“Pay attention, the meat’s ready to go on the grill.” Torben shot a sympathetic look at Dov; he knew where his mind had been. The same place he’d been fighting so hard to keep his mind from going, to Ellie’s sweet curves and tonight when they’d finally see them sans clothing.

“I’m going, Ellie wanna join me?” Dov leaned his head toward the door. His hands full of meat, sauces, and charcoal.

“Sure.” Ellie grabbed a lighter and some water.

Dov used a chimney stored in the garage to get the fire started without lighter fluid. It wasn’t necessary, but it made the meat taste better. He covered the steaks in a dry rub, after hitting them repeatedly with a meat mallet. Ellie laughed when he seemed to get way too much enjoyment out of tenderizing the steaks.

“I think it’s dead already, Dov.”

“Sure, you say that now, but think about how that steak will melt in your mouth when I’m done.” He was thinking of Ellie melting in his mouth when she licked her lips.

“Okay, you won me over. What can I do to help?” The fire was starting to smoke within the chimney.

“Nothing much, Ellie, just sit there and give me something to look at.” Dov actually winked at her! Ellie blushed before giggling nervously. All her bears were handsome, but when they turned on the charm, she turned into a puddle of goo.

  “There’s nothing I can do?”

“Sing for me.” Dov laid the supplies out on the patio set and smiled at Ellie, before grabbing her hips and sitting her up on it too.

“What do you want me to sing?”

“Anything, just let me hear your voice.” Dov brushed a lock of her hair behind her ear.

“Okay…” Ellie sang a pop ballad. It was a sweet song about falling in love for the first time. She sang it with her boys in mind, every word tugging at her heart. When the song wound down, Dov turned to dump the coals into the grill, checking the heat, before adding the steaks.

“That was beautiful.” He kissed her gently, careful to keep his meaty hands from touching her.

“Can you watch the steaks while I wash my hands?”

She hopped off the table. “Sure.”

Dov wasn’t gone a minute or two before a couple of coals shifted, and fire fanned over the steaks.

“Dov! Dov! Torben? Mathin!” Ellie looked around for a fork, but Dov must have been holding it when he went inside. She started to panic when Mathin poked his head out. “Mathin the steaks! They’re burning.”

Mathin did the unthinkable; he reached his bare hand into the flames, pulling the steaks to the other side of the grill. “Shit, that’s hot.”

“What the hell? Are you okay?” Ellie tugged his hand to her. “Why would you do that?”

She watched as the burned flesh healed itself right before her eyes. “What the? So you guys do heal fast…” Ellie examined both sides of his hand, unable to reconcile the pink flesh she saw with her own eyes.

“Sweetie, I knew I would heal, we always do. You wondered why Dov ran away when he cut himself…”

“Wait, if he ran away because he was healing, how did he still have a cut when I looked at him?”

Mathin shuffled his shoes, looking back at the house. “Um…”

“Just tell me, please?” Ellie batted her eyes, sticking her bottom lip out for effect. It worked on her father, why not her bears?

“Shit, okay. Dov’s hand healed before you’d even walked away. He picked up the shard of glass, and stuck it back in his hand…deeper than before, so it would still be there when you came back.” Mathin cringed as Ellie’s face turned white.

“What?” Her screech could be heard echoing through the trees. Dov and Torben came running.

“Did you really cut yourself just so I could treat you?” Ellie asked Dov with tears in her eyes.

“Don’t be mad Sweetie, it healed quickly. I can stand a bit of pain.” Dov pulled her to his chest, holding her close to his heart. “I’m alright, Ellie…it’s okay.”

“But, you were hurt because of me.”

“Look at my hand, there’s not even a scar.” Ellie couldn’t see past the memory of the cut on his hand. Dov’s eyes drew desperate as he watched her stare vacantly. He crushed his lips to hers, roaming his hands across her back; he growled as he thrust his tongue into her mouth. She tasted so sweet, and she was so willing. He longed for midnight.

