by Willows, Jennifer

While Riordan stood at the door impatient to see Jennifer outside the confines of work, he thought about her. He wanted to know the real her, not the person she showed the world as a professional. He'd clenched the flowers he picked up from a florist in the hotel in his right hand. They weren’t much, just an assortment of gerbera daisies in yellow and white. He didn't want to appear overeager, even though she probably could see how much he liked her. How much he wanted her. Hell, he'd spent half his day hard just looking at her. The rose' was safe under his left arm along with a bag filled with fresh cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Bakery in hand and he rang the bell.

  Jennifer: Home Training

Moments later, Jennifer tucked the earrings in each ear before she opened the door and was struck dumb. He changed clothes, just as she did. But the effect was so startling, she barely recognized him. The jeans were a trendy brand with western pockets and button fly, with slide on plaid sneakers and completed with a dark green concert tee. The clothes were simple, but on him transformed to a sexy casual. The outfit looked so good on him it seemed as if it were made with him in mind and the garb showcased his full masculine beauty. His hair was wind tossed and she itched to touch the loose waves with her fingers. Then she realized that she was being rude, not only with her ogling, but by leaving him standing on her front porch. When she stepped back she waved him in her house as she attempted to decipher if the look on his face meant he liked what he saw too.

"Sorry about that, as you can see, I'm not used to having guests. Please make yourself at home."

"It's okay, I was staring too."

Jennifer smiled shyly. No other man had ever cared enough to buy her flowers and she always loved daisies. The flowers always seemed humble, as if innocent of their natural beauty. The slight fragrance of the blooms wafted upward to her nose. Needing to busy herself, Jennifer arranged the blossoms in a glazed earthenware vase. She took the floral arrangement to the dining room and sat them in the center of the oaken round breakfast table. She looked up at her guest and looked away, then wandered over to her stove. It was more than enough that he was here and she could barely contain her excitement.

The only damper was how nervous she felt. Her stomach was a gigantic knot, she thought she may not be able to eat at all. That would definitely look conspicuous. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed her prepped meat and began to prepare dinner. After pan searing the chicken, she started the Marsala with her wine.

"Riordan, would you mind grabbing the veggies from the crisping drawer?" At least then she could watch him lean over and catch a peek of his ass without him knowing she’d done so.

"Not a problem, would you like them washed as well?" And he was domestically trained.

"Yeah if you don't mind." Then she could envy the water droplets, at least the liquid got a chance to cling to his skin. It was more than she was going to get tonight.

Riordan seemed to be more than happy to help and told her that he hadn't eaten a home cooked meal in a while. Once he placed the romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers in the sink, he washed them carefully and laid them on the large cutting board. Jennifer took over from there, chopped the vegetables and tossed the mix into a large bowl. She mixed a dressing from buttermilk and basil, along with a few other items. Being the gentleman he was, he carried the platters to the table and dished up servings of each. Jennifer followed behind him with the quick salad as he poured them each a glass of wine.

Even though her experience was limited, she read. A lot. Erotic novels at night that she read from her tablet notebook. It was one of the only indulgences she carried over from her former life as an obese woman. Everything else she had to give up in her quest to become healthy. She thought of the ways he could have her for his dessert. If only she wasn't such a wimp, Jennifer thought. She could dance, use the moves she'd learned from the stripping classes. Dance for him, make him hungry for her. She ate sparingly, taking a bite here and there, with unusually erotic thoughts between mouthfuls. Riordan had given her a much too large portion of the chicken Marsala, and she only ate a bit before she grew too full to have more. Looking at him only made her lust worse, so she paid too much attention to her plate and the diet breaking calories on it. She stopped estimating the count at seven hundred. And that was just the Marsala.

  Riordan: Beneath the Skin

When Jennifer opened the door and stared at him it made Riordan glad she found his clothing change to her liking. He found hers to be effortlessly gorgeous and he was grateful they were alone. Especially, since he couldn't fathom the vision of her thick luscious behind and thighs visible to other men. Not yet at least. The pants fit like a second skin, and were just darker than the shade of her flesh. The colors were close enough in hue that he fantasized about her in the feminine lace-trimmed top only, offering herself to him. Open to his lusts and desires. After he shook his head to clear his thoughts, he presented her with the nearly forgotten bouquet in his hand.

Riordan followed her inside the kitchen space, eyes lingering on her curves, going on forever. He could see the thick curve of her ass so well that the denim along his fly bit at his cock. He thought that it seemed as if his penchant for going without underwear bit him in the ass almost literally. All he wanted to touch her and make love with her. It was just crazy how quickly she had gotten under his skin. He watched her, even while he busied himself assisting. He put the wine on to chill, washed the occasional dish or utensil after she was done with it. He wasn't much of a cook and most meals he prepared only required heating or grilling. He could do that much but little else.

