Michigan

“Yeah. Well. I’m not your little anything. Just remember that.”

Michigan grinned. “Not yet, but if I have my way, you will be soon.” Michigan chuckled when he heard Lucas’s grunt echo loudly in his ear. “So, what do you want on your pizza?” he asked again.

Lucas sighed. “I love supreme pizzas. They’re my favorite because you get everything on there. I love everything that comes on there, except onions. I really don’t like those. But if they can make the pizza without them then that’s what I want.”

Michigan grimaced. “Supreme? Are you insane? Those are disgusting.”

Lucas gasped. “What? Supreme pizzas are the greatest thing created. But since we obviously have a difference of opinion, why don’t you tell me what kind of plain, disgusting pizza you eat. Probably something boring like pepperoni or cheese.” Lucas laughed. “So, tell me, what kind of pizza do you like, doctor?”

Pleasure at the ease with which his sufletul pereche teased him, filled Michigan and he had the strongest desire to call his brothers and tell them all how perfect his mating was going. He wasn’t going to have the same issues that Dakota had suffered through with Nimo. Michigan was pretty sure that he and Lucas would be eternally bonded by the end of the night.

“No. It’s not boring. I love fettuccini alfredo pizza,” he protested as he walked over to his closet and reached up onto the top shelf to pull down the specially crafted wooden box he kept up there. He walked over to his dresser and placed the container carefully on top. Michigan ran his fingertips over the words he’d had engraved on the top of the dark cherry wood case and filled with white marble: două suflete pentru totdeauna. Two souls joined forever. Smiling to himself, he opened the box and pulled out the red mating candle to place it on the nightstand. He reached back inside and pulled out the specially crafted leather bracelets he’d made when he was twenty. The diamonds he’d had placed in the center caught the light and twinkled. He placed them in front of the candle, looking forward to placing Lucas’s bracelet on his wrist.

“Hmm. Well, I guess that’s not boring. I don’t think that I’ve actually ever tried that kind of pizza before,” Lucas stated.

“Well, see? Don’t knock it until you try it.”

Silence greeted his statement for so long that Michigan once again checked his cell phone’s screen to make sure he hadn’t lost connection with Lucas. Seeing the time counter still counting up, Michigan raised the phone back to his ear.

  “Lucas?”

“Don’t. Ever. Say. That. Again.” Lucas told him sounding breathless.

“Say what?” Michigan was confused. Did Lucas not want him to say his name or—

Michigan burst into laughter when he realized what Lucas was talking about. “Are you trying to tell me that I’m not cool enough to pull off that statement?”

Lucas began giggling and snorting, which Michigan found extremely adorable. “I can’t even pull that off and I’m sure I’m quite a bit younger than you are.”

You got that right. Michigan didn’t respond to Lucas’s words he merely tried to contain his own amusement.

“Okay, I’m going to order the pizza,” he said instead. “Why don’t you get your fine ass on your bike or in your car and get over here?”

Lucas gasped as he continued to chuckle. “O-o-oh! My stomach hurts! Stop it Michigan! You have to stop trying to sound like a hip teenager. Ugh!” Michigan shook his head as Lucas continued to snicker. “Okay. I’m on my way. See you in a bit.”

  “All right,” Michigan replied.

“Don’t knock it till you try it,” Lucas mumbled in an amused tone. “Who does he think he is? Usher or Pharrell?” He hung up the phone and Michigan tossed his phone on top of his bed, shaking his head at his sufletul pereche. He was glad he’d entertained the man so much, but how dare he imply that Michigan wasn’t cool enough to pull off that statement? Michigan was plenty cool. He was smooth. Suave. He wore and worked with leather and rode a motorcycle a lot of the time!

Turning to stare at himself in the large mirror that was connected to the back of his dresser, Michigan ran his hand down his torso. His fingers traced his thick pecs and his delineated stomach, to his half-hard cock. He rolled his eyes. “He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I’m the coolest mother fucker in Loweston, Mississippi. Hell, I’m the coolest mother fucker in the world.”

Nodding his head, Michigan grabbed his cell from the bed as he remembered he had to order the pizza. He undressed completely as he waited for Uncle Sal’s to answer.