Dov and Ellie didn’t notice the other guys drifting back into the house; they were too enthralled by the feel of their arms wrapped around one another. Ellie got lost in Dov’s brown eyes when she came up for air, but she didn’t have long to enjoy them. His lips claimed hers more deeply than before, branding her with his touch. “Ellie, baby. I want to touch you, can I?” She moaned against his mouth, nodding her head slightly, as she angled in for another kiss. Dov wrapped one arm underneath her bottom, lifting her, bringing her to his eye level. He stared at her rising chest, the motion fast with the pace of her heavy breaths. He slid his other hand slowly, so slowly, toward her chest—he didn’t want to scare her. As he inched along, Ellie arched her back, giving him better access.

Gently, he eased his hand over one breast. She felt perfect, filling his large hand with her soft curves. He didn’t move. He didn’t trust himself; he just enjoyed touching her intimately. He licked her lip, placing sweet kisses along the seam, trailing down to her jaw and over her neck. He sucked on a sweet spot in the hollow just before her shoulder. The sizzle of the grill brought him to his senses; he was going to burn dinner if he didn’t pull himself away.

They would have all night to explore each other’s bodies, all week even. For now, he needed to stop. Dov slid his hands back to her spine, lightening his kisses, allowing Ellie to resurface from the haze of want and need that claimed her.

  “Oh, Dov…”

“I know, don’t worry baby, I’ll take care of you, but right now I need to finish dinner.” Ellie nodded absently. Mathin appeared behind Dov, ready to turn the steaks. He’d sneaked back out to save the food. “Thanks, Mathin.”

“You’re welcome, but I propose a trade…” Mathin motioned to Ellie with the barbeque fork. Knowing he needed to share, Dov lifted Ellie and placed her in Mathin’s arms.

“Hey there sweetie, looks like Dov got you all warmed up for me.” Mathin wasn’t wearing a shirt; Ellie realized through the lust crowding her vision. His muscles rippled along his front, and molded his back. Tentatively, she reached out a hand to caress his tight planes. “Sweetheart, I’ll give you all night to stop that.” Mathin didn’t tease or play when he kissed her this time. He thrust his tongue into her mouth to taste her. While Dov was broody and passionate, Mathin was excitable and adventurous.

He slid his hand along the top of her jean shorts, dipping his fingers slightly, just enough to tease her. His lips moved gently, but firmly over hers again and again. Her breath came in quick pants when he broke the kiss to bite her lip. “Ellie, I can’t wait till the final ceremony, I want to explore every inch of your body with my tongue.” Ellie moaned against his neck, even his words pushed her further into oblivion. The smell of dinner reached his hungry stomach, which reacted with a growl loud enough to break the spell Ellie was under.

She pulled back trying to clear her thoughts. “Hungry bear, huh?”

“Hungry for you, but I guess I’ll have to settle for steak.” He nipped at her lips before setting her on her feet, careful to be sure she was steady before he backed away.

“Is it ready?” Torben brought the plates and utensils outside. “We might as well take advantage of the beautiful night.” Only, Torben wasn’t looking anywhere but at Ellie. Her swollen lips beckoned him, but the food was growing cold.

“I know what is ready.” Mathin laughed as Ellie’s face turned beat red.

Torben took Ellie’s plate and filled it for her. “Alright, give our girl some air.” Mathin brought out the mashed potatoes they’d finished for Ellie. He had managed to sneak the corn on and off of the grill without Ellie and Dov ever even not
icing.

Oops, guess I didn’t do my part. “Sorry guys, I meant to help out more.”

“You’re helping plenty.” Torben growled low in his throat. He could feel it; they all could. Mating season was here, and their bodies were more than happy to play along, especially with their lovely Ellie looking so sweet and tasty.

While they ate, the guys stared at Ellie. She pretended she didn’t notice, but their heated glances were causing her some discomfort—her panties were soaked. Every move she made was tracked by the guys. Even after dinner, when they decided to play volleyball, the guys took every chance to bump into her. They pulled her against their chests to save her from a wayward projectile or managed to brush against her in pursuit of the ball. Ellie was starting to wonder if they could smell her arousal; it wouldn’t be hard to believe. She’d hidden things from them when they were kids, but they always managed to sniff them out with their incredible sense of smell. After all, there was a reason you hid food when you camped in the woods.

