Stop the Coming Civil War: My Savage Truth

by Michael Savage

While you’ll find that I focus attention on Barack Obama, the book is about much more than simply the president. His election wouldn’t have been possible without the help of both Democrats and Republicans, and he wouldn’t be able to implement his agenda without the aid of a broad network of people and organizations around the world who support his attempts to undermine our country.

Civil war is the most dangerous and destructive event that can occur in any country. It invariably involves atrocities committed by both sides against their own fellow citizens, atrocities like those that could have ignited in Nevada.

In August 1863, Quantrill’s Raiders, a band of rebel guerrilla soldiers, attacked the town of Lawrence, Kansas, massacring some two hundred men and boys and stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the townspeople. In an 1864 battle, the Fort Pillow Massacre, more than three hundred African-American soldiers were killed—many as they stood weaponless with their hands raised—after the garrison had surrendered.

Union soldiers were equally murderous. In early September 1864, the city of Atlanta surrendered to the Union’s Maj. Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman. Some fourteen thousand residents, mostly older men, women, and children, watched helplessly as Sherman’s troops burned the great Southern city to the ground. Only ten percent of Atlanta’s buildings escaped the inferno.

In the ensuing weeks and months, Sherman’s troops marched to Savannah, leaving a swath of destruction forty miles wide across Georgia. Buildings were burned, family farms pillaged, innocents murdered. In no small measure, Lincoln’s reelection that November came on the wings of Sherman’s so-called glorious victory. Sherman’s March might have been the most unholy act perpetrated on the American people by one of its own. But when voices rose in outrage, even some from the North, Lincoln not only turned a deaf ear, he ordered the censoring of news stories, to which a compliant Associated Press acquiesced.8

Now, 150 years later, a situation very similar to the one we faced before the Civil War is taking shape in America. While we are still enjoying relative peace, there are subterranean rumblings that portend danger ahead. The outrageous acts to which many have become numb remind us of the months and years before the outbreak of the Civil War. In the words Thomas Corwin addressed to Abraham Lincoln on January 16, 1861, “I cannot comprehend the madness of the times.… Treason is in the air around us everywhere. It goes by the name of patriotism.”

As I see it, the state of our union is in the most perilous position it’s been in since the 1860s. We are under assault from both inside and out as our government moves to consolidate its domestic power while at the same time weakening our defenses against the growing power of our global enemies. And all the while, the liberal government media complex watches the storm clouds gather with few keystrokes of reportage, outrage, or resistance.

By now, many of you have realized that we’ve come to a situation that may threaten our very existence as a nation. This is what will inevitably ensue if we fail to stand up against the forces committed to making it happen.

Stop the Coming Civil War: My Savage Truth is the most important book you will read this year. These pages contain what stands between us and ruin. It is imperative that you understand and put into practice what I say in these pages.

You must spread the word among your friends, neighbors, and family.

You must display this book on buses, on trains, on your coffee tables.

You must engage others in discussions about what I write here.

It may represent the last best chance we have to take back our country.

It may be the last best chance we have to avoid a second civil war.

I would add one more warning here: None of us has any control over the course of events. There’s a gap between the time this book was delivered to the publisher and its release to the public. This book is a preamble to those events. I hope that the coming civil war that I predict does not happen, but I fear that the events leading up to it will continue to play out as this book is prepared for release. I hope that it will reach the public before the start of a second civil war in this country, and I hope that it will be instrumental in enabling us to avoid that outcome.

Only here will you get the whole truth no one else is telling.

Only in these pages will you will find all the facts about the coming civil war that is currently developing.

Only here will you get the Savage Truth.

  CHAPTER 3

The War on Our Borders, Language, and Culture

Do you know what this administration means when it talks about “humane” enforcement of immigration laws? It means that it’s freeing tens of thousands of illegal aliens who have been convicted of serious crimes, including nearly 200 homicides, more than 400 sexual assaults, thousands of thefts and kidnappings, and more than 10,000 drug and drunk-driving convictions. The administration has allowed more than 36,000 convicted criminals who should have been deported to return to America’s streets.

If you’ve listened to my show, The Savage Nation, you know the importance I place on the preservation of our borders, language, and culture. And you know that this administration has done more to further the left’s war against America by attempting to destroy these three foundation blocks of our republic than any other administration in our history.

When I speak to you about protecting our borders, language, and culture, I speak to you as a first-generation American. My ancestors didn’t come over on the Mayflower. They came over from Russia in third-class steerage. They worked hard and died young. They learned to speak English, and they learned America’s ways. They were true immigrants.

But the immigrants of the past are not the same as the immigrants today. I understand that the situation is different now than it was nearly a hundred years ago, but the fundamentals of immigration are the same: You come as a guest and then muster up every ounce of compliance and determination you can until you earn your full-time status.