“Uncle Sal’s Pizza. How can we treat you like family today?” the male voice on the other line answered and Michigan coughed to cover his laugh.

“Hey, Donato.” Michigan walked towards his bathroom, his half-hard dick swinging between his thighs, growing firmer as his mind began to wander towards spending the evening with Lucas.

“Oh! Doctor Sevion! We haven’t heard from you in a while. Hold on. Let me get Uncle Sal,” Donato said excitedly.

“No. Donato, that’s not necess—” Michigan sighed as Donato ignored him and yelled out for his Uncle Sal to come to the phone. Michigan turned on the hot water in his double-headed shower, stepping back out of the room so Donato and Uncle Sal wouldn’t hear it.

“Oh, Doctor! You finally call Uncle Sal again, huh? I was thinking you had started eating at that fancy restaurant and didn’t need us anymore,” Uncle Sal’s deep, husky voice came through the phone loudly and Michigan jerked the phone away from his ear for a moment.

  “What fancy restaurant?” Michigan asked.

“Donato!” Uncle Sal called out. “What’s the name of that fancy restaurant you saw the doctor at?”

  “O8!” Donato yelled back.

Michigan shook his head and rubbed his forehead. It was bad that he’d ordered from the pizza joint so often that they felt as if he were cheating on them when he went to Lucas’s restaurant once. Maybe I need to learn how to cook. Michigan almost fell to the floor at the absurdity of that thought and returned his attention to his conversation with Uncle Sal. Him? Cook? That was fucking ridiculous. He could barely make coffee in the morning without burning down his kitchen.

“My boyfriend works there, Uncle Sal. I went to support him,” Michigan stated.

“Oh! You finally found a man to love you like my Veronica loves me?” Uncle Sal asked.

“Well, we’re not at the love stage yet, but he’s coming over tonight and we want some of your delicious pizza.” Michigan hinted, trying to steer the conversation back on track.

“And good thing you did, too. You want to impress this man, yes? Now. You want your usual pizza, of course. What else do you want?”

Michigan ordered Lucas’s pizza along with some pasta, breadsticks, wings, and a fudge cake for dessert. When he finally got off the phone with Uncle Sal and the rest of his family, who all wanted to say hi, Michigan knew he didn’t have that much time before Lucas would show up.

Placing his phone on the vanity counter, Michigan climbed into the shower and groaned at the feel of hot water beating in a massaging rhythm against his chest and back simultaneously. When he’d bought his home, he’d originally done so with the express purpose of flipping it. He loved his brothers but he wasn’t too keen on living in the same neighborhood with them. But when he’d stepped into the master bathroom, he hadn’t seen the small bathtub/shower combination or the single-person sink. He’d seen the potential the room possessed. He had the bathroom completely renovated, putting in two showerheads so that the water was hitting him at the front and back at the same time. He’d renovated other rooms in the five-bedroom home, turning one of the rooms into an office and though he hadn’t understood it at the time, he’d had his kitchen gutted and restructured to mimic an elaborate galley kitchen. His brothers had teased him, asking him if he’d planned on learning how to cook, but Michigan had merely shrugged them off. He’d had no idea that the man who was created for him, the person he was born to love, protect, and spend eternity with, was
a chef. Apparently Fate wasn’t a cold, heartless bitch.

Thoughts of Lucas, of course, caused his dick to thicken, and since, he’d finished washing and neither Lucas, nor the pizza was there yet, Michigan decided to do something he hadn’t done since he was a teenager. Grabbing the bottle of body wash, Michigan poured a generous amount in his palm and lowered his hand to his erection.

He moaned as a tingle worked its way up his body. Closing his eyes, Michigan’s mind conjured up an image of Lucas in the shower with him, on his knees, his brown hair plastered to his skull as he opened his mouth to take Michigan’s cock deep into the wet heat between his lips. Michigan moved his hand up and down his aching shaft, moving his palm over the head, shivering at his own touch as he pictured Lucas’s lips stretched obscenely around his cock.

