  Mell Eight

When Mell Eight was in high school she wrote a short story for an English class. The assignment was for no more than five pages, yet she had turned in ten and the story wasn’t completed. Her teacher was impressed, but writing stories for fun was her main source of procrastination from homework; handing in an assignment that actually asked her to write fiction was too good to pass up. Since then Mell has continued writing, posting in many online communities for fanfiction and original fiction and eventually branching into slash fiction. She mostly writes paranormal or fantasy stories, but has been seen exploring the real world once or twice.

  J.D. Walker

J.D. Walker is a lover of art in all its forms. She loves to explore her world through writing, painting and music, among other things, and immerses herself completely in the creative process.

An author of LGBT erotic romance stories, she likes to write other stuff, too. She is a poet and lover of all things knit and crochet. Oh, and there’s that certain German crime drama series she can’t live without.

She lives in Atlanta, GA with sexy men and women at her beck and call day and night to fulfill her fantasies—or so she’d have us believe. Check out her website at www.expressionsbyjo.com/jdwalker, or send her an email at josexpressions@yahoo.com.

  Ils Greyhart

Ils Greyhart is a voracious reader who can’t get through a good story without flailing at least once, and who writes because the choice wasn’t really up for discussion. Aside from reading and writing, Ils enjoys a great deal of movement-based activities and hopes to one day be considered Parkour.

  Blaine D. Arden

Blaine D. Arden is a purple-haired, forty-something author of gay & trans* romance mixed with fantasy, mystery, and magic who sings her way through life in platform boots.

Born and raised in Zutphen, the Netherlands, Blaine spent many hours of her sheltered youth reading, day dreaming, making up stories and acting them out with her Barbies. After seeing the film “An Early Frost” as a teen in the mid-eighties, an idealistic Blaine wanted to do away with the negativity surrounding homosexuality and strove to show the world how beautiful love between men could be. Our difference is our strength, is Blaine’s motto, and her stories are often set in worlds where gender fluidity and sexual diversity are accepted as is.

When not writing or reading, Blaine has singing lessons and hopes to be in a band someday. Supporting Blaine in pursuing her dreams and all matters regarding household, sons, and cairn terrier, is her long-suffering husband for over twenty years.

  Leona Carver

Leona Carver lurks in a Canadian basement with a cat and an aerospace engineer, one of whom helps with the science while the other scratches at the window to get out. She writes novels and short stories with a penchant for genre mash-ups—because fairy tales need space stations, historical romance needs steam powered cyborgs, merpeople should wear mecha, and all of the aforementioned need a little love. Or a lot of love.

When Leona isn’t banging her head against her keyboard, she prepares for the post-apocalypse by running, kickboxing, reviving ancient dances and recipes, and training her hand-eye coordination with joysticks and a D-pad.

She can be rousted from her cave via email (leona.r.carver@gmail.com) or on her website (leonacarver.wordpress.com).

  Bettina Kaipling

What you need to know about Bettina is this: she likes writing but has a hard time making herself do it, she loves drawing but hates computer drawing programs, and she’s currently studying Russian and International Relations in college.

What you don’t need to know is that she is working on reading her way through Marvel’s comics, re-watching her favorite superhero movies as many times as possible, and making costumes so she can be a superhero too.

(Superheroes and students are both pretty nocturnal and have you ever seen Bettina and Iron Man in the same room? Probably not.)

  Cassandra Pierce

Cassandra Pierce has been a fan of romance novels and Gothic literature for most of her life, even studying the origins of the genre in college and graduate school. Before long, she got the urge to create paranormal romances of her own. When she is not writing, she teaches English at a small New England college and is active in a charity that rescues and rehomes abandoned pets.

  Talya Andor

Talya lives in the Pacific Northwest with her girlfriend and their girl-kitty who they believe to be cutest cat in the world, and is constantly balancing a busy slate of boylove stories to write with her day job, hobbies to upkeep, and nail polishes to collect. She has been writing fiction since elementary school and progressed to guy on guy erotica during college, honing her chops on fan fiction until original fiction lured her with its siren call. She loves writing and reading, routinely geeks out over gaming and movies, and watches far too many cooking shows.

You can find Talya at her website, www.talya-andor.com; twitter, @TalyaAndor; or tumblr, http://talya-andor.tumblr.com/.
