She could hear the blood rushing in her ears like waves as he entered her. The hardness of him and the softness of her mound, meeting for the first time. She bit the inside of her cheek as he eased into her slowly telling her how wet she was, how soft, how beautiful. Liadh didn’t know if she could take it, take him. She wasn’t used to sex and hadn’t been with a man in years. But, she was ready and wet for him, the need she felt for him was overwhelming. Her fingers pressed into his shoulders hard and her nails dug into his skin. He teased her, dipping the head of his cock into her, then withdrawing and tapping it against her clit in a rhythmic motion that had her seeing stars. Suddenly he plunged into her, again and again until she couldn’t tell where she ended and he began.

“Liadh. Liadh. Liadh.” All he could do was whisper her name, each time he repeated it on his lips, it felt like the trace of a kiss.

“Let me ride you, Rían. I want to watch you, watching me.”

Liadh pushed him onto his back and mounted him, she lowered herself slowly onto his cock and felt it pulse and tighten inside her. She rode him slowly; savouring every emotion on his face, each time she lowered herself, he breathed in sharply. Each time she rose up just clinging to his tip, his mouth opened wider in ecstasy. Rían reached forward, watching her in awe and placed his thumb on her clit as she moaned sweetly above him.

“Yes. That’s it Rían, just there, press it harder.”

Rían smiled as she shouted directions at him. He loved it, loved her freedom and her ease with her body. Rubbing her gently he felt her clit moisten.

“Ride me harder Liadh, harder and faster and I’ll make you cum.”

Liadh moaned and increased her pace as Rían rubbed his palm against her mound deeper and deeper. He pulled Liadh forward and held her close with his other hand, his tongue swirled on the tip of her nipple, her body and mind was lost to the ecstasy of it all. She rose and fell faster and the tension mounted as Rían drummed a steady pressure on her clit until Liadh thought she would explode.

And then she did, throbbing and crying out she came shaking in his arms. Rían’s eyes took in each movement of her face, every emotion and feeling flashing across her features until he felt his cock throb inside her and bucked his hips to fill her as deeply as he could. He felt his balls tighten and lay back, his hands a vice like grip on her hips as he spilled his seed into her. Floating above himself he looked at the bodies entwined on the bed. Two became one, one mass of sex and power and love.

Liadh walked into Nellie’s and looked around the pub. It was warm outside and busloads of tourists filled the wooden benches. Liadh smiled to herself as she heard the different accents and languages around her. People were digging into bowlfuls of seafood chowder and BBQ wings, washed down with pints of Guinness. Across the small road, the Blarney woollen mills were busy and people were hanging around and walking up and down the road that led to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Liadh waved at some of the locals that recognised her from the medical practice. One month left and Kilvarna was feeling more and more like home, Liadh was secretly dreading going back to Dublin. Waving to the group of O’Malleys that were taking up most of the left hand side of the pub, she pushed passed customers and made her way over to the group.

“Over here Liadh, I have a Bailey’s waiting for you,” Aoife grabbed her arm and pulled her through the crowd.

“Thanks Aoife,” Liadh said taking a sip from her drink. She closed her eyes as the creamy liquid warmed the back of her throat.

Liadh spotted Bonnie and waved over at her. Bonnie deep in a heated discussion with Darragh, crossed her eyes playfully and waved at her in an exaggerated manner. Liadh rolled her eyes at her and pretended to swat her away like an annoying fly.

  Aoife bumped her shoulder affectionately.

“I hope you are enjoying your holiday Liadh, yourself and Bonnie are practically family at this stage.” Liadh looked at her and smiled, warmth radiating from her beautiful face.

“Thanks Aoife, I’ve certainly been made feel welcome, by you all.”

“Rían especially, I’d say,” Aoife said with a small smile.

“Yes. Rían especially,” Liadh repeated, meeting Aoife’s eyes and winking at her.