He tightened his hand as he slowly increased the speed of his strokes, reaching down with his other hand to tease his balls. He caressed, stroked, and lightly flicked one and then the other as he rubbed the muscle just beneath the head of his cock. His stomach muscles tightened as his orgasm came charging at him like an angry, snorting bull. He groaned loudly, the sound echoing off the glass of the shower walls and he could have almost sworn he heard Lucas’s moan harmonizing with his own.

The image in Michigan’s mind shifted and his fantasy-Lucas looked up then, his green eyes dark with lust as he opened his mouth and stuck out his tongue waiting for Michigan to spray the muscle with his spunk. Wanting to give Lucas everything he wanted, even a fantasy Lucas, Michigan tugged on his testicles and moved his other hand up and down from the root to the tip of his shaft, once, twice before he let out a roar and painted Lucas’s face with his seed before he pumped the rest onto Lucas’s tongue. Imagining Lucas’s face streaked with his cum almost made Michigan hard again, but his trembling limbs and racing heart prevented his still twitching dick from doing more than just giving a halfhearted attempt at rising again. Michigan panted for breath and leaned against the tiles of the shower, opening his eyes, disappointment lancing his heart when he realized that Lucas really wasn’t there in the shower with him. He wagged his head and rinsed his hands before running them through his hair.

His orgasm had been so strong it made his ears ring and Michigan shook his head, trying to get the ringing to stop. When the ringing gave way to knocking, he realized that either Lucas, the pizza delivery guy from Uncle Sal’s, or both were at his door.

“Fuck,” he groaned. He rushed out of the shower, drying off and wrapping a towel around his waist. “Coming!” He yelled towards the front door as he hurried down the stairs and the hallway then swung open the front door.

Standing on his front porch, looking gorgeous was Lucas dressed in a pair of form-fitting dark jeans and a button-down red shirt. His eyes widened, his green gaze looking Michigan up and down before he swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down.

“U-um. Do you want me to wait out here while you get dressed?” Lucas stammered out, his eyes fixed on Michigan’s groin.

Unable to help himself, and noticing the front of Lucas’s pants tenting with his own erection, Michigan tugged his sufletul pereche towards him and lowered his head to take Lucas’s lips with his own. He moaned as the taste of Lucas burst over his tongue as they dueled for dominance in Lucas’s mouth. Spearing the fingers of one hand into Lucas’s hair, which he’d left down, Michigan wrapped his other arm around Lucas’s waist to palm his ass.

It wasn’t until he heard the harsh gasp from the delivery guy that he realized that his towel had fallen to the floor. And where once he and Lucas had been standing in his doorway kissing, he now had Lucas pressed against his door, with the chef’s legs wrapped around his waist.

  “U-um. Your to-total comes to thirty-seven sixty. D-Doctor Sevion.”

  CHAPTER EIGHT

Lucas was no stranger to embarrassing moments. He’d once gotten completely undressed in the locker room at school and walked into the shower area only to discover the maintenance crew in there cleaning up the blood from a fight between two athletes. Everyone else was dressed and Lucas was standing there, as naked as the day he was born. It wouldn’t have been so bad if he hadn’t been staring at the school’s quarterback at the time. Jason Flemming. The boy had been tall, muscled and with his gray eyes and black hair he’d been the star of all of Lucas’s masturbatory fantasies. Lucas had gotten a hard-on right there in front of everyone, effectively outing himself to the school.

Of course, his ability to embarrass himself had followed him into adulthood where he’d once thrown up while giving a guy a blowjob in the back of a club. Granted, the guy had shoved his cock down Lucas’s throat and Lucas didn’t profess to have the best gag reflex, but throwing up all over the guy had been completely unforgivable. Lucas made a concentrated effort to stay as far away from LIVE! as he could.

