Be My Reason

“Yes.” I smile and raise an eyebrow at my strong, incredible man. “But there will be ground rules.”

  The End

  Acknowledgments

The writing of this book was the result of an epiphany. Maybe it was my age. Maybe it was the stay-at-home mom in me wondering if I would leave a legacy other than the four children I am raising. Maybe it took getting out that piece of paper to write my bucket list. But, whatever it was . . . it couldn’t have come at a better time in my life.

The journey to create this novel was surreal. Twenty years ago, I wanted to become a writer. It was a pipe dream, a fantasy; something only other people could do. And now, here I sit writing acknowledgments that will appear in the back of my—my— published work.

I have to thank the endless support of my editors, Jeannie Hinkle and Ann Peters. If it weren’t for the hours upon end that you corrected my grammar and punctuation, this novel would not have been worthy to be published. Thank you to my beta readers Stephanie Smith and Lisa Crawford, whose input and support carried me through when I was ready to set my manuscript on fire.

Most of all, I need to thank my family. My four children have grown up rather quickly during all of this. My younger ones have learned all the intricacies of microwave cooking due to the endless supply of frozen meals I’ve bestowed upon them over the past several months. My older children have baby-sat, carpooled and mediated adolescent arguments more than should be required of young adults.

My husband has intimate knowledge of every fast food place within twenty miles of our house. Honey, for you to work as hard as you do and come home to an empty kitchen, never to complain—I’ll never be able to thank you enough. Having a husband who will allow me to follow any dream, no matter how ludicrous it seems, is the main reason I am who I am today. Bruce, you are and will always . . . be my reason.

  About the Author