Bonnie and Darragh suddenly burst out laughing and Liadh and Aoife raised their eyebrows at each other. Bonnie sure was settling in nicely in Kilvarna. Liadh watched them talking and noticed how Darragh used every opportunity to touch Bonnie’s arm when he spoke to her. Bonnie flicked back her hair and Darragh bent down and whispered into her ear. Hmm, Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie, don’t go breaking his heart.

“What are you smiling at Beautiful?” Rían came up behind her and put his arms around her waist. He kissed her lightly on the cheek and put his face against hers. Liadh turned her head and smiled up at him.

“Oh just Bonnie and your brother. I’m not sure what she’s up to, but he seems to be enjoying it.”

Rían looked over at the two of them and nodded.

“It would do Darragh no harm to loosen up and relax. He takes his job of big brother far too seriously.” Liadh nodded and smiled.

“I have no doubt that Bonnie will loosen him right up. I’m going to the bathroom. Back in a minute.”

Liadh went upstairs to the bathroom and closed the cubicle door behind her. Sitting down, she heard the click click of shoes as the door in the cubicle beside her opened and closed.

  “Liadh?”

Liadh stilled and looked to her left, where the voice had come from. “Ah, yeah?”

“It’s me Annie, I’m in the cubicle next door.”

“Oh hi, Annie, are you okay?”

“Yeah, fine. I just wanted to say hi.”

  In the toilet?

“I guess I was just wondering about Rían. You two seem to be getting close over the last month.”

Liadh didn’t know whether to pee, or to leave the toilet. She sat there and waited.

“Yeah Annie. Rían and I are good friends.”

“I think Rían is looking for a bit more though, are you? Looking for more I mean?” Liadh closed her eyes and tried to think of an honest answer.

  “Ah Annie, I don’t think…”

“Well it’s just that Rían is a very special guy. I’d hate for someone to break his heart. When my brother loves someone, he loves them for life. Like a little dog. I mean think of him as a third Peanut, if you will. He projects himself as a happy-go-lucky type, but the real Rían is different. If someone held his heart and then walked away, he’d be devastated. Especially since it happened once already when he was eight. I’d hate to see it happen again.”

Liadh heard the warning loud and clear, she sat back on the toilet seat and laced her fingers on top of her head. Closing her eyes she breathed a long sigh.

“Annie, I think if someone was lucky enough to have the heart of a man like Rían they would be a fool to let that go. I think the woman who owns Rían’s heart would be the luckiest woman in the world.”

“I think so too Liadh. And I also think she would be a very special lady. I think I would like her a lot.”

In spite of herself, Liadh smiled, and gently touched a hand to the cubicle wall that divided them.

“I think she would love your family Annie. She would be lucky to have you all on her side.”

  “She would indeed. Liadh?”

  “Yes, Annie.”

“Will you pass me some toilet roll, some young one must have finished the roll and the staff haven’t replaced it yet.”

Liadh stifled a laugh and rolled off some toilet roll, she shoved it under the gap between the cubicles.

  “Thanks Liadh.”

“No problem Annie. See you outside.”

“Yup, your round Liadh. Make mine a double.”

  “Okay then.”

Liadh opened the toilet door and washed her hands at the speed of light. A
s she exited the bathroom she heard Annie singing quietly to herself. Okay, that was surreal.

She watched Rían chatting to someone at the bar and her heart filled with love for him. Instant love was something she had never believed in before. Now she wasn’t so sure. What she felt for Rían was more than she had felt for any man at any time in her life. Being near him, being with him, made her tummy flip and her spirit soar. Was that what love was? Liadh made her way over to the group and joined in the conversation with Darragh and Bonnie.

Rían watched her as she laughed along with Darragh and Bonnie. When she tucked her hair behind her ear he felt a strange feeling come over him. I know that movement. Something about the way she moved had become so familiar to him. Liadh was under his skin, running through his veins, holding his heart in the palm of her hand. The right side of his mouth quirked up into a smile. God, I love her. I’ve always loved her, in every way possible.

