Quita took the hint and went to the kitchen to heat up her now cold breakfast in the microwave. After she finished eating she lit up a cigarette. Kali was still on the couch knocked out. Quita started to grow impatient with the whole situation. It was already twelve fifty and there was still no sign of Black and Bay-Bay, or Lexi for that matter.
Quita picked up her phone and dialed Lexi’s cell.
“What up!” Lexi answered.
“Where you at girl?” Quita asked.
“I’m pulling up right now. I’ll be right up.” She told Quita hanging up the phone.
Lexi came in the crib with a Philly blunt in hand.
“What up ho?” She asked.
“Waiting on these niggas to get here so we can bounce and get this shit over with.”
“I feel ya girl.” Lexi said.
Kali woke up at the smell of the gunja Lexi had brought over.
“What up Lexi? Lemme hit that. I need to wake up.” Kali said.
“I’m fine, but on the real Kali you wanna wipe all that shit off ya mouth first,” Lexi laughed pointing to the slobber on the side of Kali’s mouth.
“Man, fuck you Lexi! Pass the dro,” Kali told her while wiping her mouth.
Kali took the blunt out of Lexi’s hand and took a long, hard drag in an attempt to get high quick.
“Quita what time is it?” Kali yelled to her from the patio.
“Girl its one fuckin’fifteen,” Quita yelled in response.
“Fuck, them niggas ain’t called yet? What the fuck they doing?” Kali said.
“Bay-Bay not even answering his phone. I think it’s turned off ‘cause it keeps going straight to the voicemail. Fuck it they will be here. For now Kali can you puff, puff pass greedy,” Quita said.
They all sat there and talked shit while Lexi filled them in on all the details of her revenge plot on Jade and J-Roc’s grimey asses.
“Girl, I couldn’t have came up with something so smooth,” Quita admitted.
“I told you I would handle that shit. I just needed sometime to think,” Lexi said.
“Quita, I hope y’all’s men ain’t standing us up, ‘cause it’s almost two.”
“Nah Lexi. They will be here. Trust me.” Quita said to reassure her.
Kali was pissed because she knew that Black was just being an asshole, and probably with his wife. This nigga was married! She never told anybody about her findings not even her sisters. She was too embarassed.
She found out that Black was married one weekend they had went to Virginia Beach and his dumb ass called wifey from the hotel room. She called back while he was in the shower and Kali answered the phone.
When she told Kali who she was Kali quickly disconnected the call and unplugged the phone from the wall so didn’t get through the next time she tried to call.
Finding out Black was married fucked Kali up in the worst way. She was heart broken because she wanted to be with him on a serious level. Kali knew she had let the thought go because the chances of a man leaving his wife were slim to none.
“Quita look and see if them niggas outside,”Kali said getting impatient.
Quita got up and went to the patio window to see if she saw any sign of Black and Bay-Bay.
“Fuck!” She cursed out loud.
“What?” Kali and Lexi screamed in unison.
“They still not here. All I see is a fucking mini van.” Quita turned away from the window but decided to look back. She was glad she did.
“Oh shit y’all!” She yelled. This time Kali and Lexi hopped off the couch to see what she saw. It was Black getting out of the front seat of the caravan.
“What the fuck is he driving that for?” Quita asked.
“Shid, I dunno. He could have come to get us in something better than that.” Kali shook her head.
“Well, whatever. I’m just glad they finally got here. I’m ready to go,” Lexi said excitingly.
They all backed away from the window so he wouldn’t see them scoping him out. Kali’s phone started going off.
“Hello.” She answered.
“Come on, let’s roll,” Black said.
“Damn, you can’t even speak?” Kali questioned.
“Look we’re already running behind schedule, so just bring your asses. We’ll talk later.” He disconnected the call. Kali was mad as hell. She hung up the phone and they all grabbed their bags and headed to the van.
Chapter 17
The entire ride to New York was quiet, except for the conversation between Quita and Lexi. Kali wasn’t even talking that much. All she would do is comment on something Quita or Lexi said.
When they finally arrived to New York Lexi was going crazy with excitement. She had never been out of West Virginia before, so this was definitely new for her.
‘Damn, I thought I was excited on my first trip to the Big Apple! She got me beat.’ Quita thought to herself.
Black spoke in his baritone voice to Lexi.
