Dennenth rolled over and pulled Sarah against his hard body. She put her hands out, feeling up and down his naked chest.

“Morning, my mate. How are you feeling this morning?” he asked, kissing her neck.

“I actually feel okay. Good, in fact.” She moaned as he continued planting small butterfly kisses along her skin. “We have to get moving though,” she panted, feeling the overwhelming arousal he was causing. She knew he was feeling the same as his rock hard erection was pushing against her stomach. “We have another day trip to the zoo it seems.”

She gasped as he kissed a sensitive part at the hollow of her neck. She could feel her nipples harden inside of her bra, pushing against the material.

“Umm, Oh God,” she whispered as his hips pushed forward, nudging his cock against her a little lower, sending more sparks of stimulation to her pussy. “We can’t.” She pushed against his chest even though she really didn’t want to. She looked up into his gray eyes and saw mischief there. “Oh, no you don’t. Freddie will be back soon.” She wriggled out from under him, got to her feet, and started to put her now wrinkled dress to rights.

“I was just wanting a little breakfast before our trip.” He grinned at her seductively.

“Bacon? Eggs?” She giggled, walking toward the door.

He growled as his hands encircled her waist. Her hair flew around her face as he spun her. He kissed her, his tongue delving between her parted lips, exploring her mouth, as she felt her back hit the wall near the door. This is not helping, she thought as her arousal hit home hard again.

“Freddie might see,” she said between his passionate kisses.

“Breakfast,” was his answer back. He pulled away rather suddenly. “Stay right there. Let me go sort our boy, and I’ll be back in two shakes of a lamb’s tail.”

  “But—”

  “No butts, stay!” He pointed.

Damn man, she thought, watching his still half-naked body trot out the door. What’s he think I am...a dog? But even though she grumbled in her head at being told to stay, she did it. When he returned to their room a little under a minute later, grinning from ear to ear, her pussy clenched and her heart sped up.

“Time for breakfast!” he said, his deep, Scottish accent becoming more pronounced. She found herself spun and facing the bedroom wall as the door was pushed shut.

  “Freddie?” she asked.

“He’ll be okay. Rosa is making his breakfast.”

“Who is Rosa?” She turned slightly, looking over her shoulder at the sexy man behind her, who was lifting her dress up around her waist.

“Housekeeper. Don’t worry, baby, she has grandchildren of her own and has been with me for years. He’s safe. I’ll introduce you after I’ve eaten,” he said, waggling his eyebrows up and down while reaching a hand between her lower lips. Sliding his fingers in her juices to her clit, he circled it. “So wet.” His voice flowed over her, full of awe.

Her body heated as he played with her nub, her hips bucked back toward him, and she felt his hot, hard erection between her butt cheeks.

“Cheat.” She giggled, knowing he’d used his dragon magic to unclothe himself.

“Oh, my sweet, my hands were busy keeping you distracted.”

She moaned as one of those hands reached down her dress top, slid between the material of her bra and her breast, and tweaked her nipple while the other strummed at her clit.

“Fuck me, Dennenth,” she pleaded. She could feel the beginnings of an orgasm already. She was so close, so very close. She whimpered as the hand circling her clit stopped.

“I told you, darlin’, after I’ve eaten.”

She felt him lower, then the touch of his velvet tongue as it slid along her folds. She couldn’t hold the groan in as it then delved inside of her channel, fucking her as his cock had done the night before. She jerked her hips back and forth. Oh God, she was so close. She felt a finger enter her and then withdraw and another added. He pumped them inside her, finger fucking while his wicked tongue lashed at her clit. Within seconds she was flying, her body afloat with the wash of ecstasy. She curled her toes as he continued to lick all her honey.

He stood and kissed her neck. “A nice, quick breakfast makes a man ready for the day.”

She moaned when she felt the tip of his cock at her entrance. “Now!” she begged.

