Hugh stroked her hair. “That’s one of the things we love so much about you. Here you are, in the hospital with bruises and bumps. You were almost raped, and yet you’re more worried about others.”

  “I’m okay. They’re not.”

Both men pulled her close as much as possible with the IV tubing and heart monitor lead wires. Hugh whispered in her ear. “I know, love. But you are safe now. And you can’t imagine how happy we are about that.”

“All I could think about was losing you two without telling you how much I loved you. I couldn’t deal with that. I fought to keep thinking about you both, and picturing you in my mind.”

“Oh, Brynn.” Ryder kissed her hair. “We were both blessed the day you fell in that grease spot at Nan’s Place.”

She laughed weakly, because that was all she could do, and closed her eyes. They loved her, and now they knew that she loved them, too. Eddie was dead, and she had the knowledge that she’d been right all along. He had raped and killed her friend ten years ago. Felicia was going to be all right. Brynn had everything she wanted, and now she could spend the rest of her life loving Hugh and Ryder.

Her heart filled with such contentment and joy that Brynn could only close her eyes and breathe in the scents of each of her Doms. She didn’t want to do anything at that moment except be with them. Forever.

  * * * *

Monday, three days after Eddie was shot, Brynn sat in Julie’s office with Hugh and Ryder. Claude had insisted she take at least a couple of days off work after hearing what had happened, and Hugh and Ryder hadn’t given her any choice in the matter. They’d both taken a couple days off as well, especially after Julie called them on Saturday morning, asking them to bring Brynn to the office on Monday.

“But I’m okay,” said Brynn. “He didn’t rape me.”

Julie leaned forward. “You’ve been trying to prove this man raped and killed one of your friends for ten years. And now that you know the truth, it’s useless because he’s dead. He will never stand trial for it, and he will never stand trial for the other crimes he committed. If that isn’t enough to cause pent-up anger and frustration at the injustice of it, I don’t know what is.”

It was enough for Brynn to know that Julie understood how she felt. She didn’t need to see a shrink. But she also knew that all three of them only had her best interests at heart. “I’m more concerned about how he waltzed down Market Street Friday night and no one saw him.”

Julie frowned. “All I can tell you is what Sean told me. And I’m not even sure I should be saying this, but I know he’d tell you the same thing if you asked him, so it’s probably all right. They found Eddie’s car later that night in the woods near the river, just over the state line. He walked for miles on a dark night in the rain.”

That made sense to Brynn. She remembered the puddle of water he’d left on the floor of Decorus when he’d first come inside.

“They weren’t looking for someone on foot,” said Julie. “They missed him that night. But it’s over now, Brynn. You survived it, and you have the truth you’ve been seeking for so long.”

“But no justice for it,” said Ryder.

Julie nodded. “I know. Sean isn’t sure the cops in Chicago will do anything with the information he gave them about what Eddie told Brynn. He’s not sure it will help the cops in Ohio or Michigan either, but at least they’ve done what they can. The question is, can you live with that?” She studied Brynn’s face. “Will that be enough? Knowing what he told you, but also understanding it won’t change the outcome of the crimes he committed?”

  “It will have to be.”

Hugh rubbed her shoulder. “We’ll make sure it’s enough for her. She has us now, and we’re not going anywhere.”

Julie smiled. “And I know how happy all three of you are about that. But I want you all to promise me that if you ever feel the need to talk to someone about this, you will call me. Day or night. I’ll come over and talk to you at Hugh’s home if you need me to.”

“Do you do that for all your clients?” asked Brynn.

She shook her head. “No. Only for the ones who should have had my help from day one.”

“I’m not upset with you, Julie. And I don’t blame you, Sean, or Maddox for any of this. If I’d never come to Racy, Eddie would still be out there.”

Julie frowned. “I’m not sure why he was here in the first place. That’s the one thing Sean wishes we knew for certain. Had he followed you here, or had he originally come looking for Sean or even Maddox?”

“He told me he’d come here for me.” Brynn shivered as she remembered his words.

Julie nodded. “Then we’ll have to be satisfied with that as well.”

After promising her they’d call her if they needed to talk, they left and spent the rest of the day at home, relaxing and enjoying the warm weather. They took Tuesday off as well, and Hugh and Ryder asked her to take one more day off as they had a surprise planned for her Wednesday afternoon. She begged them to tell her what it was, but they wouldn’t. They said she’d have to wait.

She didn’t mind. She knew whatever it was, she’d love it. She loved everything they did for her.

  Chapter Nineteen

Wednesday afternoon, Hugh and Ryder drove her to Maddox’s house, and she wondered why they hadn’t asked her to put on club wear. She assumed the surprise was that they’d come here again to play. But when she saw so many cars, and realized it was the middle of the day, she knew they weren’t there to play. “All right, you two. What’s going on?”

“Come on, sub. Inside.” Hugh looked like a kid trying very hard not to spill a secret, and Ryder couldn’t stop smiling. She followed them inside the house, then down the main hallway to the doors marking the club entrance.

  “Should I close my eyes?”

Hugh chuckled. “No. Just don’t be upset with us. We weren’t sure if you liked surprises.”

“That depends on what they are.”

