Stop the Coming Civil War: My Savage Truth

by Michael Savage

The situation in Ukraine has been painted as a conflict between Vladimir Putin’s Russia (the so-called bad guys) and Ukrainian rebels (the so-called good guys) who seek to oust Russia from a position of influence in Ukraine and install a new government that will be responsive to the Ukrainian people.

Don’t believe a word of it.

The Ukrainian nationalists are fascists. Washington’s original purpose for staging a coup in Ukraine was to move Ukraine away from Russia and bring Ukraine into the EU. In other words, the neocons and the bought-and-paid-for “moderates” in the Obama administration wanted to wrest control of Ukraine from Putin’s hands and gain economic and energy control over the country. As one commentator has pointed out, Western nations, with the United States leading the way, have been provoking Putin for decades. We’ve expanded NATO to include former Soviet states—Ukraine looks like the next target—and we’ve attacked allies of Russia, including Libya and Iraq. The United States, along with other Western nations, through our incursions into the politics, economics, and national security of Russia and several of its allies, has effectively caused the situation that resulted in Putin standing ready to invade Ukraine militarily if necessary.48

Putin is certainly not a good guy, but he is not the villain in this. The Jews have always been the canaries in the coal mine of human rights in Russia, and Putin has been better to Russian Jews than any other Russian leader in the past century. With the elected government now driven out of Ukraine, the anti-Semitic U.S.-backed fascist thugs who have assumed control are vandalizing synagogues and threatening the lives of Jews in Ukraine.

Do you know what Obama did only a week after his administration succeeded in engineering the takeover of the Ukrainian government by Islamist radicals? First, he made the empty gesture of restricting the ability of a dozen Russians to travel to the United States. In answer to this, Putin mocked Obama by restricting the rights of several U.S. politicians to travel to Russia. But more important, at the same time Obama has been relaxing the requirements on Islamist terrorists to travel to America, he’s increasing his rejection of Israelis who want to travel to the United States.

  Do you understand that?

Obama is increasing our ability to be infiltrated by terrorists while he’s denying our allies, the Israelis, the ability to travel here.

It began when the United States restricted the rights of young Israelis who had completed their military service in Israel to travel here. By 2012, the ban had extended to all Israeli students. Even Sen. Charles Schumer complained, saying in a letter to John Kerry that the “State Department policy of categorically denying young Israelis tourist visas makes it nearly impossible for any young Israeli to visit the U.S.”49 For once, Schumer was right.

Obama’s attempts at thwarting Putin have essentially forced him to deploy military assets to Crimea and to annex that country. Crimea is an important region that Russia ceded to Ukraine in the 1950s, when the USSR was reaching the height of its power and Ukraine was one of its puppet states.

Let me give you some background that will help you understand what went on in Russia, Ukraine, and Crimea after the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s. After Ukraine achieved independence and Crimea was ceded to Ukraine, state-owned assets of the Soviet Union were privatized. This is where the term oligarchs, which you hear used so often in discussions about the Ukrainian conflict, comes into play. Those state-owned business and utilities were transferred into the hands of a small group of powerful, politically connected individuals, who effectively took control of Russia’s economy. Russia became a capitalist country in one sense of the word, but the private ownership of the country’s assets was transferred to a small group of cronies who quickly became among the richest and most powerful businessmen in the world. The Russian oligarchs continue in that role today.

The Russian oligarchs are a critical component in determining the outcome of the Russia-Ukraine situation, because they essentially monopolize the precious metal, chemical, and energy industries in Ukraine. While their power was weakened in Russia as the country’s government became more and more centralized, especially under Putin, no such thing happened in Ukraine. In that country, the oligarchs still hold tremendous power and can sway the country politically. Every major political hopeful, from presidential candidates to those hoping for seats in parliament, are connected closely to one or more of the oligarchs. Among the first people Ukrainian presidential candidate “Klitsch” Klitschko met with was Rinat Akhmetov, the richest man in Russia.50

Russia’s annexation of Crimea is also important relative to Ukraine. The majority population in Crimea is Russian, and its warm-water Black Sea ports are critical to Russian military and trade interests. Russia could not afford to let the Crimean region fall into the hands of the insurgents who have taken over Ukraine, something Obama and his foreign-policy know-nothings seem not to have anticipated.

In addition to annexing and deploying military assets in Crimea in the face of the Ukraine insurgency, Putin has contacted his allies in at least eight other strategically located countries in order to assure that Russia has access to those countries’ military facilities so Putin’s forces can extend their long-range naval and strategic bomber capabilities. In other words, the U.S. interference in Ukrainian politics has resulted in Putin’s expanding his military influence, while at the same time Barack Obama is bent on decimating our military in the middle of the Ukrainian crisis. The Pentagon is planning on reducing our military capacity to pre–World War II levels, shrinking the number of soldiers in uniform from its current 520,000 to as few as 440,000 soldiers.51 As the U.S. military budget was once again being gutted, China announced it was increasing its annual military budget by 12.2 percent in order to fund its effort to continue to modernize the Chinese military.52

The president seems to be in the dark about what the conflict in Ukraine means. Nuland and Rice, two of the women who seem to make so many critical decisions of this administration, seem to have told him to blame Putin, and that appears to be what he’s done.