“Yo Lexi, Kali told me you never been out of town before, but I need you to relax. This here is a business trip. I need you to stay focused,” Black told her.
Lexi felt like a little kid being scolded for misbehaving in class.
“I’m sorry,” she said suddenly embarrassed.
Quita put her middle finger up behind his back and she and Lexi started laughing. Kali was sitting in the passenger seat biting her nails afraid to say a word.
“Damn Black, lighten up! You didn’t have to snap at her like that,” Kali said to him. Black looked at Kali chewing on his bottom lip.
“Watch ya fucking mouth!” He told her through gritted teeth.
Lexi looked over at Quita, and she just shrugged her shoulders. Quita wanted to say something to him so bad she could taste it, but she knew that Kali would bite her damn head off if she butted in their business. Quita decided to stay out of it.
Kali just turned and faced the front of the car. Her feelings were hurt and she was embarrassed. A single tear fell from the corner of her right eye. She wiped it before anyone had a chance to see it.
Quita cleared her throat.
“Where is my baby at?” She asked Black in an attempt to clear the tension that was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Black just ignored her all together.
Quita and Lexi checked out the scenary enjoying every bit of their vacation. They arrived at the Waldorf Astoria where they all would be staying. Lexi was even more excited than before. This time she grabbed Quita’s arm and started squeezing it instead of saying anything.
When they walked right past the front desk Quita figured they must have already got the rooms. When they got upstairs Black handed the hotel key to Kali and headed to the joined room next door.
Kali took the key and shook her head at Black as he entered his room.
“Come on lady’s this is our room 1169.” Kali said looking at the number on the door. Quita looked at Kali and knew something was bothering her because her bright yellow complexion was now red and flushed as if she wanted to cry.
They entered the room and unpacked their bags. They figured they would at least be there for a good four or five days, so they might as well get comfortable.
Quita went straight for the fully stocked mini bar. It was filled with all kinds of drinks.
“Come on y’all. Let’s play some dominos,” Quita suggested.
“Shit, fuck that. I’m trying to hit the club scene. I know they got way better shit up here than we got back home.” Lexi was pumped, and ready to find out what it’s like to party in New York City.
“Lexi we gonna step out before we leave, but for now you gotta hold on for a few days and get this money,”Quita told her.
“Man, y’all some party poopers.” Lexi told them pouting.
“Kali, what’s wrong with you?” Lexi asked.
Kali just looked at her crazy to let her know that she didn’t fell like talking.
“My bad girl, I’ll leave you alone,” Lexi said taking the hint.

Game two in dominos Lexi was up one and winning this one too. She and Quita were neck and neck on game two and Kali was playing horribly.
“Damn is this how them niggas roll?” Lexi asked.
“What you talking ‘bout Lexi?” Quita wanted to know.
“Shit, we’ve been in this room for almost two hours and they haven’t even came over here to even say what up,” Lexi said.
“Oh well we’re here now, fuck ‘em. I see it as a paid vacation on they asses,” Quita told her.
“Give me twenty five!” Quita slammed her double five domino down to collect more points.
“Damn bitch. I knew you were holding that shit!” Lexi popped off.
“Yeah, I told you I was going to kick that ass! The first game was just a warm up. Now I’m good. Y’all better be glad we not playing for money ‘cause I would take all that shit!” Quita had a buzz and was talking shit.
“What’s wrong with you big sis?” Quita asked her.
“I’m good, what you talking ‘bout?”
“Why you being so distant?”Quita pushed.
“Bitch I’m good! Just shut up and play the game,” Kali said with an attitude.
“Why you trippin’ Kali? We’re trying to have some fun and you’re acting like a bitch,” Quita said.
“Quita, are you drunk?” Kali asked her.
“Fuck you Kali! I’m just concerned about you ‘cause I can tell something is bothering you. On a good day you would be kicking our asses in dominos, but since you wanna act like that fuck it.” Quita shrugged her shoulders.
“Look Quita, I said I’m good. Just drop it.”
“I hope y’all don’t start tripping tonight!” Lexi interrupted.
“Don’t worry ‘bout us. Just worry ‘bout me kicking ya ass in this game!” Quita teased.
“Shit, I’m winning this game too watch,” Lexi told her.
“Yeah, you can keep on thinking that shit if you want to,” Quita shot back.
