Then they can bury me. The most likely place is Belmont. It’s the largest political prison in the country and the most notorious. People are said to go mad there. If you’re not mad when you enter then you soon will be.

  The slogan for Belmont:

All ye who enter these walls

  Tread fearfully,

  We at Belmont take everything

  Your soul

  Your mind

  Your heart

  Your body

  Your life.

  Where is your God now?

  We will tell you

  In hell

And you will meet him here

  Between these walls

  Of Belmont

This is of course, the unofficial slogan. It’s said to be scrawled on the cell of one man who went mad and crucified himself.

  How can you crucify yourself?

  Anything is possible at Belmont.

In front of me is a chessboard with all the pieces placed carefully on it, ready for the next game. For me, I have played my last game of chess. I smile and reach out. I touch the rook. I push him gently over and onto his side. ‘Goodbye, Andrew,’ I whisper, ‘... and thank you, old friend.’ Then I carefully do the same to the king. I leave the rest of my army intact, alive.

Society created a monster the day they buried my father. They created Matrix.

They can have him back. I have finished with him.

This is what I have planned for all along. Matrix was never going to survive.

He has played his part. He has won.

  Checkmate.

Everyone has a story to tell, this was mine ... a simple story of a man who fought his demons ... and won.

  Now it’s your turn.

Alexander’s story continues in The Dream Catcher Diaries II

To save the planet you must earn your place. Those who cannot or will not contribute should not take from the planet.

This is a powerful and compelling argument in a world alarmed by massive over population, global warming and dwindling resources; it is an argument Alexander chooses to fight but knows he cannot win. No country wants a new god especially one who tries to stop progress.

Matrix may have won the revolution, but the ideas of Fabian have found a new and more powerful voice. They renew their attack on the underclass but this time, link their justification to the global green agenda.

This is one battle Matrix may lose and in doing so, pay the ultimate price.