With his huge hands on either side of her waist, he propelled his hips toward her, impaling himself balls deep inside of her in one swift movement. She bit her bottom lip to stop herself from crying out as another almighty orgasm rushed through her. Nerves in her pussy were pulsating, sending delicious sparks through her body.

  “Oh God,” she whispered, panting.

“Oh,” Dennenth groaned back, starting off a punishing rhythm.

With the way he was pounding into her, she was sure she would leave handprints permanently embedded in the wall. But she wouldn’t, or couldn’t, complain as she wanted this. In fact, she needed more.

  “Faster...Dennenth...harder.”

“You want more, darlin’?” he moaned as he continued to hammer deep inside her, his balls bumping her clit as he did. He began to move faster, becoming jerky, then just as she came again, her pussy clamping down on his cock, he thrust once more and stiffened, his hands gripping her waist. She felt the warmth of his cum as he exploded inside of her.

After a few minutes, when they could breathe, he kissed her neck and withdrew.

“Wait there,” he ordered again, walking toward his bathroom.

“What is it with you and giving me orders to stay?” she asked.

“A man needs to order his breakfast, no?” She heard him chuckle as a cool, damp cloth wiped over her pussy. She turned and watched him throw the cloth toward the bathroom, while pulling herself together again.

“What if I want to give you an order, maybe for dessert after dinner?” She giggled as he gathered her up against his now fully dressed body and kissed her deeply.

“Baby, why order just a dessert when you can have the whole meal?” He crushed his lips against hers again.

She pushed him away and chuckled. “Let’s go get a real meal, and you can introduce me to Rosa.”

  Chapter 6

As the fortnight progressed it left Dennenth bursting with joy. Being with Sarah and Freddie was nothing short of a blessing. This was what he had wanted and looked for in his life. He now knew what he had been searching for since leaving home. The hole in his soul wasn’t yet complete though—he was waiting on Sarah for that. His patience, although long, was getting thinner. The constant badgering from his dragon was finally getting to him. Also, the time before she went home was coming to an end, and he knew that if he didn’t do something to help Sarah make the decision to stay and be his mate, he was going to lose her and lose his mind in the process.

“You’re deep in thought there, Mr. Sharp.”

He twisted his head around to see his mate looking at him. She’d just come in from the garden where Freddie was playing on his new adventure playground that Dennenth had bought and had paid to be placed securely. She was a wonder to look at, her long hair was flowing down her back and she wore another summer dress that showed off her luscious curves all topped off with her cowboy boots.

“I was thinking about you, how the fortnight will be up soon...” He let the sentence drift off, giving her a chance to add to it, with a tiny flicker of hope in his heart that she would. Looking up into her eyes, he hoped he could portray that without resorting to getting down on his knees and begging.

After a brief silence she didn’t disappoint. Taking a step toward him, she asked, “And?”

“You’re going to make this hard for me, aren’t you?”

She pursed her lips and inhaled, making a small whistling sound. “Mmm, maybe beg a little, but I won’t make you cry. Promise.” She smirked.

He moved fast. Standing up from his seat, he stood in front of her, his hands resting on her hips, in a matter of seconds. “Darlin’
, I will have no trouble at all getting down on my knees and begging you, and I’m prepared to do that if necessary. I’m not asking you to give up your life. If you don’t want to stay here, I will follow you anywhere. I would give up everything to be with you and Freddie. I already think of him as my boy. I know deep down in my bones that you are mine. But how you feel about me is what matters. If you were to turn me down now, I would give you that too.”

And he would. With a broken heart he would visit his family one last time and say his goodbyes before flying up to the highest peak never to be seen again. He would do anything to make sure he didn’t hurt Sarah. His dragon waited inside of him with a heavy heart. His beast was in full agreement. He would also never hurt their one true mate and would sacrifice his life tomorrow if he had to.

Tears welled in her beautiful hazel eyes. Her hand rose to stroke his cheek. “Ask me, Dennenth. Tell me the answer you seek.”

Taking a deep breath, he said, “Be my mate, Sarah. Be by my side for the life we have left. I will love, care for, and cherish you like a highly polished stone for as long as we live.”

