The Three Barons
Page 26
It may be misleading to attribute an air of infallibility to this document. It was published again in 1996 by Adventures Unlimited Press under the title NASA, Nazis & JFK: The Torbitt Document & the Kennedy Assassination, with an introduction by Kenn Thomas and a forward by David Hatcher Childress. Some of the same information, with variations, is to be found in an article in a magazine called the Executive Intelligence Review entitled “Permindex: Britain’s International Assassination Bureau,” by Jeffrey Steinberg and David Goldman, hereinafter EIR, which was published in 1981.
It is possible to quantify the similarities and differences between the Torbitt Document and the well-known article in the EIR. If one takes a list of names cited in each document and records the number of times the names are cited in each, the result shows a 50% correlation between the two. A list of names cited only by the EIR article and not by Torbitt are as follows:
Churchill, Winston
Eisenhower, Dwight
Gatlin, Jerry Brooks
Klein, Julius
Mantello, Georgio
Portanova, Enrico
Rosenbaum, Tibor
Sarnoff, Robert
Seligman, Hans
Soustelle, Jacques
Vesco, Robert
Names cited by Torbitt but not by the EIR are as follows:
Arcacha-Smith, Sergio
Baker, Bobby
Bowen, John
Connally, John
Daletz, Morris
Gatlin, Maurice
Hunt, H L
Jenkins, Walter
Johnson, Lyndon B
Jones, Clifford
Korth, Fred
Levinson, Ed
McKeown, Robert
McWillie, Lewis
Murchison, Clint
Soccaras, Carlos Prio
Something that one might notice first is that probably three of the twelve EIR names would likely be Jewish and also that EIR features international conspiratorial-type names like Georgio Mantello, Portanova and French OAS collaborator Jacques Soustelle. On the other hand, ten out of the sixteen which are only mentioned by Torbitt but not by EIR are Texans or Texas-connected: Baker, Connally, Hunt, Jenkins, Johnson, Jones, Korth, Levinson, McWillie and Murchison.
Another metric is to compare the correlations of both Torbitt and EIR to both of the books by Jim Garrison. There is a 60% correlation of Torbitt with both Garrison books, Heritage of Stone (1970) and On The Trail Of The Assassins (1988). But EIR correlates only 20% to the 1970 Garrison book and 40% to his 1988 book. Since the correlation increased by 20% from 1970 to 1988, one could hypothesize that Garrison picked up 20% of the information in his later book directly or indirectly from the EIR magazine article. The name Permindex does not appear in the first Garrison book but is cited five times in the second. It is the Permindex information which is most important in the EIR article. The Torbitt Document was released in 1970, just after Jim Garrison wrote his first book, Heritage of Stone.
There are two theories as to the real source of the Torbitt information. The first theory holds that it was written by the attorney for researcher and author Penn Jones who lived in Waco, Texas, whose name was David Copeland. The second theory was that someone, perhaps Copeland or Jones, had sources that included someone in the FBI or some foreign intelligence agents.
One has to keep in mind that, (according to the authors of the book Hit List), there have been over 100 witnesses or journalists murdered since the assassination in order to guarantee their silence. It is reasonable to assume that, although the Torbitt information has never been disproved, it is also likely that it is not complete. If it were, the perpetrators or the U.S. government would have found a way to suppress it one way or another, even by committing murder if necessary. Therefore, the most likely conclusion is that both the EIR and the Torbitt Document represent disinformation. In the classic manner of disinformation, half of it has to be true in order to cause its acceptance, but the other half must be withheld or else it would not be disinformation. It would be the truth.
We will now summarize the Torbitt information chapter by chapter. In later chapters, we will present more details about the EIR information and how it relates to Roy Frankhouser, who was a National Security Council agent and a CIA and FBI informant.
It is important to note that not one word of the Torbitt Document has proved false since it was published in 1970. We will now discuss only the subjects of the individual chapters in a very brief manner for the purpose of weaving the information into our overall presentation.
The first chapter deals with the entity known as Permindex. As will be discussed in later chapters, the Permindex organization was possibly started by and for ex-Nazis from WWII, with only a secondary purpose of promoting fascism generally. But leaving that aside, we will start by analyzing the information as presented in the document itself. This organization was apparently given its basic form by one of several persons. It might have been Clay Shaw, the defendant in the Garrison prosecution. It also could have been L.M. Bloomfield, a British-Canadian-FBI-Zionist figure whose personal papers have never been released by the courts to this date. Another person involved was General Julius Klein, a nefarious Zionist public relations operative whose name pops up in key places in various investigations.
The Torbitt Document lists five subsidiaries of Permindex. They are as follows:
1) The Solidarists (neo-Nazi’s, White Russians and monarchists),
2) The ACCC (a Protestant church and British Monarchy group).
3) The Free Cuba Committee of Carlos Prio Socarras (a friend of Richard Nixon’s).