“Ellie, Sweetie, let’s take a break.” Torben called after a half an hour of sweaty, lusty volleyball.

  “Okay.” She panted.

“How are you holding up, Sweetheart?” Dov rubbed her back.

“I’m soaked, but otherwise I’m good.” It took Ellie a minute to realize what she’d said. She expected the normal joke from Mathin, but instead she got the unexpected. Mathin stared at her with a burning flame behind his eyes. Dov sat on the ground at her feet as Torben approached her from behind.

Her sweet, calm Torben looked like a storm was brewing behind his eyes. “Ellie, there’s a secret I’ve been dying to tell you all night…”

Ellie’s mind raced, but she couldn’t catch her thoughts. What was he talking about again?

Mathin scented the air. He must have liked what he smelled; he licked his lips slowly.

“Ellie, Sweetie, are you hot in that tee?” Dov stared at her shirt like he could see right through it. The fabric was a bit transparent, but she’d worn a white tank underneath for modesty.

“Yes.” Ellie felt emboldened with her werebears eyes on her, slowly she lifted the bottom of her shirt and eased it over her head. Torben reached out to take the top, but after a quick smell, he passed it to Mathin in favor of the real thing. He didn’t even look behind him; he just shoved it in Mathin’s waiting hands.

“Baby, come here.” Torben had been waiting all night to taste her. He gently pressed his lips to hers, so far gone—he didn’t even care that his cousins were still nearby. Ellie opened her lips, easing her tongue into Torben’s mouth, causing a rumble of appreciation deep in his chest.

Ellie fought to clear her thoughts, but she couldn’t find purchase. “Torben, what was it you wanted to tell me?” Her mind was too willing to abandon everything in favor of what her bears could do for her, to her.

“In a minute…” Torben slid his hand beneath her panties to grab her bare ass. He reveled in the feel of her soft skin; she was made for him—for them. He took her mouth so gently, but insistently. Giving her no time to collect her thoughts, he wanted her half mad with desire by midnight. They had planned this perfectly, the food, the foreplay. All of it was a careful dance to ease the pain of mating for their sweet Ellie.

“No…oh! Um, Torben, you better tell me now…before I forget how to talk.” Ellie moaned so loud she missed Torben’s response. “What was that?”

“Ellie, tonight is very special…you might have noticed how wet you’re becoming…”

“Uh...” Ellie’s thoughts began to clear, even as his words caused a new rush of moisture between her thighs.

Dov grew impatient, and he stood. He pulled Torben to the side, giving Ellie more valuable time to pull herself together. She squeezed her thighs tight, even the sound of their voices so low, so deep, was pushing her further toward the edge. She didn’t know what would happen if she fell, but she knew it wouldn’t be long before she found out. Ellie whimpered from need, which brought three very attentive bears to her side. Mathin kissed her lips, while Torben caressed her stomach, lifting her tank top lightly to reach her bare flesh. Dov stood behind her pressing his hard body tight against her. Torben’s hand slipped lower to the seam of her shorts, down…way down, before drifting back up to tug on the button holding the denim in place.

“Sweetheart, it’s a special night like Torben said, do you know why?” Ellie shook her head in between kisses, but Dov waited. It was clear he wanted to hear her say it. Mathin lifted his lips, licking the taste of her off his own. He was dying to plunge back into her softness, but held off so she could answer.

Ellie stared into Mathin’s eyes, but spoke to Dov. “No, why?”

Dov traced a path of kisses up her neck to the base of her skull. Torben had managed to free the button from the tiny hole and was lowering the zipper to her shorts. Mathin opened her mouth to pull moans from deep within her. Dov rewarded her obedience by sliding his hand under her top and cupping her bare, full breasts in his large, warm hands.