Liam O’Brien sat in the long grass outside Rua Cottage. He’d been spending a lot of time here lately. Watching her, waiting for her to notice him. Not that he was going to harm her in anyway. She intrigued him. She always had, from that first day in school he had liked to watch her. The way she moved, the way she looked. He had seen Rían O’Malley going in and out of the cottage most days. And that freaky looking bitch too. Purple hair on her and all those tattoos, women shouldn’t be allowed look like that. If she was his he’d take her in hand and show her who the boss was. Fuckin’ O’Malleys, they thought they were so perfect. He had been boss of the school for most of the years in primary, but he had hit puberty early and never grew above five foot six. One summer had changed it all.

One summer where the boys in the class all grew taller than him. Without having his height as an advantage, he had been pushed into the background. The kids had listened to him before that, they had no choice but to listen. After that summer nobody had paid him a second of attention. No one had noticed Liam O’Brien. Well someone would notice him now. He’d make sure they’d listen. The O’Malley men had continued to grow, and all the bitches in town had been willing to drop their knickers for those lads. Liam hated them all for it. And those snobby sisters too. The crippled one, and darker one who was permanently in wellies and covered in cow shite. They thought they were something, well he knew better, they were nothing. Nothing to a man like him.

Liam watched as Liadh hung underwear on the line, silky sexy knickers she was wearing for that O’Malley bastard. His lip curled as he saw her stretch her hands over her head, he smiled down at her. Look up at me Liadh; show me you know I’m here.

Liadh looked up into the long grass and shivered. Why did she have a feeling she was being watched? It was crazy, who would be watching her for heaven’s sake? Bonnie had told her that she was paranoid, probably right. She just couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was close by. Liadh picked up her basket and went back inside giving one last look up into the field above her.

“What are you doing here Liam?”

Liam shot up out of the grass and stood with his fists clenched as he stared into the angry face of Rían O’Malley.

“I’m out for a walk, O’Malley. None of your business.” Rían smirked at him and raised an eyebrow.

“I’ll think you’ll find it is my business Liam. Especially since you’re sitting on my land, outside my girl’s house.” Liam rounded on him, his face puffy and red.

“Your girl is she O’Malley? Are you sure about that are ya? I think I may have seen a few different men going through her door.”

Rían cocked his head to the side and looked at Liam with disgust.

“You’re a nasty piece of work O’Brien.” He stepped forward until his toes were touching the feet of O’Brien. He spoke angrily punctuating each word with a poke in O’Brien’s chest.

“Stay the fuck away from my land. Stay the fuck away from Liadh too. You’ll find nothing you want here.”

Liam O’Brien looked at Rían and suddenly swung his arm back and connected with Rían’s jaw. Rían stood as still as a statue and didn’t flinch.

“I’ll give you that one Liam and I’ll not fight you. The odds wouldn’t be in your favour. I’m not your ex-wife, you’d do well to remember it. Not everyone would take a beating off you without retaliating.”

Rían walked away from O’Brien and suddenly felt a thump on his back. Swinging around angrily he punched O’Brien square in the jaw; he looked down on the ground as Liam landed on his arse with a thud. Rubbing his jaw, O’Brien spat blood on the ground as he scrambled to his feet and hissed at Rían.

“You’ll be sorry you crossed me, O’Malley. So sorry you angered the beast.”

Rían threw back his head and laughed.

“Fuck off, amadán. Get off my land.”

Rían turned and walked towards Liadh’s cottage ignoring the crazy threats Liam O’Brien was making behind his back. He rubbed his knuckles and several times he had to stop himself from going back and giving the man a few more thumps. Jesus the lad never grew up.

Rían knocked on Liadh’s door and she opened it smiling at him. Rían opened the door wide and walked in past her.

  “What’s happened? Rían?”

“You need to get your stuff and leave here. Grab a bag you’re coming to stay with me.”

“Wait, what?” Liadh walked over to him as he began pulling clothes from her clothes horse and throwing them on the couch.

