  She kissed him. “You already have.” She tipped her bouquet toward him. “Just be prepared. I come with thorns.”

  “Ah, Coll. Haven’t you figured it out yet? That’s the reason I fell for you in the first place.”

  She raised her eyebrows. “Makes me wonder about your sanity, Nelson, I have to say.”

  He scoffed. “This coming from the woman who worked for Framus and Friends for—how many years was it?”

  “Yeah, yeah. Point taken.”

  “Should we go mingle with our family?”