It is my opinion that the Russian and Ukrainian people are at grave risk from the Ukrainian nationalists and Chechen Islamic jihadists into whose hands the United States has placed the fate of Ukraine, and Putin has called on his allies to assist him in expanding his military presence around the world.

That differs greatly from the way the United States handled the Ukrainian situation. Did John Kerry consult with Congress before he delivered his message to Russia? Were the EU and NATO countries consulted? They’re the ones whose economies and political integrity are at risk here. And does Kerry even understand that the U.S. policy of taunting Russia raises the risk of war? And with that in mind, did he even bother to think of talking with our allies around the world—from Japan to Australia, from Canada to Mexico—who would be adversely affected if we were drawn into war?

The answer is no. A small group of insiders in the U.S. government who have strong allegiances to a powerful group that favors war are running our foreign policy. And it’s our allies who are most likely to be damaged by it.

Where U.S. interests are open to being undermined, George Soros is never far from the action. Soros funds the Open Society Foundations, which provides grants to agencies in EU countries that are actively working to undermine Russia. In a piece he wrote recommending that the EU intervene economically to help keep Ukraine financially viable, Soros had this to say:

The EU, along with the International Monetary Fund, is putting together a multi-billion-dollar rescue package to save the country from financial collapse. But that will not be sufficient to sustain the national unity that Ukraine will need in the coming years.… Ukraine will need outside assistance that only the EU can provide: management expertise and access to markets.53

The administration is sending the same message to American citizens themselves as he’s sending to our enemies, and Americans are starting to realize that they’re being treated with the same level of suspicion as k
nown terrorists are treated.

Members of the Saudi royal family have issued the most accurate characterization of the state of U.S. international relations:

The U.S. has to have a foreign policy. Well-defined, well-structured. You don’t have it right now, unfortunately. It’s just complete chaos. Confusion. No policy. I mean, we feel it. We sense it, you know.54

We’re seeing American foreign policy at its nadir.

  CHAPTER 11

The Savage Truth: Stopping the Coming Civil War

We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness.

  —Ronald Reagan

  The World Liberal Revolution

This book is not just about the coming civil war in America; it’s also about the conflict that the current administration is pushing in the name of a broader worldwide liberal revolution. As I see it, the forces of the left are attempting nothing less than a socialist takeover of the world economy and global politics.

This world liberal revolution is what the tens of millions of conservative, law-abiding Americans are fighting against, often without even knowing it.

We are the equivalent of the anticommunists who fought Stalin.

The conservatives in our country, those who still believe in the family, in personal and religious freedom, in the Constitution of the United States, who are standing up to an increasingly overbearing federal government… we are the new resistance.

  Everything is at stake.

Unless this power grab is arrested, we will all become serfs to the new world order.

In the Soviet Union, if a person did not comply with the dictates and politics of the Communist Party, at first they were ignored. That meant that any reference to them disappeared from the Soviet newspaper Pravda.

I, Michael Savage, am the most famous media personality in the history of the San Francisco Bay area. Starting with a local show twenty years ago, I became famous for my writings and my radio show, which is now syndicated nationally and carried by more than two hundred stations around the United States.

Yet in the San Francisco Bay area, I am ignored.

I’m almost never mentioned by the local newspaper or in the local media.

  It’s as though I don’t exist.

I’m in the liberal gulag, a gulag in which the only things that are permitted to be talked about are actors, singers, sports figures, degenerates, anti-Americans, occupiers, and Democrats—these are the only “heroes” the American media will talk about. Those who oppose the individual freedoms championed by Western civilization are considered heroes, while those of us who uphold Western values are looked upon as the enemy.

Unless this liberal revolution is stopped, and turned back, there will be a civil war in the United States, which is more than likely to be crushed by a leftist government that is already preparing to quell what it anticipates will be massive civil unrest.

How Serious Has the Situation Become?

“You and I have a rendezvous with destiny,” Ronald Reagan, the greatest president of this era, once promised. “We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness.”

We’re six years deep into the abyss that Reagan warned us about, and we have reached the point of no return. If we continue down this road to ruin, for even one year more, we may never see the light again.

Not since the run-up to the Civil War have we as a country been more divided. The battle lines have been drawn:

  The haves against the have-nots.

The illegal aliens against hardworking middle-class families.

Liberals who hate the Second Amendment versus lawful gun owners, millions of whom are refusing to register their weapons and ammunition in states like Connecticut.

