my intention.” She closed her mouth over his sex and suckled him to the back of her throat. She wished her mouth was bigger so she could get all of him at once. She swirled her tongue around his purple head, and pumped her fists around him. His body tensed.

“Darlin’, as much as I love a good blowjob, I want to sink myself into you.” He reached down, cupped his hands under her arms and tugged her up on the bed until she was beside him.

She moaned when he sank his finger deep into her body, then joined it with another digit. She spread her legs wide, giving him full access to her core. He magically brought her to the edge, withdrew his fingers, and she barely registered that he was pulling on a condom before he buried himself inside of her.

Tingles splashed through her as she clutched his shoulders, hanging on as he rode her wildly—fiercely—like a starving man.

It wasn’t long before they succumbed to complete satisfaction.

  Chapter Eight

“Truth or dare cards. Ever played?”

  DJ l
ooked over his turkey sandwich at Pearl who was holding a deck of playing cards. “No.” He took another bite from his half-eaten sandwich, chewed and tossed the remainder in the trashcan. Seeing her in the tight tank top and cut off jean shorts made him want to eat something else.

“Let’s play.” She dropped down into one of the chairs at the table.

“Why?” He came up from behind her and lifted her hair up, kissing her neck. She smelled like sugar cookies.

“So we can get to know each other better.” She giggled when he nibbled on her collarbone.

“We’ve gotten to know a lot about each other here lately.”

“Please?” She looked up at him through her lashes.

He wouldn’t have told her no if his life depended on it. Grabbing the chair next to her, he straddled it, relaxing his arms over the back. “Tell me the rules.”

“We each get a stack of cards. We lay down one at a time, and whoever has the lowest card each move must choose truth or dare.” She separated the stack of cards and handed him one.

DJ had never been into playing games, but if it meant he could stare at her longer he was all for it.

She laid one card down. A Jack. He laid his. A nine. “I won!” She lit up. “Truth or dare?”

“Truth.” He didn’t have anything to hide.

“Have you changed your mind about healthier eating choices since I’ve been here?”

He laughed. “I’m not against healthy eating, but can’t say I’m ready to give up meat and potatoes.”

“Fair enough. Let’s go again.” They played their card at the same time. She had a two and he had a Queen. “I guess I choose truth.”

Rubbing his palms together, he thought over his question carefully. “When we were kids, behind the barn, you told me you had a crush on me. Were you telling the truth?”

One corner of her mouth twitched. “I had a bad crush on you.”

Cards went down and he won again. “I’m beginning to like this game. Truth or dare?”

She sat back, folding her arms over her waist. “I’m going to live a little. Dare.”