“Kali, what’s really wrong?” Quita probed.
Kali gave Quita a cold stare and slammed a domino down.
“Give me fifteen. How many times I gotta tell you Quita. I’m a big girl. I can handle myself.”
“A’ight if you feel that way I’ll back off.” Quita knew if she waited a little while longer Kali would be drunk enough to spill the beans. She decided to just shut up and play the game.
The girls just in silence and then out of nowhere and without warning Kali blurted out.
“He’s fuckin’ married.”
“Hold on Kali, what did you say?” Quita asked.
“I said he’s married.” Kali repeated.
“What the fuck you mean that nigga married Kali? What the hell is wrong with you?” Quita said going hard with the questions. Even though Quita was the baby of the three sisters she had the tendency to act like she was the oldest.
“Quita, look I don’t feel like explaining this shit to you right now so drop it. I got enough on my mind right now,” Kali spat.
“Well, excuse the fuck out of me for giving a fuck that this nigga is not only using our asses, but he beats on my sister like a fucking punching bag. To top it off he’s muthfuckin’ married. I am sooooo sorry, please forgive me,” Quita said sarcastically.
“Okay y’all that is enough. I know I might be out of line, but Kali I’ve known you just as long as I’ve known Quita, and this is not you. Why are you still fucking with that busta ass nigga if he treats you like that?” Lexi stepped in and asked her.
Kali lifted her glass and took a drink of her Hennessey and coke ignoring Lexi’s attempt to break her.
“Whew! That was good.” Kali said.
“She’s ignoring us Lexi,” Quita said.
“I see that. Let’s just let her chill.” Lexi said.
“Thank you,” Kali said to the both of them.
After that everybody kept playing the game in quiet mode. That’s until Quita slammed her last domino down.
“DOMINO BITCHES! Now what! Lexi I thought you were gonna win this game?” Quita was all up in Lexi’s face screaming. “Now what! Now what!” Quita said rubbing her victory in Lexi’s face.
“You just got lucky that’s all,” Lexi told her.
“No bitch, luck ain’t have shit to do with it. I told you my dad showed me how to play, so trust me I learned from the best!” Quita boasted.
“Hold up!” Kali rose from the table and put her hands on her hips. “Quita, you know damn well you can’t see me in dominos.”
“Shit, in your dreams. I will mop the floor with ya ass too.” Quita threw her hands in the air to add emphasis.
“Well put your money where ya mouth is ho!” Kali said challenging Quita to another game.
“A’ight ho, you can wash since you challenging me. What you trying to bet? Quita asked Kali.
“Oh, lets say a c-note,” Kali said.
“A’ight bet,” Quita told her.
“Lexi you getting in on this game?” Kali asked her.
“Nah, I’m straight. I’m ‘bout to spark this L and free my fucking mind,” she said holding her already rolled blunt in the air. Luckily she didn’t have to spark her shit because Black supplied the trees.
“Lexi, where did you tell J you were going?” Quita asked.
“Girl I told you his ass went down to the station to press charges on Jade right? “
“Yeah you did,” Quita said.
“He called and told me he was going back to his sister’s crib after he finished up, so I told him I was going down to Charleston with you and Kali for a girls day out,” Lexi said.
“Damn, you sure can lie your ass off! What did he say?” Quita asked her. Before Lexi could finish her story the hotel phone started ringing off the hook.
“Lexi answer the phone,” Kali instructed.
“Hello.”
“Yo’, who dis?” The caller asked.
“Damn, hello to you too rudeness. This is Lexi.” She said.
“Oh, my bad shorty. What up?” Bay-Bay said.
“Nothing. We’re chillin’,” she answered.
“Where’s Quita at?” He asked.
“She’s right here, hold on,” Lexi told Bay-Bay.
“Quita the phone is for you,” she said dangling the phone from her hand.
Quita sprinted to the phone knowing who it was.
“Helloooo,” She sang in into the phone.
“Hey baby. What y’all ladies doing over there?” He asked.
“Playing dominos and drinking.”
“Oh word?”
“Yeah, what y’all doing?”
“Not shit ma. Get your girls and y’all come over here so we can talk business.”
“Okay we’re on our way.” Quita hung up the phone and took another drink.
“Y’all come on Black and Bay wants us to come to their room so we can talk money,” Quita told them.