Climate activists whose policies cause forest fires and exacerbate drought against those who understand that the effect of human activity on the climate is negligible.

Anti-Christian communist educators against god-fearing families.

  Republicrats against patriots.

Yes, you heard me. It was Brutus who stabbed Caesar, Judas who gave Christ up to the Romans. It’s always the ones closest who do the most damage when they turn.

Do you understand what I’m saying?

The see-through conservatives who rule the Republican Party are in league with Democrats, it’s as simple as that. Why would they allow Lois Lerner of the IRS to plead the Fifth time after time and to destroy the hard drives on her computers? Why would they look the other way while Democratic operatives within federal agencies blatantly target patriots from the Tea Party with impunity? Why do Republican Party leaders cave again and again to Obama’s agenda?

The answer is actually very simple.

  They are on his side.

Listen to what Ted Cruz has to say: “At this point with grassroots conservatives around the country it’s a close vote between who they distrust the most, the president, John Boehner, or Mitch McConnell.”

Even if this criminal administration falls short of what I think is its goal of seeing Americans fighting Americans in all-out civil war on American soil, Obama’s disregard for the rule of law marches us at the very least further along toward a mid-twenty-first-century dictatorship.

We are becoming the Union of Soviet States of America: the USSA.

I’ve mentioned the fact that most Republicans now agree that we should become members of the “global community.” It’s not a coincidence that the phrase “global community” is synonymous with the word communism, or that Barack Obama got his start as a community organizer. Communism has never been anything but a group of power-crazed leftists bent on depriving the citizens under their control of all of their rights and property while transferring those to an all-powerful central government.

Barack Obama, the Democratic Party, and establishment Republicans are bent on nothing less.

It begins, as most moves toward communism do, in our schools. It took the left a century to commandeer our education system, from grade schools to our universities.

From Franklin D. Roosevelt’s starting the entitlement society to Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society and the gradual degradation of the U.S. Supreme Court, the leftist takeover has continued relentlessly. Obama’s election to the presidency in 2008 might represent the final nail in the coffin of freedom unless we continue to persevere against the threats that we now face.

What I see as Obama’s drive to weaken America while he incapacitates the American people is not something that’s in our remote future. We’re living our future right now.

Like every communist country, we’ve become a surveillance state in which the NSA can track our every move. If the KGB had had the technology that is now being used to monitor every American’s daily activities, we’d all be speaking Russian.

Obama has taken an economy that had been gradually moving toward socialism for decades and accelerated the process exponentially, driving it into the ground as his appointees now regulate everything from the press, to student loans, to spending on medical care. Like the oligarchs who took control of the Russian economy after the fall of the Soviet Union, Obama’s political cronies have been given billions of our dollars in return for their support of his campaigns. The cash disappears down the rat hole of the bankrupt green-energy companies run by the president’s cronies. Those who benefited from the Solyndra scandal have never been brought to justice.

Obama presents himself as the symbol of American pop culture, debasing the once proud and respected office he holds by appearing on TV talk and variety shows like The View and The Tonight Show. He does everything from slow-jamming the news to defending the mommy jeans he wore when he threw out the first pitch at an All-Star game. His “interview” with stoner talk show host Zach Galifianakis was a mockery of the presidency.

His administration has tightened its hold
on Americans’ freedoms by imposing limits on everything from political speech to gun ownership to running a business to how we educate our children. Instead of reinforcing “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,” government administrators are invading our privacy, censoring the media as no administration in our history has ever done, and confiscating and redistributing our wealth.

Stalin had his reeducation camps. Obama’s got the U.S. education system.

Obama takes matters into his own hands, making and changing laws and policy unilaterally. And as he does, a compliant Congress sits quietly and does nothing. “There’s not been a whimper of regret or opposition of any substance coming from Congress,” said one constitutional law professor. “To watch their power usurped by another branch, you would think, would concentrate the minds of all members.”1

From more than three dozen illegal and unconstitutional executive-order delays to his own health-care legislation to the political profiling of conservative groups by the IRS to his illegal recess appointments of judges and NLRB members to enacting the DREAM Act after it had been rejected by Congress, Obama’s presidential corruption and his usurpation of congressional authority have surpassed what even those of us who understand Obama could have imagined.

His first lieutenant, DoJ head Eric Holder, leads an organization whose attorneys have committed more than 650 ethical violations, according to the DoJ’s own Office of Professional Responsibilty.2

And when you look beyond his domestic policy, you find a foreign policy that makes Jimmy Carter look like Gen. George Patton. From the Middle East to North Africa to Ukraine, Obama has made every potentially fatal error you can imagine when it comes to protecting our national interests. Despots laugh out loud when Obama opens his mouth to chastise them for not adhering to “global community standards” as they commit terrorist acts that kill U.S. soldiers, Christians, and even their own Muslim brothers and sisters in the name of an Islamic jihad that Obama is unwilling to recognize, let alone admit, even exists.
