My Darling, My Disaster (Lords of Essex)

by Morgan, Angie

“In that case.” He moved to the edge of the bench, gathering her into his arms with an evil grin. “What are we waiting for?”

“That depends on how much you love me.”

It was all in play of course. Gray would never embarrass her, even if her servants were used to their mistress’s eccentricities. And there would be more than enough time for games later. In private. Either in said fountain or behind closed doors. It did not matter which…as long as she lay satiated in his arms.

He stared down at the woman who held his heart—the love of his life and the mother of his children—and wondered for the hundredth time how they’d managed to avert disaster at almost every turn. Their love had not been easily won, but now here they were…together, with a chance at true happiness. He would not waste a second of it.

Gray looked into his wife’s eyes, his voice solemn as the day he’d given her his vows. “I will love you to my last breath, my darling.”