Riordan pulled out a chair and assisted his date before himself. He just wanted to savor each moment of the night. No other woman had ever gotten this reaction from him, made him fall so hard into lust. She had him ensnared so well that that he didn't think could sate his curiosity for her ever. He wanted to see what her pussy tasted like, as he cradled her sexy behind with his hands. He ate, and while the meal was wonderful, he tasted none of the spice he saw her carefully use to season the food. He only saw her and his burning throat was parched with the need to drink her down. Taste her, his mind screamed at him. The only consolation was he had a close-up and personal view of her, even though it only served to fuel more fantasies of them splayed together in his too large bed.

Riordan thought to himself that it had been awhile since he had a home cooked meal. If the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach, then Jennifer prepared a meal good enough to hop onto I-95. This was definitely the best date he’d had in memory.

The meal was finished sooner than anticipated mostly due to the affable companionship that sprang from their natural and mutual attraction. The pair felt the chemistry between them so powerfully, it almost seemed a separate entity dined with them. After they had eaten, Riordan knew his lust for Jennifer had grown out of proportion. Her dry wit was refreshing and she was intelligent. He knew that if things continued on the path they were headed, he would have her lips for dessert. The only question was when he would have the rest of her.

  Jennifer: Sharing is Caring

Riordan stood and pulled out her chair and allowed her to exit the table. Each disposed of their uneaten portions of dinner and placed the plates in the sink. Jennifer wasn't sure where the rest of the night would go, but she could give him a hint that she was interested at least. Before she knew it, her date took the initiative and washed the dishes she was content to leave in the sink for the moment. To give herself busy work, she put away the extra food. The left over Marsala went in a Tupperware dish and the salad was topped off with a lid.

By the time she pulled out the dessert Riordan brought and put on coffee to perk, he was done with the dishes. Sparkling clean, each was dry and in the rack to the side of the double sinks. When she opened the bag she was pleasantly surprised by the half dozen designer cupcakes inside. The bakery was downtown and had become a raving success in the six months it had been open. But as she had been dieting when they opened, she gave the sh
op a wide berth. Excited, she plated the cakes and poured two cups of coffee. After she fixed hers to her liking, she brought back two small containers of cream and sugar to the table. Riordan only took a spot of cream, just enough to make the beverage a step below the color of milk chocolate.

"I hope you like these. I opted just to pick up a bunch in different flavors. I wasn't sure how you would like them."

"They're perfect. Want to share, that way we each get a taste of everything?"

"You bet I would, how about this one for starters?" Riordan leaned over the table, giving her a caramel filled chocolate topped with a whipped meringue top. His plate was next, and he took a coffee and vanilla bean cupcake topped in Irish cream and Guinness frosting.

The next few minutes were filled with laughter as each tasted their cakes and shared a bite as well. By the end of dessert, Jennifer was spent and couldn't eat another morsel. There was nowhere for the food to go. Riordan was in the same shape, he laughed and pushed the plate away even as he looked at it speculatively.

"Thank you for the wonderful meal, I haven't had better in a long time."

"No, thank you for coming over, I really enjoyed your company tonight." Jennifer felt more than a little awkward, it had been a long time since she had a date.

And it had been even longer since a man revved her libido enough to where she wanted to kiss him. For Jennifer kisses were more personal than the idea of sex. After her first bad experience with French kissing, she kept her lips and her legs locked up tighter than Fort Knox. But Riordan was worth breaking some rules for and technically this was the second date anyway. Since her first botched kiss she ensured that men never got that far with her until the third date. Until that point, she always offered her dates cheek busses. By the second night out, she already knew if there would be a third, let alone if the man would get a kiss. Most dates didn't go that far anyway. Even if they did the kisses were lousy, or they used them as a fast track to third base. The thought made her laugh at herself, she sounded like a teenager.

"Why are you laughing?" Riordan’s expression seemed as he wanted to scrutinize every face she made and pluck every thought from her mind.

"No reason." Jennifer definitely didn't want him to know what she thought. But she would like to talk with him more. “Mmm... would you like another glass of wine with me and some conversation?"

"I could never turn down an offer from such a beautiful lady." Riordan stood and grabbed the wine along with the washed glasses from earlier. He rubbed them spotlessly dry with a checkered cloth and Jennifer took the offered goblet before she unearthed a bottle of Verdi from the fridge.

After the two sat down, Riordan had questions. He still was curious as to why Jennifer laughed earlier.

"So do you plan on telling me why you laughed a few minutes ago?" Apparently, he wasn’t going to let the prior unsolicited giggle die down.

"Well... if you tell me more about your friend Monroe." Jennifer was dying to hear the rest of the story.

"I can do that... I think I left off at the point where we lost our virginity together."

  "Yeah, that sounds about right."

