“I’m yours.� She was breathing hard. I was too, after our kiss. We needed to get back, and we needed to get naked.
She took my hand and started to run, pulling me behind her and laughing. I grinned as we tore through the empty hallways, feeling as free as I did when I was flying.

Priya tugged at my top, and I raised my arms so she could remove it. She shook her head. “How can a guy like you want me?� she whispered, dropping her eyes. “I’m a nobody.�
“Priya.� I lifted her chin and forced her to look at me. “You’re somebody to me.� She shrugged one beautiful, smooth-skinned shoulder. I wanted to kiss it, but I knew I needed to reassure her.
She went on. “It’s not just that you’re a prince. Guys who look like you usually don’t even know I exist.�
“They’re a bunch of idiots. We may be two fools together, but nothing has ever felt as right to me as we do.�
She nodded. “I feel the same way.�
“And stop talking nonsense. There’s only one guy like me, and he loves you.� I couldn’t prevent myself from bending over to kiss her shoulder.
I stared into her eyes again. She had her black eyes fixed on me, never wavering and drinking up every word I said.

I gazed at her. She was perfect for me. “I’ll be back in a few minutes. Hold on, love.�
“Are you sure you want to do this?� She held me tightly to her.
“I don’t want to. I have to.� I pressed my forehead to hers. “Let me go. I’ll be back soon.�
She pursed her lips and stepped back. I pulled on my underwear again and passed through the door into the cold darkness. Deploying my wings seemed to be less painful than usual. Priya provided a welcome distraction.

I stared into her eyes, begging her to accept me the way I was. I was tired of trying to be someone else so other people could be happy.
When she whispered to me, it was like she could read my mind. “You’re perfect. You don’t need to be anything but yourself for me, Allex.�
I kissed her forehead reverently, wishing I could tell her everything I felt. There was too much to explain. I needed to show her.
“Take these off.� She tugged on my underwear until we were both naked again.
I held both of her hands in mine. “I know we haven’t been together very long, but I feel as if I’ve known you forever. I don’t know what I would do without you. I love you. And no matter what life throws at us, I promise to stand by your side. We may stumble, and we may fall, but I promise we will work it out.� Tears shone in her eyes as I went on. “I won’t let anything come between us. I promise to take care of you and our children. Will you take me as your husband?�
“I will.�
PRIYA
It wasn’t an official wedding, but it seemed real enough. My legs began to shake as Allex said his vows to me.
“Allex, I’ve been alone for a long time. You seem like you’re out of my league.�
He looked unhappy. “Don’t say things like that anymore, Priya.� He captured my lips and kissed me senseless for a long time.
I managed to say something when we came up for air. “Well, it’s true.� I felt a little dazed. “But I also see you.�

“Yes, that’s right.� His eyes burned into me.

Priya vanished.
I heard the sounds of fighting as I scrambled and made it over to the door. I threw it open and rushed out, stopping in my tracks at what I saw in the corridor before me. A pirate lay motionless on the floor. Priya’s arm looked injured. She had one hand over it and was moaning in pain. A fierce, red-haired woman wielded Priya’s pipe and looked ready to fight.
The woman’s voice sounded like she was prepared to do anything. “Stay back.�
“Don’t hit her again.� I had to stop myself from running to check on Priya. “She’s hurt. Let me help her.�
“Fine, but you have to help my friend.�
I nodded. “I’ll bring in Priya first, then come out for your friend.�
“Okay, but I’m watching you.� Her voice sounded threatening. I didn’t care what she wanted as long as I could examine Priya. I helped my bond mate up and brought her inside. The pirate was a lot heavier than Priya, but I managed to lift him under his arms and drag him through the doorway. When I saw the man’s face, I nearly dropped him in shock before glaring at the red-haired woman.
“Who are you, exactly?� I set my brother, Anders, down as gently as I could.
“Why does it matter?� I knew she was suspicious of me.
“I asked you a question.� I lunged toward her and twisted the pipe out of her hands, preparing to swing it if I had to. She looked confused. I realized she didn’t have a scar on her face.
“I feel like I’ve seen you before. You must be Allex.�
Anders and Gwen explained what they wanted us to do. Their plan sounded unorthodox, but I expected it when the two of them formed an idea together, and it was certainly better than doing nothing. Gwen and Priya would be separating from us and bringing all the women to the Fifth Wing. Anders and I would bring the men to a hidden section of the same wing, giving them a chance to fly. After everyone had assembled together, we would mass transport the pirates off our ship. Anders had a friend in charge of security in the sector and would provide a prison ship to accept all the pirates.