Then there was the time he’d been interviewing for a sous chef position at Gardenia. Talk about an embarrassing disaster. He’d walked into the interview, not knowing that when he’d gone to the bathroom he had tissue stuck to the bottom of his shoe. His pants, which had been new, but had a faulty zipper had a small bit of dried soap right at the crotch from when he’d frantically washed his hands. Then he’d called the restaurant owner’s receptionist “he” when it was a female and called the restaurant owner “she” when he was just a very effeminate looking man. While sitting down for his interview, he’d crossed his legs, accidentally kicking the owner’s desk, knocking over his coffee and when he’d stood to help, his zipper had come down, exposing the fact that he had chosen not to wear appropriate underwear that day. Damn his leather g-string, anyway. Not only had he not gotten the job but the restaurant owner had been sure he was there to sabotage him from another establishment. Lucas’s photo had been on the wall for a year, preventing him from even eating there.

But all of those things paled in comparison to being pressed against the open door of Michigan’s house, with the doctor completely nude, his towel having fallen in the midst of their frantic fumbling and passionate kissing, in the middle of his affluent neighborhood. With a delivery guy staring at them in fascinated horror, holding their food, and Michigan’s brothers, who Lucas had seen when he’d pulled up, pausing in the middle of their run to point and laugh at Michigan.

Okay, God, if you exist, this is the time when you strike me with a bolt of lightning. When nothing happened except for Michigan lowering him back to his feet, Lucas grunted mentally. Figures. You never let bad things happen to me when I want them to.

Lowering his burning face in an attempt to hide from the delivery guy, Lucas reached up and pulled his hair forward, trying to hide his burning face behind the mussed strands. He could hear Michigan’s brothers still laughing and all he really wanted to do in that moment was to disappear, or maybe to go back home and start his entire day over.

“Let me just go and grab my wallet and I’ll pay you.” Michigan’s voice was calm as if he weren’t embarrassed at all. Lucas let out a small squeak when his hand was grabbed by Michigan and he was tugged inside the house.

He kept his eyes on the ground, refusing to look up at Michigan’s gorgeous body completely in the buff, even when the man bent over to pick up his fallen towel. Instead he watched the heels of Michigan’s feet as the man walked away to grab his wallet. Lucas focused on breathing evenly, determined to not have a panic attack over everything that had just occurred, and by the time Michigan returned he was a little more in control.

“Can you pay the delivery guy so I can go and get dressed?” Michigan sounded amused and Lucas looked up at him in surprise. He was surprised by what he saw shining in Michigan’s eyes. It wasn’t embarrassment, shame, or even apology. No, Michigan looked as if he found the whole thing hilarious.

“Why aren’t you as freaked out about this as I am?” Lucas asked, confusion swirling through his veins making him feel out of sorts and on edge. He felt as if there were two of him occupying the same time dimension. Both standing there looking at Michigan.

Captain Jack would have a field day with an idea like that. A measure of peace filled Lucas as he thought about Captain Jack Harkness.

Michigan shrugged. “I don’t think I have anything to be embarrassed about. My brothers have seen me naked before and that delivery guy? Well, if he were really as horrified as he pretended to be he wouldn’t have been licking his lips while he ogled my dick. Why should I be embarrassed? Besides, you are sexy as hell. I’d walk around Loweston naked every day for the rest of my life if I got to kiss you like that again.”

Lucas blushed again, not sure of how to respond to that exactly. So he said nothing. Instead he took the money out of Michigan’s hand and gestured with a thumb over his shoulder. He backed away slowly, keeping his eyes trained on Michigan’s face, refusing to allow himself to look down at the very thing he wanted to stare at. The hard shaft that felt like steel encased in velvet that had been pressed so deliciously against his own aching cock.

“I’m just going to pay the delivery guy.”

Michigan’s hazel eyes shone in the hallway light as he nodded. He crossed his arms across his broad chest as he watched Lucas intently, causing Lucas to shiver. Lucas wasn’t exactly sure of every emotion that was in Michigan’s gaze. He could definitely identify humor and lust, but there was something else, something deeper and darker that sent a shiver down his spine. He wasn’t afraid of that emotion, however, even though it darkened Michigan’s eyes to an unfathomable degree. It made him feel powerful, wanted… safe. And while he didn’t think he need protection from anything, knowing that he didn’t have to worry about anything happening to him while with Michigan gave him a measure of peace he couldn’t remember feeling since he was a kid, and he’d lost his parents to… no. No. He wasn’t going to let himself think about that.