4) The Joe Bonanno mafia family and their syndicate and
5) NASA (Security Division) which was, (according to Torbitt), headed by Wernher von Braun, which included DISC, (Defense Industrial Security Command) and FBI Div. 5, all under J.Edgar Hoover who was head of U.S. counter-intelligence (excluding CIA).
This last point (that von Braun headed NASA) is factually incorrect: NASA was headed by James Webb. Von Braun was head of the division of missile development at the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama, (one of 4 divisions of NASA). Later on, we will discuss in great detail the possibility of the involvement of Wernher von Braun in the assassination.
What is known is that Permindex first became active in Rome, Italy in 1958 but was very quickly expelled from there for trying to re-establish the Italian monarchy. Permindex then relocated to South Africa. Its members included a large group of conspiratorial types mainly from Europe and generally fascist in outlook. Permindex has also been accused of the several attempts on the life on Charles de Gaulle in addition to plotting and carrying out the JFK assassination.
The second chapter brings in the names of J. Edgar Hoover and Ferenc Nagy. Interestingly, in the book The American Pope: The Life and Times of Francis Cardinal Spellman, by John Cooney, Ferenc Nagy was mentioned as the former prime minister of Hungary and he was entrusted with the crown of St. Stephen, which could be used to reestablish the monarchy in Hungary. Clay Shaw (tried for the murder of JFK) and Bloomfield are also mentioned by Torbitt. Another claim, in the EIR article related to the Torbitt document, is that of General John Bruce Medaris (an anti-Semite and Nazi sympathizer) who was head of the Defense Industrial Security Command during the mid 1950’s. In a December 1957 Senate hearing, Medaris and his assistant, Wernher von Braun, denounced President Eisenhower before the Senators. They demanded that the U.S. space and missile effort be placed entirely under DISC. Ike caved in to this for a year, then switched and handed these programs over to a new civilian agency, NASA. According to authors Steinberg and Goldman, Ike also simultaneously attempted a breakup of RCA and United Fruit. According to Steinberg and Goldman, these two companies (with vast influence on U.S. foreign policy), were proprietaries of the clandestine, super-secret British S.O.E., the Special Operations Executive branch of British MI6 Intelligence. All information about the British S.O.E. post-1945 is still classified. There is no available information about the S.O.E
. since then.
According to Steinberg and Goldman, the scope of the above intrigue triggered Ike’s infamous warning of the “military-industrial complex.” Many feel this warning stemmed from Ike’s physical fear of these interests.
In the third chapter, there are added the names of Roy Cohn and General John Medaris. Roy Cohn was the sometimes-hated Chief Counsel for the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, chaired by the also sometimes-hated Senator Joe McCarthy. Medaris was a General in charge of the Army Ballistic Missile Agency and the patron of Wernher von Braun in the missile industry. Torbitt also claims that Medaris actually plotted a military takeover of the U.S. Government under Eisenhower.
The fourth chapter deals with the attempts on de Gaulle.
The fifth chapter treats the allegation that the Defense Intelligence Agency supported a rebellion of the dissident French Generals, known as the OAS, under de Gaulle. In his book on the subject cited in a previous chapter, Christian Plume supports this claim in general by reporting an offer by the CIA to provide arms for a million persons in French Algeria. Plume reproduces the text of a letter written by Kennedy which quickly reversed this offer.
The sixth chapter describes the activities of Permindex and the company Double-Chek from Miami, Florida which was used as a front by the CIA for activities in the U.S. These activities are the same ones generally repeated by researchers involving Clay Shaw, David W. Ferrie and other JFK conspirators.
The seventh chapter deals with Albert Osborne, a leader of the ACCC, which stands for American Council of Christian Churches. This organization was apparently real. Osborne was analyzed by the Warren Commission as accompanying Oswald on a trip to Mexico City.
The west coast division leader of ACCC named E.E. Bradley was indicted by Jim Garrison in New Orleans in the JFK case. The claim made about ACCC is 1) it was an organ of the British monarchy and 2) it maintained a bevy or “school” for 25 assassins in the town of Puebla, Mexico.
The eighth chapter cites Gordon Novel and Jean de Menil. This is red-hot information. First, de Menil was a “White Russian” (losers in the Russian Revolution and Russian Civil War). The White Russians in Dallas were involved up to their eyeballs in the conspiracy both before and after the assassination. Second, de Menil and his family were the owners of Schlumberger oil services company. A warehouse owned by this company in Houma, Louisiana was used by the CIA to store illicit weapons for use against Castro. More importantly, Judy Vary Baker, the author and mistress of Oswald, reports in her book Me & Lee, that Oswald was flown on the Schlumberger corporate airplane on one leg of his critical and controversial trip to Mexico City weeks before the assassination. Gordon Novel, a lesser figure, was a known bag man for assassination money around the world, specifically regarding the attempts on de Gaulle.
The ninth chapter discusses Ferenc Nagy, mentioned above and also Wernher von Braun.
The tenth chapter deals with accusations of nefarious international activities centering around such major entities as the Marshall Plan, the German Munitions Cartels, the Tryall Compound and so forth. There is a lot of smoke there but, personally, your author does not see much fire.