This is not the immigration formula under the current administration. Their idea of immigration is to grant amnesty to those who have crossed our borders illegally.

I oppose amnesty for many reasons. First, we need to guarantee national security. Not all terrorists fly into the United States in jets. Some of them make their way to Mexico and then walk into the country. This is one of the most important reasons I oppose amnesty.

We must close the borders down. This should be our highest priority.

But we also have high unemployment, and 13 million Americans are receiving disability benefits. By giving jobs to noncitizens, we’re not only taking away the diminishing employment opportunities that exists in the United States, we’re supplying more of an excuse to those too lazy to look for work.

And third, 47 percent of Americans pay no income tax—yes, the same 47 percent made famous by a truthful Mitt Romney. Do we really need to add to their ranks?

After illegal aliens are taken into custody, they’re held in detention centers until their cases can be resolved. That’s resulted in overcrowding. Do you know how immigration officials are dealing with that? They’re giving women and minors documentation that allows them to travel anywhere in the United States, then releasing them from custody while telling them they must appear for immigration hearings in the future.1

In addition to overcrowded detention centers, illegals are overwhelming many of our emergency rooms and schools. New immigrants are naturally aligned with liberals and socialism. That means more votes for Democrats.

I don’t see these people as aliens, but as human beings. Many of them are wonderful, churchgoing people with strong families. And yet I tell you: Amnesty will destroy America. The biggest victims will be our poor citizens, white and black.

The situation came to a head for me during the 2014 Super Bowl.

Now, I have nothing against all the languages spoken on the Earth—I just prefer English spoken in America. But when I saw the Super Bowl multicultural, multilingual Coca-Cola ad, I wanted to smash
my television in with a brick. Coca-Cola should fire whoever came up with the idea for the ad. Better yet, they should be deported.

The commercial opened with “America the Beautiful” sung by a beautiful female voice. There were images of a pickup truck, cowboys, and horses. It was very moving. Then, all of a sudden, the anthem was being sung in a different language, and then another language, and then another. It was in Hindi, Senegalese, and Arabic. As the language changed so did the images. Instead of cowboys, you had women in burkas and two “dads” roller-skating with their daughter. It was the first Super Bowl ad to feature a gay family, according to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).

Let me explain why this ad was not patriotic. If you were to show a Coca-Cola ad in China and start to play the Chinese national anthem in Mandarin, and then suddenly broke into English and other languages, the Chinese would burn down the theater. If you’re gay, and you have an adopted daughter and you want to roller-skate with her, be my guest. I don’t think it’s right, but I’m not going to fight you about it. But I do care when Coca-Cola makes you emblematic of the country that I love. You’re not emblematic. I’m an American. And I’m sick and tired of having to make excuses for the USA. This has gone too far. Stop debasing our most cherished possession: our pride in our country.

The reason Coke can get away with a commercial like this is because we now live in a country whose moral fiber degenerates by the minute. This administration’s relentless assault on our borders, language, and culture has expanded to include an assault on every one of our fundamental values and institutions. They are determined to destroy a once righteous and heroic America and replace it with a leftist government defined by immorality and greed.

Obama’s Immigrant Surge Threatens to Destroy America

How far has it gone? Let me tell you a true story about an illegal alien suing the people who rescued him.

In September 2013, floodwaters submerged the car Roy Ortiz was driving outside the town of Lafayette, Colorado. Heroes from the North Metro Fire Department risked their lives by diving into what had become a raging river. How did Ortiz display his gratitude to those who rescued him from certain death? He filed a notice of intent to sue the town and those who saved his life for $500,000. He claims signs should have been posted warning drivers of the danger and that crews should have realized he was trapped in his car and pulled him out sooner than they did. The North Metro Fire Department responded this way to Ortiz’s intent to sue: “I’m sure it was a traumatic experience for [Ortiz],” their spokesperson said. “Ultimately, we were just very grateful we were able to save his life that day.”2

Shortly after the intent to sue was filed in March 2014, Ortiz’s attorney admitted to Fox News that his client was in the country illegally.3

Ortiz is one of millions of illegal immigrants who are attempting to find ways to game the system in the U.S., taking advantage of a federal government that is bypassing the law to make it possible for illegals to stay in this country and receive food, welfare money, medical care, and education for their children at taxpayer expense.

A week after Ortiz announced his lawsuit, young Mexicans marched through the streets of Tijuana to the Otay Mesa crossing in San Diego, where they tried to cross into the United States even though they didn’t have legal documentation to do so. They were protesting what they claimed to be a rising rate of deportations of illegal immigrants. The protesters blocked two traffic lanes at the crossing.4 They called themselves “dreamers” after the DREAM Act, which would have given young illegals the right to stay in this country. When the DREAM Act didn’t pass, the president issued an executive order that, for all intents and purposes, accomplished everything drafters of the faulty bill had hoped for.