  “Mummy. Mummy.”

Sarah stepped away from him and pulled back her shoulders before calling out to their boy. “In here, baby.” She walked to the conservatory door and crouched down. “What’s up?” she asked.

  “Mummy, guess what I found.”

Dennenth caught Sarah when she let out a little yelp and nearly fell back on her butt.

“Eww, Freddie Joseph Porter, don’t you bring that in here,” Sarah sternly told her son, pulling again out of Dennenth’s arms.

  “Oh, but Mummm...”

Dennenth struggled to hold in a laugh at Freddie’s antics. The little lad stood before his mother with a long worm dangling from his fingers. “I’d listen to your mum, son. You don’t want to bring it in here. Rosa might cook it with her spaghetti.”

Freddie wrinkled his nose and turned to run back into the garden.

“Freddie,” Sarah called. “First of all, put that thing down in the bush there and then come here.” She turned slightly and asked Dennenth to go get a flannel so she could wash Freddie’s hands. But he knew the real reason she’d asked him to leave, and his highly sensitive hearing picked it up as he went to the bathroom.

  “Mummy, it gone.”

“Come here, baby.” There was a brief pause and some shuffling, then she continued. “I’m going to ask you a big boy question. You think you can be that for a minute?”

“Yes, Mummy, I a big boy now.”

“Would you like to live here in this big house with Dennenth?”

“I like the slide and swings in the garden. It’s just like my own park. Mmm, I like my big bedroom too.”

Dennenth moved to stand in the doorway, holding onto the damp flannel in his hand, and waited for things to play out. Freddie was sitting on Sarah’s lap, both his hands on her face.

“Mummy, Denny is good, right? You like him?”

“Yes, baby, he is good.” Sarah kissed the tip of Freddie’s nose.

“Where will you sleep?” he whispered. “You can’t sleep with Denny.”

  “Huh, why, baby?”

“’Cause he a giant and needs a big bed. He might squish you.”

Dennenth caught Sarah’s eyes when she turned toward him with a smile. They had been pretty lucky over the two weeks. Other than the first two days, there had only been one other time that Freddie had nearly caught them.

“Mummy kissed me and made me a prince, and I believe not in any of your books does it say a prince squishes the princess.”

Freddie put his hand on his chin and looked up in thought.

Kneeling down before the boy, Dennenth wiped his hands and waited for him to answer.

“If you look after Mummy, then we can stay. She did make you a prince,” he said with a huge smile on his face.

Before Dennenth could say anything he had his hands full with an excited five year old.

“We have to ask your mom now, Freddie. Do you think she wants to stay here?”

Both of them looked toward Sarah with eager eyes. With a nod from her, both Dennenth and Freddie danced around the conservatory, whooping in glee.

Mate staying. Make her ours now.

  * * * *

Sarah watched the two men in her life dance around like monkeys in front of her. All she could do was stare with what she knew was a stupid, cheesy grin on her face. She had only known this man a few weeks, but he had wormed his way into their hearts. Yes, she could do this. Freddie had been so quiet before, but over the past few weeks he’d transformed into an outgoing lad who chatted nonstop. Nothing pleased her more.

She already knew Dennenth wanted more children; plenty, he had told her. He had also told her it wouldn’t happen until he mated her. She’d had some long conversations with Amy, and she knew that shifters were born, not made, so when Dennenth did bite her to mate her she wouldn’t have a dragon inside her. She had surprised herself at being a tad disappointed about that. Being able to fly would have been an incredible experience. She was also ready for more children, and for the first time in nearly six years she actually felt safe. Blake would get out of prison soon, but coming up against a foe like Dennenth, she really didn’t want to be him.

“Looks like a party in here. Would you like dinner now or later?” Rosa was standing at the door, a look of amusement on her face.

“Rosa, Rosa, we are gonna live here.” Freddie bounced over to the elderly woman. Sarah loved her as much as Freddie did. She had become like a second grandmother to her son. Freddie jumped up into Rosa’s waiting arms.