"About six months after we met, Monroe approached me with a proposition. She was a virgin, and wanted to know if she could enjoy sex with men or not. She wasn't sure if she was just gay or bi-sexual since she found some men attractive. She liked me as a person and we enjoyed a close friendship. Even so, when Monroe asked me to be her first, I had no idea what to do.” He paused for a moment as if thinking how to elucidate. “Don't get me wrong, I knew what the act itself entailed. But as to the finer points of lovemaking? I was clueless. So I did what I do best, research."

Jennifer had to know what he meant by research. "So what type of research did you do? Aside from reading the Kama Sutra that is?"

Riordan smiled and responded to the query." Well, the thing is I read everything I could get my hands on. That did include the Kama Sutra but other things too. Magazines articles were a really good place to look. I read up on anatomy, to learn how the nerves worked when stimulated. But all in all, the most helpful thing I did was listen to her, not just her words, but to listen to her body as well. That was the advice my brother gave me and it worked better than almost all of my research combined. I had to make sure the experience was memorable and wonderful for her. There was no way that I wanted to have an embarrassing moment immortalized during my first sexual encounter."

"Magazines? Do you mean like Cosmo or Vogue? And what happened? When the time came for everything to go down that is?"

"To answer your first question, yes, I did read Cosmo and Vogue. And to the second question, I just made sure she was as eager for it to happen as I was. Most of the research I'd done showed me a woman’s arousal isn't even physical for the most part."

"Really, so what is it then?"

"Mostly mental, for a woman. For men it’s mostly visual."

Jennifer could understand the wisdom in his words as she had been on the receiving end of the masculine allure with physical appearance more than once. "That makes sense. Most people are too shallow to see beneath a person’s skin anyway."

"Sounds like you've seen that before."

"Been there, got the T shirt. I told you earlier about my struggles with weight and that usually brings the vanity out of men. So what happened afterwards? Did she just not enjoy it as much as with a woman or..."

"For the most part. She just found that while the sex act with a man and woman was pleasurable, she needed a woman to feel completely satisfied at the end of the night."

"Wow..." Jennifer didn't even know how to respond. As a matter of fact even if she should respond. She would look crazy if she were like, oh, sorry that your lover decided she would rather be a lesbian. Not. Especially considering Jennifer wouldn't have gotten this date if ole' girl ain't let him slip through her fingers. Shoot, gay or not, any woman would be lucky to attract his attentions.

"It’s okay, we weren't meant to be. I knew before we ever touched how she really felt, and to this day we have a close relationship."

"Did you have... do you have feelings... for her?"

"Of course. Jennifer, I'm not the kind of man to sleep with a woman without some type of emotional bond. That’s the only reason I agreed to do it. I knew she was determined to prove something to herself. So as a friend, I wanted to keep her safe, that way she didn't get used or abused."

Jennifer was dumbfounded. She hadn't had many people in life that cared enough to do something for another person without strings. She could tell he loved this Monroe of his. She had to be something special and was apparently memorable enough to be able to keep a home fire lit within this man’s heart. But she really wanted to know something else.

"So did ya'll sleep together later on? Recently?"

"Yes we have, every now and again between relationships. The last time was about a year ago. I had broken up with my ex and she was single too."

  "Okay, so you're rebound buddies?"

Riordan chuckled. "Yeah, I guess that’s what you could call it. But I do want to know more about you."

"Well my history isn't nearly as colorful as yours." Jennifer was pretty sure he knew his way around a woman and here she was naïve as a newborn lamb in comparison.

"Mmm... it's not as exploit filled as you might think. Really, you would have fingers left over. Promise."

Jennifer laughed at the idea. By no means was she calling him a man whore, but the idea that he had less than ten lovers was ludicrous. There was no way she would fall for that one. "Alright, here you go." Extending a leg in front, she continued, "Pull that one too."

Riordan shocked her when he cradled the proffered ankle in one hand and tugged at it before he let the limb go. What didn’t shock her about the exchange was the starburst of pleasure she felt with the playful gesture. He set her on fire upon sight, so why shouldn’t his hands elicit a like response on her flesh?

"Thanks, needed that." Riordan said. His dimples were ju
st as deep as she thought they would be earlier in the day and the divots had even more effect on her libido than she thought possible.

"You are really insane." Jennifer merely shook her head at his antics.

"Nah, I just like having a good time." Riordan turned to face Jennifer, who was surprised to find herself enjoying her first real, honest-to-god, date with a man. On almost every outing she had before today, it was a blind date, and normally a friend of a friend type thing.

She didn't realize Riordan was asking her a question, until she heard, "--must not be very interesting if you're zoning out on me."

Jennifer felt like a doofus, here she was alone with one of the most attractive men she'd seen not on TV, and she decides to go down a trip on memory lane. "Please it's not you, I promise."

"I'll forgive you on one condition."

  "Which is?"

"That you go out with me tomorrow and Friday night." Jennifer agreed as she smiled shyly and nodded.

"Am I to take it that means yes?"