The eleventh chapter deals with a man named William Seymour and the agency known as the Defense Industrial Security Command (DISC). First, Seymour was an alleged Oswald double. The Oswald doubles issue leads quickly into the arena of space alien autopsies and bigfoot. There were clearly some Oswald impersonations, but the claim is made that Oswald and Seymour were indistinguishable. Not possible … unless they were identical twins separated at birth. Second, however is the issue of DISC. What most people don’t know is how fundamental defense plant security was to the FBI and British Intelligence in World War II. It would be even more so in the atomic and the missile era. However, the public and this author know absolutely nothing about how this paramount problem is handled and who handles it. So this DISC entity probably existed and operated in such a secret cocoon that we know nothing about it and will probably never know anything about it. Could DISC have organized the assassination?
So, that is a thumbnail sketch of the Torbitt File. It is apparently 100% accurate, and it is as superficially unbelievable as it is interesting.
Notes:
There are four main sources for this chapter. Their significance has been made clear in the text:

One of the most intriguing studies in the investigation of the JFK assassination is the role played by Lyndon LaRouche in (at least) the cover-up in the aftermath of the assassination. Having refined one’s skills by analyzing covert activities of all types which surround the assassination, it becomes fascinating to see how Lyndon LaRouche and Roy Frankhouser partnered in their very creative covert activities. For our purposes, the most significant of these LaRouche activities was the publication of a weekly newsmagazine by the LaRouche organization entitled “Executive Intelligence Review.”
Lyndon LaRouche was supposedly a right-wing extremist in the 1970s and 1980s. The operative word is “supposedly.” That word is appropriate because the public image created about LaRouche had nothing at all to do with his actual activities. We will explain how this deception worked and why it occurred.
Lyndon LaRouche was born September 8, 1922 in Rochester, New Hampshire. His family soon moved to Lynn, Massachusetts where young Lyndon was raised. His father, Lyndon, Sr., was born a Catholic but converted to the Quaker faith while in his teens. Being of military age when World War II broke out, Lyndon LaRouche, Jr. became a conscientious objector, owing to his Quaker background. Later, he enlisted in the Army in 1944 and served in the Burma theater.
As a youth, LaRouche was involved with ideas and theories about a variety of issues. He was obsessed with trying to analyze things and figure things out. A psychologist might look at this and suggest some sort of thought disorder. This is characterized by neologisms (inventing one’s own words), flight of ideas, illogical thinking or wandering from the topic and never returning to it. Though he was never officially medically diagnosed with this problem, he made a career of profiting from just this type of nonsensical speech and thinking.
In 1948, LaRouche applied to become a member of the Socialist Worker’s Party. The SWP, was later made famous by an even more notorious would-be member, namely Lee Harvey Oswald.
In 1954, LaRouche moved to New York and was married. He remained a member of the SWP from 1949 to 1966. LaRouche later claimed that he became an FBI informant after the 1950’s. The date when LaRouche began his relationship with the U.S. government has never been precisely determined. Estimates range from as early as 1967 to as late as 1975.
The specialty of LaRouche was ideology. As a member of the SWP, he taught classes using a three-volume edition of Das Kapital by Karl Marx. LaRouche then mig
rated from the SWP to the Students for a Democratic Society, more commonly known as the SDS. The SDS became famous mostly during the protests against the Vietnam War in the late 1960’s. LaRouche led a spin-off from the SDS known as the National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC). The NCLC became his main group for the next two decades. During that time, there were various sub-groups branching off from the NCLC for particular purposes such as running for elections and publishing books and periodicals.
At this same time, another spin-off of the SDS was an even more radical group called the Weathermen. The FBI and other law enforcement groups were involved in a virtual war against the Weathermen in the 1960s and 1970s. The Weathermen actually carried out bombings and terrorism in a campaign which became a full-fledged danger to the country.
By the early 1970’s, Lyndon LaRouche began to change his focus and he started to criticize the Rockefellers and the CIA. He used his influence in the NCLC to convert it from Communist to Fascist, which would have been a nearly impossible feat. In fact, such a conversion is prima facie ridiculous.
Since it is agreed by historians that LaRouche was in full cooperation with the FBI and the CIA by 1975, it becomes more and more obvious that in this period, the NCLC actually became a private intelligence organization run by LaRouche. It represented nothing less than a partial outsourcing of much of U.S. government intelligence. LaRouche and his group began to function in large part for the purposes of the intelligence community.
In 1975, members of the NCLC began what would be an 11-year alliance with Roy Frankhouser. Frankhouser’s activities first involved working with Dan Burros (and possibly indirectly Oswald) in New York from 1961 to 1965. Then from 1965 to 1971, he was infiltrating the KKK and the Minutemen. He gave his famous Playboy interview to Eric Norden in January, 1968. In 1972, he was ordered by the National Security Council to go to Canada and infiltrate a group of terrorists called Black September.