“I’m so glad you’re staying. That means I get to look after a family instead of a house.” She chuckled, carrying the boy to the kitchen. Sarah didn’t miss the meaningful glance she’d thrown at Dennenth, who had shrugged in response. Sarah was about to follow the woman when she found herself yet again pulled rather quickly into her man’s arms.

“Is that a yes then?” he asked with passion-filled eyes.

“I guess so. But then, was there any doubt?”

“On my behalf, nope. On yours, maybe a little,” he said, holding his pinky and thumb up with a gap between them.

With a shrug, she kissed him on the lips and pulled away. “Dinner, Mr. Sharp, or Rosa won’t be happy.”

“Hey.” Dennenth pulled her back into his arms. “So tonight, will you mate me for as long as we both shall live?”

“Do I get a wedding out of this?” she asked with mirth in her voice.

“Darlin’, you can have whatever you want. We could get married tomorrow in potato sacks as long as you were with me.”

She ran a hand down his cheek. His lips clashed against hers in a steamy kiss. His tongue filled her mouth, stroking along hers. He wrapped his arms around her body, lifting her up. Her nipples hardened, her pussy wept, her body ready to be filled by her gorgeous, sexy man who wanted nothing from her but her love. Everything had happened so damn quick, but she felt sure in her heart it was the right way to go. He gradually released her, letting her feet touch the floor once again, both of them breathless.

  “Tonight then.” He winked.

  Chapter 7

After Rosa’s wonderful meal Sarah took Freddie upstairs for his evening bath.

  “Mummy.”

“Yes, baby.” She was sitting on the edge of the tub, her hands stroking the water, checking the temperature, when he came into the bathroom behind her.

“Denny says we’re going home on the weekend to pack our stuff and bring it here.”

“Yep, that’s right. Is it still okay for us to live here?”

  “Uh-huh.” He nodded.

Turning off the taps, she watched her son kick a foot back and forth against the floor. She waited patiently for the question he was finding hard to get out. She wondered if he was finally going to tell her about his dream last night. She had gone to check on him and found him in his tent, curled up in a tight ball. It was the first time he
had slept in it since being here.

Dennenth walked into the bathroom, breaking the silence. “Ha. I found you both.” The excitement on his face fell and he stopped short. Dropping to his knees in front of Freddie, he ducked his head to see the boy’s face. “Hey, little man, what’s up?”

Sarah frowned, and her heart melted when she saw two tiny teardrops fall down his chubby cheeks. Dennenth’s eyes caught hers when Freddie wrapped his arms around his neck, holding on for dear life.

“Is this about your dream last night, mate?” Sarah asked as she moved to kneel on the other side of her boy.

“I dreamed about Daddy, and he came here. I had to hide so he couldn’t find me.” More tears fell down his face.

Guilt flooded her heart. She had done this. If only she’d had the guts to leave Blake sooner. It broke her heart in pieces each time Freddie remembered.

“Okay, I’m going to show you a real cool place in the next room.” Dennenth stood and picked Freddie up, then held his hand out for Sarah.

Taking it, she stood and walked behind him into the adjacent room. The furniture was the same as in Dennenth’s room, but the color was somewhat brighter.

“Ready? he asked, placing Freddie on the floor. When he received a small nod from the boy, he continued. “Inside this room is a secret room. Take a good look around and see if you can find it.”

She turned a puzzled look on Dennenth, who stood in one spot, his eyes following a darting Freddie around the room. Her boy looked under the huge bed, in all the drawers and cupboards, then he looked dejected and fed up with the game.

“There isn’t another room here.” He stomped his little foot and scowled at Dennenth.

“Well, how can you use it if it’s secret? Dennenth asked.

Freddie shrugged his shoulders, looking miserable.

“Stand by the bedroom door to make sure I don’t cheat and leave the room. I want you to face the door and count to twenty. Think you can do that?”

  “Okay. What about Mummy though?”