He warmed her inner ear with his breath, as Torben tugged her panties down low enough to reach her core. She unraveled a little when he touched her there, but Mathin wouldn’t let her scream. He kept her still for his pleasure by holding both sides of her face. As the tension mounted between her legs, Mathin matched his tongue thrusts to the movement of Torben’s hand. Dov caressed her breasts, pulling on her tender nipples. I can’t take much more. She growled into Mathin’s mouth, but it only encouraged the beautiful torture to increase. Dov waited till she was on the cusp of coming before pulling hard on both her nipples.

“It’s mating season, and tonight you’re ours.” Ellie’s eyes went wide. Dov threw her over the edge with his words and his clever hands. Torben removed his fingers, and she came on his tongue, with Mathin sucking the sweetness from her eager mouth. It was mating season, and they were her clever bears.

  Epilogue

Ellie got her wish, she was mated to all three of her guys, though thankfully not all at once. After they’d pleasured her in tandem, they completed the ceremony in the meadow individually. By the time the ceremony was over, Ellie was tired, sore, and euphoric, but her bears were only getting warmed up. Maybe I should start stretching? Or maybe take up yoga?

Ran had taken to sending Ellie daily emails, much of the time he tried to persuade her to visit his werebear community. He quite shamelessly ignored his son and nephews’ decision on the matter, doing everything in his power to lure Ellie to them. He wanted grandbabies and he wanted them soon, but Ellie was firm. Instead of ignoring him, she used the contact to learn more about her bears and their place in the world. She reminded Ran of her promise to visit them eventually, but she had no qualms with putting that trip off until she was done with college. She was not about to get pregnant, and they had other things to worry about like whose bed she would sleep in each night. Ellie offered to make a schedule until they got a place of their own—when they could revisit the idea of sharing a room.

The two weeks went by quickly, and Julia returned home. The newly mated werebears had fallen into a routine with their mate. They were making final decisions on a house to rent while Ellie was still in school and almost ready to sign a contract with their chosen builders in Cedar Gap. They had agreed to wait until Julia returned before signing any legal documents, as their foster mother, they all wanted her approval. Julia was happy to look over the contracts for them and was thrilled to hear how close they’d be living once Ellie got her undergrad diploma. The only hang up would be Bradley, Ellie’s father.

Or so they thought, it turned out Julia had only stayed with her fellow veterinarian for a day or two, after that she took a trip to see her son-in-law...

“No. My answer is and always will be no.”

“She’s going to marry someday, you can’t keep her a little girl forever.” Julia planted her hands on her hips, ready to do battle...again. They’d been arguing for a week, she was slowly wearing him down.

  “She’s not ol
d enough, for one. They haven’t known each other long enough for two, and three…well I can’t think of a three, but I’m sure it’d be damn good!”

Julia titled her head to look at the ceiling, picturing her sweet daughter with this bear of a man. “Bradley, I let you separate me from my granddaughter for too damn long. If you think I’m gonna watch you spoil her chance at happiness, you’ve got another thing comin’.”

  “I’m her father.”

“And I’m her grandmother! At least meet the man, his name’s Torben, and he’s a really good kid. He’d walk through fire for her…” Not that it would burn him.

“He’s one of the boys you raised?”

“For the millionth time, yes, since he was four. If you recall I raised your wife, and you thought she was good enough to marry.” Julia arched a brow.

Bradley sat down, his face drawn tight, his hair a mess from running his fingers through it repeatedly. “Damn it. You’ve got me there, I’ll give the boy a chance.”

“Good and don’t be too hard on Ellie, she’s a good girl.”

  “I know, I raised her.”

Julia couldn’t suppress a doubtful look, but allowed a small grin to play across her lips. Ellie’s right, once you work the fight out of him, he’s all pussycat.

Bradley sighed loudly, lifting his head to give Julia a look that was more grimace than smile. He eyed her through the bangs that remained hanging halfway over his eyes. Pulling a picture of Ellie off the side table, he stared longingly at the image of his sweet little girl, her face still rounded with baby softness.

He pulled his lips into a tight line and swallowed harshly, moving his tongue around like a foul taste filled his mouth. “So when’s the wedding?”