There was one little problem with the protest at the Otay Mesa crossing. Under this administration, the deportation rate isn’t increasing—it’s going down. The administration is inflating the numbers to make it look like more people are being deported than the real numbers indicate. The administration claims it has deported more than two million illegal aliens during the past five years, making it tougher than George W. Bush on illegal immigration. What this administration doesn’t tell you is that more than half of those who were supposedly deported were people who were caught trying to cross the border illegally. They had never really entered the United States. The Bush administration counted only illegals who were caught after they had already established themselves in the United States. This finagling of the numbers of illegals deported is just a smokescreen the Obama administration puts up to cover the immigration practices in which it engages. Look at us, they say. We’re abiding by the law for a change.5 But nothing could be further from the truth.

Here’s the truth: In the state of Texas alone, four field offices of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) deported more than seven thousand illegal aliens in just four years. So that doesn’t sound like such a big number, right? And it’s not, except when you consider they were deported not only because they were illegal—which in my view is reason enough to expel them—they were deported because they were sex offenders. Seven thousand illegal alien sex offenders, more than a quarter of whom had committed crimes against children.6 If these rapists and pedophiles had not been allowed into the country in the first place, nearly two thousand children—not to mention five thousand other victims, mostly women—would have been spared the terrible consequences they suffered at the hands of these criminals.

Barack Obama’s dreamers? More like a living nightmare.

Do you know how much gall these people possess? Even the ones who have already been deported show no respect for our country. In early March 2014, a group of some 250 deportees who had lived much of their lives in the United States illegally staged a protest march. They chanted “undocumented and unafraid” as they attempted to cross from Tijuana to San Diego. The demonstrators demanded entry and called the U.S.-Mexico border “arbitrary.”7

That’s how much respect they have for our borders.

They have even less respect for themselves.

There has been a dramatic increase in the number of children unaccompanied by adults who are crossing the Mexican border and entering the United States illegally. The reason this is happening? The White House gives de facto amnesty to foreign children in the country illegally through its DREAM Act–inspired executive order. The federal government provides what amounts to a babysitting service for unaccompanied children in the country illegally with no parent or adult to care for them. In 2013 that number reached nearly twenty-five thousand, almost double that of the previous year.

The fact remains that under Obama administration policies, immigrants are more likely to be allowed to stay here when they enter this country illegally than when they do it legally. Even though Obama’s executive order supposedly applies only to children who have been here for at least five years, the White House and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are not going to refuse entry and/or support to any minors who enter the country without permission.8

Even though the administration has already softened its deportation policy and is not deporting as many illegals as it says it is, DHS officials are planning to make it even easier for illegals to stay here. The president says he is pushing for “more humane” enforcement of DHS policy.

Do you know what the president means when he talks about “humane” enforcement? He means that he’s freeing tens of thousands of illegal aliens who have been convicted of serious crimes, including nearly 200 homicides, more than 400 sexual assaults, thousands of thefts and kidnappings, and more than 10,000 drug and drunk-driving convictions. The administration freed more than 36,000 convicted criminals who should have been deported and allowed them to return to America’s streets.9

That’s what the president calls “humane.”

How about being more humane to Americans who can’t find a job? How about being more humane to American citizens who suffer because emergency ro
om services are overwhelmed by the onslaught of illegal aliens? How about being more humane to the people you were elected to be humane to?

Our president seems to care more about the health-care status of illegal aliens—whom he has repeatedly tried to recruit for Obamacare to inflate the numbers of his signature legislation—than he does about American citizens. In an interview on a Spanish-language sports radio station that should have sparked outrage among American citizens, he explained that Hispanics here illegally don’t need to worry about being deported if they try to sign up for Obamacare:

Well, the main thing for people to know is that any information you get, you know, asked with respect to buying insurance, does not have anything to do with… the rules governing immigration. You know, if you have a family where some people are citizens or legally here, and others are not documented, the immigration people will never get that information.10

New DHS secretary Jeh Johnson isn’t about to disagree and recently encouraged illegals “to come out from the shadows.” Shortly after taking office, Johnson explained that illegals are “here, and they’re not going away.”11 Of the estimated—I would say “underestimated”—11 million illegal aliens currently in the country, Johnson says they’ve “earned the right to be citizens.” In Johnson’s view, allowing illegals an unimpeded path to citizenship is “a matter of who we are as Americans.”12

As I see it, the fact that they’re costing us billions each year by sponging off the U.S. welfare system and overwhelming our medical care facilities doesn’t seem to factor into his assessment of illegals in our country.