They opened the doors, and it took her a few seconds to get used to the low lighting, but as she followed Hugh and Ryder down the three steps, she realized that all of Racy’s current triads were in the room.

By now, Brynn had met each of them at least once. Kari, Noah, Adison, Alexa, Chase, Luke, Julie, Maddox, Sean, Annalise, Chad, Dustin, Marisol, Ellis, Rafe, Cherilyn, Thayer, Evan, Gina, Harrison, Zach, Olivia, Storm, Cameron, Ava, Gary, Jake, Harper, Mason, Lee, Teresa, Garrett, and Carson surrounded the three of them in a large circle, all smiling.

“This is the part where you kneel,” said Hugh.

She did, and then put a hand to her mouth as he pulled a small box out of his pocket. “Ryder and I had to sneak away from the hospital Saturday while you were sleeping to get this. We hope you like it.”

He opened the box and took out a gold chain that featured tiny hearts and gemstones. She stared it, not able to grasp what she saw. “Are they real?”

He nodded. “Emeralds to match your eyes, sapphires to match Ryder’s, and diamonds for mine. The rubies are for your hair color.”

  “It’s too much,” she whispered.

“No, it’s not. Nothing is too much for you. Nothing ever will be. Ryder and I would give you the world if we could. Haven’t you figured that out by now?”

She heard murmured words of affirmation around her, but didn’t think it would be appropriate right now to take her eyes off her Doms. Tears threatened, and she simply let them come this time. She’d never seen a piece of jewelry so exquisite, and she’d never felt so cherished or wanted before. “Yes, Sir,”

“Good girl.” Hugh handed the necklace to Ryder, who moved behind her and put it on, fastening it. Then he joined Hugh in front of her again.

Each man took a hand, and Hugh spoke first. “Brynn, I hope that you will accept this necklace as your collar. I want to be your lover and your Dom. I promise to love you, cherish you, and protect you for the rest of your life. I want you with me forever. And I want to share you as a sub and a lover with Ryder.

Ryder gave her hand a squeeze. “And I, too, hope you will accept this necklace as your collar. I also want to be your lover and your Dom. I will love you and cherish you every single moment of your life. I will protect you, and I will never, ever let anyone come close to harming you again. I want you with me forever, Brynn. And I can’t imagine living out my life without sharing your submission and your love with Hugh.”

She swallowed hard and blinked back fresh tears, giving each of their hands a squeeze before she spoke. “I love you both so much. My two Doms, Hugh and Ryder. I accept this necklace as my collar. I will proudly wear it for the rest of my life. I offer you not only my love, but my submission as well. I will cherish you both, and obey you, forever. I can’t imagine my life without you two in it, every single day.”

They grinned like she’d never seen them grin, and then they told her she could stand. All around them, the group clapped and cheered as Hugh and Ryder took turns pulling her into a tight embrace and holding her. They each kissed her, tongue and all, and Brynn didn’t care. She kissed them back, filled with so much happiness that she didn’t think she could keep standing.

As the men shook hands with Hugh and Ryder, and the women gathered around her to admire her collar, they each showed her theirs in turn. She hadn’t even realized the jewelry she’d seen many of them wearing all the time were collars, in this sense of the word.

The BDSM community here in Racy was tight, but they also didn’t shove their lifestyle in anyone’s faces. And she liked that. It meant she could enjoy being part of it without having to look over her shoulder every moment, wondering if she was about to get flak from someone who disapproved. In her job, that would be important.

As she admired the collars on each of the women, she kept glancing over at her Doms. Hugh and Ryder. She could hardly believe it. She was a sub. She was their sub. A real sub this time. Not one who spent her days in fear, or wishing she was anywhere but with a particular Dom. They would never hurt her, or use her, or cause her any kind of pain but the good kind. That kind that made her heart race, her pussy wet, and sent her to that amazing place where she never wanted to leave.

She loved them both more than she’d ever loved anything or anyone. She knew that now. She’d always known it. She’d merely been afraid to acknowledge it, or to show it. But there was no need for fear any longer. Never again.

She had everything she’d ever wanted, right here, with Hugh and Ryder. And she was determined to spend the rest of her life, not only submitting to them, but cherishing them as well. They’d never wonder if she loved them. She’d make sure of that. They’d never feel alone or afraid again, and neither would she. She’d make sure they knew how much they were loved. And she in turn would bask in their love.

As they came back toward her and pulled her into their arms again, one after the other, Ryder whispered in her ear, asking if she really liked the necklace.

“It’s perfect. Just like you are. Just like you both are.”

“No. You’re the one who is perfect. You’ve saved us both from a life of loneliness.”

“I love you both so much.”

  “And we love you, too.”

Ryder held her close again, and she breathed in his scent, committing every nuance of this moment to memory. When he released her, Hugh pulled her close again and kissed her. She did the same for him, memorizing every second of this moment. She wanted to take this afternoon out, second by second, and examine it for the rest of her life. It was the single, most significant thing that had ever happened to her.

She was a collared sub to the two most perfect, handsome, and amazing men in Racy. In the entire world. For how could two such men exist anywhere else? The universe couldn’t handle it. And she intended to spend every second of her life making sure they each knew how very, very much she loved them. Forever.