“I saw Liam O’Brien hanging around outside. He was watching you. I’m taking you to my house. I can protect you there. I’ll ring Darragh and get him to ask Bonnie to stay at the farm. I just left them, they’re going fishing with the two Peanuts.”

Liadh shook her head, suddenly feeling so angry.

“I knew someone was watching me. I’m not leaving. I’m not being pushed out.”

“No Liadh, you are leaving. You are coming with me. I need to protect you.” Liadh looked at him and felt her temper flare suddenly. The stress and fear took over and she couldn’t think straight.

“Protect me from what exactly? I have protected myself perfectly well for the last thirty years thank you very much, stop being melodramatic Rían.”

Rían’s eyes widened in surprised. “Don’t be a fool Liadh. He’s a creep, and until I figure out what he wants, you are coming with me. Look if you don’t want to come to my house, go to a hotel. Here’s my credit card, just charge it to that.”

He opened his wallet and handed her the platinum card. Liadh ignored it and her eyes flashed with thinly veiled, hidden anger.

“Listen, I know you think you are some kind of a God, Rían O’Malley, but don’t come in here throwing your money around. I am not for sale. Not now and not ever. If you think you can come in here and turn my life upside down, throwing around your cash like I’m some sort of bought woman, then you are sadly mistaken!”

“What the hell are you talking about woman?”

“Woman! Really? Don’t act like a Neanderthal.”

“Oh Liadh Grace O’Neill, you are impossible!” He stormed out of the front door and then stormed back in, banging it shut, he walked up to Liadh putting his face inches from hers.

“If you weren’t so sexually frustrated and hot for me right now, you wouldn’t have an issue with my so called behaviour.”

“Oh. My. God. You are the last man on earth I would ever be hot for you big... big... apeman!”

Rían’s eyes darkened and narrowed, Liadh stepped back until her heels connected with the wall. She put out a hand to shove him away but he caught her by the wrist and she lashed out with the other hand. Catching it mid strike he grabbed both her wrists and drew her hands above her head. Crushing his mouth against hers, she struggled to free herself and when he let her hands go she slapped him as hard as she could on the shoulders. His mouth was claiming hers and she was lost. Liadh stopped fighting him and instead she started to kiss him back f
iercely. Her hands moved around his body, and he pulled open her blouse, popping the buttons one by one. Grabbing at his shirt, her fingers plucked at his clothes. He lifted her up so that her legs had no option but to clench around his waist to steady herself. Lifting his t-shirt above his head, she bit down on his shoulder, hard. He laughed and brought her over to the bed and plonked her on it. Liadh was breathing heavily and could do nothing but stare at him.

“Now little wildcat, let’s see how much you really hate me.”

Rían followed her onto the bed and pulled off her yoga pants and underwear. Spreading her legs with his hand he softly rubbed between her legs, delving into the folds with his fingers.

“You’re so wet Liadh, so beautiful.” He leapt off the bed and removed his jeans and underwear never taking his eyes from her.

Crawling up the bed to where she lay, he kissed her face as she threw her head back, allowing him access to her soft neck, he lay next to her and drew her on top of him.

“I want to watch you Liadh, open your eyes and look at me.”

She did as he asked and traced her fingers down his chest as he mounted her and drove his cock into her pussy. He cursed under his breath and held onto her hips as he plunged into her over and over again.

  “Harder. Faster.”

Liadh drove him on, pushing him further and further into her and dragging them both to the edge of a precipice, before throwing them off, as they came together panting and crashing to earth.

After, they lay beside each other in silence, until Rían turned her face to his.

“Come to my house Liadh. Just for a little while, just until I know what O’Brien is up to. Let me talk to my friend Seamus Kelly, he’s a guard. I think I should let him know what’s going on.”

  Liadh nodded and sighed softly.

“Maybe that would be for the best. He came to the surgery one day, before you came back, he was creepy.”

“What?” Rían stood up and loomed over her, his face angry and concerned.

“What did he say to you?”
